A French prosecutor has issued a statement that the co-pilot of Germanwings 9525, Andreas Lubitz, 28, locked out the pilot of the plane and then intentionally crashed the plane in the French Alps. The conclusion adds a new horrific detail to an already horrific crash. It was not an accident according to a review of the record from the black box found at the crash site.
The cockpit voice recorder revealed the pilot politely knocking to be allowed back into the cockpit and then frantically banging on the door as Lubitz directed the plane into the ground. Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said that Lubitz “wanted to destroy this plane.” He killed 150 passengers and crew, who can be heard in the background screaming in terror. New reports indicate that there may have been issues in the past with regard to depression.
Germanwings, a low-budget carrier operated by Lufthansa, will likely face litigation over the crash and this adds a new issue. Companies will often offer a “rogue employee” defense of an employee acting outside the scope of their employment or clearly against the rules and wishes of the employer. This would clearly appear to fit since this is a senseless criminal act. However, there will remain the question of whether the airline had any indication or should have uncovered the type of mental imbalance that would lead to such an suicidal and murderous act.

“Gotta love it when the inmates turn on one another.”
That’s interesting that you view yourself as an “inmate,” yoyo.
In what kind of institution?
If everyone on that plane had a pistol, at least one of them could have shot the door open, shot the pilot and stopped the descent. Jeso. Second Amendment. It comes right after the First. Don’t you people learn anything from 9/11 when those punks hijacked planes?
If everyone carried guns there might indeed be some shoot outs. But so what? Its better than a hijacking or a suicide downing.
As to someone calling Obama a “Leftist”: yes, he signs his name with his left hand. Does that make everyone who does so a Communist? Even Joe McCarthy was not so Nazi like as this. Anyone remember the McCarthy Era?
It is coming to a theatre near you.
There is something to learn here. Do not get on a plane owned by a foreign company or government. There are many wackos out there at the helm. God is my Co Pilot. Of course I am a Dog. And Dog spelled backwards is God.
So like some female dog on the blog said: put a guide dog in those cockpits. They don’t call them “cockpits” for nothing. And this ain’t no cock and bull story.
Gotta love it when the inmates turn on one another.

“@Ken Rogers: Self-important and patronizing much?”
I’m sorry that you interpreted my post addressed to you as being self-important and patronizing, as I thought I was just attempting to spell out why I agreed with you and why I think it’s worthwhile to post here.
“Projection is a form of defense in which unwanted feelings are displaced onto another person, where they then appear as a threat from the external world. A common form of projection occurs when an individual, threatened by his own angry feelings, accuses another of harboring hostile thoughts.”
http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/478472/projection
Or when a person who is threatened by his own self-important and patronizing feelings may accuse others of being self-important and patronizing:
“Oh, well. I must have touched a nerve. Maybe that will lead to some introspection on the part of the bigots, but (sorry guys) I won’t be holding my breath.”
I guess good ole Wadey didn’t get them memo on personal attacks.
Paul Always Wrong
You are also often incredibly wrong and make ridiculous assertions that serve no discernible purpose. The latest was the CAIR WH office.
I find it creepy to besmirch the name of Knots Berry Farm.
Great jam and jelly.
How dare you?
Sorry.
First-tier creepy. Gotta give yo props.
William Berry=creepy
It appears as though the ones crying fowl, or the ones complaining of being bullied, are, in fact, the ones who chose to malign and abuse others on this site. The cray cray Left just can’t bear the thought that others have an opinion different from theirs, with personal attacks consistently being lobbed to try to obfuscate a true lack of intellectual depth, which would enable them to respond in a civil tone. For God’s sake, please, stop taking everything mentioned here as a personal attack on your alleged credentials or background. What are you peopke, in kindergarten? State your views. Period.
Wilde was a wonderful writer and contributed much to English literature.
Can you imagine how the poor man feels about being mishandled by the likes of Paul Always Wrong?
Wadewilliams – I have acted in, directed and taught Oscar Wilde. I even wrote a readers theatre piece for the Exotic Art Festival juxtaposing his works against his trial transcript. Was well-received.
randy, I’ve not used any invective and would appreciate your honest appraisal of the lack of ANY utterance from the F/O.
@”yoyoma”: ” . . . =fifth column”
Hilariously un-selfconscious, unless, of course, you were being “funny”, in which case you should book a tour right away.
BTW, why don’t you post under your real name? There is something more than a little creepy about a second-tier winger such as yourself besmirching the name of the great cellist.
William Berry – doxxing on this site violate the ‘civility rules.’ Ask Inga, et al.
Standing post at the marches of civilization=fifth column
“Oh, well. I must have touched a nerve.”
Again, more of the left’s intellectual heft.
So now we have ripped up notes declaring the co-pilot unfit to fly that very day and a hidden mental illness of some length and airline manufacturer’s graphics that illustrate that there is a toggle switch that locks the door with no possible way of entry- a lock position that cannot be overridden by any prior code – – and yet…and yet…
Okay. Let’s try a different tack.
randy, can you imagine a pilot struggling to stop a deadly descent into the Alps with 149 other people and does not call out one little cry of worry? – one little word of distress? one little ‘oh sh*t’? Just silence. Just normal breathing.
Oh, well. I must have touched a nerve. Maybe that will lead to some introspection on the part of the bigots, but (sorry guys) I won’t be holding my breath.
@Ken Rogers: Self-important and patronizing much?
@Inga, po, randyjet, et al: standing post at the marches of civilization is a tiring job, and it must be especially frustrating here. Keep the faith.
Anyway, I have got a two-days’ long chuckle out of the Bugsy “intelligent and thoughtful” comment. Hanging around for that was definitely worth it!
Still unbloodied– and what does “bowed” even mean?!
There are reports that this poor sap had converted to Idlam. That seems unlikely to me. Sometimes the simplest explanation is best. He was just depressed and suicidal.
I mean you would have to be depressed and suicidal to become a Muslim.
Our resident pilot has been flat ass wrong so far. But, he is doubling down, as is his pathology.
Normally I don’t bother with nick, but I think others can learn from my reply. You will notice that I use fact, and observations instead of pure invective in my reply. On the parking tiff with Norton, I observed the fact that there was no damage either observed or reported, while the partisan hacks told only PART of the story rather than using fact and jumped to conclusions that were not warranted by later events. I also observed that she did a bad job and was guilty of bad manners. The others thought that bad parking means she is not fir to be in Congress, while forgetting the many actual criminals who are still there. Then even though I am not a lawyer or Constitutional scholar, I DO know that Congresspersons ARE above the law when they travel to join sessions, but they are so ignorant they slam that fact. Then we have the final authority on the Lufthansa crash from no less an authority than Nick who is a well known authority on all subjects he talks about. My position is we need more information before we make any final judgment. Yet our folks on the right who are mostly trolls, lie about my position and have no hesitation denouncing me with no fact or reasoning, just invective.
For all those who have a concern for rational discourse and facts, I have to remind you of the mysterious B-737 crashes a number of years ago in which the plane simply dove into the ground. The indications were that massive rudder inputs were made for no good reason. Yet there was no speculation that the flight crew intentionally slammed hard rudder just to cause the crash and committed suicide. Boeing the FAA, the NTSB all said the actuators could NOT have done that on their own. I even got into a heated argument with a Southwest captain at our hotel about the cause. He insisted that there was nothing wrong with the airplane and he had thousands of hours in them. Later an independent investigator conducted actual experiments under similar conditions of flight, and VOILA! The actuators DID in fact fail in the way that DID in fact cause the crashes. The FAA then mandated modifications and problem solved. The same may well be true of the Airbus, and the FACT that it is all fly by wire makes it more likely that the plane could have a hidden defect which we do not know about yet.
randyjet – are you willing to put down Norton parking to “driver error”?

Other than that, it is a mystery why comments get snagged by the filter. I have lost many before that did not contain the above triggers. We go through periods where it happens frequently.
