We have another case of a man fired for obnoxious conduct outside of his workplace. While we recently discussed this issue with regard to academics, it is increasing common for private employers to fire people who make themselves notorious with thuggish or insulting conduct in public. The latest is Shawn Simoes, who appears to have the mentality of a three year old and taunted a female report with a disgusting sexually explicit heckle on television. He was an engineer with Hydro One, which fired him after the scene was posted outside of BMO Field.
Reporter Shauna Hunt was surrounded by a group of juvenile men who seemed to wait to get the insult on the air. They wanted to embarrass Hunt by using FHRITP, which stands for “f–k her right in the p—y.” The two men speaking with Hunt actually laugh which is equally disgusting. Hunt says that two men “in a row” shouted the offensive phrase while passing by and “I could hear these other guys conspiring to do it,” Hunt added.
Hunt then confronted the group of men in a wonderfully balanced but firm way. One of the men however then proceeds to explain how using the vulgar expression is incredibly funny. “It is f——- hilarious … it’s f—— amazing, and I respect it.”
He later sent an apology to Hunt though I find it bizarre that a grown man would have to be confronted in public to suddenly realize that he is a thug with a toddler’s mentality.
His company did not like the exposure and fired him. There is of course a difference with the Duke and Boston University professors who were voicing their views of race relations and social issues. Having an employee espousing the value to degrading women with vulgarity expressions presents a different issue for a company that has hired employees to perform specific engineering or business tasks.
As we discussed recently, people who achieve such infamy on social media tend to find that their reputation can follow them with devastating consequences as in the case of Adam Smith.
It is encouraging that the team is planning to take action against all of the men but it is only considering a ban for a year. Why not just ban the men entirely? That could only be a net benefit to every other fan and send a message that boorish thugs should stay home and watch on television where they act like total morons in private.
I honestly cannot even imagine why these men — at least six in number — think that such an insult is so funny. It reflects a sad reality about the upbringing and values of too many people — not just in the treatment of women but basic civil conduct.

Equality, in the workplace and throughout society, in general, should be praised. Save the anguish for some of the fringe and radical claims proposed by the nutjobs, but to paint all advancements with the same brush is wrong. Advocating for equality in the workplace is not the same as demanding that lesser qualified females replace more qualified males. Men have also benefited from feminism in the court system. Years ago, it would’ve been unheard of to give custody of children to men in a divorce. With society viewing women and men more and more as equals, men are beginning to reap some of those advantages as well.
bam bam – men are not being help by feminism. It is not feminism that men getting equal rights to children, it is men fighting hard for their children and taking their cases on appeal. In Arizona it took the state legislature to change the law to make most of it happen.
Women aren’t a minority.

Suck it up means that the whites and males will have to endure the reactions as well as the over reactions of blacks and females to centuries of inequality, much of which is still going on. Eventually when the minorities achieve parity their ranting and raving, which now is relevant, will cease to be relevant and they will probably be the first to notice. Of course the fine line between what becomes too much and merely pay back and what is necessary to illustrate ongoing inequalities, will be the focus. The sins of the father and all that.

Do you truly think that these men, on the street, were revolting against some radical and lunatic feminist and her deranged view of how society should evolve?
@ bam bam
I doubt that these men on the street, who had just finished watching an exciting soccer game, were not thinking deeply about feminism and the patriarchy or any of that other drivel and pc speekese that I cannot spout.
They are in revolt, probably subconsciously, against the constant barrage of negativity that white males (in particular) get from the media and from schools. The constant put downs. The militant feminists who insist that MEN are the enemy or in the case of the black teacher…WHITE men are the enemy. If they get into a relationship, they have to walk on eggs lest they be accused of racism for the mildest expressions of affection. IF they get married, they know that they have no recourse and will likely lose everything they have ever worked for and even lose their children if there is a divorce. They are cast as the bad guys…..day in….day out.
If you constantly berate, denigrate and tell someone that they are not worthy…..Guess what. They WILL either decide you are right. Or decide WTF….who cares anymore I WILL be that bad animal that you insist that I am.
Feminism has jumped the shark and tried to and is making enemies of men and women. Poisoning the well…so to speak.
Men and women are biologically different. Mentally and emotionally different. Not one better than the other. Just different. And I think complimentary parts of a whole.
Because the radical feminists have declared war on men…..it doesn’t mean that they will just sit back and take it. I am on the side of the men who are fighting back.
“How about if men just acted like they were normal?”
Define ‘normal’?
What is the ‘norm’?
“Emma Watson “lied” because of her choice of a man she dates? ”
Well yes, she said she prefers men who have been ‘liberated from prescribed gender stereotypes’, but acts entirely opposite to that.
But since SJWs always lie, it is not surprising at all.
“Mainstream feminism IS is the fringe component.”
Exactly.
“Do you truly think that these men, on the street, were revolting against some radical and lunatic feminist and her deranged view of how society should evolve? ”
They don’t have to know the deranged worldview of radical feminists –who have established the feminism taught in US, UK, and Canadian universities– to have experienced its effects.
Men are simply doing what they’ve always done:
Seeing the world and what the rules are, and acting rationally in response to them
I see their behavior not as fringe at all, but becoming more prevalent.
On the Muslim side, because of Islam.
On the Western side, because of the effects of cultural Marxism (i.e., feminism, multi-culti, gay rights).
Again, what they’ve done is nasty, but not unexpected, at least, not by me.
And if your answer to this is more feminism, well, that ain’t gonna work.
Emma Watson “lied” because of her choice of a man she dates? Good grief. That sounds unhinged.
How about if men just acted like they were normal? Too much to ask? No one needs to kiss the feet of women, just treat women normally. They are someone’s daughters, mothers, aunts. Would you be OK with the women in your life being treated with such disrespect and say to them, ‘Oh well, it’s because of feminism, don’t complain’ ? Would you kill a fly with a sledgehammer because his buzzing bothered you?
“he could be the most sensitive guy there is”
He could also be a nuclear physicist, a super hero, or a unicorn.
Regardless, she lied about preferring men who reject “prescribed gender stereotypes.”

Do you truly think that these men, on the street, were revolting against some radical and lunatic feminist and her deranged view of how society should evolve? There are fringe elements in all groups, and you chose one of the craziest of feminists to prove your point. You couldn’t possibly believe that those who call for the equal treatment of women, in the workplace and throughout society, espouse these radical and insane beliefs. Did demands for equal pay for equal jobs instigate these remarks in the streets? Using quotes, by some extreme and extremely radical individual, doesn’t prove your point that feminism somehow was the cause for the behavior.
What caused it? Many factors, probably. The media, in all its forms, portrays women, not to mention girls, in an ever increasingly sexualized light. Women are objects, unworthy of respect and glorified only for their looks and sexuality. Mainstream feminism, not some fringe component, fights for respect and equality.
bam bam –
Mainstream feminism IS is the fringe component.
“the previously dominant side will have to suck it up for a while. ”
Do you mean that men need to sit back and be abused, belittled, marginalized, ignored?
My whole point is that human nature dictates that that will not happen.
As in the video, men will fight back, at a minimum by reverting to barbarism.
Women are fifty shades of insane if they think otherwise:
‘
And when you enact policies to deprive men of educational and economic opportunity, they will find other things to do.
See Detroit, St. Louis, etc.

So what, he could be the most sensitive guy there is, respectful to all equally, etc. Women play rugby, not so good but they do play. Watch an ‘All Black’ Haka. It has nothing to do with anything but rugby and war.
Pogo
I specifically used ‘opposite sex’ for a reason. Yes, women can be just as disrespectful in some situations. And, yes, as with blacks, they get more leeway as historically and traditionally it has been the male sex that has dominated and disrespected the female sex, just as it has been the white race that has sh*t on the black race.
Unfortunately, the previously dominant side will have to suck it up for a while. That is part of the formula of equalization of the sexes and the races. One can only expose the situation and hope that more level heads will prevail, eventually.
It would be ideal if when a side or a person realizes that it has been wrong for centuries, that a simple sorry would set everything straight. Not gonna happen, over night.
Emma Watsoin said:
“Gender equality not only liberates women but also men from prescribed gender stereotypes.”
But wait!
Last August, Emma Watson was dating …not a woman, or a transgender, or a bald scrawny impoverished poet, but the biggest jock at an elite university:

The way the Swedish police handled the affair should stand as a model for US and other countries’ police departments. They were mildly amused, realized the potential of the situation, proceeded with direction, and confiscated the van as it was probably cited as a nuisance, no parade permit, etc., i.e. a technicality without stomping on anyone’s rights or necks, spines, etc. The cops know that they have the end game. The performers know that as well. There are no police egos here, as it should be. Great video. Also, the performers, as insolent as they were, did not escalate the situation with yelling and racial slurs.
“I’m sure there is a ton of research to prove that claim is true.”
A relatively short synopsis of the proof:
Sex Trouble: Essays on Radical Feminism and the War Against Human Nature
Emma Watson says it far better.
