A McKinney, Texas police officer has been suspended pending review after the posting of a videotape where he draws his gun and manhandles a group of teenagers outside of a pool party. The officer has been identified as Cpl. Eric Casebolt and he is shown being verbally and physically abusive toward young people who are not clearly doing anything unlawful.
The pulling out of the gun is a rapid escalation in a call over a dispute between a mother and a girl at the party. The McKinney Police Department’s Facebook page states that officers responded to a “disturbance” at the Craig Ranch North community pool at 7:15 p.m. It added that the juveniles at the scene “do not live in the area or have permission to be there.” It further says that people failed to respond to orders and officers struggled to “gain control of the situation.”

Casebolt,40, is a 10-year-veteran and serves as a vice president of McKinney’s police union. He received an award for “Patrolman of the Year” in 2008. The Washington Post reports that he is an instructor at Executive Self-Defense and Fitness and has a website that heralds his “ strong working knowledge of human behavior” and “experience in the use of all levels of force.” As is often the case, people have collected various pictures of Casebolt though the one dressed as an Indian chief at a party seems to be the favorite. That is part of the reality of the world of social media today.
Do you consider this level of force to be justified?
And BFM, we must never allow those who continuously make up ‘stories’ about others intimidate us into silence. We keep on exercising our First Amendment right.
The thing about Mosby and Baltimore. IIRC, that area where the arrest took place is Mosby’s husband’s district. He probably said, I got an election coming up, time to clear the corners. If anyone ever watched the great HBO series, The Wire, this all is just too real. The Wire was written by a Baltimore Sun reporter.
BFM, I made the same mistake w/ bam bam, thinking she was a man. She understood that mistake But, I happened to call her on some stuff on a rape thread and she got all hissy. Some women can dish it out, but can’t take it. I have gone toe to toe w/ dudes and then the next day be fine. Some of that comes from playing sports. Some of it comes from working in litigation. Many women hold grudges for LONG time. bam is still pissed @ me for kicking her ass on that rape issue. That was weeks ago. You have been quite civil here. Forget about it.
Wade, amazing how he ‘knows’ these ‘things’ about other commenters, eh?
BFM is a gentleman. I will always vouch for him. We disagree, but he is a longtime commenter who never engaged in the nastiness the folks who left, or were kicked out, did.
It is obvious that Professor Turley agrees with the majority of the anti cop sentiment as he posts these cop bashing threads day after day. If he worried about crime and the effects on the community he would post an occasional thread about the depredations of the criminals that the police have to deal with everyday. Just to give a little balance. The murderous violence in Baltimore where the drug sales from the store looted by Michael Brown protesters has lead to a drug war. The routine violence on the streets of Chicago. The 45% increase in murders in NYC since the first of the year. None of that interests him.
But let a cop curse out someone he is giving a ticket and it is a Federal case.
I have heard many say that this is a “free speech blog” dedicated to civil rights. What it is not dedicated to is a civil society based on the enforcement of the rule of law. Maybe the rule of law in the abstract as regards the President and Congress. But not the rule of law that stops the skells from victimizing innocent civilians.
That does not concern the elite who dwell behind the moats protecting the ivory tower.
Aye.
big mike
bam bam is a woman.
Sorry. I’ve read her comments. She is a racist and a homophobe. And an authoritarian. Let her edit away. She can’t edit the hate.
“bam bam is a woman.”
My apologies if I have not used the right pronoun or have insulted anyone’s person in any way.
I think issues are important. I may make sharp remarks about issues – and sometimes I regret that.
But it is never necessary or acceptable to denigrate a person.
If I have insulted anyone’s person in any way let this stand as a correction and an apology.
Bricks, not brinks.
Need to do that before Wadewilliams strokes out.
bam bam – no one here, include Wadewilliams, is without sin.
A high school principal in Florida, loved by his minority students and parents just lost his job after making an innocuous comment on Facebook supporting this cop. The left, particularly the Education Industry, will not allow ANY dissent, just like their hero, Mao.
More equipment? The local police departments are now being told what equipment they may or may not use when dealing with flying Molotov cocktails tossed their way, rocks the size of brinks thrown at them and bags filled with urine and feces hurled in their direction. I guess keeping up with what is actually happening, with regard to the police, is irrelevant. Just spout a lot of s&@t and hope it flies. Giving police the ability to actually police, by supplying them with the proper gear and equipment, is the opposite of what is actually occurring. I assume someone missed that memo. Police, in response to the insane liberals crying about excessive militarization in response to the out of control mobs, are now being denied use of necessary equipment to protect themselves from harm as they perform their duties.
Yes, of course it was a mistake. What part of I STAND CORRECTED doesn’t compute? I make numerous mistakes, both on my phone and on my computer. Unlike Wadewilliams, some of us do take responsibility for our mistakes. Lol! Love the criticism for mentioning that I blamed it on the phone. Now, now. Running out of steam, are we? Is that the best you got? Lol! Love that I’m an authoritarian. Guess that’s the person unwilling to partake in a lynch mob. Guess that’s the person demanding a thorough investigation before lives and careers are trashed. Guess that’s the person unwilling to try and convict someone in the public arena, with no facts or evidence. Authoritarian never sounded so good.
” The police are back on their heels ”
Wait a minute. Are the police back on their heals. Are the police in a huff because citizens are telling them they have to obey the law too.
If the police are back on their heals then we will support them completely. We will give them the numbers and the equipment they need to be successful – with true thanks and appreciation.
But if police are giving us the false dichotomy 1) we can have safe neighborhoods or 2) we can have police who obey the law; then we have a very serious problem.
There is no contradiction between safe neighborhoods and accountability by law enforcement. We will have both. The only question is who finds a new career when this is all over.
“the phone”, boss. It was the phone!
It’s always the phone. These authoritarians – never take responsibility. What are we becoming? The center will not hold.
MOBS!

You have missed your calling if you are not either running for public office or currently employed in that manner. Your experience and wisdom would make you the perfect candidate. Just tell me, where may I send my donation? 🙂
Maybe if I said it this way….
There was a LIKELIHOOD that the ‘rebellious’ citizen getting his brain fried in the squad car might have died. There was a LIKELIHOOD that it was a very unpleasant experience. There was a LIKELIHOOD that the pretty conservative Navy vet felt like the cop was an a&& whole. (sic)
bam bam is sensitive to “Likelihoods”.
I stand corrected. It is, indeed, bated breath, not baited breath.
My phone spewed out the incorrect word. My bad.
Somehow, baited breath does, however, have more of an appeal than bated breath. Go figure.
I said that Randyjet said his friend would rejoice if a cop would die. How does what you posted contradict that? It is what he said. I don’t believe that his friend is a conservative. I don’t believe for a minute that randyjet or Wadewilliams could have a “conservative friend.” Be that as it may the fact remains that he plainly stated that his “friend” would rejoice in the death of a police officer. As I am sure you would. You are just more circumspect and a better dissembler.
What I didn’t see was anyone saying that is a terrible attitude. That it is wrong. I do see conservatives saying that police who do wrong should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. After an investigation and by a jury of their peers. The same rights that criminals enjoy. You want to immediately convict any law enforcement officer based on a video or the lies of the perps and their families.
The effect of this insidious campaign against law enforcement is that many laws will not get enforced. It is called law enforcement for a reason. If you don’t want it enforced. Decriminalize the anti social behavior. Legalize drug use. Selling untaxed loosies. Manhandling Quick Mart clerks so you can get cigars to make up a spliff with a Philly Blunt. Plainly state that homeowner association can not put limits on the use of their pool and anyone could charge admission and bring as many people as they want at anytime because people have no right to control access to their own property. Legalize fare jumping, speeding, public urination and open containers. The ultra liberal NYC city council is moving in that direction. At least they are honest in their support of antisocial behavior. Legalize it and the Law Enforcement is no longer a problem since there will not be a law to be enforced.
Because it is not the law breakers and the criminals that are the problem. It is those horrible out of control cops. You can see that in Baltimore. The police have been pulled back and everything is sweetness and light.
You reap what you sow.
trooperyork –
I second that motion. All in favor, vote aye!
bam bam meant to say she waited with ‘bated breath’.
Better to get the story from randy. Here’s his comment…
“A friend of mine, a black co worker who was a 8 year Navy Vietnam veteran, was on his front lawn and watching some police action down the street from his house. A cop came up to him and ORDERED him to get his ass back inside his house. John told the cop he was on his lawn and he had NO right to order him to get off his own lawn and inside his house. The cop did not agree, so he arrested JT, cuffed him and put him inside the police car with the windows rolled up in midday Houston summer heat, with the engine and A/C off. He sat inside for about 30 minutes before the cop came back and took him downtown. He was well roasted, but still alive. He went to the DA and complained, but nothing was done other than all charges were dropped against him.
That transformed JT from a law and order rather conservative person, to a man who now hates ALL cops. It is too bad that the authorities will only bring charges against poor black women, and not against the crooked cops. As JT said, if he ever sees a cop in trouble, he will cheer for him to die now”
trooper has the possibility of being a fine reporter for Breitbart.
I have a better story than being put in a hot car. I had a SWAT team member paint me with a red dot on my chest and tell me to go back in my house.
