Four high school students picked the wrong guy to allegedly kidnap and rob. Texas border patrol agent Armando Alaniz was was vacationing with his family in Florida and was packing up his car when four teens jumped him and threw him into his car. Gregory McDonald, 19, Dante Askins, 18, and two other teens, 15 and 16, are accused of pistol-whipping the agent, tying him up, robbing him, and then abandoning him at a vacant drug house in Orlando. What is interesting is that an OnStar vehicle security representative called the car after the victim’s wife called police. The agent heard someone screaming for help and notified police.
The agent was confronted at gunpoint in an Orlando hotel parking lot Wednesday night as he was packing up his car. He was forced into the backseat, pistol-whipped, tied-up and robbed of his wallet. His was then held captive for two hours. His harrowing ordeal ended when the carjackers ditched the car at a vacant drug house and fled, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Askins, who is a reputed member of the street gang Death Over Mercy, added to his problem by being picked up Thursday in a stolen car. He was previously charged in a serious offense but avoided prosecution. In 2013, he was charged as an adult at 16 with attempted murder in a drive-by shooting targeting a member of the rival Gorilla gang. His co-defendants received lengthy sentences but the charges against Askins were eventually dropped.
The four face charges of armed kidnapping, carjacking and battery with a firearm. Askins has additional charges of multiple counts of stealing cars, resisting arrest without violence, burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Sheriff Jerry Demings (right) stated that “[t]hese high-school students were playing a dangerous game, and they got caught playing a dangerous game.” That comment struck me as rather odd. Hanging on the back of city buses and running on roof top is a dangerous game. Carjacking, kidnapping, and pistol-whipping people are serious crimes committed by serious felons. The victim was beaten and robbed. I fail to see how the word game would come into play on any level of this crime.
Would it have been wise to have a loaded gun in his waistband as he jostled suitcases, souvenirs, hats, sunglasses, suntan oil, surfboards in and out of his car?

It would have been wiser to find out the demographics and crime statistics of the area you are planning to vacation in and avoid the ghettoized areas like the plague. They are beyond help and all you can do is try to save yourself by not venturing into danger.
Sorry Florida, if you want tourism, you’d better take care of your third world crime ridden State.
DBQ – I think they stopped doing it, but Florida had special licence plates for rental cars. Tourists were getting robbed all the time because all they had to do was look for the licence.

If YOU don’t want to be protected and prepared, that is your decision: and basically, we won’t miss you. WE are sensible in our need for safety and our right to protect ourselves by bearing arms.
Like Karen, I also live in a rural area where there are predators and vermin, natural risks like mountain lions, bears, snakes, and many human predators and vermin (drug dealers growing pot and making honey oil, petty thieves who are on the revolving door plan at the county jail, and a great dumping ground for sexual predators released from incarceration). The nearest police/sheriff help is at least 45 minutes to a couple of hours away. We don’t have time to wait for help.
So to the Isaacs of the world. Screw you. Molan Labe!

It’s not black business owners who are being mocked here. It’s the person who claimed the Oath Keepers were there to protect these black businesses and police who is being mocked.
Cops are one of the biggest haters of the 2nd Amendment. They are govt. employees who only want themselves to be armed. Even most stupid people know that for Chrissakes. Cop haters hate cops except when cops hate on the 2nd Amendment. Cue..”My brother, blah blah, or “my daughter blah blah.” NEVER any comments about friends, only family members. HMMMMM!

Cops, even good ones, can only protect a very small segment of society. I almost all cases, it is up to good citizens to protect themselves. But, when good citizens put themselves in harms way to protect people they don’t even know, well then God bless and protect them. Amen.
If some of these lily white liberals who live in white enclaves were living in Ferguson, they would be kissing the feet of these brave and LAW ABIDING men. God bless them. God bless the Guardian Angels protecting women and children in Central Park while the NYC mayor ignores them.

The small group of men — dressed in military-style camouflage and bullet-proof vests, and armed with long guns — initially startled protesters, some of whom asked the Oath Keepers to leave. But they insisted that they were “on their side,” and had arrived to protect protesters from police, who stood standing watching in riot gear across the street. They said Missouri law permitted them to openly carry legally owned weapons.
When the Oath Keepers crossed to the same side of the street where police stood, protesters followed. But police didn’t react to their presence.”

On Monday night, protesters again gathered in the streets of Ferguson, Mo. Demonstrations in the St. Louis suburb have flared up in recent days to mark the first anniversary of the death of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager who was fatally shot by a white police officer.
The men — all of them white and heavily armed — said they were in the area to protect someone who worked for the Web site Infowars.com, which is affiliated with talk-radio conspiracy theorist and self-described “thought criminal against Big Brother” Alex Jones.
Guardian Angels are once again patrolling Central Park in NYC. The law abiding heavily armed men in Ferguson were APPLAUDED and THANKED by law abiding BLACK business owners. These brave men defended businesses the police have let get looted in the past. You see, armed citizens will do what the police refuse to do. Thank God for the 2nd Amendment. And, some of these pansies here might thank brave citizens bearing arms. It’s easy to be liberal when a black thug doesn’t live anywhere in the county you reside! Openly armed white Oath Keepers in middle of Ferguson protest. How long would an openly armed black protester have lasted?
This happened in Florida, the land of Zimmerman. The victim was probably licensed to carry a gun. The laws in Florida would have allowed him to shoot them all. So much for the John Wayne in the arguments of the NRA.
The gun used in the crime is the very reason why the US needs more restrictive gun laws. Guys like this victim should be able to own and carry weapons. In order to own and perhaps carry a weapon he would have been obligated to be vetted, trained, and educated. Why not make this the standard for gun ownership. Perhaps, just maybe, the scum running around with guns might find them harder to come by.
The perps should all go to prison for a minimum of twenty years before parole. The attacking of any person like this, regardless of who they are, should be treated with the most harsh measures.
Yet there are people in prison for the rest of their lives for crimes a hundred times less dangerous than this.
Perhaps Olly would explain what he thinks the “progressive movement” is. Who are some of these progressive Republicans and conservatives? As for all the talk of “extermination” it’s beginning to sound like WW 2 Germany.
