One of the leading Hungarian broadcasters has fired a camerawoman after she was shown tripping a fleeing refugee man who was carrying his young son in his arms. The broadcaster and many Hungarian news outlets have been accused of highly negative coverage of the influx of refugees. The camerawoman has been identified as Petra László of N1TV.
The man can be seen breaking away from a police officer with his child in his arms when László sticks out her leg to trip him.
On its Web site, the TV station posted a statement that read: “Today, a N1TV colleague behaved unacceptably at the Roeszke reception center. The cameraman’s employment was terminated with immediate effect.”
The incident follows tough talk from Prime Minister Viktor Orban in criticizing Germany and other nations for opening up borders to refugees.
Randyjet, any further discussion with you is an effort in futility. I’ve discussed issues with you in the past in which you’ve made statements about me and my family that were nothing more than conjecture and nastiness. I’m not going there again.
My own parents desperately sought refuge in the American Zone in Austria and I’m eternally grateful they found refuge. My relatives who got stuck in Eastern Europe were not so lucky.
Randyjet, I don’t know what you read that you would classify as them as not being a real refugee. Of COURSE any parent wants what is best for their children. I won’t hold that against them. A little humanity goes a long way. Too bad so many are missing that ‘gene’.
Annie, Simply wanting a better life is NOT a valid reason for becoming an ILLEGAL immigrant and spitting on the rules and people of another more desirable country. That is NOT having compassion for the people of those people who through NO fault of their own are expected to GIVE these people their wealth and country. I have compassion for my fellow citizens, and it is too bad you do not and place those who are totally self centered above your countrymen.
Probably unlike you, I have personally put my own life on the line to help REAL political refugees enter the US illegally. They had every legitimate cause for this since the secret police were hot on their trail and would have been executed as so many of their comrades had been. THAT is a real refugee. Their first acts after entering and getting established was to turn themselves in to the INS too. So I know I have FAR more compassion than you. I don’t mind helping truly deserving people, but I also refuse to be a SUCKER for those who do not deserve political refugee status.
As for the quality of the illegals I helped, they left the US to go back home to help the revolution and gave up their status in the US. Unfortunately, they lost not only the revolution, but in many cases their lives. These people are the fighters for freedom that we can assimilate and showed their mettle. Contrast that with the illegals who are coming to do anything to promote their own prospects, and can care less about others. The bodies of hundreds of illegals are in the desert as they are left to die a horrible death by these same people. I could not do such a thing if I were in their position. These are NOT the kind of folks I want in our country. Where was THEIR compassion?
The camerawoman was a complete jerk to purposely trip a father carrying a small child.

A running commentary on the refugee crisis. Those people who are denying these people are true refugees really don’t know what they are talking about.
It is too bad Annie did not read her own posts that she recently sent. They say in their own words that they want to get to Germany for the good education, and benefits for themselves and their families. THAT is not a valid claim for asylum by any stretch of that word. Yes there is a civil war going on in Syria, but the US had its own Civil War with far worse costs and devastation and very few left. So these people are simply using the lax legal loopholes that allow them to clog the system and abuse it. There are gang ridden societies in much of the world, but that does not make them eligible for refugee status. I suggest that minorities in the US adopt a similar stance and demand that they be rehoused in safer communities. Simply pick up and go and demand new housing or live in the open until their demands are met. The refugee provisions were designed for those fleeing governments who target them personally or their ethic group. These refugees are simply opportunists who deserve to be in camps and kept there until they go home, or get legal entry to a country willing to take them.
The wave of immigrant should be managed so that it does not overwhelm or fundamentally change host countries.
Think of how the US has already changed. We are afraid to enforce our immigration laws for fear of angering the Latino voters, which has nothing to do with right or wrong. How would the US change if millions of refugees fled here, overwhelming us with their numbers and not adapting to our culture of freedom and values? Such refugees should be cared for and have a place to go, but it should be spread out, including, as randyjet observed, among other Middle Eastern countries, as well as the US and Europe. The benefits are drawing them, but the host countries will regret their decisions if they accept so many their systems collapse. That would be very poor logistics and planning.
This brings to mind a conversation I had with my father many years ago, about why we trained and armed the mujahadeen against the Soviets, only for them to turn on us after they got what they wanted. He said that many of our alliances can be reasonably assumed to be temporary. We must always plan that our friends today may be enemies tomorrow. We needed their help to fight the Soviet Expansion, so at the time we were allies. But because we had no misconceptions about the depth of their love, we provided them with weapons and training lower than the US standard. When they turned on us, as expected, we were neither surprised nor out gunned. He fully expected a Bin Laden to rise, though of course had hoped he would not be successful.
What will the unintended consequences be of a wave of immigration from war torn countries, concentrated in host countries with completely different values? Will they assimilate, or transplant the customs that abused human rights? Spreading out immigration encourages and requires immigrants to assimilate, something you want if your country has better human rights and freedoms than the rest of the world. Overwhelming your country with unsustainable numbers that strain your benefit system does not encourage or require assimilation to your values. Then we see countries assimilating with immigrants. For example, there are many places where Jews cannot walk now, and female genital mutilation is on the rise in Europe, because the flood of immigration has not been managed properly and that assimilation did not take place. Rather, they brought anti-semitism and lack of rights for women with them. That was a failure of logistics.
Nick – did you hear how Liberal playground CA just passed a bill that will mandate everyone cut gas consumption by 50% by the next few years?
We have been getting Flex Alerts all summer, which is where the electric company asks customers to cut electricity use because demand exceeded supply.
So . . . what are we supposed to do to cut gas? Buy expensive electric cars with low range when the grid cannot support our current use? I’ve been really interested to see the advances in fuel efficiency, and the evolution of hybrids and electric cars with greater range. But it sounds like some politician decided he hated fossil fuels so wanted to ban half their use with absolutely no idea of the logistics.
CA real estate in cities is so prohibitively expensive that most people commute long distances. Plus, the cities are crowded and dirty. San Francisco, for example, has 60 year old houses going for $8,000/sq foot. What are people supposed to do, walk 30 miles to work? Moms can’t usually carpool, because what are they going to do if the school calls and tells them their kid is sick? How will this affect the price of every good and service that uses gas to get there, such as groceries, remodels? The people most affected are the small business owners and the poor, as per usual. If the price of gas skyrockets, many people will be driven out of business and the economy will collapse. Again, this is a good example of unintended consequences for policies with supposedly good intentions, “for the environment.”
Remember how I’ve often predicted that if energy prices keep going up, people will cut down trees to heat their homes? It’s already happening. Outdoor wood burning furnaces and pellet stoves are booming, and the advertisements all proclaim people can slash high energy and gas prices by chopping down trees – the trees that produce oxygen, remove carbon, and clean our air.

“In the early 20th century between the two wars, Bosnians moved to the east and west. They fled to Turkey, Austria, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, United States, and Canada. This occurred mostly during the Second World War.”
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serbs_in_Germany
Serbs (Serbs in Germany, Srbi u Nemačkoj) are the seventh largest group of foreigners in Germany.[4] Most Serbs living in Germany, moved during the 1960s and 1970s as Gastarbeiter or “Guest workers” when Serbia was part of Yugoslavia. A small percentage of Serbs migrated to Germany as refugees during the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990s.
*****************
So, I wonder why so many Serbs wanted to stay in Germany.
The feelings of the Germans are not foolish or misplaced, they have a really good reason to make sure they are never again seen as murderers and bigots. Germany has taken in many refugees of different wars since the end of WW2. I worked with Serbian and also Bosnian refugees that ended up in Germany. They said they were given refugee status for four years and then they were required to leave to another country or return to their country of origin. Germany doesn’t allow all of the refugees they take in to stay indefinitely, as I understood it.
Reisling said: those murderers and their supporters/bystanders are mostly dead. My father-in-law was 6 years old when the war ended. His parents have been dead for 20 years. My husband and daughter had absolutely nothing to do with murdering people
True. The sins of the past should not be heaped on the shoulders of the present. My aunt (by marriage) was a child of about the same age as your FiL at the end of the war. Her father, a Brown Shirt in the Nazi party, disappeared (probably killed) and she and her mother were destitute. In no way would I consider blaming her for her father’s or her country’s past.
However, the underlying culture of a country and a people is still there and given the wrong catalyst the bad ways can rise to the surface again.
The guilt, which the current residents of Germany should not be bearing, will be the demise of their own country. Foolish and misplaced feelings. Feelings that can and likely WILL create a backlash from others who are feeling the burden of this massive invasion. Feeling without thinking through the consequences of your actions. The elites, in every country, come up with ideas for which they never have to pay the price and those who do have to pay the price simmer in resentment until……..it boils over.
I do not see anything good coming from this “fundamental” transformation and forced cultural change by invasions of people who are coming with their hands out for a free ride and who do NOT really want to become a part of the country that they are invading.
This goes not just for Germany but also in the United States. I see a bad moon a’risin’. I see trouble on the way. I fear for my children and grand children. I’m glad I’m old!
I hope these Syrian refugees assimilate and don’t become radicalized down the road.
Meet Ahmed. An 8 year old Syrian boy fighter with AK-47, smokes cigarettes and throws hand grenade.
Riesling,
Germans will never be free of the stigma of their heritage. My people weren’t in Germany since 1720, they emigrated to the Eastern lands, but retained their German ethnicity mostly. I can’t tell you how many times, even here on this blog’s comments section, my German heritage has been brought up in a very ugly way.
I wonder if people know that when Austrian and German Jewish refugees from Europe arrived to their destination countries such as the U.S. and England before the start of WW2 they were viewed with derision and suspicion? Possibly German spies? They were viewed as intruders, “dirty refugees, go back to where you come from”.

Anyway that’s why they will allow their elites to commit national suicide – because if you object, you are branded a Nazi.
DBQ: those murderers and their supporters/bystanders are mostly dead. My father-in-law was 6 years old when the war ended. His parents have been dead for 20 years. My husband and daughter had absolutely nothing to do with murdering people
Anyway, it was 12 million- not 6. This is the reason that the Germans feel obligated to take in the refugeees. They are also horrified and disgusted with that part of their history. They are tired of being the bad guys

Great comment at 11:39 am.
I pray these people grow to love their new countries. Sadly, too many refugees and migrants carry their anger and violence with them. Pray the ISIS members are caught soon.
Dust Bunny Queen is on the right track, but these people will need some help. Oh, and the jackwagon who tripped the dad? I hope she never works in media again.
The Clinton Foundation is willing to send Bill over to speak to and inspire these refugees, but they need to pony up $10million in speaking fees first.
The answer is to ONLY give benefits, welfare, free goodies to CITIZENS. If there is not a fat gravy train in the destination countries where the invading hordes are attempting to go, they would not be so determined to invade those countries. Follow the money.
If you are truly fleeing for your life, which in many cases is likely and in many more cases it is NOT, then you don’t shop around for the country with the biggest taxpayer provided cushion. You will be grateful for what you can get.
IF the people in those countries are sympathetic to the plight of those who are invading their country, then they can set up some charities or let the churches handle it. Benefits are for the CITIZENS of the state. The US should also take this stance and see how the flood of illegal aliens from other countries lessens. If you want to come to the US without the gravy train, many less will be pouring over our porous nonexistant borders. Working and abiding by the rules….piffle…..that is just for the little pipples and rube citizens who are footing the bills.
IF the refugees are serious, then they will apply for citizenship…..learn the language of the country that they are invading…….abide by the laws of that country……abandon sharia laws…….assimilate into the culture. Become a German. Become a Swede.
Of course…they won’t and they don’t because that [immigration and assimilation] is not the goal. The goal is to invade and basically take over another country and bring your own dysfunctional culture with you and turn the new country into the hell hole that your old one was.
In addition, many of those supposedly fleeing are actually infiltrating and are radicalized ISIS and others and mean harm and destruction to the people and countries that they are invading.
This will not turn out well at all. The people in Europe who sat by or participated in the murder of 6 million people during WWII will not idly stand by while their elites commit societal suicide.
