We recently discussed the bizarre report that the Saudi Arabian government was going to sue a Twitter user for a tweet where he compared the death sentence given poet Ashraf Fayadh to ISIS executions. It appears that decapitations of non-believers ordered under Sharia are materially different from decapitations of nonbelievers ordered by ISIS under Sharia law. Now, as if struggling to bring home the absurd distinction, another Saudi Sharia court has sentenced a Saudi Arabian woman to death by stoning for adultery. The man? He gets 100 lashes.
The 45-year-old married woman who is a maid in Riyadh reportedly confessed. Saudi Arabia routinely denies due process to accused persons, including access to lawyers, and has long been condemned for the use of torture. The Saudi courts still apply the medieval Sharia law and denies basic freedoms to women, religious minorities, dissidents, artists, and journalists.
Presumably, a Saudi stoning for adultery is also materially different from an ISIS stoning for adultery.
Just to refresh your memory, Saudi Arabia is the chair of the Human Rights Council . . . and of course our key ally in the war against Islamic extremism.

po – it appears to be a Democrat who targeted Planned Parenthood.

Paul, do you have a source for that statement?

Paul, I followed your link, read it but still cannot find in it a reference to his being a democrat.
Would you please quote it?
po – in S. Carolina or something he is registered as a Democrat. Now he is an undecided woman.
“Israeli extremism that is the leading cause of death for Arab women, outside of terrorist states.”
Really? Based on what? Please cite your references. And what are the deaths caused by? The bombings, which they drop leaflets ahead of time to warn? Is it these knife wielding women who get shot while they try to stab Israeli police?
More deaths than cancer, pneumonia, emphesema, old age, organ failure, heart disease, or any other causes? That is so interesting, since Palestinian women have access to better health care, better education, and equal voting rights, compared with anywhere else in the Middle East.
And tens of thousands of Palestinians still go to work every day for Israeli companies. In fact, when there was a misguided call to boycott SodaStream, Palestinian workers protested, because they got free transportation, free breakfast, free lunch, and made a LOT more working for that Israeli company. Who knew that evil Soda Stream was really genocidal, lulling them with higher pay and better working conditions?
You’ve made claims before that Israel is genocidal, must be destroyed, and is behind 9/11. It doesn’t matter if you see death lists that Jews died in 9/11, or any proof that terrorists actually carried it out, or that in order to enact genocide you have to actually be deliberately trying to wipe out a race. The undisputed fact that Palestinians (especially women) enjoy better healthcare, rights, infrastructure, electricity, water, and jobs completely undermines that claim. But you’ve also lied repeatedly that I want women and children to die. The only time you seem to get upset is if anyone discusses the plight of women in the Middle East, or complains about violent extremism.
You sound like just another extremist recruiter to me. With all the recent extremist terrorist attacks, you’re going to be really busy with the “nothing to see here” efforts.
Karen, I thought my comment earlier, this one Thank you for joining me in condemning ALL extremism, religious or secular, Christian, Jewish and Muslim, wherever it is to be found, whether Assad, the US, Israel, hamas, isis, right wing Christianity that targets planned parenthood or Saudi Arabia was a very safe comment, as I went out on a limb condemning ALL extremists of all stripes, anyone using secular or religious motives to kill civilians en masse, whoever they are and whatever their excuse? .
It sounds like you are going against my widespread condemnation of all extremism, which would suggest that you DO support those extremists I have condemned? Is that so, or have I misunderstood you?
I must have, otherwise we would be forced to assume bad things about you, which we all know would NOT apply to you 🙂
But just so we are clear about it lest someone else may be tempted to read erroneous things about your selective condemnation, are you with us that ALL extremism ( religious or secular, Christian, Jewish and Muslim, wherever it is to be found, whether Assad, the US, Israel, hamas, isis, right wing Christianity that targets planned parenthood or Saudi Arabia) is to be condemned?
I think if we are going to kill humans on behalf of all humans in America (death penalty) then we ought to do it in the public square in front of each state capital. Chopping off the head with a sword. If we say we are Christians then we need to revile that Sears Roebuck version of the Bible which has an exception (Y’all Can) to the Sixth Commandment (Thou Shalt Not Kill). No, the Sixth Commandment does not state: Thou Shalt Not Murder. That is the version thrown up by the folks in Mississippi and other states who quote the Sears Roebuck Bible.
Barkin Dog, You say “Right now I would choose Saudi Arabia of the South Side of Chicago.” Bin there, done that! Lived there for 18 years, and NEVER felt threatened in any way. Daily life is quite safe. Safer than Chicago, Detroit, what have you. But, your pubescent girls get felt up, especially if they are not covered, and the mutawaeen will hit your lady friend on the back of her legs with a camel whip if she is not covered properly. Capital punishment is carried out publically, which is great I suppose if you believe capital punishment should have a deterrent effect. Why do we hide ours from public view?
I so agree with you, karen, extremism ruins everything…including the Israeli extremism that is the leading cause of death for Arab women, outside of terrorist states.
Thank you for joining me in condemning ALL extremism, religious or secular, Christian, Jewish and Muslim, wherever it is to be found, whether Assad, the US, Israel, hamas, isis, right wing Christianity that targets planned parenthood or Saudi Arabia.
I knew we agreed, all along!
po – it appears to be a Democrat who targeted Planned Parenthood.
The Human Rights Council of the UN is a tragic joke.
What is also absurd is that there are still people in the world who claim that women have equal rights under Sharia Law. Human rights are abused everywhere it is practiced.
Extremism ruins everything. And once it becomes entrenched in government, as it has in the Middle East, it has far more scope for violence and carnage.
This is so tragic. I always say they have to change from within, but look at what they are faced with.
Doglover contd.
Refill those plastic water bottles. Each time you cut your plastic footprint in half. Use cloth instead of paper towels and cycle the paper towels through more than one use. Think a bit before errands that require the car, etc. etc. etc.
A little thought does not hurt and does not affect lifestyle. Our toxic footprint could be cut in half without much work. Lobby for reduced packaging systems. If you can carry an object refuse the plastic bag. A third to a half of most packaging is absolutely unnecessary.
All this crap goes into the earth, the earth that we live from.
bambam, I know your comment was deleted, but since you missed it, here is my comment:

I stated the reason: “Let us remember that without us, there is no Saudi Arabia”
the problem :…no beheadings…no lashing…no stoning…no wahabism…no islamic terrorism…no ISiS… no 9/11…
Then I offered a solution:
““‘Next time your congressman says Saudi Arabia is our trusted ally, let him know he lost your vote.
Next time he supports selling them billions of $ worth of weapons, let him know he lost your vote.
Next time king salman comes into town, join me in picketing him.”
what do you suggest, other than making it all again about Israel, then complaining of antisemitism?
Many Americans want a Christian “theocracy” government (which is the opposite of religious freedom) – this is what a theocracy looks like! It doesn’t matter what religion, theocracies result in tyranny.
Personally, I am surprised the guy is getting 100 lashes. They are finally starting to get serious.
It’s a challenge to overcome the US addiction to oil. Some actions that can be taken…..Thank the President for his strong support of switching to renewable energy; become vegan -cooking meat requires fuel. Vegetables, fruit, and whole raw grain do not. Stop it with the Christmas lights. Unlighted Xmas decorations are lovely enough. Forego recreation that requires fuel (downhill skiing, traveling to recreation destinations, RVs) Walking, bicycling, swimming, dancing, right where you live will make you look better, feel better, and will save you money. To experience other cultures, befriend immigrants.
But I would not live in Saudi Arabia if they would not let me read the Turley Blog.
In one article we show the disgrace to the human race of the BLM crowd in Chi Town and here we are supposed to be critical of Saudi Arabia for being tough on crime. Ok, the crime here should not be a crime. But where does the itShay start if not with improper sex between unmarried couples. Here in America there is pressure on the 14 year old girl “to get her check”. So Uncle Looey gives her a roll in the hay and all is ok.
Right now I would choose Saudi Arabia of the South Side of Chicago.
Beautifully articulated Jonathan – I’ll be writing a piece on Saudi Arabia in the near future, but in the meantime, please do take a look at some of my other posts if you get a moment. It’d be a pleasure to hear your opinion – THWBlog
So India how is the US or the UK responsible for the excesses and cruelty of Sharia law? I guess the US and UK are responsible for everything because people in other countries have zero ability to make their own choices. Talk about racism. India you take the award!

Waiting for po to blame Israel and the Jews for the barbaric Muslims in Saudi Arabia. Wait. It’s coming. Notice, not a word about the Religion of Peace that condones and demands these inhumane and grotesque behaviors, just a constant flow of condemnation of everyone and anything else to deflect attention from the true source of the problem. Typical and expected.
Is this the same Saudi Arabia that is suing a Twitter user for suggesting that the beheadings it engages in on a regular basis are the same as those engaged in by ISIS? Just wanted to be sure.
Is this the same Saudi Arabia to which our president and almost the entire cabinate flew to morn the death of its King? Is this the same Saudi Arabia who is our alleged ally? Is this the same Saudi Arabia who tells us who we will fight in the MIDDLE EAST? If it is, our government needs to get it collective head examined. To this and to their unlimited support of the ruling family in SA I say: NOT IN MY NAME!
SHARIA IS SATAN’S LOVLESS LAW. This is God’s law. Galatians 6:2 2Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Romans 13:10: Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Luke 20:38 “For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.”
KJV Cambridge edition.
Let us remember that without us, there is no Saudi Arabia…no beheadings…no lashing…no stoning…no wahabism…no islamic terrorism…no ISiS… no 9/11…
