Steinem: Young Women Supporting Sanders Are Just Looking For Men

220px-Wheretheboysare220px-G_steinem_2011We have previously discussed the bizarre treatment of young women who have turned to Bernie Sanders with other young people in unprecedented numbers. Democratic and feminist leaders have increasingly treated those women as ignorant, naive or disloyal. However the most shocking and sexist statement came from feminist icon Gloria Steinem who told Bill Maher on Friday night that young women are simply looking for boys and the “boys are with Bernie.” In the meantime, with Hillary Clinton next to her, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said that women supporting Sanders should go to hell. Why? These are women who are refusing to be sexist and simply support Clinton because she is a women. Isn’t that what the gender revolution was about? Many young women have been polled and say that they view Clinton as dishonest and the very personification of the establishment. One can certainly contest those views but the idea that women should be damned or dismissed for not supporting a woman should seem . . . well . . . sexist. Moreover, I fail to see how any of this is helping change any minds among young women.

Steinem triggered a firestorm when, after being asked about the heavy lead of Sanders among younger women, said “When you’re young, you’re thinking, ‘Where are the boys?’ The boys are with Bernie.”  This is like repeating the long-standing insult that women just go to college for husbands.  Even as a joke, it would be tasteless but, in this context, reflects the growing divide between older feminists and women between 18 and 30.

220px-AlbrightmadeleineNot to be outdone Albright continued with, “just remember: there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other.” Really? Does that mean supporting Carly Fiorina or someone like Sarah Palin? What is fascinating is that these young women are looking beyond gender and they are critical of what they see in Clinton on the issues, including issues not directly linked or beneficial to them. Clinton responded to these comments by laughing in appreciation.

There seems to be a rising level of guilt treatment or open contempt by older feminists for young women in failing to fall blindly into line behind Clinton. Younger women have proven far more skeptical including in response to Clinton’s statement that she cannot be considered the “establishment” in the race because she is a woman. The campaign is clearly pushing this line to press young women but it seems remarkably heavy handed and insulting to me.  There are legitimate reasons to oppose (and legitimate reasons to support) Hillary, who has insisted that she is running not as the best woman but the best leader.  Many (not all) younger woman has found Sanders more compelling as a leader. Yet, they are facing these insulting from older women for coming to what they view as the wrong decision in not supporting a woman.

What do you think?

  1. Sorry Hilde. I tried to watch both those videos in small doses so I could consume them entirely. I hate to break it to you, but it’s a standard paranoid’s view of the world, mixing in a little truth with a lot of conjecture, several false conclusions built one upon the other, ending up in total crazy land.

Seriously, if you think this was an accurate portrayal of anything real, you have serious issues.

Please get some help. I mean it. You and John, among a few others, have really gone round the bend. I don’t know how else to put it. What you posted is complete and unbelievable nonsense. Sorry, I tried.

    1. phillyT; Methinks you protest too much with your ‘around the bend’ armchair diagnosis. No offense taken since you’re not even close- all of your heartfelt sincerity aside.

“…mixing in a little truth with a lot of conjecture”… You’re sure you’re not talking about main stream media? I looked at the Rational Wiki link and sorry, I’m just not impressed and the Daily Beast reference? This made me laugh: “While the name might sound a bit ominous, Agenda 21 IS A VOLUNTARY ACTION PLAN…”

At 19:28 in the ‪Common Core: Based on UN Agenda 21, UNESCO Standards‬ video (are you paying attention?) taken from the NAEP [National assessment of educational progress] Civics Framework document page two I quote:

1.) NCLB [no child left behind] MANDATES that Districts will be held “accountable” to the NAEP.
2.) The National Assessment Governing Board’s policy MANDATES that the content of the NAEP reflect MANDATORY standards.

Is that not double speak at it’s finest?

Listen I hope you don’t watch any more videos but if you do, please watch the entire thing or leave me out of it because I HATE typing this much in response to someone who just can’t manage to watch the entire thing..

More wingnut conspiracy junk…nothing to see here folks..
WTF IS GOING ON IN CALIFORNIA? THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT VIDEO YOU WILL EVER SEE ABOUT CALIFORNIA.

  2. John “Numbers 1 through 11 are a nullification of the rights and freedoms provided by the Constitution. That would/should be treasonous if it occurred within the borders of the United States.”

You do see this phenomenon occurring, right? Is it too much of a stretch to think that this could be consciously planned for nefarious purposes or does it seem more likely an organic occurrence or possibly both?

The word treason means literally to ‘hand over’ and what I’m seeing is our country literally being handed over. There is an awful lot of evidence to support this that people deride as ‘completely nuts’ which serves …. well not us.

  3. Linda Honan Sheldon,

Are you suffering from an identity crisis?

Why do you obsess into the affectation of three names?

    No, seriously. Why?

  4. spiral007,

Is every person in the world an American-In-Waiting?

Can you tax that into existence?

You can until Americans no longer allow it.

  5. Linda Honen Sheldon: Is there something here that you don’t normally find in your digital prison? I stepped out of mine because I got tired of preaching to the same old inmates. It’s a whole ‘nother world!

  6. Hildegard @ 3:18,

You reference the principle in the Communist Manifesto of “Social Engineering.” Numbers 1 through 11 are a nullification of the rights and freedoms provided by the Constitution. That would/should be treasonous if it occurred within the borders of the United States. Treason was very serious and penalized by Drawing and Quartering in 17th century Great Britain. America could use some Law and Order and penalty.

  7. spiral007,

If I go to China, will I be Chinese? If I take a burgeoning minority of Americans with me to China, will the Chinese become yellows? If millions of Middle Eastern people literally circumvent immigration and invade Europe, are they Europeans? If so-called Syrian “refugees” go to Germany, are they Germans? If you go to Africa, will you call Africans blacks?

Indians are Asiatics who came to America around the Alaskan Land Bridge. Asiatic Indians illegally invaded America without authority or documentation. Asiatic Indians conquered the land before Americans but they were nomadic savages with no formal governance, surveys, deeds or records and thus were vulnerable to the conquest doctrine of the era.

It is fraudulent and disingenuous of you to take history out of context.

  8. Whoops this is the one you surely WANT to see. The one I posted above explains exactly what the people at the Oregon refuge are fighting for. It’s all the same Agenda 21 beast.

  9. phillyT You seriously need to see THIS video if you want to know exactly HOW the constitution IS being taught in the public schools VIA Common Core VIA U.N. Agenda 21 VIA

I know you’d rather stay in your politically correct happy place but cmon Philly! Open your mind just a wee crack and you might be surprised at what you find.

  10. Lets go full circle.

Albright …”we have a military we might as well use it” ….. (For the globalist’s wars-nwo)

    Clinton…..”women are equal.”

Pentagon…..”women should be drafted.” _(and cannon fodder bc two men can be mom and dad with a mexican surogate)

Tptb Society ….”i do wed they husband and wife” (go procreate via ivf and donors)

Women….”who is going to provide for me and my kids?”

    Sanders….”government.”

Full circle….there are no longer any men…govt by sanders is the “men”.

There is a special place in hell for albright and clinton….if they support young women as cannon fodder ….. Or worse sexual assualt fodder (draft)

    1. J – I have always supported the drafted for women. For the last 20 years or so I have advocated that if the draft is re-instated, women be assigned to women only units. Young women have a tendency to sync to the alpha female in the group. Once they are all synced and trained, then when they are PMSing we send them into battle. Think of facing a division of PMSing women.

  11. I like the idea Darren expressed about staying congruent with the times and adapting to change.

So how about we stop quoting 18th century literature as if it was some kind of gospel?
How about we interpret the Constitution using the brains we have today instead of trying to decipher what the founders may or may not have thought about in their day? The Constitution was their best effort to establish a republic following the break from British colonialism. It is not sacred scripture delivered from the mind of god. Let’s not forget that they thought slavery was OK and that women were a form of chattel incapable of voting.

  12. What do you think?
    ~+~
I think these two women are demonstrating the need to rely on techniques of forty years ago that do not often compliment statuses quo of today. When most individuals have achieved success and notoriety in the past, and their fame is interlocked with this, they tend to remain in that past and find it difficult to evolve into today’s stage. They’ve also invested so much into their former personas or ideals, they cling to supporting these old notions to continue their own relevance.

By adapting their ways congruent to changes in society, they can remain just as relevant, but change can be difficult, especially when one steadfastly advocates only one particular method or approach.

Additionally, one of my largest complaints of these icons of the past is that they remain unwavering in the idea of continuing the perpetual victimhood they assign members of the class of individuals they claim they support. Sometimes this becomes the result of the rigidity I conveyed in the past paragraphs. Succinctly, they would be less relevant and garner less attention if everyone was equal. It is then necessary to perpetuate the victimhood notion.

I also find the statements of Ms. Steinem and Mrs. Albright here to be insulting, paternalistic, and an antithetical of the liberty they claim to advocate. And, ironically they are demanding that these young women voters who choose not to support their preferred female candidate is an attempt to drag these voters to a time which they have no direct knowledge of, that is the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. The new generation of voters does not think along those lines. Their lifetimes were such that the integration between women and men was probable the highest it has been in U.S. history. They are not going to identify with what Ms. Steinem and Mrs. Albright are pushing here. The further irony is that if the two are trying to ensure their own relevance, they are trying to do so be alienating a new generation of young woman who is going to regard them as a relic of the past that insults their own “right to choose.”

  13. Helena (Chap VI Second verse, same as the first: And behold unto Mankind the notion that Man is of one kind and Mary was of another. The Birth of Jesus was God divined and had no fury like a Gloria past.

  14. “To reiterate:

“The percentage of Americans in the U.S. population has reached an all-time low: 63%. That is 197.7 million Americans out of 313.9 million including foreigners.

In 2000, Americans were 69% of the population. In 1980, they made up 80%. But now American deaths outpace American births by 12,419, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

“This is the first time there has ever been an American population decrease in the U.S.,” demographer Kenneth Johnson told Bloomberg.””

John, I was going to let your comment go by, but you have repeated it a couple of times. When you say the % of Americans, do you mean
    1. The percentage of population born in America
or, 2. % of white Americans of European ancestry

    Please clarify,

also to your last paragraph, the last I checked the population of USA was still growing (through immigration etc) and if you want to exclude growth due to immigration, I suspect in the early years USA had the same problem as the hordes of European migrants were the one responsible for the increases in population.

Finally, do not forget that the ‘real’ Americans are the so called American Indians, and the European Americans are migrants or their descendants; so let us use labels with caution and clarity.

  15. John : I feel your angst over what’s happened to the family. It’s a true tragedy but can be remedied with THE TRUTH of how this came about. I came across this today and if you ask me, it’s SMOKING GUN evidence of a (dare I say) collaborative effort (CONSPIRACY) to destroy our very nature and make us sick pliable slaves.

    Here’s an excerpt:

“To further the advance of their ‘quiet’ cultural revolution – but giving us no idea about their plans for the future – the School recommended (among other things):

    1. The creation of racism offences.

    2. Continual change to create confusion

    3. The teaching of sex and homosexuality to children

    4. The undermining of schools’ and teachers’ authority

    5. Huge immigration to destroy identity.

    6. The promotion of excessive drinking

    7. Emptying of churches

    8. An unreliable legal system with bias against victims of crime

    9. Creating dependency on the state or state benefits

    10. Control and dumbing down of media

    11. Encouraging the breakdown of the family”

I cannot stress enough that people need to FINALLY wake up to this and REBEL as if they’re life depended on it because it does!!

  16. Mz. Steinem ignores reality in her pursuit of hedonism.

There is only one thing mankind can accomplish of lasting value – perpetuation of the species.

Everything else that man does will vanish. Look the “ghost town” planet of Mars.

Nature’s or God’s role for women is procreation.
    _____

    Genesis 1:28

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
    _____

The pragmatic lesson in that verse is survival. Some may find that important. Others, not so much.

Mz. Steinem encourages women to forget multiplication and seek only pleasure.

Oops. With a declining birthrate, America is being diluted out of existence and “fundamentally transformed” into extinction.
