Wasserman Schultz Booed Off Stage By Florida Delegation . . . But Given Job By Clinton Campaign

Wasserman SchultzHillary_Clinton_Testimony_to_House_Select_Committee_on_BenghaziFormer Democratic Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was booed of the stage by the Florida delegates today as anger continued to rise over emails showing that the DNC actively undermined Bernie Sanders and sought to rig the primaries for Hillary Clinton.  Yet, in coming DNC interim chair (and Clinton supporter) Donna Brazile is calling for Wasserman Schultz to have a role at the convention as a reward for her past work.  In an equally tone deaf response, Clinton has given Wasserman Schultz a formal job with her campaign — as opposed to the informal job that her critics have long alleged.  The fact is that Wasserman Schultz has from the start been the most controversial DNC chair in the party’s history — well before the entrance of Bernie Sanders.  Her tenure has been divisive and destructive for the party.  The effort to reward her by party insiders like Brazile and bring her into the Clinton campaign only reaffirms the disconnect with voters.

Wasserman Schultz discussed her new role for the Clinton campaign as delegated booed her and chanted “shame” over the now confirmed secret campaign for Clinton at the DNC.  She will be the honorary chair of her campaign’s 50-state program.  Clinton heralded the past work and future role of Wasserman Schultz:

“I want to thank my longtime friend Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her leadership of the Democratic National Committee over the past five years.  I am grateful to Debbie for getting the Democratic Party to this year’s historic convention in Philadelphia, and I know that this week’s events will be a success thanks to her hard work and leadership. . . . There’s simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie–which is why I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaign’s 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country, and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida, and in other key states.

“I look forward to campaigning with Debbie in Florida and helping her in her re-election bid–because as President, I will need fighters like Debbie in Congress who are ready on day one to get to work for the American people.”

I would think that this is stating the obvious but the Clinton people might have wanted to wait a bit before giving Wasserman Schultz a position with the campaign when delegates are protesting that she was working for the campaign all along.  One look at the Florida delegation (which is Wasserman Schultz’s most supportive group) confirms that obvious point:

How do you propose to do this? Apparently our justice system is so broken that the powerful corporations control it. We have been sickened by all the shenanigans during the Primary — and yet there are new revelations every day!! And don’t even get me started on voter fraud!!

  2. SMM,

All you seem able to do is to divert the discussion to Trump. I’ve never seen you condemn the horrific actions laid bare by these e-mails. Yesterday, you said you didn’t put stock into the Russian rumors because you are not a conspiracy theorist. Today, it’s Trump and Russia out to get the innocents at the DNC.

This is what you are defending: 1. voter disenfranchisement 2. money laundering, 3. FEC violations 4. collusion with the press to rig an election. Do I think the RNC and Trump engage in these activities? You bet! We don’t have the proof yet, but I’m sure it’s happening. What I can never understand is the basis of your upset with Trump. If you are upset with him for engaging in fraud, why aren’t you condemning Obama, Clinton and the DNC for doing the same things as Trump? It just doesn’t make sense. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it.

On your theory, you should applaud Trump for engaging in the same actions which Democrats engage in. Since it’s O.K. for one party, isn’t it O.K. for the other party? Why not?

The only military people to speak are:

    Gen. John Allen (ret. USMC)
Rear Adm. John Hutson (Ret. USN)

Vets and people currently serving in the military see through HRC.

  4. It doesn’t need to be excessive, but to create a “deterrent effect” against future fraud of this type, there needs to be a stiffer penalty for subverting the democratic process.

The “deterrent effect” to prevent similar fraud by future officials, of both parties, must be stiffer than being appointed to a new job.

This lack of substantial penaltyactually creates an “incentive” for future fraud of this type. There shoukd a price paid for cheating to win.

  5. I just watched the witch speak to the VFW as a veteran I’m angry that she was even allowed in the same room with these men and woman. They should have tossed her out. She actually had the nerve to tell them she supports our men and woman in the military. She tried to tell everyone how strong our military is when the world knows how badly Obacala, her and the democrats have neglected them. I can’t wait to see the cast of characters that are going to speak at their convention.

  6. SWM, can you zoom out a little bit here? The possibility of having emails hacked was the reason she wasn’t supposed to have state emails on an unsecured server to begin with. Everyone who said we were just picking on the battleaxe didn’t seem to understand the enormity of the transgression. You can bet if Russian hackers got into it, the Chinese have them fully extracted. SO… for those who thought the email server was just partisan name-calling should maybe change their tune. ?????????????. Heck, the paperboy down the street probably has them too.

  7. Squeek,

As horrible as those SWJ’s karma may be it had nothing to do with Bernie’s demise – that is the Clinton machine and the MSM’s consistent lack of coverage or bad coverage.

Hey, I just thought of an action — what if Bernieorbusters (including Jill Steiners) banded together with the Trumpsters and boycotted Amazon.com for a week or so.

Bezos has been equally hateful to Bernie and the Donald.

  8. Is it bad of me to say I am pleased her constituents booed her off the stage? I have not liked her for the 5+ years she was head of the DNC and she is one of the reasons I do not watch news shows. Donna Brazile is the other.

  9. Ordinary people’s credit card info has been stolen and their identities have been compromised.

  10. The FBI engages in a lot of cyber crime but they don’t seem to investigate that. It’s so interesting how they never do get around to investigating the CIA, NSA or themselves for cybercrime, just whistleblowers.

The FBI is supposed to investigate lots of things, yet they do not do so as required by law. They do exactly as they are told. They go after the enemies of the powerful whom they serve. That is all they do. This is not an example of lawfulness. It is more lawlessness indicative of the power which the oligarchy has in our nation. This isn’t a good thing. It’s a scary, unjust action.

  11. HRC:”I will need fighters like Debbie in Congress who are ready on day one to get to work for the American people”
Especially to bend over the poor people who deserve to pay 36% on their payday loans thanks to DWS.
    Cess pool meet sewer gravy

  12. Trump is an oligarch. Putin caters to the Russian oligarchs and they give him tremendous amounts of money. Yep ,just ordinary people………

  13. slohrrs29,

Thank you for writing about the FBI investigation. This is more proof of powerful oligarchs banding together to protect each other. It is incredibly significant that the FBI is not going after clear violations of campaign finance laws, aka, money laundering. There are clear violations of the law regarding the FEC. There are clear violations against voters. Yet the FBI cannot look into these things.

The oligarchy is above the law. Obama uses the FBI as his personal servants to go after his enemies– whistleblowers. Clinton shows that she also will use the tools of the state, not as they are intended, but to subvert the rule of law.

The oligarchy shows its utter contempt for ordinary people. That contempt is on full display in the e-mails and now with the additional use, not only of the press but of “law” enforcement agencies to do their bidding, they clearly show just how far they will go to keep people from understanding the level of their criminality. It is good that people are showing push back.

Incidentally, the DNC has been hacked many times before this latest hack occurred (by their own admission). Now that whistleblowers are involved, poof-the FBI has its new mission! The people must not be allowed to see the inner workings, the deep criminality of the oligarchy. Yet, there it is for all to see (but partisans).

There are thoughtful progressives, Heck, I am one myself on some issues. But these SJWs are the ones in the mobs shutting down the process. Remember the Chicago Trump Rally that got cancelled? Young college SJWs.
And a few DNC interns if the emails are correct!

For sure some Berniebots are like Trigglypuff just as some Trumpsters are KKK members. However the majority of us are all about the real issues – not this identity/social appropriation nonsense – justice has nothing to do with their “platforms” – spoiled brats concerned about dead white men on the reading list, food served in the cafeteria – those pansies would never participate in a march for fear of being locked up or pepper sprayed. They would never take a risk and stage an action — they cannot function outside their coddled comfort zones.

When I think SJW I think MLK, Jr., Howard Zinn, Cornel West, Nina Turner, Tim Black, Rosario Dawson, Tim Robbins, Oscar Romero, Julian Assange, Will and Mike (LTMB), Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning, etc.

  16. @DarkS

There is a difference between protesting and shutting down speech altogether. If you go to a James Taylor concert, do you expect to get up and sing? If you don’t like one of his songs, are you entitled to Trigglypuff-out during that song? Nope. Security will evict you, or the crowd around you, who paid $100 for their ticket, will shut you up.

There is an allowable public interaction during a speech or a song or a performance. People may applaud, or laugh if it is a joke, or even boo if you say or sing something they don’t like. But there is a difference between that and just plain disrupting the event. These SJWs actively try to disrupt the event and stop speech altogether.
