Wikileaks: Top Clinton Aides Detail “Expensive Gifts” and Unethical Deals By Clintons Through Their Foundation

bill_clinton_by_gage_skidmorecvt6lyevuaq0z7-jpg-smallWikileaks has issued new and troubling emails from its hacking of Democratic accounts. Top Clinton aide Doug Band sent emails that raised objections to the use of the Foundation by Bill Clinton over alleged conflicts of interest. He specifically mentions the giving of “expensive gifts” and other conduct from sponsors. At the same time, top Hillary Clinton aide, Huma Abedin, is found complaining about a “mess” created by Hillary Clinton in securing a massive contribution from the King of Morocco of $12 million allegedly in exchange (or with the expectation) for a meeting with her as part of an event for the Clinton Global Initiative May 2015.

The Band disclosure concerns the Clinton Global Initiative and a new business started by top Clinton aide Doug Band called Teneo Holdings. Both Band and Clinton’s held dual positions with Teneo and CGI. Bond wrote a November 17th email to John Podesta, Chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign and long-time Clinton confidant. He objected to Pedestal that “I signed a conflict of interest policy as a board member of cgi . . . Oddly, [Bill Clinton] does not have to sign such a document even though he is personally paid by 3 cgi sponsors, gets many expensive gifts from them, some that are at home etc. . . I could add 500 different examples of things like this.” Band was on the Clinton Foundation payroll through 2011, but, in June 2011, he and co-founder Declan Kelly, a former economic envoy for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, started Teneo in June 2011. They then made Bill Clinton a paid adviser. Chelsea Clinton was then appointed to the CGI board. Teneo then accepted money from groups like MF Global, a controversial brokerage firm that reportedly lost $600 million of investors’ money and had business deals that could be benefited by an association with the Secretary of State.

At the time of the emails, the Clinton campaign staff were worried that there were questions being asked abut the relationship between CGI and Teneo. Band comes across as defensive and accusatory. He indicated that he knew of far worse conflicts by Bill Clinton and demanded “How then do we go through an exercise like this and [Bill Clinton] doesn’t as he is far more conflicted every single day in what he does?” Band later raised a Hillary Clinton with even worse “issues.”

In the meantime, Abedin (who is generally viewed as Hillary Clinton’s closest aide) authored a startling email that suggested a type of quid pro quo by Hillary Clinton in a foundation trade-off with Morocco for $12 million commitment to meet with the King of Morocco. The critical memo came in January 2015 with two top advisers Podesta and Robby Mook. It appeared that after cutting the deal for the money, Clinton had gotten cold feet due to the election. Abedin wrote that “this was HRC’s idea” and “she created this mess and she knows it.” It was decided that Hillary Clinton who go to campaign in Nevada and California while they had Bill and Chelsea meet with the Moroccans. Morocco at the time was under great pressure for what the U.S. government denounced as “arbitrary arrests and corruption.”

The last presidential debate with moderator Chris Wallace was the first to seriously probe allegations of a “pay to play” scheme associated with the Foundation. Clinton did not respond directly to the allegations but these emails are likely to magnify the concerns in the final weeks of the campaign.

  1. Consequences of a life with no moral values. A friend of mine’s son was home on leave from the military. Like me strictly combat arms type,. paratrooper the whole bit. He had decided not to re-enlist for the six years needed to retire.

“I want to finish my degree program which is very difficult in combat arms. I don’t like much about the military any more we’re being treated like throw away parts with more on the shelf. But most of all I don’t want to take a bullet for Clinton. I’m waiting for the outcome as are a few more of my friends. Our oath is to the Constitution not the people nor the country – what’s that got to do with her group?. Nothing.”

Well…speaking of getting screwed that group retained the Military Conscription Program (Draft) That young soldier has the current GI Bill and saved his money. He doesn’t need much in the way of financial finish up two years and a third for a Masters. I advised him to take the student loan IF the loan rates are reasonable as there is no down side. Those who took it without realizing they had signed up to go from potential draftee to volunteer for military service when and where told to report are one category. His six year obligation is one ….twice. Almost half that time in the war zone with zero taxes he’s in good shape.

Question is if your kid was contemplating a student loan would you have the honesty to tell them the real price and the real risk?

Would you want them to take a bullet for a Clinton?

  2. As I say to those I encounter; The lesser of two evils, is still evil.
Hillary will side with Wall street, big business and the military. Say one thing to “us” deplorables and the truth to those whom she is beholden to.
    Trump, well, who knows.
My view is that with Hillary you get screwed for four(God forbid eight years) years.
With Trump you get to see him removed from office by the congress.
Better to vote for neither of them. There is no law that says you have to vote for either of them to “make you vote count.”
There is the green way with Dr. Stein.
    Just saying.

    1. Another crowning achievement for the Obama/Hillary Arab Spring initiative.
At least Hillary got a chuckle out of “we came, we saw, he died” as she laughingly responded to news of Gaddafi’s death.
There are online videos of that particular “chuckles with Hillary Ceasar” comment.

      1. Indeed, Darren has posted that one on occasion. And the others here wonder why other world leaders would prefer to see Trump as Prez?? That’s a tough one.

  3. And if the polls are right and I assume they are, women are not buying Trump’s lies. ABC News/WaPo poll: Clinton: 50% Trump: 38% Johnson: 5%

    1. LOL….please. These polls?

I just wish Democrats would actually be willing to inform themselves rather than bury their head in the sand when confronted with truths they dont want to face.

      1. Traditionally, candidates that are losing often claim the polls are rigged. I don’t see this year as being any different.

    2. Go hire more fake operatives to riot at Trump rallies and pretend to be Sanders supporters.

I truly hope to see Hillary Clinton rotting inside a prison.

    3. Let them have their little fantasy. Remember the Rassmusen polls that had Romney winning in 2012? As I recall, Obama sort of won that election 332-206 electoral votes.

It’s going to be the same this year, Rasmussen gas Trump ahead by 3 as of today, and IBD/TIPP Tracking has him up by 1. And literally every other poll has Clinton ahead by 5-11 points. Nate Silver has her ahead by 6 points with an 86.9% chance of winning.

As far as I can see, the only remaining question is how much of a hit Republicans take in the Senate and House and in the states. Personally I hope it’s a blowout, but kind of doubting that much will happen at the state level because the R’s have that so well gerrymandered at this point.

      1. You may well be right, Philly T.
As soon as Trump sewed up the GOP nomination, I felt that was as good as handing the election to Hillary.
Control of the Senate seems to be, IMO, about even odds.
Assuming that Hillary does win, and she has a
Democratic majority in the Senate, any future missteps will be BUSH 43’s fault.

  4. Broderick could very well be telling the truth. You are the one that is doing the gaslighting of all Trump’s victims. You can defend this perverted perpetrator all day. I have better things to do.

    1. LOL all his accusers just popped up a week ago after decades. Salma Hayek is a prime example of how this is all political stunts to fool stupid low information Democrat voters

  5. There you go again – Clinton always addressing possible misbehavior by Clinton, while ignoring the allegations of 10 women, the suit against his so-called university, his legally foolish claims that the media is engaged in libelous reporting about him.

      1. All of them clearly lying. Democrats are desperate. Creating this nonsense right before this election? With Clinton and Cosby there were accusations for a long time. Donald? Nothing. Until a month before election. Give me a break and open your eyes.

Salma Hayek is a prime example. Shes been attacking Trump for over one year now since start of GOP primary. Calling him every name in book. Never made any allegations. 2 days ago she comes out and says he groped her.

Clinton has a massive trail of women that has spanned decades.

These women accusing Trump are all liars.

            1. So did Hillary and Bill Clinton

Only difference is. Trump never had accusers all these decades. Clintons ALWAYS have had accusers….FOR DECADES.

Go ahead and ‘gaslight’ this victim Kirsten. Lets see that wicked hypocrisy reveal itself

  6. It all comes down to one thing. Who will do the least harm.

When your temperature drops after thinking of how corrupt Clinton is and how much she has gotten away with and how much she will get away with, study the past, present, and future with Clinton as President. Then, clear your head of hate and frustration. Now, reflect upon Donald Trump and imagine him as President. Imagine Trump as President not as a reaction to your hatred of Clinton but from a clear head. When you have stopped shaking you will probably be sick and might even mess your trousers. This is what they mean by being scared s*&tless.

Now, feeling secure that America has dodged a bullet, have yourself a good laugh. When you have stopped laughing from the relief of knowing that the idiot Trump will never be President and the horrors you imagined can’t happen, think about starting a petition to remove all concentrated funding from politics, overturning Scalia’s obscene rulings, limiting political donations to a $100 a registered voter, barring lobbyists from transferring any treasure whatsoever to politicians, in other words making our election process sacred. It probably won’t come from Clinton. Only a complete idiot would think that it would come from Trump.

    1. A petition? That and 3 dollars will buy you a cup of coffee.
Our country has been stolen by the least worthy among us. None of should accept this farce as an election or agree support whomever the corrupt corporate media tells us won.
Making decisions based on fear is a terrible idea.
