“They’re Young Adults. And They Make Stupid Decisions”: Bound Man Tortured On Film In Chicago As Assailments Scream “F–k White People” and “F–k Trump” [UPDATED]

chicago-victimTwo men and two women have been arrested after the filming of a young white man being tortured as what appears to be black assailants shout “f–k white people” and “F–k Donald Trump.” While the assailants appear African American as well as the woman filming the disgusting video for Facebook, the police refused to release the race of the arrested individuals or say whether this appears to be a hate crime. There has also been no statement from the Justice Department or agents dispatched to the Chicago to open a duel federal investigation as was the case in racially charged crimes in places like Ferguson, Missouri. The response from the local commander in Chicago is particularly curious. [UPDATE: A second video has surfaced showing the man forced to drink from a toilet.]

Police say that the young man was from the Suburbs and appears mentally ill. His hands appear bound and his mouth taped as the assailants cut and kick him. He cowers in the corner for the 28-minute video. Halfway through, a man says that the victim “represents Trump.”

chicago-victim-2The man’s parents in nearby Streamwood, Illinois said that the victim’s parents had not heard from him since December 31st.

When pressed about the absence of any word on a charge of a hate crime, Area North Detectives Commander Kevin Duffin said the department was considering whether race was a motivation and added “They’re young adults. And they make stupid decisions. That certainly will be part of whether or not we seek a hate crime to determine whether this is sincere or just stupid ranting and raving.” Young adults “make stupid decisions” to torture an innocent man on film? Is this really like standing up in a car through the sun roof in traffic or hopping freight cars? I do not recall the youth of culprits being factored into other alleged hate crimes. The use of “hate crime” charges remains controversial among some civil libertarians but the greatest concern is whether the charges appear sometimes based on not just legal but political factors.

I don’t care if he is mentally ill, nor do I care if the Aurora shooter, or that weird person who shot Gabby Hayes(???) is mentally ill either. Hang the SOBs!   7. Adult is the wrong term. They may be adult by age 18 and for some ready to be sent to wars with or without their consent but that also brings up being a citizen by accident of birth. Meanwhile where Gun Control is concerned they are children until age 20 years 365 days.. The honor is questionable as the men are forced to make a voluntary effort the women get to be aqdults as a free ride.

    But remember Heinleins comment there is no such thing as a juvenile delinquent for not being delinquent meaning living up to responsibilities is the trait of an adult Still for every juvenile offender there exists at least one adult delinquent.

    In this case a trait of adults is not making stupid decisions. Which means the phrase young adults making stupid decisions is a lame way to procide them cover of some sort.

    What they do portray is a gross inability to be classified as adults and the need to be treated as children and a failure of the current system in preparing children to become adults. Once again the USA proves it treats it’s dogs better than it’s own offspring. Benefits of a regressive left over system.

    Second comment. How much did George Soros and friends pay to fund this particular incident?

    .An adult commet now. BLM means much the same outcome regardless of which words the three letters signify. A complete disdain for adult responsibilities as a decent citizen of the country.

  8. I think nearly everyone can agree that if the races were reversed we’d hear about this endlessly for weeks and people would remember it for years (like Matthew Shepard, Trayvon Martin, etc.)

    The reason for that difference is because black, gay, etc. leaders are much more competent than those selected to represent whites (esp non-far-left whites) as a whole. The black, gay, etc. base demands that their leaders get things done and ditches those who just talk without delivering.

    The non-far-left white base doesn’t demand performance from their leaders and in fact can’t even conceive of performance being key. All they demand is that someone flatters them and tells them what they want to hear. Almost all leaders of the non-far-left white base are just grifters. The base’s intense Dunning Kruger and lack of integrity makes all that much worse.

    A week from now when this case is nearly forgotten, you’ll see I was right. Those prone to disagree now won’t have the integrity to admit then that I’m right now, but instead will keep enabling the same charlatans who never actually do anything.

      1. Shepherd was beaten to death in a botched robbery by two youths whose mind was focused on getting cash for methamphetamine. Trayvon Martin thought he’d have some fun beating up the neighborhood watch captain and discovered too late that the man was armed.

This is far from the only crime committed by black racists, but with the alternative media we are now getting to hear more about them.           2. He was photographed moments later by a neighbor. He was covered in blood. The neighbor was 30 feet away and testified that Martin was banging Zimmerman’s head on the concrete and beating him. The autopsy report revealed the estimated distance at which the shot was fired, all consistent with Zimmerman’s account. This isn’t that difficult to people who are not bound and determined to believe their own fictions.

                FWIW, I got a copy of When Prophecy Fails in the mail. I started reading it on Kindle, and one of the phases of cognitive dissonance, is that when dis-confirmation occurs, then the Believer just doubles down on the clearly erroneous belief. Sooo, even when a jury finds no evidence for murder, the believer can’t let go of the false belief, and still appears here on this website to defend the Thug, Trayvon Martin.

      On another note – I am a semi Luddite and know next to nothing about technology so I didn’t get your bandwidth issues when viewing videos – my husband said you most likely have internet access on your cell phone which is limited. So, I hope in my ignorance I did not come across as totally snarky. I will be happy to summerize for you.

      PS – I don’t even have a cell phone – refuse to have one as I don’t want to be “on” all the time and I would be. Spend too much time already on the lap top =)

As for too many theirs is a knee-jerk reaction to any crime (or the perception of a crime) committed against a minority by a white person that it is automatically a hate crime and indicative of a part of a generalized campaign by whites to repress minorities when it is not established that such acts were committed by racial motivation. Various politicians and many the left are very quick to pounce on the issue as being racist but when there is a reversal of roles they will often pretend that the incident didn’t happen and if they do address this they claim that further investigation is needed and it is not automatically a hate crime. You cannot have it both ways.

  14. The utterance of “F-K white people” during the commission of a violent felony against a white person is sufficient to establish probable cause for a hate crime charge or enhancement.

    Hate crime enhancements largely stem from establishing that the victim was a member of a class and the attacker’s attack was motivated at least in part by the victim’s class status or perceived status of the victim.

    If we compare elements to establish the crime of assault, or battery in some jurisdictions, it is necessary to prove intent. A person touching or otherwise injuring another person without intent to cause injury or harm, or in some statutes inchoate acts such as reckless or negligence, is not a prosecutable offense. But whether or not this was an intentional act is established for probable cause purposes when the suspect states that they are going to cause injury to that person and then causes that injury.

    Returning to the hate crime issue, the act of beating this man is clearly a felony assault and yelling out “F-K White People” that can establish a link to a hate crime since it is indicative of attacking a person for membership in a class denoted by race and the suspect showed malice toward that man due to his race.

    Yet, this could be argued certainly at trial that the utterance was an off the cuff remark, but if the suspect(s) can be shown during investigation to have other incidents of actions against white people, it makes the case more solid from a prosecution perspective.

  15. I think hate crime designations need to be applied equally, or not at all.

    I think these are the wages of promoting hatred and violence against conservatives. Tell people often enough that anyone who is conservative, or anyone who votes for Trump, is evil often enough, and those without sufficient critical thought will believe it. Just watch the mainstream media. Those anchors actually believe half the country is evil. And then you get crimes like this.

    Personally, I think all crime is a “stupid decision”, so I don’t see how that’s relevant to whether it’s a hate crime or not.

  16. Young adults are not the only ones making stupid decisions. When the media and academia demonize Trump supporters, it becomes easier to justify and, hence, do violence on Trump supporters. When President Obama criticizes America’s past here and in foreign countries, he makes it easier for the crazies in ISIS or Al-Qada to justify violence against Americans. On the other side of the political spectrum, dehumanizing African-Americans makes segregation more palatable and lynching less barbaric. Hyperbole has its limits. Beyond those limits, words can be dangerous. We all need to be careful in using them.

  18. Considering that there have been cases of people acting against their own race while pretending the crime was committed by another race, it could be the case here. So glad most of you have agreed this is a hate crime to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Just in case the “too young to prosecute” turns out, as it has in so many cases, to be protection of young white men who do stupid stuff and should get off so their lives aren’t ruined.

    1. Bettykath – you can see from the screen shot in the article that the perpetrators were African American.

      However, there have been cases of intense prejudice of Caucasians against white voters and other Caucasians, too. I was recently told, very earnestly, by a hard Liberal relative that I was born racist because I’m white, regardless of how I actually feel about minorities. She’s white too. She also thinks that white men are the worst. Like with anyone gone mad over politics, you just have to ease carefully away and extricate yourself from racist, bigoted conversations like that.

      The video should absolutely be investigated and any and all crimes prosecuted fairly.

      If that man really was handicapped or mentally ill, there are just no words to express my horror. Kidnapping anyone, and torturing them for days over his race, and the politics of other people, is not just racist…it’s insane.

    Look, we’ve been watching as Chicago experienced a horrific decline in public order in the last two years. They have ample police manpower, but the police are distracted by paperwork and hanging out at the doughnut shop because doing their jobs is penalized. The responsible parties are the local news media, who make hay about the mishaps and frictions that are inevitable in attempting to contain social pathology in loci like the west side of Chicago; of black politicians, who sit there in silence while the worst among them grab the megaphone handed to them by the local media; of Mayor Emanuel, whose failure of leadership is colossal; and of the Chicago officers getting the promotions under the regime of the stupids. That’s the police chief and that’s the flatfoot you quote.
