New Emails Show Unsuccessful and Unrelenting Pressure on Barr and Rosen from Trump to Intervene in the Election

Newly released emails show the pressure brought by the White House on both former Attorney General Bill Barr and his brief successor, acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, to intervene in the 2020 election.  Both Barr and Rosen refused to intervene and pushed aside numerous efforts to arrange meetings with Trump counsel and to file federal complaints.  What is astonishing is the degree to which these pressures continued in the brief period in which Rosen served as acting Attorney General in the final days of the Administration.

The emails given to the House Oversight Committee show how Barr refused to give credence to the electoral fraud claims of individuals like Rudy Giuliani before Trump forced him out in the waning days of the Trump Administration. The pressure was then brought on Rosen to do what Barr refused to do including filing a complaint drafted by the Trump legal team. The pressure was highly inappropriate and Rosen continued the position of Barr in refusing special efforts.

When Barr was pushed out by Trump after public attacks, it appeared entirely gratuitous and unnecessary.  After all, there were only a few days left to the Administration. However, it now appears that Trump counsel used the substitution to resume the pressure for an intervention. Many of the emails reference the theory that Dominion Voting Systems were used to change votes and the more recently discussed theory that Italy was using satellites and military technology to change votes.

The pressure on Rosen came from a number of sources, including Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, who asked about investigating the Italian satellite allegations.  When Meadows’ email was forwarded by Rosen to Rich Donoghue, the acting deputy attorney general, Donoghue wrote back that it was “pure insanity.” Rosen responded that he was pressed to arrange a meeting between the FBI and a Giuliani associate, but refused. He told them to use the FBI tip line — a suggestion that Rosen recounted was viewed as “insulting” by Giuliani.  It was a clear message that there would be no back channel to the DOJ.

What is troubling is that the pressure on Rosen started as soon as Barr announced his resignation for later that month.  This included the sending of a draft complaint for the Justice Department to file to “declare that the Electoral College votes cast” in the six battleground states that Trump lost “cannot be counted.”  The draft was reportedly sent to Acting Solicitor General Jeffrey Wall and is highly unusual and, in my view, highly improper.  One email leaves no question of where the pressure is coming from, stating “As I said on our call, the President of the United States has seen this complaint, and he directed me last night to brief AG Rosen in person today and discuss bringing this action,” he wrote in one email. “I have been instructed to report back to the President this afternoon after this meeting.”

Not only do the emails further vindicate Barr in this protection of the integrity of the Department but the disclosures follow Attorney General Merrick Garland adopting some of the Barr positions previously denounced as raw political abuses by legal experts on networks like CNN and MSNBC.

  1. Best comment about Critical Race Theory:

“Critical Race Theory is bigoted. It is a lie. And it is every bit as racist as a Klansmen in white sheets.” T. Cruz

        1. Bug, it is pretty stupid to agree with Anonymous the Stupid on this point. Like Cruz or hate him, most will agree he is intellectually superior than most. Since Critical Theory and Critical Race Theory have both been taught in law school one can guess he knows a lot.

          1. Cruz bails to Cancun in the middle of a huge atmospheric crisis in Texas.

            That strikes you as smart?

            Good judgment?

He’s just another dumbass semi-white man, voted in by white men.

A few brain cells removed from Alex Jones.

            1. The optics weren’t good, but that is what Ben plays on. Ben can’t deal with real things like the economy and unemployment.

              1. I’m fine on the economy and unemployment.

Trump inherited a booming economy and a rapidly descending unemployment rate from Obama, who had fixed the damage done by Bush43.

The Great Recession and two wars and all that.

Trump inherited good numbers going up and bad numbers going down and the shit all over the table.

                Tanked the economy.

Shot unemployment to levels that made Herbert Hoover want to run home and slap his grandma.

When I was younger the Republicans were stuffy and self righteous but at least they made the trains run on tmie.

                Not anymore.

                1. “I’m fine on the economy and unemployment.”

We know you are. You are also fine with slavery, war, benefits to Russia denied to Americans.

Your fine with anything that supports those who hate America and wish to replace it with a new-Marxist or some other fascist regime.

You are also fine with your ignorance that permits you to post things that you cannot defend except with your typical bluster

            1. Anonymous the Stupid has linked to an article of fiction he keeps in his bathroom for stimulation of an inactive mind.

    1. Critical Racists’ Theory presumes diversity [dogma] (i.e. color judgment), not limited to racism, sexism, ageism.

    2. Ted Cruz? really? The guy whose credibility is as good as that of Don Quixote? That’s hilarious. S. Meyer you nave never read CRT and neither has Ted. That much as been obvious from the start.

      1. Svelaz, it seems most people on the blog have an idea of what CRT is. You are not one of them and you demonstrate that all the time by avoiding any intelligent thought on the subject.

Like him or hate him, Ted Cruz is one of the most intelligent people in government and has an honest point of view. You wouldn’t recognize that because you rely on cartoons rather than the written word.

        1. Anonymous SM,

“ Svelaz, it seems most people on the blog have an idea of what CRT is.”

Having an idea of what CRT is and actually knowing what it is after reading it are two very different things.

Your “idea of what it is” is not based on what you have allegedly read. It’s based on what others who have “heard” what it is by others who have relied on ignorant pundits and think tanks who say without reading it like you say it is. It’s a vicious cycle of ignorance that you seem trapped in.

Ted Cruz the most intelligent person in government? BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

Ted Cruz is a certified idiot.

          1. “Having an idea of what CRT is and actually knowing what it is after reading it are two very different things.”

You should take that to heart Svelaz because everyone knows that you are unable to discuss CRT, so once again I will take the lead and then you can run off to wherever you go.

CRT wishes to replay equality (under the law) with equity and the individual with the group. Where have we seen that before?

            SM

          2. Svelaz: “Ted Cruz is a certified idiot.”

            **

I wonder who did that certification? At least one Harvard law school professor who did not share his politics described him as one of the most brilliant students he ever had.

But, sigh, another professor said the same of Obama, but he did share Obama’s views and politics is all these days.

Whatever the case, I have listened to Senator Cruz a number of times and came away thinking he truly is brilliant. I also thought he isn’t good at disguising his intelligence, he fairly oozes his awareness of it, and I think that hurt him just a little when he was running for president.

It is a peculiarity of a democratic people that they want their leaders to be smart, but only in a way that lets us imagine we are smart too. Senator Cruz certainly isn’t an idiot but he might too often make others feel like idiots.

On the other hand, Biden gives room for all of us to be geniuses, or at least not yet senile. He is kept on rather a short leash by his handlers, like a goofy old dog that will soil the carpet if not closely watched.

            1. I know, right? Totally crazy when Biden suggested twice to send early positive tested Covid victims to Gitmo! And when he was shown a night map of Seoul and said all the residents would have to move so he could bomb North Korea! Most especially when Biden suggested injecting bleach to treat Covid!! That Biden guy is just off the hook!

              eb

              1. Yeah and how about Biden losing a $25 million lawsuit for defrauding students with his Trump University?

Or shagging some sad stripper and then paying her $130,000 to keep her mouth closed and getting his attorney Michael Cohen thrown into prison as the fall guy?

Or Biden getting fined $2 million for stealing from his own charity?

                How about that guy.

                Oh that guy is Trump.

                Desole. Mea culpa.

                1. i still maintain that the thing about the whole Stormy situation that really set him off was the fact she put him on speaker in front of her porn friends.

                  1. Bug, you are jealous because you aren’t getting what you want whether if be women or something else.

                    1. Allan gets accused of something, waits two days then accuses everyone else of it because in the ensuing two days he had to invent it from scratch in his super huge brain.

                      eb

                    2. Bug, you are the one that keeps talking about Stormy and that was an hour earlier not 2 days ago. But you always have Anonymous the stupid there to make your ignorant and erroneous claims look good. ATS loves the word “projecting”. I wonder if he is a flasher.

                    3. Netflix is said to have a new series on dating Fuzzies. Would that interest someone who chooses ‘Bug’ for a moniker?

                    4. One of the things I found interesting is that after the election Stormy had a thriving business of public appearances at strip clubs – signing autographs for and getting her picture taken with Trump supporters.

Trump’s actual supporters wanted their own tiny peice of the woman who was with Trump.

Can you say that about Wienstein ? Or Epstein ? or Franken ? or Edwards ?

                  2. You tell me that I must care that Trump had tame vanilla consensual sex with an adult, but that I should not care when young boys are given sex hormones to make them into girls ?

                    1. “You tell me that I must care that Trump had tame vanilla consensual sex with an adult, but that I should not care when young boys are given sex hormones to make them into girls ?”

One involves a public official who happens to be the president. That “vanilla consensual sex with an adult” was while he was married. An affair to be clear. Wasn’t it during the Clinton administration that such a notion was worthy of an impeachment for republicans? After all it was also a “vanilla consensual sex with an adult”.

The other is about private individuals making medical decisions about genuine private issues that concern none else but their immediate families and their doctors. Why do politicians insist on intruding into the private lives of such individuals? Wasn’t that what Reagan was opposed to? Government intrusion into private lives? Yet we have those very people readily doing what they preached against.

                    2. “One involves a public official who happens to be the president. ”

Still failing at honesty. Trump was not president at the time.
Bill Clinton was President when he was felated int he oval office by an intern.

                      Get your facts straight.

“That “vanilla consensual sex with an adult” was while he was married. An affair to be clear. ”
That question was answered with the 1992 election – there is no need to relitigate it 30 years later.
We elected Bill Clinton as president – despite plenty of evidence that he regularly cheated on his wife.
Given what has been learned since – I would hope you know beleive Wiley and Brodrick when they say they were sexually assulted by Clinton.

“Wasn’t it during the Clinton administration that such a notion was worthy of an impeachment for republicans?”
Clinton was impeached for lying under oath – twice. For obstructing justice – several counts, by coercing witnesses to lie, and destroying evidence.

“After all it was also a “vanilla consensual sex with an adult”.”
Perjury has never been consensual sex. Nor has suborning perjury.

I though you promised an HONEST conversation ?

“The other is about private individuals making medical decisions about genuine private issues that concern none else but their immediate families and their doctors.”

Except that is NOT what is happening. First and foremost – we have accepted that kids can not consent to sex and many other things.
If a child demanded to amputate their own arm – would you allow that ? If their parents agreed – would you allow that ?

We rant and rave about Genital mutilation of Girls in north africa – yet that is precisely what you are doing.
Nor are you interested in debate or discussion about this. You have jumped straight to irreversable homones and surgery.

For most of history – the Transgendered have been men wanting to be women.
But arround 2013 – first in the UK and then the US – a mad rush of women looking for FTM sex changes exploded.
Concurrently anorexia and Bulima nearly vanished.

If an actual adult chooses to change their outward sexual presentation – I do not give a crap. If they are making a mistake – it is their mistake to make. And honestly I do not care much. I do not care if most adults who transition come to regret that choice. People make bad choices all the time, and are stuck with the consequences. And if they are happy – thats OK with me too.

But as a society long ago we detemined that kids are NOT free to make their own choices. If you touch the genitals of an underage person it is sexual assualt – even if they ask you to.
We have myriads of requirements and restrictions on the liberty of kids.
If you wish to debate those – I am game. I might even agree to relax some. I do not have nor claim to have all the answers regarding kids.
But we do have law, and past experience and it is unwise to suddenly throw that into chaos. Because suddenly children started to display neurosis and anxiety in a new way.

“Why do politicians insist on intruding into the private lives of such individuals?”
Your the one seeking to do that – so please explain why ?
Whether it is Trump’s private sex life – or his business deals – also with consenting adults – they are still his private life and not your business.

“Wasn’t that what Reagan was opposed to? Government intrusion into private lives?”
                      Yup.

“Yet we have those very people readily doing what they preached against.”

You. Are you prepared to be HONEST ?

                2. Ben, you continue to rant and rave making mistakes all the way and then repeating them after you have been corrected. I guess that is better than plagiarizing someone else’s work intertwining it in with your own and then lying about it.

Let’s take one of your points:

Though I believe most universities today defraud students the suit against Trump was dropped for lack adequate proof to win and provide income for the lawyers. When Trump ran for President a bunch of ambulance chasers figured that Trump might be forced to settle a case he clearly would have won. That happened elsewhere as well and now one of the attorney’s that went after Trump is in jail.

Fools like you are a dime a dozen.

                  SM

                  1. Seriously Allan??? Trump settled because if he didn’t he was going to have get deposed and go under oath right before taking office. Little experiment proposition…, let’s wait a bit untill the information comes out about how much he stole from his inauguration fund. My guess is it’s at least 25 million (what the Trump university settlement was).

Impressed with your delusional skills, buddy.

                    eb

                    1. Bug, the information was out long before the $25 million settlement and that information explained why it was a losing proposition for attorney’s to sue. You are demonstrating the same type of ignorance you had about your hip surgery and finding the money to pay for it.

                    2. IT was a losing proposition for attorney’s to sue because Trump is a crook and was guilty as sin.

No one who is innocent concedes a $25 million judgment.

                      Ever.

                      And still he got elected.

And people say Biden is dishonest.

Biden’s net worth is $9 million – a lot less than all the money Trump lose in one judgment.

                    3. You can speculate about why Trump settled all you want.

                      But you can not know.

I suspect Trump would have been deposed eventually.

But depositions would have been limited to Trump’s personal knowledge of matters germain to the lawsuit.

The CORE argument in the lawsuit was that Trump U delivered motivational speakers to people who signed up for Trump’s secrets to getting rich curriculum.

Given that the secret is hard work, motivational speakers are the most qualified instructors.

The alleged “fraud” here is in plain sight. It is not secret. What is the damning secret you expect from depositions ?

There is no actual disagreement over the relevant facts.

                    4. Those of you on the left spray this nonsense all the time.

You define fraud as any effort that I disapprove of.

The secret to getting rich is no secret – it is working your ass off.

That is what Trump U taught.

There is no fraud – just an answer you do not like.

That is typical of all left wing fraud allegations – they are not actual fraud.
They are just answers that the left does not like.

                    5. If Trump defrauded Trump U participants – what was the fraud ?

He took money to teach them the secret to getting rich.
The secret taught at Trump U was – work your ass off.

                      Is that fraud ?

                    6. Awesome. John Say went to Trump University. Sometimes this blog is just too spectacular.

                      eb

                    7. “Awesome. John Say went to Trump University. Sometimes this blog is just too spectacular.”

Nope. Nor would I have. I did not expect that Trump has some magic secret to success to sell – so why would I pay to buy what I already know ?

Further – I am not willing to do what it takes to be a billionaire – I am ambitious – but not that ambitious.

I do not envy Trump or Gates, or Mush or Bezos. I do not want to be them.

I am happy as I am. I have ambitions – but not of their size.

At the same time – I do not hold their ambitions against them, nor pretend that but for massive hard work they would not be where they are.

If you envy them – that is your problem. I don’t.

                    8. Say says: “I do not envy Trump or Gates, or Mush or Bezos. I do not want to be them. I am happy as I am. I have ambitions – but not of their size.”

I never wanted to be a millionaire, just live like one.

                      Jeff Silberman

                    9. “I never wanted to be a millionaire, just live like one.

                      Jeff Silberman”

Good for you. But still a non-sequitur.

Follow the actual argument. I was accused of attending Trump U – I did not.
Your excerpt was part of an actual refutation of both that claim and that reasoning.

                    10. If you make a bad joke – you should expect it to be shredded.

Besides – you are on the left – you have no sense of humor.

Saying you were joking is one common left wing nut response to being caught in a lie or a lousy argument.

                    11. You should be grateful that Ben Marcus is Jewish because Jews have a good sense of humor which undoubtedly accounts for his amusement in putting up with you!

                      JS

                    12. I do not presume that anything “Ben” says about anything is true.

                      Jewish ? Maybe.

There have already been numerous claims regarding his life that are self contradictory – but I do not care whether some of his claims about himself are true or not.

I care about his arguments – they are abysmal and infantile. If he is old enough to have done some of what he claims – he has never matured.

And why should I be grateful ?

What is Ben going to do to me ? I think even nutacha makes better arguments.

BTW according to DNA tests I am 17% Ashkenazi Jew – aparently the stories about my great grandmother and the jewish doctor are True.

                    13. So you beleive that there are racial differences in our abilities ?

                      Doesn’t that make you a racist ?

                    14. John Say: how do you know what was taught at Trump University? Do you know the ‘course material’? Or are you just talking out of your ass like usual?

                      eb

                    15. None of this is secret.

Are you entirely clueless about the lawsuits ?

Regardless – I take the plaintiffs at their word. I would further note – I beleive 60 minutes did a story on this.

                3. “Yeah and how about Biden losing a $25 million lawsuit for defrauding students with his Trump University?”
The suit was settled – Trump did not lose.

Further Trump U provided students exactly what they promised.

The secret to success – is hard work.

Go into any bookstore – there is a whole section on “get rich quick schemes”

They all share two attributes – they actually work most of the time, and they require incredible amounts of hard work and motivation.
And that is what Trump U said.

“Or shagging some sad stripper and then paying her $130,000 to keep her mouth closed”
                  So ?

“and getting his attorney Michael Cohen thrown into prison as the fall guy?”
Cohen went to prison for tax fraud and lying about it on a venture that Trump was not a part of.

“Or Biden getting fined $2 million for stealing from his own charity?”
The Trump foundation unlike the Clinton foundation is a PRIVATE trust – not a charity. You can not steal from your own private trust.

All you have done is prove that after 5 years of relentless digging into Trump’s private life – you came up with nothing.

While minor scrutiny off Biden’s PUBLIC life is extremely troubling.

                  1. “While minor scrutiny of Biden’s PUBLIC life is extremely troubling.”

Indeed it is. And yet, where are the media digging into and reporting on ANY of it?

                    Crickets.

This is why Trump was right again to call them out as being Fake News, Enemy of the People.

                    Because they are.

              2. Bug- You like spearing straw men of your own making. I don’t think you are impressing anyone here.

                1. Good thing that I don’t care at all whether I impress anyone here then, ay Young? I leave it to the fat orange hog to impress you guys.

                  eb

                  1. “Good thing that I don’t care at all whether I impress anyone here then”

Don’t worry Bug, you don’t. Whether you talk about your hip surgery or working in a lab at Yale you are not impressive. In fact at times you sound like a loser which isn’t a nice thing to say to anyone except if they keep trying to falsely impress others. It seems the big talkers from the left all tell tall tales and all are trying to prove their intelligence to others.

                    1. The intellectuals on the left prove their intelligence by voting for intelligent, competent presidents and not voting for incompetent, money and power-greedy vulgarians.

                    2. I completely agree that the person those on the left voted for is a reflection of their own intelligence.

The left has elected the first Senile president.

                    3. Biden is old but he’s hanging in there and it’s the team around him that matter.

And the team around him is the Dream Team.

Fixing the country as fast as they can.

                    4. “Biden is old but he’s hanging in there and it’s the team around him that matter.”
Agreed – and his team is a bunch of stupid clueless children.

:”And the team around him is the Dream Team.”
Your dream – a natuional nightmare.

“Fixing the country as fast as they can.”

Pretty much everything wrong with this country is wrong with our government.
That is where we are all divided.
If you actually want to fix the country – you need LESS government.

                    5. The fact is that if you remember anything I say that you’re paying attention. And I truly don’t care what people think of me here. Yeah, I chime in a lot on topics when I am here…, but I’m here for observation purposes mainly.

Now go ahead and ask me what I’m observing.

                      eb

                  2. I am more bothered that you can not get your facts straight.

You do not know the difference between a settlement and a loss.

Or between a private trust and a public charity.

Or between Cohen’s conduct and Trump’s.

So long as you are not doing so in the scripts you are purportedly writing – I do not care.

I actually like your quotes because in between the spin the FACTS refuted your arguments.

The FACT that you exist only in a world of spin and partical truths is damning.

A settlement is not an admission of fraud.

I would remind you that in EVERY settlement – both sides agree not to force their claim in court.

Was accepting ONLY 25M an admission of error on the part of the plantifs ?

                    3. John Say,

True – but that did not happen.”

The settlement or the loss of $25 million? Obviously a settlement happened. You state paying out $25 million is a loss is true. That’s some sloppy mental gymnastics there.

“Bleach has been used successfully to treat Covid.”

Not inside the body as the president suggested. The direct quote was, “”And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?

“So it’d be interesting to check that.”

The board behind him had several suggestions for fighting COVID and one included “using commonly available disinfectants (Bleach, Isopropyl alcohol) work to kill the virus”

Remdesivir has been used successfully to treat Covid. Bleach has been successfully used to KILL Covid….on flat surfaces and other areas where people come in contact often. Disinfectants are not even meant to be applied to the skin.

” A private trust is not a public charity”

Not exactly true. An express trust is either public or private. A public trust, also known as a charitable trust, is an express trust created for a charitable purpose. If an express trust is not a charitable trust, it is deemed to be a private trust. A private trust is an express trust created to benefit a few persons. A charitable trust is treated as a private foundation unless it meets the requirements for one of the exclusions that classifies it as a public charity.

                      Facts indeed to matter.

                    4. Please learn to read.

                      The settlement did happen.
                      It was for $25M
There was no admission or finding of fraud.
A settlement is not inherently a loss – if it is then it was a loss for the plantiffs too.

So in a statement with 4 components – 1 is false, a 2nd is probably false and 2 are true.

The logic result is the statement is FALSE.

When you make a statement asserting 4 facts – if ONE is false the statement is false.
                      It is called logic.

                    5. “”Bleach has been used successfully to treat Covid.”

“Not inside the body as the president suggested.”

FALSE – The published medical study using more than 1000 subjected involved an IV with a mixture of medicines – one of the more significant of which was an OXIDIZER – aka BLEACH

“The direct quote was, “”And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?”

And where is Lysol or Clorox mentioned in your quote ?

You are both incorrect with regard to the study – as I noted there is an actual published study where “bleach” was used – internally.
Most oxidizers are also called bleaches.

And you are incorrect – with respect to the direct quote you used – Your quote does not have Trump saying Bleach or lysol or chlorox.

You promised to be HONEST before – can you do that now ?
You are wrong – own up to your error.

                    6. ““So it’d be interesting to check that.”

The board behind him had several suggestions for fighting COVID and one included “using commonly available disinfectants (Bleach, Isopropyl alcohol) work to kill the virus””

                      Ah, the board behind him.
Did the board behind him say that they were injecting isopropyl alcohol ?

So you and the press jumped to the conclusion that two things that Trump did not connect together were related.

                      Again – you promised HONESTY.
Please correct your misstatements and false assumptions.

                    7. ” A private trust is not a public charity”

Facts do matter. And your claims are as usual incorrect and incomplete.

O do not know where you got the nonsense you spouted – but you are incorrect – either in part or in whole.

I can not tell for sure – because you are on a total tangent to the IRS rules for Trusts.

First a Trust is a gigantic term that encompasses many many things.

A private trust is a subset of that.
A family trust is a subset of that.

Family trusts – with the Trump trust was, are tax exempt and can be used for whatever purposes the trust documents provide.

                      I have ligated trusts.

A federal judge has approved a $25 million settlement deal between President Trump and students who paid for Trump University real estate seminars, bringing lengthy litigation to a close.

The deal, which calls for Trump to reimburse the students who say they were defrauded, was struck in November but needed approval from U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel. He signed off on the settlement Friday in San Diego.

Trump doesn’t admit any wrongdoing under the terms of the settlement.

The settlement applies to three separate lawsuits — two class-actions and a fraud case. The $25 million deal includes payouts to more than 6,000 Trump U students who paid thousands of dollars for courses they describe as worthless.

One student had pushed against the deal, as The Associated Press reports:

“The only holdup appeared to be a Florida woman’s claim that she should be allowed to opt out of the settlement and sue the president on her own — a move that would likely scuttle the entire agreement.

“Attorneys for former customers said that their clients would get at least 90 percent of their money back under the deal, based on the roughly 3,730 claims submitted. …

“Curiel said the high payments weighed in favor of approval and he noted that only two of about 7,000 eligible class-action members objected to the terms.”

                  Article continues after sponsor message

You may recall that on the campaign trail, Trump accused Curiel of being biased because he is “Mexican.” That claim was false — Curiel was born in Indiana — and even House Speaker Paul Ryan acknowledged that it was “sort of like the textbook definition of racism.”

Trump doubled down on the comments before saying he wouldn’t talk about Curiel any more.

Curiel had urged both sides to settle.

And what about the fraud allegations that underpin these lawsuits?

NPR’s Ina Jaffe reported last year that students paid $1,500 to $35,000 for courses on “real estate investment secrets” ostensibly taught by instructors handpicked by Trump.

“They claim that the promised Donald Trump investment techniques were mostly stuff that you could find on the Internet, some of which was illegal in some of the states where the seminars took place,” she said. “They say that the promised mentoring was worthless or nonexistent, that the instructors were unqualified and that they were definitely not handpicked by Donald Trump, as he claimed.

“And transcripts of Donald Trump’s deposition … confirm that he was relatively unengaged with what went on in Trump University.”

Trump’s lawyers said the allegations are false.

NPR’s Jim Zarroli spoke with an unhappy Trump University customer who said he paid $35,000 for “secrets” such as the fact that he could go to the IRS website to learn about federal tax deductions.

“The more and more I got involved in Trump University, the more and more I found out that I had truly been scammed,” Bob Guillo, 76, told NPR.

“At first it was embarrassing,” Guillo said. “Then I became very, very angry that the man that scammed me out of all that money had the audacity to run for president. And I’m still angry.”

                  1. “𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 $𝟐𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 “𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧.””

Ben, when you want to buy a drink in a cheap bar and you barely have $5, just a few extra zeros taked on makes all the difference in the world.

                    1. “taked on?”

                      You make no sense.

No one settles a lawsuit for $25 million if they aren’t guilty.

If they aren’t guilty, they fight it.

                      Simple as that.

                    2. “No one settles a lawsuit for $25 million if they aren’t guilty.”

Of course they do. Happens all the time.

I was personally part of several settled lawsuits.
Including ones I could have easily won on appeal.

                    3. There is – look in the mirror.

You have bought such a long list of lies.

And still you buy even more nonsense from the same people who lied to you constantly.

You can not seem to make a case for ANY issue.

I can itemize the long list of things you have been wrong about.

But you can not even manage to get something right when YOU choose the topic.

You pushed this Trump U nonsense – it does not fly.

It was settled – no judgement, no decision, no victory, just a settlement.

We all know and agree what the core fraud claim is.

Trump U taught “the secret to success” using motivational speakers.

                      Pretty straight forward.

We can all agree on the facts.

It is ALSO a fact that the core attribute for success is hard work.

Of all the people in the world those most skilled at teaching hard work – are motivational speakers.

So where is the fraud ?

There is none. You know it.

No one would have sued Trump U had Trump staffed the place with Real Estate lawyers.
                      Or professors of economics.

Yet none of those would have left their students any more able to succeed than when they started.
                      That would have been fraud.

                    4. You are proven wrong every time but you can’t see it.

                      PEarls before swine.

I wish that Darren dude would ban me.

This is waste of time, arguing with Trumpers.

                      He lost:

                      The $25 million lawsuit.

                      The election.

                      Etc,.

                    5. “You are proven wrong every time but you can’t see it.”

Ben arguing with you is not a fair fight.

You have “wiped out” constantly – and you are not even self aware enough to grasp that.
Hopefully you have burned your mind out with too many drugs – otherwise your lack of awareness is seriously disturbing. ‘

“I wish that Darren dude would ban me.”

I hope he does not – you are entertaining. You are a useful idiot.

You can be counted on to make a stupid and easily turned argument.

You are not much of a challenge.

In surfing terms – if I get this right – you are a “kook on a foam board”

                      You are not a challenge.

                    6. From the article: “Lawyers eventually filed three separate lawsuits from 2010 to 2013 against Trump University”

…And the suits went nowhere until an ambulance chaser knew he had a settlement in the making. Bug, thank you for proving my point.

                    7. Why would anyone trust american progress ?

Regardless – why do we need “another take” ?

All we need is the FACTS – without the SPIN.

The FACT is that there was no fraud.

                      Trump U met its obligations.

It taught what it agreed to teach – how to succeed, how to “get rich”.

The secret is drive, hard work, determination.

                      Nothing new.

What is disturbing is that those who enrolled in Trump U did not know that to start.

                    8. Insurance companies routinely settle lawsuits they could win simply because of the accounting. They don’t care who is liable. They care what it will cost them. It is not unusual for an insured to be very angry with an insurer who presses to settle when they know very well they could win and, they think, protect their reputation.

Settlement isn’t proof of anything except settlement.

                    9. There’s no way that lawsuit would have cost more than $25 million.

They settled because they were guilty and wrong, and Trump is a crook.

                    10. Ben, to you $5 is a lot of money for any endeavor. It isn’t that way for a lot of people.

                    11. Right Ben, and when you are finished cleaning up the house you go back to your room in the garage.

                    12. Nope, sorry, writing the novelization for Bubblehead right now.

When I’m done doing that, I go surfing.

Then I go to the Oyster Place.

And working on a Malibu history book with the son and husband of the woman who played Daphne on Frasier.

                    13. Ben, When my grandmother was in her late 80’s she used to go belly surfing in the ocean. You probably use your belly as a flotation devise.

Afterwards you go to the oyster place for peanut butter and jelly that they put outside for those who help clean up the outside mess.

                    14. Yeah right you’re probably stuck in some tundric cul de sac in Ohio, going back to the same dumb job in some dumb office every day, as the world passes you by.

                      And on the weekend: Target!!!!!

                    15. No dear, I live in Malibu and write books and polish screenplays and still surf occasionally and hang out with movie stars and kinda live la dolce vita, California style.

I was editor of SURFER Magazine for 10 years and got paid well to travel the world and surf.

Now I write books, and help other people write books.

                      Malibu doesn’t have a Target.

This is one of those rich American cities that rejects urban and suburban gack like that.

                    16. If that is what you want from life – good for you.

Nothing you noted lends credibility to anything you have said.

I would further note that your posts here show no skill at writing.
Hopefully you do better at ghost writing.

And finally – I am certainly NOT envious of you.

I do not want to go surfing all the time – or some of the time.
I do not want to live in Malibu.
I do not want to hang out with movie stars.
                      Why would anyone ?

Do I want to hang out with garbage men – just because they are good at their job ?

Just because I appreciate good acting (or plumbing) does not mean I worship actors or want anything to do with them personally.

Sean Connery was a great actor – he was a horrible person.

Piccasso was an incredible artist – he was a vile person.

I think that Polanski’s films are fantastic – he is still a rapist and pedophile.

You seem to think others envy you.

                      I certainly don’t.

BTW I rented houses at the bay in AC several years ago.

I would think a place renting for 25K a month would be a dump in Malibu.

                    17. Numbskull Trumpers dont have the money or brains to live in a place like this, so it’s necessary to go online to plumb the warped psyches of non-California nitwits who actually voted for and/or believe in the guy.

                      It’s frightening.

I’m glad I live around wealthy, smart, progressive, accomplished people who don’t go in for such proletarian nonsense.

                    18. I am glad I am not living arround the people you clearly envy.

My life is not fixated on the affluence of those I hang out with or who I know.

I am happy – that is one of the greatest accomplishments of all.

I hope you are too – but it does not sound like it.

You describe your own life as if you are a glitteratti wannabee hanging arround the periphery hoping some of the sequins will rub off on you.

                    19. Good for you.

Hopefully enough people on the planet care about your book to buy it.

                      I don’t.

Nor do I particularly want your life.

I am extremely happy with my own.
I would not pick yours if I could.

                    20. Of course there is. Major lawsuits are incredibly expensive.

Costs not merely include court and legal fees but the time necescary for everyone involved to focus on the lawsuit itself.

                      You mentioned deposing Trump.

Sane people do not wish to be deposed.

Testifying under oath is serious, dangerous – and expensive – even if you have nothing to hide.

Complying with discovery requests is expensive. Life Disruption is expensive.

$25M is small change for Trump.

                      You are completely clueless.

                    21. Nor is this restricted to insurance.

Very few businesses go the distance in winable cases where the cost to win is less than the amount paid in settlement.

Long ago I was sued by an employee for all sorts of discrimination (the employee was a white male).

It became very clear very quickly that the employee was badly wrong – but that I had gone above and beyond with respect to this employee.
I was still paying his family health insurance at the time of the lawsuit – because I knew his wife had health problems and I did not want her to be uninsured.

The ALJ presiding over the case asked if we would settle for $2500 – I jumped at that. Just continuing the case until we won would cost more than that in legal fees.

                      Settlement is common.

                    22. There is no way that lawsuit would have cost anywhere near $25 million.

And you don’t settle if you aren’t wrong.

                      Period.

Especially Trump. He loves to fight.

                    23. “There is no way that lawsuit would have cost anywhere near $25 million.”
So says some surfer dude name dropper whos tall tales have him on both coasts every day of the week.

“And you don’t settle if you aren’t wrong.

                      Period.”

And yet that happens nearly all the time.

I would note that BOTH parties settled – by your argument – why didn’t the plantifs continue ?

                    24. Don’t know what your point was, Allan. But surely therapists everywhere would love to take it up with you.

                      eb

                  2. To Bob Guillio.

                    You were not scammed.

You sought the goose that layed the golden egg.

                    And you were provided it.

Trump – like myriads of others sold the not so secret secret to success. Relentless hard work.

Every book store has hundreds of books about getting rich.

                    There are dozens of methods.
They all work most of the time.
They all require incredible hard work.

That is the not so secret secret.

                    Trump University taught exactly that.

                    No one was scammed.

                    1. Settlements typically occur because settling is cheaper than winning.

                      I cited my own example.

Do you think I should have continued ? Should I have paid more in legal fees than I settled for ?

Should i have demanded legal fees from my former employee who was falsely suing me ?

Aparently you would have fought my former employee until he groveled.

I am sure that he thinks the 2500 we settled for was a win for him.

I do not care. If he wishes to feel he won fine.

                      I ended a problem.
Further I liked the guy – as I noted I was continuing to pay his health insurance costs.

So he got an extra 2500. Had he attempted to negotiate severance – he could have gotten 2500 more with alot less trouble.

You are really clueless about both business and the law.

I have been a party to myriads of lawsuits. I have not seen any not settle.

              3. I guess that you are unaware that bleach has been used successfully to treat Covid and other infectuous diseases and that there is a study on that published in medical journals.

I guess you are also unaware that the mathematical models of the spread of infectuous diseases demonstrate no effective means to stop a virus with a spread rate of 2.4-3.8 short of agressive quarantine.

You can find on Youtube some of the model simulations – ONLY agressive quarantines work.

China welded infected people into their apartments and was able to gain control in Wuhan.

No other nations has managed to choke off a C19 outbreak.

You have a simple choice. Respect peoples freedom – and accept that means you will not be able to control the epidemic.
                Or take absolutely draconian steps.

There is no working middle ground.
Covid does not negotiate a compromise.

                1. John Say,

“I guess that you are unaware that bleach has been used successfully to treat Covid and other infectuous diseases and that there is a study on that published in medical journals.”

What study is that? Bleach is NOT used to treat Covid. It is NOT a treatment. Bleach is a disinfectant. Clearly you are being ignorant. Bleach is never used to treat anything on the body. Even diluted.

What you might be referring to is Chlorine dioxide which is basically chlorinated water. The very same stuff that comes out of your tap or what is put in a swimming pool.

A treatment for Covid is a medical remedy that involves compounds that are NOT derived from industrial cleaners such as…Bleach. There IS no study involving Bleach as a treatment for Covid. Bleach is used to KILL the virus on non organic surfaces. Not people.

“There is no working middle ground.
Covid does not negotiate a compromise.”

But people do. Freedom has it’s limits and when a pandemic is the issue. Freedom is severely limited but short on duration depending on how many people cooperate. One person’s need for freedom is detrimental to another.

                  1. Svelaz, you don’t even know what a bleaching agent is.

You can look it up, but first I will provide something from the left’s favorite encyclopedia, Wikipedia.

“most bleaches are oxidizing agents (chemicals that can remove electrons from other molecules), some are reducing agents (that donate electrons).”

You can read the rest. Then you can take out various scientific textbooks and see how the body uses these agents naturally. Then you can look at medical treatments where problems are treated with substances that react with those things causing the problems,,,such as chelation therapy.

It’s hard to believe anyone can be so ignorant after being involved in so many discussions on the same topic.

                    SM

                    1. No No. No SM!
Bleaches are only industrial chemicals used for whitening cloths.

Hydrogen peroxide is not a bleach – because…. w-w-w-well somebody told me so.
The only bleaches are lysol and cholorix – and you and JB Say are idiots – because you disagree with me.
And Daren should ban you twice for disagreeing with me.

                    2. John Say, the following was written under your name and icon. It looks like something is very wrong. I am copying the entire statement. Can you clarify.

                      ——-
                      “No No. No SM!

I see one quotation mark at the beginning and no other. The discussion ends there. The discussion is ignorant so it cannot be yours.

                      S. Meyer

                    3. Written supposedly by John Say but without his icon. “It is called sarcasm.”

Who said it is uncertain, but if it was Anonymous the Stupid, he should be banned forever.

                      .

                    4. SM

I should know better – sarcasm and irony are very difficult on the internet.

Especially – with a soulless left that has no sense of humor.

I fully expected someone on the left to completely miss the dripping sarcasm.

I did not expect you would.

                    5. John, you mimicked Svelaz’s inanities so well, you fooled me enough that I chose not to view the response as completed. I wanted your confirmation. Your follow-up didn’t have your icon.

                      Well done.

                    6. The complete stupidity and hypocracy of the left is unfathomable.

Think of the outrage if one of Trump’s kids was photographed stoned and naked smoking crack ?

                      Or diddling a teenager ?

Or if he tossed a gun into a dumpster ?

Or if one of them were getting nearly 100K/month from a foreign company to persuade Trump to shutdown an investigation.

Trump’s family is running businesses of their own – successfully. His son in law was instrumental in negotiating 8 major mideast peace deals.

Trump and his family are far from perfect, but anyone who voted for Biden is brain dead.

Biden will never be held accountable for his misconduct – because he is senile.
We pity senile people – we do not lock them up.

And apparently we let them be “leader of the free world” and pretend their incompetence is just a stutter.

                  2. ““I guess that you are unaware that bleach has been used successfully to treat Covid and other infectuous diseases and that there is a study on that published in medical journals.”

                    What study is that? ”
                    Google is your friend.

“Bleach is NOT used to treat Covid.”
The doctor in question continued to treat patients. But the FTA took down the website where he advertised his treatment.

                    “It is NOT a treatment.”
                    Bzzt Wrong.

                    ” Bleach is a disinfectant.”
No. Bleach is a chemical oxidizer.
Hyrdogen peroxide as an example is a very potent bleach.

“Clearly you are being ignorant. Bleach is never used to treat anything on the body. Even diluted.”
                    Clearly you are poorly informed.
You are a typical left wing nut – you have made numerous false assumptions – such as that the only bleaches are those used to clean cloths.
And that the only medical use for bleach is outside the body.
Most if not all oxidizers are bleaches.

“What you might be referring to is Chlorine dioxide which is basically chlorinated water. The very same stuff that comes out of your tap or what is put in a swimming pool.”

Please do not tell me what I might be thinking.
You have demonstrated poor knowledge in myriads of subjects and your not clarivoyant either.

“A treatment for Covid is a medical remedy that involves compounds that are NOT derived from industrial cleaners”
Because you say so ? While what I was refering to was NOT an industrial cleaner. There is no law of nature that precludes a madical treatment from being derived from an industrial cleaner.

That said bleach and industrial cleaner are NOT synonyms. They are overlapping sets.

“There IS no study involving Bleach as a treatment for Covid.”
                    And yet there is.

“Bleach is used to KILL the virus on non organic surfaces. Not people.”
Also false. Bleaches are used to kill viruses on organic surfaces like people including for Covid.
Myriads of people have used both clorox and lysol wipes to clean hands to kill viruses.

You continue to dig a deeper hole for yourself. You are wrong about your narrow claim that bleach was not used as part of an internal treatment. Clorox was not, Lysol was not, Typical industrial bleaches were not. But that is NOT the extent of all bleaches.

“There is no working middle ground.
Covid does not negotiate a compromise.”

                    “But people do.”
People are unable to negotiate a compromise or middle ground with nature.

                    “Freedom has it’s limits”
Yes, we are not free to use force against others without justification.

“when a pandemic is the issue.”
                    Nope.

“Freedom is severely limited but short on duration depending on how many people cooperate.”
You have very successfully proven how stupid an idea that is.

You CLAIM to be driven by evidence – by “science” – yet the science was NEVER in your favor.

Contra the left – all your nonsense policies were known to be fundimentally ineffective – from the start.
Quarantines actually work – though they must be rigorously applied and the degree of acceptable error decreases exponentially with the spread rate of the disease. Outside of vaccines or other means of producing immunity or a cure – nothing else works.

This was KNOWN before the pandemic.

The entire purpose of all the stupid policy measures we employed was to “flatten the curve” – in a very narrow set of circumstances – where the healthcare system is actually effective in reducing deaths AND it is in serious danger of being overwhelmed – flattening the curve can save lives. In all other instances it will not, and it can and probably did increase the loss of life.

Again all of this was KNOWN at the start.

“One person’s need for freedom is detrimental to another.”
                    Nope.

As is typical of the left – you seem to think that something is true – just because you say it.
Or because some shallow analysis of yours leads you to that conclusion.

Reality has been incredibly hostile to the left. And the pandemic is no exception.

We can (and have) accurately predicted Covid infection and death rates throughout the world based solely on demographic and geographic factors. That is no policy measure that has proven effective.
And it was possible for knowledgeable people to know that would be the case from the start.

You offered this false aphorism about individual freedom, but the FACT is that while Covid did not respond favorably to policies anywhere – it did respond unfavorably.

AND there were other non-covid related unfavorable responses to policies.

                    YOUR interventions KILLED people.

We have had higher numbers of drug overdoses, higher suicide rates, we have and will continue to see higher death rates from cancer and like diseases – because treatment and detection was delayed. We have done economic carnage – we have increased joblessness – all of which strongly correlate to higher mortality in the long run. Those are the very real but less direct deaths your restrictions on liberty have caused. More directly – stupid policies like sending recovering covid patients into nursing homes was essentially murder.

                    As of Feb according to CDC, 45 people under 1 died from c19. 23 1-4, 72 5-14, 648 15-24, 2922 25-34, 7711 35-44, 21251 45-54,
                    54,134 55-64, 99019 65-74, 128192 75-84, 146217 85+

As should be very clear C19 has a very pronounced age curve. 7% of all deaths were in those under 55.
The fatality rate for C19 if you are under 55 is less than the flu.

BTW we knew this pronounced curve based on data from China at the very begining.

Had your idiots determinging policy and limiting individual liberty had a clue – they would have focussed on protecting the elderly – and this would have passed quickly with far fewer deaths.

Flattening the curve – which is all your polices ever accomplished (maybe) increases the potential exposure of the most vulnerable – the elderly.

Those places that focused on protecting the elderly – had the best outcomes.

Yopu can look at the data by state and the data by country accross the world.
Not only is their no evidence your restrictions on liberty worked – but there is good evidence they made things work.

You claim that sometimes personal liberty must be limited temporarily for the safety of others.

But the real world data shows that limiting liberty DECREASED the safety of others.

I understand that is had for you to grasp – it conflicts with your view of the world.

But it is just one more of your numerous errors – that are cause by a fallcious world view.

                  3. Sweden which imposed no manditory covid policies has 1400 C19 deaths per million people.
That is below the US, below the UK, below nearly all of Europe.

Businesses did not shutdown. Schools did not shutdown. people went about there lives like normal.
They had less economic carnage. Some people wore masks some didn’t as they chose.

Svelaz – the evidence is against you.

You FAILED – and you killed people.

Whether you like it or not – greater liberty correlates with lower death rates.

              4. Some of Biden’s actual remarks on Covid

“And, in addition to that, in addition to that we have to make sure that we, we are in a position that we are, well met me go the second thing, I’ve spoken enough on that,”

“We have to take care of the cure, that will make the problem worse, no matter what,”

                https://www.air.tv/watch?v=vbGL30ixS2m6lOEvQjroDw

                  1. “Biden has a stutter.”
He does and no one holds that against him.

                    Senility is not stuttering.

“Actions speak louder than words. California is open for business.”
                    Sort of.

                    TX and California never closed.

“The country is open for business.”
Because the people FORCED the issue.

Biden was still ranting about 2 masks when the country was reopening.
He was fighting Gov. Noem about fireworks like an idiot.

I would further note that my business has been opened since August of 2020 – and doing well.

I have HIRED several people over that time.

I have done that in a blue state serving other blue states in the midst of lockdowns.

Many of us have found ways arround the idiocy of our governments.

I would suggest reading Atlas Shrugged or watching the movies.

While they are fiction – they are also true to reality.

Whether in Obama Biden dystopias or in the USSR.

The actual engine of the world is impossible to turn off.

For the most part – the people you condemn the most – continue to strive to make a better world for themselves and others – despite the leeches like yourself.
And no matter how bad you make it – they STILL struggle on.

The people screwed by the pandemic have mostly been the poor working class.
Your toadies, your enemies. Those you demand vote for you.
And then you screw them over.

In all your bragging about yourself – you have NEVER claimed to do anything that benefits others.

Do you employ others ? Do you provide people with homes ?
What good are you to the rest of the world ?

I work hard – for my own benefit. But I fully grasp as Adam Smith did 250 years ago – that my interests are met by meeting those of others.

                    1. John Say,

                      ““Biden has a stutter.”
He does and no one holds that against him.”

But you do by conflating that as a sign of senility.

                      “TX and California never closed.”

False. California was the first state to close. They just lifted the last of their restrictions. Texas didn’t close.

““The country is open for business.”
Because the people FORCED the issue.”

False. The levels of vaccinated people and lowering rates of cases allowed for the reopening of the country. Vaccination rates continue to increase and therefore help with the eliminating of those restrictions.

“Biden was still ranting about 2 masks when the country was reopening.
He was fighting Gov. Noem about fireworks like an idiot.”

That was because the vaccination rates were not yet where they supposed to be. The issue with Governor Noem was before the vaccine was widely available and crowds were still an issue for Covid spread. Context matters.

                    2. “But you do by conflating that as a sign of senility.”
Nope. there is a huge difference between stuttering and senility.
My father died of vascular dimensia. I do not know precisely what form of dimensia Biden has – but he clearly has dimensia, and it is getting worse. Very few people are still debating this.

                      ““TX and California never closed.”

False. California was the first state to close. They just lifted the last of their restrictions. Texas didn’t close.”

Correct – Typo, I meant florida. Several other red states either did not close or did so minimally.

As a whole red states fared better than blue – but that is atleast partly a factor of latitude.
Regardless the evidence is clear that lockdowns and other infringements on liberty had no positive benefit.

“““The country is open for business.”
Because the people FORCED the issue.”

False. The levels of vaccinated people and lowering rates of cases allowed for the reopening of the country. Vaccination rates continue to increase and therefore help with the eliminating of those restrictions.”

Nope – while it is true that vacination rates are up. And it is likely – though not certain that is bringing case rates down – the cause of declining case rates is more complex. Case rates in sweden declined long before there was a vaccine – further we are again in summer and C19 does poorly in high temps and humidity. There is alot of data analysis that will be needed to know the actual effect of vaccines – we may not know for sure until next fall.

I BELEIVE that vaccinations are a factor – there are reasons to beleive it is. But like a typical left wing nut – you jump to conclusions without considering the actual data and all factors.

That said – we are opening up because people have lost tolerance.

On PA voters over whelmingly told Gov. Wolf to go F himself – and they did so months ago.

You are correct – in that California was first to lock down and last to open up – and a disaster through and through.

But most of the rest of the country was tired of this crap. Govenors accoss the country were facing recall challenges and politicans wisely took the lesson and ended this nonsense.

It does not work and most of us know that.

““Biden was still ranting about 2 masks when the country was reopening.
He was fighting Gov. Noem about fireworks like an idiot.”

That was because the vaccination rates were not yet where they supposed to be. The issue with Governor Noem was before the vaccine was widely available and crowds were still an issue for Covid spread. Context matters.”

Tyrants always have an excuse – context does matter – and you are clueless about it.

It is currentlyu day 178 or 2021. We started vaccinating in late December.
We were up to 1.4M doses/day by the day before Biden’s inaugural. US Deaths per day peaked on Jan 15. and were in rapid decline through March and slow decline since. The rapid decline starting in mid January is one of the reasons that the decline may have little to do with the vaccine – the rate of decline was too fast too early for the vaccine to be a factor.

Regardless it was predictable by inauguration day that deaths would be way down by July.
It was KNOWN with certainty that they were ALREADY way down by late march.

As I said Biden was still ranting and spewing nonsense – when it was obvious to everyone that this was over.

        2. Anonymous SM, you can’t get into a detailed discussion about CRT because you have not brought up which of its tenets you disagree with. You keep asking to define CRT, and you have been shown multiple times. You can’t have a discussion until YOU actually present something you have read about CRT.

  2. Earlier today, I was out for a walk and happened across an actual, literal sign.

    —–
    Don’t be Complacent
    Elections Cannot be Counted On
Protest Nonstop for Trump’s Immediate Removal

Amazing how four short years later, elections become sacrosanct and protests become insurrections.

    1. Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself,

Interesting to me is it as the more time goes by the more we find out about the key players involved like Bill Barr, Barr’s dad , others & connection to Jeffery Epstein & the Satanic/Pedo connections.

How it came to be, I don’t think I know everything yet. America hating Deep State Globalist no doubt.

      1. You honestly believe this nonsense? Jones actually accomplishes what I had thought was impossible- his video sucks and blows simultaneously!

        1. I’m sure you’ll denounce Mohammad his Islamic Satanic Govt/Pedos & all acts of Pedos Right Here Right Now, won’t you.

            1. *** Jeff Silberman says:

Suffice it to say, whatever you are for, I am AGAINST.

              I’m sorry I asked. ***

Let us all be sure about what you’re saying.

I’m against Mohammad/his type Satanic/Pedo govt & all other Satanic Pedo stuff like it & you’re for it.

Is that what you meant to say & you won’t Denounce it?

        2. Jeff, the more one listens to you, the more sense Alex Jones makes. Alex Jones may be a bit out in space, but he is far more credible than you.

  3. The article doesn’t state that anything about Giuliani’s e-mails or anything that Mark Meadows might have done was illegal or in violation of any applicable regulation. I’m not sure what the perceived problem is here.

  4. JT, I’m thankful Barr held the line around the election. Ditto for Pence. i’ll be forever grateful to them in fact, despite the fact I’m not a fan of either. They were set with the task of moderating a mad man who cared not one bit about the rule of law, and they stood up at a crucial moment after rolling many times previous.

I actually have more respect for Rosen than for Barr and Pence because he stood up immediately rather than enabling Trump. At least he and Donoghue called out the insanity right away.

Hard sell on restoring whatever credibility Barr had though. He’s destined to languish in history near the bottom of the barrel.

    eb

    1. Not clear who you think the madman or madmen are. Do you think Giuliani or Meadows or Trump broke any laws, and if so, which ones? Isn’t petitioning the government for redress of grievances a core First Amendment right?

      1. Trump and Giuliani are definitely guilty of extortion while in office. To be added to the obstruction referred by the Mueller report for Trump. Meadows seems to being linked to election tampering as we speak but the case is less clear against him.

        eb

        1. I should add both Trump and Guliani are guilty of election tampering as well. The Georgia investigation is quite intriguing. They’re taking his blatantly illegal phone call where where he said ‘find me 11,800 votes’ and stepping beyond his avenues of denial by taking it into racketeering territory. By all rights, Trump should be charged with inciting a riot in D.C. also, but probably won’t be because he’s got so many other irons in the fire. It’s tough being a true s^&t stain where everything you do is illegal…, people have to take a number to go after you and position themselves according to what you did that was most illegal.

          eb

    2. Eb,

Not if Turley has anything to do with it. What are friends for? It seems that Turley is one of the only outspoken friends he has got in D.C. Turley is loyal to a fault. You gotta hand it to him. However, as more investigations are done on Trump’s DOJ, it remains to be seen whether Barr survives all the scrutiny. There will be many more facts coming to light in the upcoming months. Turley has gone way out on a limb for Barr; I hope Barr has been telling Turley privately the whole truth so that Turley will not be blind-sided by some unexpected revelation.

      1. i still think the best time for Turley to break ties was when Barr resigned or was fired, Jeff. He missed an opportunity. Impressive that in this post Turley at least twice was forceful about the fact Barr was fired. We can see the breadcrumbs for a Turley exodus from Fox being laid down.

        eb

        1. It could be, but we can’t know how much Turley is being paid to keep delegitimizing Fox’s media competition on the Left. We might see Turley start maligning Fox’s media competition on the far Right, Newsmax and OAN, if they start threatening Fox’s ratings.

If Trump, Trump employees or the Trump organization are prosecuted, that will be breaking news everyday. Fox will have to cover it, and Turley will be at odds with the prime time hosts who will parrot Trump’s cry of “witch-hunt!” Turley may serve as a necessary reality check on the legal merits or he may not be asked to give his opinion at all.

All we know for certain is that a criminal and/or civil trial will force everyone to take a stand either for, or against, the American justice system because we know that Trump will put *it* on trial. That’s what will be at stake- nothing less.

          1. interesting. I like your thought of Turley being turned toward delegitimizing Newsmax and OAN. Either way, quite the dilemma for Turley. Trump is definitely planning on being indicted in NY. It’ll be fascinating watching it all play out.

            eb

  5. Saturday night, a pickup truck ran over two people at a gay pride parade near Fort Lauderdale, killing one of them. The driver barely missed Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was riding in a nearby convertible. Dean Trantalis, the Fort Lauderdale mayor, quickly declared the incident a “terrorist attack against the LGBT community. Hardly an accident. It was deliberate, it was premeditated, and it was targeted against a specific person. Luckily they missed that person, but unfortunately, they hit two other people.” News reports followed the Mayor’s lead and decried the acts of hatred.

We have since learned that the driver and the victims were all older men affiliated with the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus and that it was all a terrible accident. The internet is still full of news reports spreading the Mayor’s dangerous nonsense the driver intended to murder Ms. Wasserman Shultz in a terrorist attack. Mayor Trantalis needs to be all over the news and internet acknowledging his mistake and correcting his false narrative. Moreover, Mayor Trantalis’ eagerness to jump to unfounded and inflammatory conclusions intended to stoke distrust and hatred among American citizens demonstrates that he lacks the judgment and temperament needed to hold office. Mayor Trantalis should resign immediately.

  6. Oh how I wish we could see the pressure Hillary Clinton put on the alphabet soup agencies… oh, wait.. she got to erase everything with their help.
Oh the inequity in America today.

  7. From what I can tell, this was post-election, and it’s already very common knowledge Trump wanted an investigation and was hounding anyone and everyone. This is not new information, just more pathetic spin from the Dems, which the media will be happy to project as some sort of damning exposé even though it’s already common knowledge, and awfully coincidentally timed with AZ wrapping up their audit and other states expressing interest in possibly pursuing similar. The dems are utterly without shame at this point, I can’t help but feel in light of many of his recent posts, the Professor might have agreed.

This post is baffling, and the gotcha cr*p coming from the left has grown beyond petty and tiresome.

    1. Stick around, Jim, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Turley is going to further dismay you. He’ll let you down real slow though to ease your disappointment. Sit tight, it’s a-commin’.

  8. Too bad Trump didn’t fire the lot.

Here is a possible ‘intervention’: project Veritas had recordings of people on Omar’s district clutching wads of cash and boasting about voter fraud. in theory that indicates criminal conduct but all Barr did was blow on his bagpipes. Worthless, noisy, fat toad.

  9. MollyG says:

“JT, you are a pure Trumper, we all know it because we read your blog.”

Turley is not a “pure Trumper.” Those Trumpists vilifying him on this blog demonstrate that he is not. Turley is defending his longtime friend for whom he has vouched as a paragon of integrity and moral rectitude. Trumpists regard Barr as a back-stabber.

Turley has his work cut out for him- defending Barr from both sides. While Turley has never embraced Trump, it is abundantly clear that Turley will never forsake Barr no matter what.

    1. Turley, as usual, is trying to call the shots from his center left position in his fair mannered way. Fairness insults Jeff, but who cares.

I support Trump and most of Trump’s actions, but I don’t go hot and cold on Turley when his statements contradict what I believe.

        1. I was pulling your leg. When Turley begins to take Alex Jones seriously, so will I.

          1. Who say’s doesn’t take Jones seriously?

JT sometimes being an expert in areas he has to hold back on opinions sometimes.

            1. Oky1,

If ever Turley mentions Alex Jones by name in a complimentary manner, I’ll depart this forum permanently.

              You have my word.

              1. I think that day is very close at hand, so if I missed going out the door I wish you well.

BTW: Jones for free gives you 24/7 where his info is coming from so you can Ck for yourself.

              2. On second thought, maybe I should not have made that promise! Perhaps, Turley cannot resist!

                1. Maybe you & Natacha need to get some of that Super Male Vitality so you can feel your balls again? lol;) Watch it it’s hot stuff.

And even if you hate Infowars & Banned.Video they have good prices on Water Filters & in room Air Filters.

                  1. I don’t hate Infowars. I’m not a hater; I’m a lover. I’v been using Super Male Vitality for years! It’s much more effective than Spanish Fly, I’ll tell ya what.

                2. In typical lefty fashion you break your word in record time. Don’t have a time stamp but my guess is minutes.

  10. JT, you are a pure Trumper, we all know it because we read your blog. Don’t pretend to be outraged that the e-mails were sent or that they tried to overthrow the election. You are pissed that that they put it all in writing.

    1. “New Emails Show Unsuccessful and Unrelenting Pressure on Barr and Rosen from Trump to Intervene in the Election”

      – Professor Turley
      _______________

Someone can’t see the forest for the trees.

    1. They are not right and there are no more audits. It is over and it was a clean election.

            1. The AZ circus meets none of my requirements. It is literally paid for and run by people who are open Trumpers.

              1. “The AZ circus meets none of my requirements. “

I understand Molly. As a clown you don’t want to work for the Arizona circus, but then again, what should we expect from you? Do you know anything? The document is from Georgia, not Arizona.

            1. “The AZ audit is court ordered, with court oversight.”

Nope. The AZ audit is SENATE ordered. It is the AZ state senate that is overseeing the audit, Not the court.

              1. A complete waste of time caused by the biggest pack of sore losers in the history of sore losers.

America voted out Trump by 7,000,000 votes.

                That’s America speaking.

              2. “The AZ audit is SENATE ordered.”

Signed off on and with oversight by the Maricopa County Superior Court.

    2. Mary, Mary, quite contrary. Even if the audits can’t prove that Trump won, the Trumpists will NEVER accept that Trump lost. Don’t you understand that by now?

The Big Lie that the election was stolen will endure because Fox News (Turley) will never concede that it is-and always was- a damnable lie. Fox just wants to get passed the billion dollar defamation lawsuits, move on and forget it had a hand in defaming these companies by spreading this lie to millions.

      1. I know you previously stated when confronted about a bet on the outcomes of the Dominion lawsuits that you were your own charity. How Democratic of you. And I mean party. I will join the previous proposition. And no , out of court does not count. As a lawyer you know settlements are made every day with not admitting guilt as a condition in nuisance lawsuits. If this goes to trial, Dominion will lose. I will be surprised if it gets to discovery. Let me know how you propose we both put up our
        $ .

      2. Was “Russia stole the election from Hillary” a damnable Big Lie in 2016, told over and over and over and over and over again by the Democrats and their Fake News — still, to this day?

        1. “Russia stole the election from Hillary” a damnable Big Lie in 2016.”

The MSM never said Russia stole the election from Hilary. They said only that Russia interfered with the election. No one can know if the interference affected the results. It didn’t help to be sure and should not be tolerated in the future.

          Jeff Silberman

  12. “to Intervene in the Election” is misleadingly worded — unusually so for you, Mr. Turley. Election Day had passed before the intervention allegedly took place.

  13. Trump should have fired Barr when he failed to crack down on the FBI / DOJ fisa abuse during the prior administration! Foolishly let Barr Durham run out the clock!

    1. The Trumpists are already turning on Turley. Just wait until Turley has to defend the integrity of our criminal justice system if ever Trump is put on trial.

      Man, will the Trumpists HOWL!

  14. Wow! Turley is really burning his bridges by his gratuitous attacks at his legal colleagues on CNN and MSNBC. When he is pushed out of Fox News, it’s only Newsmax or One America Network for him. There is no going back to the mainstream.

  15. Turley et al misnomers the claim of “intervention”. Trump never wanted them to change votes, or effect fraud; he always only wanted a clean election, his “pressure” was only ever to counter the clear and present fraud that was taking place before everyones eyes.

    1. Instead of jumping the gun Mr Turley why don’t we all wait for the results on the Maricopa Audit

Followed by the audits in Pennsylvania & Georgia

      1. Since Turley NEVER replies to questions posed on this forum, allow me to take a stab at that-

Professor Turley is not a Trumpist. Got it?

      2. There is no audit of Arizona. There is a political circus lead by Trump loyalists who are hell bent in discrediting the election. They are not even attempting to have and honest count. No one other then Trumpers will believe what they say.

    2. T***p is on audio recording asking the GA SoS to go, after multiple recounts and audits, and change votes for him.

      1. You can’t handle the truth!

        You can’t handle an audit.

And you are nothing but a false artifice of generational welfare, matriculation affirmative action, employment affirmative action, quotas, food stamps, rent control, social services, forced busing, minimum wage, utility subsidies, WIC, SNAP, TANF, HAMP, HARP, TARP, HHS, HUD, Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc.

I’ll bet Egypt is ecstatic that the Israelite slaves were out of Egypt before the ink was dry on their release papers. Egypt hasn’t suffered for millennia, and doesn’t suffer now, a caterwauling, ineffectual and dependent minority which is relentlessly begging for “free stuff,” in all its multitudinous forms, including compulsory free social acceptance, free money, free food, free housing, free matriculation, free grade inflation, free hiring, free mortgage assistance, free healthcare insurance, free immunity from culpability, etc. The communists (liberals, progressives, socialists, democrats, RINOs) in America have made Karl Marx proud. No freedom and self-reliance for them; simply class “untouchability,” dependence and entitlement.

In other words, you’re not a free American, you’re an insatiable parasite.

You said you wanted freedom when all you really wanted was “free stuff.”
