Illinois Gov. Pritzker Calls for More Gun Limits After Highland Shootings

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) and others responded to the massacre in Highland Park, Illinois with calls for more gun limits and bans. Pritzker repeated a dubious musket argument but also ignored that Illinois has some of the most stringent gun laws in the country, including bans on assault weapons and a red flag law. The media is reporting that Robert “Bobby” Crimo III, an aspiring rapper, is a person “known to law enforcement.” His postings reveal highly disturbing videos and bizarre images, including violent references.

Pritzker appeared in Highland Park after the shooting to call for more limits and criticize the protections afforded under the Second Amendment to gun owners. Pritzker repeated the common argument that

“Our founders carried muskets, not assault weapons, and I don’t think a single one of them would have said that you have a constitutional right to an assault weapon with a high-capacity magazine or that that is more important than the right of the people who attended this parade today to live.”

President Biden has made an analogous and clearly false claim that certain guns were banned for private ownership when the Second Amendment was ratified: “The Second Amendment is not absolute. When it was passed you couldn’t own a cannon, you couldn’t own certain kinds of weapons. There’s just always been limitations.”

Once again, there were no federal laws barring cannon ownership when the Second Amendment was enacted. Gun laws remained local matters and I do not know of any bans on cannons or other gun types until much later in our history.  Early local laws did control concealed weapons, though concealed cannons were not part of those ordinances.

Indeed, the Constitution itself supports private cannon ownership in the case of privateers.  Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 allows Congress to “grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal.”  That allowed private parties to privateer on the high seas with . . . cannons. (Recently some members of Congress wanted to issues such letters of Marque again to enlist privateers in the fight against Russia).

Pritzker’s musket argument is equally dubious. He presumably does not take the same narrow reading of other parts of the Constitution on individual rights. For example, he recognizes that privacy is protected even though it is not mentioned and our notion of privacy rights has become more expansive over time. The “living Constitution” model allows for such expanded meaning.

Moreover, while the Framers were used to “letters” (and the Fourth Amendment references letters), few would argue that the same protection does not apply to electronic letters in the form of emails or digital files with communications.

In the end, the musket argument is often the fallback position for those who previously opposed interpreting the Second Amendment as an individual right. Some, however, also pushed that line of argument. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney suggested that only police should have any guns of any kind.

What is interesting is that this is a state with some of the most stringent gun laws in the country. That includes a red flag law, a waiting period for gun purchases, background checks, gun owner licensing, domestic violence gun laws, and “open carry regulations.” This and other counties have “assault weapons” bans.

According to the mayor, this weapon was “legally obtained.”

As with past calls following such tragedies, the question is what in addition Pritzker is advocating that would have stopped this massacre. A high-capacity magazine ban would not stop such shootings. Anyone with a modicum of experience with weapons can swap out magazines in a matter of a seconds.

What may have stopped the massacre is the enforcement of the red flag laws given the dark and deranged postings of this individual. However, such laws depend on people reporting such warning signs and police enforcing the laws. The fact is that many shooters are not known to police or experience a sudden and lethal turn where such laws are largely ineffective.

As a Chicago native, I am very familiar with this area and spent a great deal of time in Highland Park and neighboring towns. It is a very affluent area with a relatively small population. Yet, even in this small community with considerable assets for mental health and law enforcement intervention, red flag and other laws did not prevent the shooting.

For politicians like Pritzker (and President Biden) who raised new limits after this shooting, there should be a demand for specifics on not just how they will constitutionally limit guns but whether such limits would have actually prevented this tragedy. There remain areas where we can make real progress, particularly in the greater funding of mental illness programs. However, there must also be greater honesty about the range of constitutional and practical options in dealing with such shootings.

  1. No surprise here. Chances of Americans looking within and practice introspection? As long as the internet exists, none.
Easier to accuse, insult and act tribal, online than unplug, pause, reflect and make a fearless moral inventory like addicts do in 12 step programs. Time to reassess what you are doing folks. It aint working, and your offspring are a threat to all of us

Confidence in U.S. Institutions Down; Average at New Low

Confidence currently ranges from a high of 68% for small business to a low of 7% for Congress. The military is the only institution besides small business for which a majority of Americans express confidence (64%)

    1. And the way the military leaders are going woke, that percent will be going down for the military soon enough.

Subpoenas Issued Regarding Trump’s Call To Georgia

Seven advisers and allies of Donald J. Trump, including Rudolph W. Giuliani and Senator Lindsey Graham, were subpoenaed on Tuesday in the ongoing criminal investigation in Georgia of election interference by Mr. Trump and his associates. The move was the latest sign that the investigation has entangled a number of prominent members of Mr. Trump’s orbit, and may cloud the future for the former president himself.

The subpoenas underscore the breadth of the investigation being conducted by Fani T. Willis, the district attorney of Fulton County, which encompasses most of Atlanta. She is weighing a range of charges, according to legal filings, including racketeering and conspiracy, and her inquiry has encompassed witnesses from beyond the state’s borders. The latest round of subpoenas was reported earlier by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

    1. More theater for the TDS crowd. We learned how Mueller used hundreds of warrants. All actors moving across the screen giving the audience the feeling of reality, while it is nothing but fiction. Garland is just doing it to give all the leftist a boner. Those seem to alluded them, by normal ways.

      1. Stooge, the climax of this show is when Trump answers, under oath, to explain what he meant by “Eleven thousand votes”.

  3. We agree on a number of things George including what Constitution intended, and who it is supposed to serve. The American Welfare State (which benefits mostly white people) is the bone the rich have thrown back to maintain a stable and cheap work force. The US didn’t intend for Black people to become citizens, they had no rights which the white man was compelled to respect, killing them was only a crime when a charge was brought by a white person and if they were convicted by a jury of all-whites with no testimony from Black people allowed. Black people weren’t meant to vote, congregate in groups, or read and write. This is what the Founders intended, we only differ in whether or not it was supposed to stay that way.

    1. Credibility check. You fail. Answer the question.

Can we get rid of unconstitutional welfare, affirmative action, forced busing, etc., etc., yet?

Can we play on a level field, whereupon you and your ilk inevitably fail of incompetence and a dearth of acumen?

You said you wanted freedom; what you really want is free stuff, forever and ever.

Freedom does you no good, does it?

You must appropriate from those who succeed in order to thrive or even simply persist.

      1. Hello George, I communicate with you in spite of your views because of everyone here, you recognize what America always intended itself to be. Others like John Calhoun said the quiet pat out loud. In this speech he was speaking specifically about Mexicans but his views expanded to other non-white races as well.

“I know further, sir, that we have never dreamt of incorporating into our Union any but the Caucasian race—the free white race. To incorporate Mexico, would be the very first instance of the kind of incorporating an Indian race; for more than half of the Mexicans are Indians, and the other is composed chiefly of mixed tribes. I protest against such a union as that! Ours, sir, is the Government of a white race. The greatest misfortunes of Spanish America are to be traced to the fatal error of placing these colored races on an equality with the white race. That error destroyed the social arrangement which formed the basis of society. The Portuguese and ourselves have escaped—the Portuguese at least to some extent—and we are the only people on this continent which have made revolutions without being followed by anarchy. And yet it is professed and talked about to erect these Mexicans into a Territorial Government, and place them on an equality with the people of the United States. I protest utterly against such a project.

Sir, it is a remarkable fact, that in the whole history of man, as far as my knowledge extends, there is no instance whatever of any civilized colored races being found equal to the establishment of free popular government, although by far the largest portion of the human family is composed of these races. And even in the savage state we scarcely find them anywhere with such government, except it be our noble savages—for noble I will call them. They, for the most part, had free institutions, but they are easily sustained among a savage people. Are we to overlook this fact? Are we to associate with ourselves as equals, companions, and fellow-citizens, the Indians and mixed race of Mexico? Sir, I should consider such a thing as fatal to our institutions.”

While I sometimes tolerate you, you don’t get to demand anything of me including answering your questions. Just stew in your hate, I hope you live until 2045 when you will officially be a minority.

        1. With respect to the remarks of Calhoun.

I support diversity – racially, ethnically, culturally, ….
I think it is a good thing.

But diversity is NOT an established moral principle.

Very very nations in the world have consequential diversity.
Most european diversity is NEW – only since caucasian birth rates have declined threatening the fabric of nations if hey do not accept foreigners.

Most of the world has Chosen that their nations be monocultures.
          Essentially what Calhoun was arguing.

Our founders – meaning those at Jamestown, Plymouth, Penn’s woods, …. did not actively seek to create a diverse nation.,
Many in fact deliberately sought to create their own monoculture – the pilgrims as an example sought to create a puritan monoculture.

Pre revolutionary diversity within a colony was driven more by economic factors than other values.
Indentured servants were originally from London, but eventually came from ireland and other places as the need for labor was greater than the supply.

The revolution cemented diversity into the nation – because there were not 13 states of puritans, or irish indentured servants or catholics or quakers of menonites, or dutch, or … But 13 states made of ALL of these,

Diversity was a REQUIRED value to form a nation from the late prerevolutionary period – because there was no way any state could be independent alone.

Diversity was thrust upon colonists by necesity not because it was a core value.

But with very few exceptions such as freed blacks and slaves that diversity was still limited to white europeans at the time of the revolution.

The inclusion of other groups into the american ideal was a choice made slowly over time – often facing strong opposition.

And despite YOUR presumption that there is some moral right, there is not. American diveristy was a choice, and it is an ongoing choice.

You are arguing to rewrite american history, to make it entirely about the exploitation of non-caucasians. While it is try that people were exploited, it is false that is core to the american story.

America has been anti just about every group as they first came here, but ultimately assimilated them – some faster than others.

Even today we still fight over who to let in and who to keep out.

There are 750M people in the world who would immigrate to america if they could. We have decided by law that we will accept approximately 1M legal immigrants each year – these come from all over the world – but primarily asia – china, india, vietnam, philipines.

As a nation we have chosen to accept only a few legal immigrants from south and central america – that is our law.
Democratic presidents have chosen not to enforce that law and as such we are now seeing 2M illegal immigrants from south and central america each year.

That is lawless, We are as a nation free to choose to accept immigrants as few or as many as we wish. We can accept all the 750M people who wish to come here from all over the world. Or not.

Those choices have effects – economic and political.

Democrats are discovering that even 2nd and 3rd generation children of often illegal immigrants are not happy about competing with new illegal immigrants. This should have been obvious to democrats as it has happened with every prior wave of immigrants. Those here most recently do not want hordes of new immigrants competing with them for jobs.

This country can absorb millions of low skilled immigrants each year – but it will be a different country. For most of us in the middle class or above it will be a better country – we are in the top of the pyramid. Bringing more people in at the bottom helps them AND us.
But for lower class and working class americans new immigrants compete for jobs and LOWER their standard of living.

It also effects the structure of society – the more unskilled labor we bring in the more unskilled jobs we must create.

If the US brings in millions of low skill people from anywhere – and reduces minimum wages we can bring back many jobs that were lost to countries with large lowskilled workforces.

But we will also slow progress towards higher standards of living, more automation, and the production of higher quality goods of higher value.

The left wants electric cars – we are a long way from immigrants affording electric cars.
The left wants a green energy regime – no matter how difficult that is, it ismany times more difficult the more unskilled labor we import.

In certain ways Calhoune is correct – WE get to decide the future of our country. But the left does not grasp that our choices have consequences.

More immigration from Asia will produce a much different country than more immigration from south and Central america.

Nor are we obligated to take people from anywhere. We do so as a choice.

Nearly all americans right and left today – unlike Calhoune value the choice of more immigrants.

But we are NOT in agreement on the scale of immigration or where those imigrants should come from.

Ultimately the resolution to that MUST be political, and I think democrats have made a mistake by dramatically outrunning public support.

A FEW democrats are saying – We the elite will choose for the country – not the people as a whole.
That is proving politically disasterous, and is likely the single most important factor turning the democratic party into an elitist white party, and losing it the support of minorities and the working class.

BTW – you are free to disagree with me on that – I am reading the tea leaves. I think I am doing so well – because we are seeing the working class leave the democratic party fairly quickly.

But what is happening will happen – whether I am right or wrong about why.

  4. Enigman,

    How ’bout a credibility check?

The Supreme Court, after 50 years, finally revealed that Roe was never constitutional and struck it down on irrefutable grounds.

Understanding there are no sections to be cited which support any aspect of the welfare state, and that Congress has the power to tax for ONLY “…general Welfare…,” not individual welfare, specific welfare, particular welfare, favor or charity, the Supreme Court should and, ultimately, must finally reveal that matriculation affirmative action, grade-inflation affirmative action, employment affirmative action, quotas, welfare, food stamps, minimum wage, rent control, social services, forced busing, public housing, utility subsidies, WIC, SNAP, TANF, HAMP, HARP, TARP, HHS, HUD, Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc., were never constitutional and must strike them all down on irrefutable grounds.

May we please abolish the wholly unconstitutional communist American welfare state?

Or do certain “citizens” still need, while not deserving, other people’s money, and superior “untouchable” status provided by your communist (liberal, progressive, socialist, democrat, RINO) government?

    How ’bout a credibility check?

    1. While it’s a great academic exercise to pick up the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and decide and interpret what it means and how the country should work, most of us live in a world that are informed by actual events (for example the election of Lincoln, the Civil War, and the New Deal), the adoption of amendments to the Constitution (13,14, 15, and 19), and thousands of Supreme Court opinions.

      1. Concerned Citizen

Yes, and your “MOST OF US” constitute the Deep Deep State Swamp.

Again, please cite the Constitution, not your whimsical thesis, such as it is.

The Supreme Court recently went back 50 years to take constitutional corrective action.

Certainly, it can extend that time frame another 100 years for something as important as the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

America does need to get it right, you must agree.

The Supreme Court of 1973 ruled that abortion was a right, which could not have been more wrong.

The Supreme Court is populated by anti-American, anti-Constitution communists (liberals, progressives, socialists, democrats, RINOs).

1869 America was under the brutal, post-war military occupation of the communist successors of Lincoln.

The improperly ratified, unconstitutional “Reconstruction Amendments” were also rammed through in that era.

There is absolutely no citation, by you or the esteemed Supreme Court of Texas, 1869, of the Constitution regarding the hypothesized unconstitutionality of fully constitutional secession.

        Everything Lincoln did was unconstitutional.

The American Founders seceded from Great Britain.

Have you ever read the Constitution; would you please cite it for a prohibition of secession?

      2. Certainly Roosevelt and the New Deal were communist, you might inquire of Alger Hiss and Whitaker Chambers, two certified communist spies under Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

The rationale for the Civil War was secession, which was fully constitutional, causing the Civil War to be unconstitutional.

Lincoln was Karl Marx’s “…earnest of the epoch…to lead his country through the matchless struggle…[toward]…the RECONSTRUCTION of a social world.”

Lincoln was the American inflection point for incremental implementation of the principles of communism, commencing with the improperly ratified and unconstitutional “RECONSTRUCTION Amendments.”

Understanding that slavery must have been ended by legal and constitutional means and methods, everything that Lincoln did was unconstitutional, starting with fully constitutional secession, precisely what the American Founders themselves conducted against the British Empire.

The only possible explanation for your support of Lincoln is that you support the incremental implementation of the principles of communism begun under Lincoln and his successors.

Lincoln espoused Karl Marx’s pejoratives “capitalists” and “fleece the people” in 1837:

“These capitalists generally act harmoniously and in concert, to fleece the people.”

        – Abraham Lincoln, from his first speech as an Illinois state legislator, 1837

“Everyone now is more or less a Socialist.”

        – Charles Dana, managing editor of the New York Tribune, and Lincoln’s assistant secretary of war, 1848

“The goal of Socialism is Communism.”

        – Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

“The workingmen of Europe feel sure that, as the American War of Independence initiated a new era of ascendancy for the middle class, so the American Antislavery War will do for the working classes. They consider it an earnest of the epoch to come that it fell to the lot of Abraham Lincoln, the single-minded son of the working class, to lead his country through the matchless struggle for the rescue of an enchained race and the reconstruction of a social world.”

        – Karl Marx and the First International Workingmen’s Association to Lincoln, 1864

  5. Word ‘Constitution’..

    Going The Way Of ‘Christian’..

    With Far-Right Linkage

One could see, as far back as 30 years ago, that the term ‘Christian’ was becoming politicized by America’s far-right movement.

Today most Millennials actually associate the term ‘Christian’ with far-right politics. One cannot even use the term, in liberal company, without evoking a reaction to right-wingers. ‘Christian’ has totally lost its identity as a term for positive, compassionate values.

And now ‘Constitution’ is going the way of ‘Christian’ thanks to our current court. In very short order we have heard the term ‘Constitution’ referenced to revoke a right women had for 50 years.

‘Constitution’ was also referenced to gut a New York gun law that had been in effect since 1912. Then the court used ‘Constitution’ to marginalize almost every regulatory agency. Our ability to adapt to Climate Change is now in serious doubt.

Already at least half the country is sick of hearing ‘Constitution’ in the context of excuses for rulings that seem to dovetail with long-sought Republican priorities. And we are quickly reaching a point where ‘Constitution’ is a term we link with far-right politics.

You just said (i.e. confessed) that in the United States of America – do you have a deep, nay, treasonous compulsion to “fundamentally transform” them?

“Crazy Abe” Lincoln was sick of hearing about the severe limitations and restrictions on government established by the Constitution and Bill of Rights so he unconstitutionally denied fully constitutional secession, declared martial law, seized power as a tyrannical, despotic dictator, and conducted his wholly illicit and unconstitutional “Reign of Terror,” ending American Constitutional freedom after a mere 71 years.

You just processed and comprehended that the direct and mortal enemies of the Constitution, America and Americans reveal themselves in all their glory on an hourly, daily basis.

There they are for all the world to see.

The question begs: What is the proper disposition of the enemy?

      Joshua 6

Joshua 6 Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.

2 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”

20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. 21 They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.

27 So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.

    2. Still stealing other intellectual property I see.

This is nothing but political chaff, because you have nothing to offer to the discussion. It is a meaningless word salad opining about nothing. It is a diversion from someone bereft of ideas.

    3. Our ability to adapt to Climate Change is now in serious doubt.

All the court pointed out, Congress has never, (cant) delegated to agencies the power to write law. Congress just has to legislate. We know they can. Just do it.

All your whining is answered by the legislature following the constitution and legislate.

You are crying crocodile tears because the people refuse to follow the leftist agenda. Every thing the left has gained, is through the court. Because they cannot get enough votes to pass their radical agenda.

      1. Iowan said; “Every thing the left has gained, is through the court. Because they cannot get enough votes to pass their radical agenda.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself sir!

              1. You are always wrong, That has to be depressing. Lashing out, making stuff up. Normal. But still wrong.

  6. Jason Whitlock gets it. Prove him wrong.

We’re dead. Dead on the Fourth of July.

Robert Crimo, a 22-year-old kid arrested for the Highland Park shooting, allegedly ended what 46-year-old Crispus Attucks started on March 5, 1770. Accurate historians won’t credit Crimo with America’s death. The autopsy will show that the greatest experiment in human history succumbed to the cancer of cultural rot and the rejection of biblical truth. Highland Park, Uvalde, Waukesha, the summer of George Floyd riots, the COVID lockdowns, the family-friendly drag queen grooming, the New York Times 1619 Project, Trump derangement, critical race theory, and the vilification of law enforcement are all byproducts of the cultural decay.

  7. @Enigma

    Again you really surprise me.
    Free clue…

Have you ever seen a person’s personal digital footprint get scrubbed so fast?

Had he been a Trump supporter… it wouldn’t have been scrubbed that quickly.

    That’s the negative space aspect.

And no, Highland Park is not a bastion of Trump supporters.
I take it you’ve never been?

No, Highland Park is a liberal bastion.
    Just like Oak Park.

I suggest you do a bit more research.

    1. @Ian

Enigma is a long time troll. He may or may not actually be an African American person. Impossible to tell. He is likely paid, because he only shows up at te most opportune times for the radical DNC. You are welcome to browse former, less polarizing threads, in which Enigma does not make a single appearance. The internet lies, I am here for the Professor, who legitimately seems to simply care about the Constitution and the law. My forebears were Irish immigrants, and if they even know about it, young leftists seem to think indentured servitude seems to be different from slavery to these idiots, comfortable in their parent’s wealth. Color never made a difference, and these fools do not see that their unachievable, inherited wealth was the thing going back to the middle ages. They are ignorant, privileged and indoctrinated beyond comprehension, that is not what America is about, and I suspect it will not end well for them. Whatever. We have had lost generations before. Their screams of discomfort will echo all the way to having to take responsibility for themselves or not. We are far, afar to used to just doing as we please, no matter the impact on the others we are supposed to care about.

      1. Hello James, I do get paid for some of my writing, never here and not by the DNC or any political entity. I earn money like every other writer on Medium based on views and length of time reading. I respond to what interests me, or to ridiculous claims, like Ian saying there are no Republicans in Highland Park, or that the shooter is tied to Antifa because, “Where’s Waldo.”
As for you, you amuse me by continually suggesting I’m not Black? I don’t even know your point, nothing I said in this thread has anything do do with race until you brought it up. Click on my picture and you find some personal information including my name. Scroll thru my Facebook page and there are pictures going back to high school including labeled yearbook pictures. My writing (often including pictures) will live on the Internet forever, so will yours.
Your views on the history of race in America are deluded, that’s understandable because it’s what you’ve been taught. Many of your Irish forebears survived by keeping down other immigrants. John B Say never responded to me bringing up Irish immigrants in Cincinnati making multiple attacks on free Black people which ended up reducing the Black population in Ohio to 4% from a significantly higher number previously. The disproportionate percentage of Irish people in the police, past and present is directly associated with their role in controlling immigrants throughout the Northeast and Midwest. I’m not mad at the Irish, nor do I go around singling them out, but you brought them up.
So before you suggest that Irish people rose up all on their own, pulling themselves up by their bootstraps. Look at their history. Once they served white interests long enough, they too were considered white and eligible for (most) all the benefits.,this%20decade%2C%20p

        1. I beleive I have responded to nearly every purported point you have ever made in a reply to me.

But I do not read every single post you make, so if you addressed something to me without replying to me – I likely missed it.

I do not know of the instance you cite, but knowing nothing of the specifics it is still trivial to address.

Annecdotes are NOT patterns without the data to back them up.

I have no doubt that somewhere sometime the Irish have treated blacks badly.
At the same time the Irish are probably the single largest ethnic group that died to free slaves in this country.

That does not excuse the actions of all irish ever towards blacks,
But it does destroy any claim to a historical theme.

I strongly suspect that far more irish have died at th hands of blacks than visa versa.

Blacks make up 14% of the country and commit 50% of the murders.
While blacks murder blacks most frequently, they murder whites at more than twice the rate whites murder blacks.

So even though americans of irish descent are only a portion of all whites, it is still likely that more irish have been killed by blacks than the other way arround.

        2. It is YOUR views on race that are the problem.

It is not relevant what you or I were taught.

YOUR views are not supported by the FACTS.

What we should be taught is what the FACTS support.

The history of the US has a strong minor theme of Race. But pretty much the OPPOSITE of what you claim.

The anglosphere more generally and the US most strongly is the only significant effort in the history of he world to acheive nations with racial (or any other) diversity. That history is repleat with myriads of failures, but the theme is still towards, racial, religious, ethnic, cultural diversity.

That is the theme, the narative of the US.

YOUR faux history is a bogus effort to pretend that because the US did not instantly reach perfect racial equality that it is somehow evil.

Go to china – 95% of the population is Hahn Chinese, and they are actively exterminating Uighurs even today.

Go to Africa – the Hutu’s in Rwanda murdered 800,000 Tutsi in a few months – mostly with machetti’s. That is nearly double the deaths in the entire US Civil War.

Even today Africa is rife with racial and ethnic violence – perpitrated by blacks against other ethinic groups, or whites or anyone different.

Even today in india there is a caste system between groups that the rest of us can not even tell apart.

Go to Europe – there are few countries in Europe where CITIZENS are not white, and of the same religion – almost exclusively.
There is an increasing body of non-white immigrants in Europe but they are not and can not become citizens, nor can their children.

Name a non-anglo country that is no made up of atleast 80% o the same race ? In most cases 95% and all the same religion and even Tribe.

An order of magnitude more blacks from africa were taken from Africa to the mideast.
Why isn’t the mideast full of blacks today ?
Because they only took black men, and they castrated them.

Today the US is in a cunudrum because some of the Ukrainian soldiers are Nazi’s or nazi adjacent.
Ukraine is 77% ethnic Ukrainian, 17% ethnic Russia, and the rest is peoples from adjacent countries.
There virtually no Asians, blacks or Jews in the country.

So what exactly is a Ukrainian Nazi ?

Regardless, in 2022 there is almost no consequential ethnic or racial diversity anywhere in the world outside of the Anglosphere.

Further the US is the MOST diverse of all countries.

Have we done that perfectly – certainly not.

        3. It is universally true throughout the world that people of one race view themselves as supperior to others.

That is true of the irish and italians just as it is of the Hutu and Tustsi .

Were the Irish americans predjudiced ? Absolutely, just as every other group including blacks.
Did many of them seek to disadvantage blacks or asians, or poles or italians ? Absolutely.

          What is your point ?

Irish immigrants to the US were treated abysmally – but over the course of centuries less badly than blacks.
The Irish in Ireland were treated as bad or worse than blacks in the US – particularly after the civil war.

The abuse of the irish lasted far longer.

To be clear, my point is that your view of history is fraudulent, not that the modern world owes the Irish anything.

Chinese immigrants to the US were never slaves. But near universally they were the worst treated immigrant group.
Long after Blacks were citizens – Chinese could not be. It was not until the 1960’s that the Chinese in the US were free to live wherever they pleased.

The Quaint Chinatowns throughout the US did not happen by accident, they are because that was were people of chinese descent were required to live.

  8. Robert “Bobby” Crimo III — living proof that draconian gun laws haven’t worked, didn’t work and will never work. They just disarm us to make us prey for the power mad among us. Today, it’s the Dims.

  9. @Enigmainblack …

    I did a quick response… lets give you a bit more…

    1) In his music videos… someone has pointed out his references to ANTIFA.
    2) His ‘Where’s Waldo’ punking of Trump supporters.
    3) There are no Republicans or Trump supporters living in Highland Park.

Do you really want to play this game?
Or wait until the comb thru his media posts and music videos?

He’s not a Trump supporter that’s fairly obvious.

    1. He has attended Trump events, what references did someone point out to Antifa? Believing any damn thing is how you end up thinking elections were stolen and Italian satellites changed votes, and fake Chinese ballots with bamboo were added, and… and… and…
I’m not claiming he’s a Trump supporter despite the pictures and events he attended. I can wait to find out. You should try the same.

How does a “Where’s Waldo” outfit punk Trump supporters? No Trump supporters or Republicans live in Highland Park? You need someone to proof your comments before you press send. 40% of the voters there supported Trump.

        1. What about his look makes him Antifa? The level of proof you require to make baseless claims is ridiculous. I hope none of you are lawyers, then again there’s Sydney Powell and Rudy Guiliani.

      1. Enigma:

Not enough data has been released to clarify his political beliefs, if any.

He posted a photo of him dressed as Waldo at a Trump rally, and wearing a Trump flag as a cape. He also has liked Biden videos on social media. He raps under the name Awake the Rapper, and was wearing women’s clothing at the time of the shooting.

He belonged to various chat rooms obsessed with murder.

This guy was a weird dude that neither Democrats nor Republicans want associated with them.

If he’s affiliated with Democrats, then there will be outrage that so many Democrats promoted the “eff the 4th” movement. If he’s Republican, then Democrats will call the Republican Party a terrorist organization.

He fits the profile of a physically weak incel, unsuccessful, socially awkward, going nowhere, and going deeper into violent fantasies in which he’s a violent, powerful figure to be feared. He lacked connection to community and a moral foundation.

He’s neither a moderate Democrat, nor a conservative, because it would be pretty weird for a conservative to fire upon a patriotic 4th of July parade. This wasn’t a subtle attack to achieve some lofty political goal. It was a wimp trying to be infamous.

        1. “Not enough data has been released to clarify his political beliefs, if any.”

I agree with you 100% which is why I asked the people who claimed he was Antifa to document it. In their minds they did by repeating what someone else said. I never claimed he was conservative (though I don’t know what conservative means anymore besides blindly following Trump).

          1. Enigma:

I agree with you that people are being quick to assign him to the “other side.”

            1. When the truth becomes apparent, there will be those that refuse to believe because it goes against their narrative. Today there are bloggers and websites who purposely put out misleading information to dig at the other side.

              1. EB there is not any substance in your post.

Vague predictions that some nebulous hypothetical truth will be revealed are nonsense.

I would be ashamed to post such nonsense.

                  1. I have absolutely no reason to be ashamed presenting ACTUAL evidence.

You can dislike the fact that 2000 Mules was produced by D’Souza,

But a Fact is a fact even if the source is hitler.

If your only familiarity with the TTV evidence is the abysmally bad fact checks – you know the ones from groups that got Ukraine, the collusion delusion and pretty much everything else in the past 6 years wrong – then you know nothing.

You should review the TTV/2000 Mules claims skeptically.

Just as you should fact checks that reject them for idiotic reasons.

The “Cell Phone” location data the police Typically use varies in accuracy from +-1000ft to +-100ft.

She had a client convicted of burglary based on a single Cell Tower position +-1000ft that placed him half way between the building that was robbed and his home.

TTV is using GPS location data that is provided by the applications on your phone. If you have an Apple of Google Smart phone and you have locations services enabled for any application that is currently running then you phone is sending that App regular updates of your location.

That is how you get location specific adds and offers. But the data does not go directly to the App – it goes to Apple or Google first. They store and collect the data and they make money selling it to others.

TTV Bought 16Trillion smart device location points from the greater metropolitain area of the 6 cites that flipped the election.

And fo the Record Government statistician John Lott has previsious done a statistical analysis of those 6 cities comparing voting patterns in adjacent precincts and has found that Voting in those 6 cities did NOT follow the same trends and patters that were present elsewhere in the country, and did not follow the trends and patterns of democraphically identical and adjacent districts where ballots were counted by different election officials.

This technique is used in statistics and economics all the time to find anomolous data – and Lott found that there3 was a 400K vote statistical anomally in those locations that defied 2020 voting trends.

That is not proof of fraud, But it is far more than suffficient invidence that an investigation is required.

Government did not conduct an investigation – TTV did.

The removed all data for devices that frequented the locations of ballot drop boxes BEFORE the start of voting.
This was to eliminate people who as a part of their normal lives were regularly close to where ballot drop boxes were placed.

They then narrowed their criteria for suspected ballot harvesting further – only smart devices that were within 1m of 10 drop boxes in one day and 5 of the 501C3’s running Biden’s GOTV operation. So to be counted as a Ballot Harvesting suspect – you had to be within 1m of 15 different election related locations in ONE day.

The statistical odds of that generating a false positive for Ballot harvesting is miniscule.
Using those criteria in the 6 cities they identified over 2000 smart devices that visited 5 Biden 501C3 and 10 Drop boxes in one night.

Then they went to the next step and used FOIA requests and court orders to get 1million minutes of Security video of ballot boxes from these areas.
They should have been able to get far more – but in most instances legally required cameras were not installed or disabled or the video was destroyed in violation of state and federal election law – in otherwords MORE ELECTION FRAUD.

Using the 1m minutes of video they were able to find video that matched many of the GPS data points – in otherwords if the GPS said that a person was at a ballot box on this day and time – they were able to find that person at that ballot box with their cell phone at the date, time and location the GPS data specified. That Video showed that person depositing 5-6 Ballots into the drop box at that date and time and taking pictures to prove the ballots were being deposited.

TTV separately through adds and other means found some of the ballot harvestors and was able to interview them where they reported that the pictures were the proof they needed to get paid for delivering the ballots.

TTV has taken the investigation as far is it can be taken without the power to subpeona the identities of the people harvesting ballots, and the financial records of the 501C3’s they visited to prove payment.

I would note that if the criteria was reduced to 5 dropboxes in a night instead of 10 that would increase the number of ballot harvesters to 8000 and the number of fraudulent ballots to almost 1M, but it would also increase slightly the false positive rate.

That would be relevant – if you were looking to convict a “mule” – it is not relevant if you are trying to prove Election Fraud.

If TTV’s criteria produced a False positive rate of 10% – the likely false positive rate is more like 0.1% it would STILL conclusively proof massive election fraud.

In all of these states it is illegal to pay someone to deliver ballots,
It is illegal to deliver ballots of people you have no relationship to.
It is illegal to deliver multiple ballots.

In some of these states it is illegal to deliver ballots for anyone but yourself.
In others a spouse may deliver their spouses ballot.
In some immediate familiy is permitted to deliver ballots.
In some a person with a power of attorney i allowed to deliver ballots.
In some election officials can be requested to pick up ballots for people who can not themselves.

In no states are all these methods legal.
In no states would what TTV found be legal.

I would note that TTV is not done yet.

They are using similar techniques to investigate other claims ofelection fraud.

As an example there are several affidavits that claim that a van with many boxes containing thousands of abllots each showed up an the Detriot counting center at 3am election night – 7 hours after MI law barred election officials from accepting additional ballots. There is no record of this van delivery. There is no record of the required two observers – 1 democrat 1 republican that are required to oversee any transfer of ballots.

After a very long court battle TTV was able to enforce an FOAI request for the Video from the Detroit counting center. And they found a van arriving at 3:35am with Official election markings, They have further using the Geolocation data they already collected been able to identify 8 smart devices that appeared in that loading dock at the same time as the van, and they are working on tracing these. They expect to be able to trace the route of the van and determine where it picked up the ballots. While the van’s existance already validates PRIOR affadavits regarding Detroit election fraud.
Tracking the van will allow TTV to determine where the ballots likely originated. If the van’s stops were not at election sites – if they were at democrat 501C3’s this is damning evidence of large scale fraud.

                    1. The man who was Trump’s Attorney General at the time literally laughed at 2000 Mules. Who had access to more information, him, you, or D’Souza?

                    2. The man who laughed, Barr, repeated the data incorrectly. How come?

                    3. Who’s to say he was the one incorrect? He had investigations done on every ridiculous claim, he had all the resources of the Justice Dept, interviewed witnesses, watched tapes. Yet you say he’s wrong so I should believe you?
This is a man who did everything he could possibly do to act as a shield for Trump. Why would he lie to make him look bad?

                    4. “Who’s to say he was the one incorrect?”

Because he quoted a factual number. He wasn’t saying they lied. He repeated the data incorrectly. If Kamala Harris said inflation was at 3.5% when it has been reported as 8.5% what would you say?

                    5. So ?

Do you make arguments that are not appeal to authority ?

Barr displayed his own ignorance. The evidence presented in 2000 meals is far better than is used everyday to convict people of heinous crimes.

If they cared to, nearly every DA in the US could get a conviction for election fraud fo Each of the 2000 “mules” that TTV found.

Drug dealers are convicted on far less evidence every day.

Barr either knows or should know that.

The Geolocation data TTV used is far more precise than the Cell Tower Data that the police typically use. The geolocation data is +- 1meter,
The Cell data varied from +-50ft to +-1000ft.

Geolocation data is derived by your smart device, it minimally is based on GPS, but that is typically improved using Cellular and even WiFi signals.
So it is always atleast as accurate as GPS. Which since Clinton turned off the automatic Error inducement in the 90’s is +-3ft.

I would further note – it is not the 90’s anymore – there are now 6+ constellations of “gps” satellites, Those of the US are the most pervasive, but there are other systems and most GPS chipsets can receive from several of them – improving accuracy even further.

        2. @Karen S.

Look at the photos of his tattoos.
That’s a good indication when you consider the meaning of some of them.
Then the symbolism in his videos. He uses some of the same ANTIFA symbols.

          That hasn’t been scrubbed.

What is troubling is that the police were called on him. No charges made and they left taking the knifes with them.
They should have been able to take him in for an involuntary psych eval.
The problem is that if he was ok, the psych eval could be damaging by itself.

Crimo is a good example as to why we need the death penalty.

          1. Ian:

I was so frustrated to learn that once again, laws already in place were not used to prevent a mentally unstable person from committing a violent crime like a mass shooting.

Police were called to the residence in 2019 because Crimo was having suicidal thoughts, but he was not involuntarily committed. Police were called again a few months later because a relative said he’d threatened to “kill everyone” and had a bladed arsenal. Police seized around 16 knives and a sword. However, the family declined to press charges, he was not involuntarily committed, nor was he brought before a judge to rule him incompetent to purchase a weapon. No record was in NICS to flag a background check.

Crimo was described as an anti-social who spent all his time on his computer. It begs the question if his relatives were unaware that this time was spent in chat rooms obsessed with murder and mass shootings, or posting disturbing rap videos with amateur cartoons of mass shootings.

In Illinois, you need a cosponsor to sign off on your Firearm Owners Identification card, or FOID, in order to purchase a firearm if you are under age 21. After his unstable behavior in 2019, his father still agreed to sponsor his FOID in order for him to purchase multiple weapons.

Crimo’s uncle announced to the media that there was no warning whatsoever that this guy was potentially violent. He was either being untruthful, or the family did not share information on Crimo’s mental state with other relatives.

Due process is required to remove the right to buy a firearm from an American citizen. Why isn’t that process being followed with clearly unstable people?

That said, I used to work with someone who had a cousin with mental health issues. He assaulted his father, who declined to press charges. Over and over, he tried to hurt people, who were either relatives or friends, who didn’t want to have him arrested due to their connection. They wanted him committed for inpatient care, but apparently it’s become quite difficult to commit someone against their will. My friend said that he would probably have to kill someone before he was ever committed or taken off the street.

  10. His tats?

Along w the fact that he dressed as ‘where’s Waldo’ as a way to Punk Trump.

Oh and the very simple fact that there are no Republicans living in Highland Park.

  11. @PeterK,

If you read the article… they said high velocity rounds, which is correct. Most of the news reported as high powered. Its not.

The other thing is that the NBC article went back to the local ordinance banning ARs and AKs.
SCOTUS should have heard the case. Instead it allowed the law to stand.

It did nothing to protect these people.

Revisit the law? How about enforcing the laws on the books instead?

  12. Iowan2,
We had a get together with friends over the weekend for some 4th festivities to include target shooting.
We self identify as a well self-regulated militia and self-regulated consumers of beer, brats, and burgers.
As the Founding Fathers and the Constitution meant.

  13. @PeterK

I was the first poster on this article.
    I pointed that out.

They haven’t said what gun was used only that it was a ‘high powered’ rifle. (Something the AR or AK is not)
(5.56 NATO or 7.62x39mm are not ‘high powered’ rifle rounds)

    That’s what makes this interesting.

More gun laws when in fact the possession of the guns in question may have been illegal to own in Highland Park.

There’s more to this… like his ties to ANTIFA or Socialist Democrats.

        1. I don’t often dismiss information simply because of the source. Many of you dismiss data if it was printed in the NYT or was on MSNBC despite being available on multiple sites including outlets on the right. The Gateway Pundit constantly lies, knowing that there are those who will believe anything without checking. The same outlet blamed Charlottesville on Antifa, they blamed Jan. 6th on Antifa, they tell you what you need to hear. You live in a bubble, try breaking out.

  14. Until we come to grips with how our culture has evolved once public policy became hostile to the teaching of religion in public schools, then we won’t ever be able to construct adequate laws that secure our right to life, liberty and property. We cannot seek to understand what the framer’s intended in the 2nd amendment, or any of the 1st ten amendments, without understanding the culture at the time they were written. Would they have written the 1st amendment to protect a press that was hostile to those concerned about tyranny of government? Would they have ever been able to get the constitution ratified if the teaching of religion was banned in public schools? Would it have ever been ratified if the government eliminated the right to private gun ownership, while the same government encouraged an absolutely immoral culture? John Adams expressed it very well:

But should the People of America, once become capable of that deep, simulation towards one another and towards foreign nations, which assumes the Language of Justice and moderation while it is practicing Iniquity and Extravagance; and displays in the most captivating manner the charming Pictures of Candour frankness & sincerity while it is rioting in rapine and Insolence: this Country will be the most miserable Habitation in the World. Because We have no Government armed with Power capable of contending with human Passions unbridled by morality and Religion. Avarice, Ambition, Revenge or Galantry, would break the strongest Cords of our Constitution as a Whale goes through a Net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

    1. The constitution was written at a time when there were few public schools, and those that existed were in communities where there was one denomination and that denomination controlled the government and the schools.

The best answer is to eliminate public schools.

If there is a conflict between govenrment and religion – in nearly all instances GOVERNMENT must yeild.

If a teacher can not pray in government school – then there can be no government schools,.

The first amendment guarantees people the right to practice their religion.
There is no right or enumerated power for government to run schools.

I have no problem with the lefts broad reading of the establishment clause. Only with their remedy.

The establishment clause does NOT mandate that religion must yield.
It mandates that government must yield to religion.

  15. @Paul,

A buddy of mine had biked in to Highland Park but left just before the shooting because of the parade.

When I heard about the shooting, I texted my wife and Mother in Law who were at Lincoln Park Zoo, to get home.

    Never know what’s next.

As it turns out, the shooter has ties to ANTIFA, Social Democrats, etc …

    Hopefully the truth comes out.
Kamel Toe is coming to push more useless gun laws. Demented Joe is staying home.

For those who don’t know the area… Highland Park is full of liberals and aging hippies.
They passed silly gun laws that don’t work.

If you listen to some of the videos of the shooting… he emptied a magazine, reloaded and started to shoot again.

So what does that say about laws against hi capacity magazines? (They are worthless.)

The key isn’t new laws. But enforcing the existing ones and getting bad laws off the books.
Highland Park outlawed ARs and AKs.

While the shooter legally bought a semi-automatic rifle… not that the press is saying what it is… if its an AR… his possession in Highland Park would have been illegal. Yet they aren’t talking about it.

      1. Enigma:

Who do you think is “ignoring” the actions of a mass shooter?

        1. The people who respond by accusing the shooter of being Antifa or leftist Democrats or point out that Highland Park likely had a ban on that type of weapon so all we need to do is enforce existing laws, while advocating no solutions.

  16. I remember where I was the day John Kennedy was murdered. Ever since that day we have gone down the path of more and more gun rules and regulations. How has it worked the past 59 years?

    1. Kennedy was killed with a Italian bolt action carbine.

  17. OT

The judicial branch, with emphasis on the Supreme Court, is the singular American failure.

    The Constitution is conservative.

Congress has the power to tax for debt, security, and for ONLY “…the…general Welfare…” not individual welfare, specific welfare, particular welfare, favor or charity.

The Constitution is not liberal, collectivist, Marxist, socialistic, or communistic; the Constitution is conservative.

Democrats cannot vote for “entitlements” and “benefits” because they are unconstitutional.

There is no need for democrats to vote.

The American Founders did not give Americans “free stuff.”

The American Founders gave Americans “freedom.”

Americans are free to “pursue happiness” and their own individual prosperity.

The American Founders did not give Americans welfare, food stamps, affirmative action, quotas, minimum wage, rent control, social services, forced busing, public housing, utility subsidies, WIC, SNAP, TANF, HAMP, HARP, TARP, HHS, HUD, Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc.

The entire American welfare state is unconstitutional.

    Democrats cannot vote for it.

The judicial branch, with emphasis on the Supreme Court, is the singular American failure.

  18. Execution should be a shot in the face and not some electric chair or gas chamber.

  19. A Person of Color (POC)… a veritable Rainbow.

    Minority report?

Gun running, gun walking, open borders, antidepressant psychotics, “heros”, too, and other people of criminal intent (POCI) who plan and elect to take affirmative action to abort real and perceived “burdens”.
