Then There Were Nine: Comer Alleges A Wider Range of Potential Biden Beneficiaries from Possible Influence Peddling

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer  has revealed that there are not three but nine members of the Biden family that may have benefitted from suspected influence peddling efforts. For those of us who have long criticized the corrupt practices of the Biden family, the identity of these other family members is intriguing after the Committee secured new bank and financial records. Democratic members again insisted that there is no need to investigate such influence peddling.

The new information on the Biden family is due largely to the takeover of the House by the GOP. Previously, Democrats blocked efforts to investigate influence peddling by the Biden family for years.

After assuming control of the Committee. Comer sought suspicious activity reports sent by banks to the Treasury Department alerting of potential criminal activity in transactions involving President Biden’s family.

He stated on Monday that “We’ve identified six additional members of Joe Biden’s family who may have benefited from the Biden family’s businesses that we are investigating, bringing the total number of those involved or benefiting to nine.” Those six names are in addition to three Biden family members and two associates previously linked to payments from China in 2017.  Three million dollars were wired to Biden family associate Rob Walker in March 2017, who then allegedly divided and distributed the funds later.

There remains an “Unknown Biden” who received four payments in 2017 totaling $70,000.

The investigation into the Bidens has made many in the Beltway uncomfortable. Influence peddling has long been the favored form of corruption in this city, but few families seem to have cashed in to the extent of the Bidens.

I frankly do not understand the willingness of so many Democrats to cover for the Bidens. Democratic members have gone all in with censorship, but this is an effort to scuttle investigations into corruption that may have resulted in millions of dollars going to Biden family members.

The Biden family has long been associated with influence peddling to the degree that they could add an access key to their family crest. Influence peddling has long been a cottage industry in Washington. For decades, I have written about this loophole in bribery laws. It is illegal to give a member of Congress or a president even $100 to gain influence. However, you can literally give millions to their spouses or children in the forms of windfall contracts or cozy jobs.

James Biden has been remarkably (even refreshingly) open about marketing his access to his brother. Former Americore executive Tom Pritchard and others allege that Biden openly referenced his access to his brother and his family name in his pitch for clients. James has faced a wide array of litigation over allegedly fraudulent activities as well as a personal loan acquired through Americore before it went into bankruptcy.

Hunter worked with his uncle but also branched off on his own in the family business. While his father recently emphasized that his son was a hopeless addict, that defense stands in glaring contradiction to the fact that he maintained a multimillion-dollar influence-peddling scheme. The question is why foreign figures (including some associated with foreign intelligence) made these money transfers and complex deals worth millions from Moscow to Kyiv to Beijing.

However, the Biden most concerned may be the president himself. Joe Biden has repeatedly denied knowledge of Hunter Biden’s business entanglements despite numerous emails and pictures showing him meeting with Hunter associates. That includes at least 19 visits to the White House by Hunter’s partner, Eric Schwerin, alone between 2009 and 2015.

Emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop make repeated reference to his father as a possible recipient of funds derived from influence peddling. Indeed, in one email, Tony Bobulinski, then a business partner of Hunter, was instructed by Biden associate James Gilliar that the Bidens wanted to avoid such references: “Don’t mention Joe being involved, it’s only when u [sic] are face to face, I know u [sic] know that but they are paranoid.”

In discussing these deals, Joe Biden is referenced with code names such as “Celtic” or “the big guy.” In one, “the big guy” is discussed as possibly receiving a 10% cut on a deal with a Chinese energy firm. There are also references to Hunter paying off the bills of his father from shared accounts. From his board memberships to venture deals to legal fees to his art deals, Hunter Biden is a tour de force of alleged corrupt practices used in Washington.

Many Democrats and legal experts have objected that influence peddling is not a crime. However, it is corrupt and squarely within the oversight authority of Congress. Indeed, if it is not a matter for criminal charges, such congressional action may be the only way to force accountability for corrupt efforts to sell influence and access.

  1. “I frankly do not understand the willingness of so many Democrats to cover for the Bidens. Democratic members have gone all in with censorship, but this is an effort to scuttle investigations into corruption”
oh that’s easy they are worried that they will be next in the bullseye

  2. Too bad Agatha Christie isn’t here. It’s quite the interesting mystery story.

  3. “I’m proud to say I’m one of the poorest members of Congress.”
Joe Biden made this line part of his ridiculous “lunch box joe” schtick, and that’s the first clue that biden is one of the most corrupt liars in Congress.
Besides being an SOB, Biden has done nothing in his entire adult life but enrich himself and his family by selling his political office and running state of Delaware like a mafia family.
The big guy has run this grift for so long that he seems to believe his own lies.

  4. Jonathan: If “influence peddling” was a crime more than half of Congress and state legislators would be doing hard time. But you say even if “influence peddling” is not a crime “it is corrupt and squarely within the oversight authority of Congress”. Jim Comer has made it his mission to uncover what you call the “corrupt practices of the Biden family”. So far Comer has little to show for all his efforts.

It’s funny that other real influence peddling in Washington is not on your radar. Clarence Thomas is now the center of a controversy involving his acceptance of gifts from the right-wing billionaire Harlan Crow. New reporting reveals that Crow owns the house where Thomas’ mother lives. Thomas failed to report the sale of the house to Crow on required financial reporting forms. Thomas also tried to disguise hundreds of thousands of dollars in rental income from property Ginni Thomas’ parents developed in Nebraska. Clarence did report the rental income as coming from “Ginger Ltd, LLC”. But that entity had not existed since 2006–when the leases for the property were transferred to Ginni’s sister. Thomas now says he is going to “update” his financial disclosure statements. Pretty much an admission he tried to cover up his corrupt relationship with Harlan Crow.

Rolling Stone has now found interesting aspects to Harlan Crow who Thomas claims is his “best friend”. Cross has a strange fascination for Nazi memorabilia. Over the years his has put together a vast collection of Nazi era items–original paintings by Adolf Hitler and a set of swastika emblazoned napkins. Crow even has a signed copy of “Mein Kampf” and many other items from Hitler’s reign.

So why would Crow be so fascinated with Hitler and the Nazi era? Probably for the same reason Donald Trump had the speeches of Hitler on his bedside stand in the White House. Harlan Crow and Donald Trump see the Nazi era as a model for authoritarian rule in the US–the idea that democratic institutions have failed and stronger measures are required to deal with the “popular will”. We saw that playing out on Jan. 6 when Trump attempted an insurrection to overturn a legitimate democratic election. Harlan Crow sees Clarence Thomas as a vessel–a way to push the Supreme Court in a right-wing direction, toward authoritarian rule. How else to explain Thomas’ lonely dissent in the case involving the Jan. 6 Committee’s attempt to get docs from the WH? Thomas seems to think Trump is above the law.

Clarence Thomas is the poster child for influence peddling and corruption these days in Washington. Harlan Crow’s efforts to influence the Supreme Court through 25 years of gift giving to Clarence Thomas are a prime example. But you and Chairman Comer would rather focus on, so far, unproven allegations against the Biden family. Why? Because the sole purpose of this fishing expedition is to taint the Biden administration with “corruption” so voters will vote for the GOP candidate next year. Couldn’t be any simpler then that.

    1. ^^^^MSNBC brainwashing strikes again ^^^^
Yeah….we’ll take him down this time for sure….let’s go after the black man who dared to leave the democrat plantation!

    2. He’s avoiding any talk about the trial. I bet when he does he’s going to focus on the jurors and the judge to make excuses for Fox News. It’s virtually guaranteed.

    3. See if you can spot the difference:

Justice Thomas vacationed with his best friend of 25 years—with no business before the Supreme Court.

A current Democrat-appointed justice regularly vacations with an attorney whose law firm—and a Fortune 5 company on whose board the attorney sits—has constant matters before the Court.

    4. Dennis: thank you for this excellent piece. All a discerning reader has to do to put Turley’s writings into context is look for the qualifiers: “may have”…”possible”….”alleged”. The disciples don’t notice and don’t care about the qualifiers. In addition to ignoring actual, proven ethical problems, like ClarenceThomas’s, Turley is silent regarding the scandal involving that Texas federal judge, a Trump appointee, who issued the order to pull mifepristone from the market. He had written a law review article expressing extreme views on abortion, that had been submitted for publication and approved, but not published. When he became a candidate for a federal judgeship, he pressed the editor to remove his name and to place the names of two students instead, which was how the article was published. Joe Patrice of “Above the Law” wrote an excellent piece on this, pointing out that when an article is submitted for publication, it is necessary to sign a declaration that the putative author really did write the piece, so one way or the other, there was dishonesty involved–either the judge didn’t write it in the first place, or he did (more likely) but was trying to conceal the extent of his extreme views on abortion rights to juice up his chances to get the nomination. Joe also pointed out how futile this gesture was because the Judge’s extreme position on abortion rights was already well-known, so it was thoroughly unnecessary to engage in this exercise of academic fraud. Sort of reminds you of Barrett, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch lying about their views on abortion as being a “settled issue” just so they could get on the bench and take away a woman’s right to choose.

But, as we all know, Turley isn’t paid to be neutral or to write about anything criticizing the Republican agenda, hence today’s piece implying that Biden is “corrupt”, without anything resembling proof.

      1. “he pressed the editor to remove his name and to place the names of two students instead, which was how the article was published” as reported elsewhere the editor said that the judge’s name was a place holder a common practice

        1. “reported elsewhere”? By whom? I’ve never heard of such intellectual dishonesty involving law review articles, which is what this was. Authoring a law review article can get you an interview or even a judicial clerkship, so hanky-panky on attribution doesn’t happen.

      2. Gigi: Wish you lived nearby so I could treat you to a night out at my favorite watering hole. But be careful. You compliments might be interpreted by some on this blog as a “conspiracy” to get Prof. Turley. For the true believers Turley’s pronouncements must be accepted as holy writ. No criticism is permitted. They are also MAGA supporters who kept telling us the Trumpster could never be indicted for any of his crimes. The 34 count criminal indictment by DA Alvin Bragg threw cold water on that spurious claim. Notice Turley has yet to discuss that criminal indictment or the one Fanni Willis is working on down in Fulton County. Turley engages in diversion and distraction by trying to get us to focus on the “vast corruption” of the Biden family or how Gov. DeSantis is going to drive Disney out of the Sunshine State. It’s what magicians do in their card tricks. The professor won’t even discuss the far greater “corruption” of the Supreme Court by Clarence Thomas. The loyal followers of Turley are gullible cult followers who lost their power of rational and logical thought a long time ago!

        1. Thank you, Dennis, I’d like that because we could have some wonderful conversations. But If I told you where I live, you wouldn’t believe me because it’s as gun-totin’, unborn baby-saving Evangelical and ruby-red as it gets here in the US. I lost a good friend over the argument as to whether Antifa members were really the ones who invaded the Capitol just to make Trump look bad. She really believed that. I’ve learned that members of Cult 45 can be dangerous, that they really believe the lies, which is why I call them “disciples”, and that they might hurt someone or at least vandalize their property when they disagree with them because they think they’re involved in some righteous movement. That’s why they faithfully tune in to alt-right media and truly believe that mainstream media cannot be trusted. One example: although he has since changed it, at one point when you looked for available Wi Fi networks at my house, those nearby come up with indications of signal strength and whether they are locked. My next-door neighbor’s network was named “Trump is a god”. He meant it. I kid you not. I used to get into lively arguments with him, but he is no longer speaking to me after Trump dropped the birther arguments that he so passionately defended. You will never convince him that the twin towers went down due to aircraft, either—according to him, the government blew them up on purpose for ulterior reasons. These are just 2 examples. But, when it comes to Turley, he does know better, but allows himself to be used to advance a political narrative. That’s just a shame.

              1. No, you certainly don’t “have to”….

So we’ll assume what we all know: you can’t explain Building 7.

          1. After NUTCHACHACHA’s mouth finally closes, let’s bring the relevant facts to bear.

            1. The following also applies directly to Kamala Harris.

Barack Obama will NEVER be eligible to be U.S. president.

Barack Obama did not have “parents” (i.e. two) who were citizens; Obama’s father was a foreign citizen at the time of the candidate’s birth.

              – A mere “citizen” could only have been President at the time of the adoption of the Constitution – not after.

              – The U.S. Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5, requires the President to be a “natural born citizen,” which, by definition in the Law of Nations, requires “parents who are citizens” at the time of birth of the candidate and that he be “…born of a father who is a citizen;…”

              – Ben Franklin thanked Charles Dumas for copies of the Law of Nations which “…has been continually in the hands of the members of our Congress, now sitting,…”

              – “The importance of The Law of Nations, therefore, resides both in its systematic derivation of international law from natural law and in its compelling synthesis of the modern discourse of natural jurisprudence with the even newer language of political economy. The features help to explain the continuing appeal of this text well into the nineteenth century among politicians, international lawyers and political theorists of every complexion.”

              – Law of Nations Editors Bela Kapossy and Richard Whatmore.

              – The Jay/Washington letter of July, 1787, raised the presidential requirement from citizen to “natural born citizen” to place a “strong check” against foreign allegiances by the commander-in-chief.

              – Every American President before Obama had two parents who were American citizens.

              – The Constitution is not a dictionary and does not define esoteric words or phrases, while the Law of Nations, 1758, does.

              – English Common Law and the Law of Nations were adopted, accepted or employed by the United States.

              – The Law of Nations is referenced in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 10, of the U.S. Constitution: “To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations;…”

              Law of Nations, Vattel, 1758

              Book 1, Ch. 19

              § 212. Citizens and natives.

“The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights. The society is supposed to desire this, in consequence of what it owes to its own preservation; and it is presumed, as matter of course, that each citizen, on entering into society, reserves to his children the right of becoming members of it. The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born. I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”

Ben Franklin letter December 9, 1775, thanking Charles Dumas for 3 copies of the Law of Nations:

“…I am much obliged by the kind present you have made us of your edition of Vattel. It came to us in good season, when the circumstances of a rising state make it necessary frequently to consult the law of nations. Accordingly that copy, which I kept, (after depositing one in our own public library here, and sending the other to the College of Massachusetts Bay, as you directed,) has been continually in the hands of the members of our Congress, now sitting, who are much pleased with your notes and preface, and have entertained a high and just esteem for their author…”

            2. ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS for 9/11 TRUTH

              https://www.ae911truth.org/

Peruse the evidence of manipulation of elevators, installation of explosives, the inescapable fact that Building 7, hit by nothing, imploded perfectly in its own footprint, etc.

        2. So Dennis, are you saying the obvious Biden corruption is not newsworthy nor worthy of investigation?

          1. Where is your evidence? Just look at the title of today’s piece: Turley uses the hedge words “alleges”…”potential” and “possible”, because even he’s not trying to claim that there’s proof of any crimes. Turley is paid to use his credentials to feed into the Fox News narrative of a “Biden Crime Family”, but where’s the proof? I want to see it.

            1. There is more than enough evidence to justify further investigations and subpoenas.
There is more than enough “there there” for Pres. Joe Biden himself to have to answer questions.

Because “No one is above the law.” Right?

        3. Dennis, You keep mentioning the “34 count indictment”… btw it’s 34 counts related to the same transaction.

Yet you seem to think Turley bringing attention to the Biden corruption….where we have 154 SARs flagging suspicious banking transactions is not newsworthy?

In all the rectal exams and years of relentless investigations of Trump …. and every member of his family…. tell us, has there been even one SAR flagged? No. Not even one.

But we look at Biden “family business” (whatever that is, exactly) and we see there are at least 154 flagged suspicious transactions that look a lot like illegal money laundering, kickback schemes, perhaps tax evasion, and other potential crimes that you think should be wholly ignored?

There is actual evidence of suspicious Biden family bank transactions where tens of millions came from the CCP alone….plus millions from corrupt foreign oligarchs and regimes around the world….being laundered via numerous cutouts, LLCs, banks…

Hundreds of Biden family transactions have been flagged as suspicious activity….all being kept under wraps, covered up by US Treasury…and you call that a nothingburger? Nothing to see here? Not even worth mentioning?

You are a lost cause. Go back to your MSNBC brainwashing.

    5. anti-Clarence Thomas folks like yourself are worse than anti-Trumpers. Leftists have been trying to take down Thomas since they day he was nominated to the SCOTUS. the attacks on him have been vicious if not down right scurrilous. Was accused of being nothing more than Scalia’s puppet. People complained that he just sat on the court not asking any questions because he was dumb. well listen to him now during hearings ask some penetrating questions

    6. Dennis McIntyre, You say that Comer has little to show for his efforts. How about the actual bank records showing the deposits from the Chinese into the Biden family bank accounts. I hear what your saying. Don’t believe you lying eyes. Do you not think that we can’t see that you are turning the gas light lower and lower in an attempt to make us blind? I understand. Only Denis McIntyre has seen the light.

    7. Dennis says: “Why? Because the sole purpose of this fishing expedition is to taint the Biden administration with “corruption”…”

Haha. Really? Democrats tell us the sole purpose of all the fishing expenditions of Trump is because “No one is above the law!”
Dems and the media insist it was never to “taint” the Trump administration with “corruption” so voters will hate Trump and vote for Basement Biden. No, it’s because “No one is above the law!”

Honey, open your eyes. The Biden administration is one of the most corrupt we’ve ever had from top to bottom. The Biden family is one of the most corrupt first families we have ever had. The Biden ‘family business’ has been tainted with the stink of corruption going back 40 years.

The sole purpose of you defending Biden’s sleeze as a nothingburger is to demonstrate what we all know: Democrats ARE above the law.

  5. Time to pull a leaf from Bragg’s prosecution manual and have state prosecutors look into and prosecute this Biden corruption. The DOJ is too bent to do anything.

While we are at it we can adopt the Pelosi burden of proof and require members of the political crime family to prove their innocence rather than the other way around.

    Sauce/Goose/Gander

  6. When it came to the pump, Joe didn’t feel it…
When it showed up at the grocery store, Joe didn’t notice it…
But now it’s driven up the number of family members under investigation, Joe finally feels the pain of inflation.

    1. I wish I had your optimism that Joe “feels the pain”. It’s quite likely he doesn’t know about the recent disclosures nor ‘care’ if he does.

      1. JAFO, at this point in time the big guy is going to plead that he is not in complete control of his faculties. Hunter will just say he was under the influence of an illegal substance and didn’t know what was going on. And the Biden clan just rides off into the sunset. Nurse Jill will have her hands full. Nothing to see here folks, just move along.

        1. “…the big guy is going to plead that he is not in complete control of his faculties.” No need to plead, it’s been painfully obvious for years to everyone who pays attention, Bob. It’s why his handlers, Obama/Rice and other America haters are running the show, he simply isn’t coherent enough to dress himself any longer, let alone ‘lead’, if you can call it that.

  7. The Fox News v. Dominion trial is about to begin and Turley goes for another BS Biden corruption “scandal” trope?

This must be driving Turley nuts. It seems his employer is forbidding him from covering the Dominion trial, the most important free speech trial in years and Turley still hasn’t made a single comment on it. Nobody cares about the Biden “scandal”. Turley knows this, but his obligation to Fox News deflection from the trial is more important it seems. Jury was just seated. This is going to be a very interesting trial. Hannity, Carlson. Ingraham, will all be called as witnesses. The potential embarrassment and revelations are going to be pure gold for late night monologues. Trump is also facing more indictments soon. The inevitable waves of bad news for Trump and Fox News will be entertaining for sure.

      1. There is a difference between deliberately lying while knowing the truth and just reporting what is going on. Fox News was not doing that and there is plenty of evidence that Fox News knew Trump’s voter fraud claims were false. Fox News own pundits and even Rupert Murdoch openly admitted that Trump was peddling BS. They were knowingly enabling Trump by consciously and deliberately repeating known lies. Fox has been desperately trying to avoid this trial. Dominion knows it has a strong case and it seems they are going to make Fox News suffer for their BS by exposing their lying and the reasons behind it to the public. It’s going to be veeeeeeeery interesting.

        1. Wow a demented hardcore communist tranny named Svelaz thinkshe knows Rupert Murdoch

        2. evidence that Fox News knew Trump’s voter fraud claims were false.

There are reems of evidence of voter fraud.

          1. Yet none have been presents or proven to be credible. Even Rudy admited on record that he didn’t have any proof. We will find out for sure once the trial gets going.

        3. Now talk about the Russia collusion lies told every night for years over on MSNBC. THAT case should be a lot more expensive.

    1. You have previously been instructed multiple times as to why Turley must not and has not commented on Dominion v. Fox News and yet continue to serve your gullible readers the same jibber-jabber. What surely will always drive you nuts is that Turley will go on with or without Fox News.

      1. Ron A. Hoffman, “You have previously been instructed multiple times as to why Turley must not and has not commented on Dominion v. Fox News and yet continue to serve your gullible readers the same jibber-jabber.”

I have not been “instructed multiple times”. Care to clarify exactly why Turley is refusing to cover the trial? Frankly I’m surprised that Turley has not said a word about it since it revolves around a subject very dear to Turley, free speech.

Turley clearly does not want to alienate his readership by analyzing the Fox News Dominion trial by pointing out that his employer has been flat out lying to them all this time. Turley can be accused of being complicit in that endeavor by remaining silent since he often peddles the same narratives Fox News puts out.

I suspect Turley will be a witness for Fox News since he is always called on for analyzing legal issues for Fox News. That would be the only reasonable explanation for the lack of coverage.

        1. ABA Model Rule 3.6(a) prohibits a lawyer from making an extrajudicial statement that the lawyer knows or reasonably should know will be disseminated by means of public communication and will have a substantial likelihood of materially prejudicing a matter in litigation.

I have suggested to you and others more than once that for Turley, who is both a lawyer and an analyst employed by FOX News as well as one who also has his own social media blog that enjoys a vast readership, that it would not be appropriate nor should it be expected of him to comment on the Dominion lawsuit so long as it was in litigation. That may well continue to be the case even now that the case has been settled. I am confident that for reasonable and open minded people who harbor no animus for Turley that that is entirely acceptable.

  8. I would hope that in the ensuing investigation that former president Obama is interviewed. A few questions that I would ask, if given a chance, would be: “When did you first realize that the Biden influence peddling scheme effectively made your vice president an unregistered foreign agent?” and “Once you knew, what did you do about it and why?” I am not holding my breath on this but Joe Biden had enablers. These should be identified as well. We need some cleansing in the DC political apparatus.

    1. Influence peddling is not illegal. It’s not even a crime according to the Supreme Court. It’s actually considered protected free speech activity.

      1. Influence peddling is not a crime (and I never claimed that influence peddling was) but being an unregistered foreign agent is. It appears that Joe Biden and several members of his family were paid by foreign organizations for the purposes of influencing policy while in office without disclosing this fact. I think that hiding this is a crime – though admittedly I am not a lawyer.

        1. Biden didn’t need to register as a foreign agent. Not when he was Vice President. Paying for access is not illegal nor a requirement to report. It’s free speech. Getting paid by foreign companies is not illegal either. Nothing that has been alleged is a crime or illegal. All it is is allegations implying that crimes have been committed without evidence.

          1. We will have to allow the process to unfold for the determination of any illegal conduct by Joe Biden. Regardless, if it turns out that President Obama knew that his Vice President was receiving money from foreign organizations while in office for political influence with clear conflict of interests and did nothing about it and failed to disclosed it later, I would find that is revealing of President Obama’s personal ethics. That President Biden and his family is minimally ethically (and TBD legally) compromised appears increasingly evident. My line of enquiry concerns the extent of awareness of the Biden family conflicts of interest by those serving with him and particularly his putative supervisor President Obama.

  9. It is easy to know why democrats universally oppose any investigation into Biden family activities they know to be corrupt. Democrats value power over all other things and investigating Biden makes it less likely that their party will maintain control over the most powerful position in the country. They may personally not like the corruption of the Bidens but when it comes time to choose they choose power every time.

  10. Boy the Democrat operatives are out in force today defending the indefensible corruption that is the Biden family. One fool above even claims that having officials stay in a Trump owned hotel is corruption on the level of the VPs son getting $80,000 a month from a Ukrainian gas company as well as multimillion dollar deals from the CCP. Hotels that have been in existence for years providing rooms for officials at normal rates all of a sudden is equivalent to selling your soul to our biggest enemy.

Biden is Warren G Harding and Spiro Agnew rolled into one corrupt moron. Corrupt as a VP like Agnew and corrupt as a president like Harding. If the media, high tech and most importantly the intelligence communities didn’t support this moron he would have been run out of office by now.

Corrupt, stupid and addle brained is no way to go through life. This one man is ruining our country and the leftist partisans will defend him because he is on their team. Way to go.

  11. Registered American lobbyists paid by our enemies to influence Congress are no different than Hunter Biden. One more sleazy thing that needs to be shut down.

  12. Why is it not, unambiguously, a crime for a person to sell to foreign nationals his influence with officials in the United States federal government? Why is Congress not working 24/7 to rectify this?

  13. “I frankly do not understand the willingness of so many Democrats to cover for the Bidens.” -JT

You can’t be serious, Counselor. Knowing what you’ve known for the past two decades or longer, how can you not see that DC, BOTH Parties, is about enriching themselves at taxpayer expense and doing their very best to hide that immoral, if not illegal behavior, from public scrutiny?

  14. “I was about to leave and I told them, fire the prosecutor or you’re not getting your billion(s) of dollars. By God, they fired him!” Idiot bragged about it on a national television news program. Hunter kept his money flowing from Burisma, the prosecutor wanted to come here and testify, was denied a Visa, and Giuliani was to travel there for the interview but the corrupt peddlers threatened and coerced him into submission. (and somehow Trump wound up with campaign finance allegations from two bonehead wanna be’s third removed, always Trump’s fault). So, just wait…this is how money laundering scheme investigations begin. It’s just the tip of the iceberg.

    1. What about all those lower echelon Federal Government employees working hard and once a year going through ethics training? In the training, it is all spelled out how you conduct yourself in a position of authority within the US Government. Now, if all of these hundreds of thousands of employees used their authority to receive monies from foreign sources (maybe the foreign politician or official wanting to allow something to bypass import regulations, and you get the import broker to file a certain way, By God he did it!, we’d have corruption from top to bottom) But this peddling/graft accepting is for the higher and protected Government officials. The 100ks hard working ethic minding employees are restricted and warned. Do as I say…Not as I do. These 100ks employees do work hard to protect and serve you. But their 40 yr (only) politician, become President can accept graft from all over the world. Now that’s what everyone is yelling about…Entitlement! He’s pulling the wool over your eyes in many forms, not just acceptance of all these foreign funds.

  15. Outside of just being another Turley rage post, are to believe Turley has never heard of Jared Kushner, Don Jr, Eric and Ivanka Trump. The DC Trump hotel, where foreign state visitors stayed at over-priced rooms and banquet halls. Where the RNC had paid for countless over-priced meetings. Of course after he left DC the rooms were empty, and then he sold. One has to wonder how much Trump got a piece of the 2 billion Jared got from Saudi Arabia even when the government wanted nothing to do with him.

    1. Everything you mentioned about Trump?
      All perfectly legal.
As Biden (and his media dupes) say: They did nothing wrong. Nothing wrong at all.
      Got it FishCult?

      1. So there’s nothing illegal about Biden either. Turley should know that. He’s trying mighty hard to avoid talking about the trial his employer is involved in.

        1. Not so sure about Biden. US Treasury dept has over 150 SARs flagging Biden family suspicious banking transactions that have been covered up and ignored for years.

Five or 10 SARs (suspicious activity reports) would be a high level concern, but Biden family? Over 150 SARs and suspicious multiples of LLCs and scattered bank accounts? The Biden family grift is a flashing red light warning: Massive Corruption Racket Ahead.

        2. If there’s nothing wrong with the Biden family influence peddling, why does he deny it? Why not just say that there’s nothing wrong with it instead of denying it?

          1. “Why not just say that there’s nothing wrong with (influence peddling).” An excellent point. Indeed, he should say that loudly and proudly, in public, “I, Joe Biden, became wealthy beyond my wildest dreams by peddling my government position and influence to the highest bidders, foreign and domestic!! And there’s nothing you can do about it A-HAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!”

At least he’d be seen as honest for the first time in history.

  16. I’d say that $80,000/month Burisma Board of Director job for little Hunter has REALLY paid off for Ukraine. But no “quid pro quo” for AG Merrick Garland or his obedient little FBI agents. They are solidly on Team Biden. Thank you, Jonathn, for an excellent article.

  17. If Turley had gone to law school he would know what influence peddling requires evidence of a quid pro quo, and no one anywhere had shown evidence that anyone got an improper benefit from hiring Hunter or James Biden. Not that Turley ever cared about evidence.

      1. Access to what? A handshake at a receiving line? In the adult world you need to show something tangible. No one ever has.

        1. Not true. The mafia collects for “protection” too. And the McDonnell case in the Supreme Court did not make influence peddling perfectly legal, as some nut jobs on this blog claim.

          1. If you had really gone to law school, you would not confuse your fantasies of “mafia protection” with tangible evidence.

        2. Access to what? A handshake at a receiving line?

How about ~70 meetings in the White House and Navel Observatory? Thats just 2 locations that log (some) of the comings and goings of named individuals

        3. Biden is funneling billions into corrupt Ukraine, allowed CCP to fly spy ballon over America and pushed Russia into China’s arms while depleting our petroleum supply and America’s energy while paying other countries for their gas and oil. And let’s see…allowing CCP derived fentanyl along with illegals and criminals to flood into America. Basically weakening America and strengthening China.

    1. Are we forgetting about the Ukraine prosecutor investigating one of Hunters companies who Joe had fired by threatening to withhold money to Ukraine.

    2. Tax evasion. That’s a chargeable crime. So where did the money go?

Pedo Joe & The Democrat Clown Show don’t even want to talk about it.

    3. “no one anywhere had shown evidence that anyone got an improper benefit”

      You haven’t been paying attention:

TikTok, spy balloon, access to American universities, sales of farm land, gas leases (around the world), America’s petroleum reserve to China, feckless investigation of Covid origins, . . .

At best, Biden is compromised. At worst, in the pocket of Beijing.

      (Look them up yourself.)

  18. nothing will happen…DC three letter agencies are all 100% corrupt for Democrats
This is why Republicans should cut 50% Of federal spending, end all aid for cities and colleges, and move 75% of DC fed government to the heartland!
