“This is Fascism”: Machete-Wielding Professor Fired Again

Shellyne Rodriguez, the machete-wielding former Hunter College professor, has now been fired by the Cooper Union college. The school previously stood with Rodriguez after she trashed a student display and held a machete to the neck of a journalist. It appears that Rodriguez’s anti-Israel comments were finally too much for Cooper Union.

What is interesting is what it takes at both Hunter College and The Cooper Union to be fired.

We previously discussed a videotape of Rodríguez trashing a pro-life student display in New York. Before attacking the table, she told the students, “You’re not educating s–t […] This is f–king propaganda. What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next? This is bulls–t. This is violent. You’re triggering my students.”

The videotape revealed one other thing. At Hunter College, and at other colleges, it seems that trashing a pro-life student display and abusing pro-life students is not considered a firing offense. Hunter College refused to fire Rodríguez.

The PSC Graduate Center, the labor organization of graduate and professional schools at the City University of New York, supported that decision and said Rodríguez was “justified” in trashing the display, which the organization described as “dangerously false propaganda” and “disinformation.”

Rodríguez later put a machete to the neck of a reporter, threatened to chop him up and then chased a news crew down a street with the machete in hand. Somewhere between the machete to the neck and chasing the reporters down the street, Hunter College finally decided that Rodríguez had to go.

Rodríguez denounced the school for having “capitulated” to “racists, white nationalists, and misogynists.” She explained that her firing was just a continuation of “attacks on women, trans people, black people, Latinx people, migrants, and beyond.”

The Cooper Union, however, refused to sever ties with Rodríguez, 47, and decided that she should continue to teach her students.  According to the New York Post, Rodriguez attributed her firing to her anti-Israeli comments. She declared

“Cooper Union has fired me because of a social media post I made about ‘Zionists’… effective immediately. This is fascism. Ya’ll are learning about it in real time. Stay strong, [stay] brave, stay defiant, don’t bite your tongue, and drink plenty of water! Pa-lante!”

Students cried foul. One group wrote the dean to object that “this firing represents an intense escalation of McCarthyist repression meant to intimidate and punish those in support of a Free Palestine, and must be resisted to prevent its further normalization and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

There is a legitimate question over terminations of faculty for statements made outside of a school on social media. However, there was ample reason not to have a machete-wielding maniac teach students. Cooper Union, however, found the social media more menacing than the machete.

Rodriguez participated in a CUNY for Palestine virtual panel in which she spoke about the possibility of a Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement rent strike in New York involving not making rent payments to Jewish landlords or landlords who support Israel. She is quoted as calling for the targeting of pro-Israeli figures, adding “[y]ou probably wait tables where they go to brunch. Find them, go to their offices, don’t let them sleep.” She also called former Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr. a “roach” and “Zionist lapdog.”

Notably, others on the left have encouraged such harassment of those with opposing views, including Rep. Maxine Waters, D-CA. Others have supported harassing conservative justices at their homes and offices.

What is ironic about the objection to McCarthyism is that Rodriguez is part of the “radical chic” in academia leading the mob and silencing others.

The one benefit of this controversy is that it is finally confirmed what it takes to be fired by The Cooper Union if you are on the left. Trashing pro-life displays or threatening journalists are clearly no barrier for employment with the school.

  1. And now to brighten your day, the Betty Carter classic “Tight” as sung by the great Kurt Elling at the 1987 Montreal Jazz Festival:

  2. Defund the Uniparty

End all Federal Money to colleges, cities, states, and non-profits where anyone gets $100k

Let Democrats fund their OWN failures

    1. The Founders did that in 1789 by adopting Article 1, Section 8.

Congress has the power to tax for ONLY debt, defense, and general Welfare (i.e. basic infrastructure).

Congress has the power to regulate ONLY money, commerce, and land and naval Forces.

What America has is the Communist Manifesto which the Supreme Court must have nullified and voided long ago.

The singular American failure is the judicial branch with emphasis on the Supreme Court.

The only relevant and veritable judge in the past 164 years was Chief Justice Roger B. Taney who struck down, delegitimized, and invalidated “Crazy Abe” Lincoln, the communist tyrant.

  3. Big Government Democrats are FASCISTS

Time to END all federal aid to college….including student loan guarantees. Also any non-profit including colleges and hospitals where anyone gets $100k+…SHOULD PAY all their taxes!

  4. In Other News: “Shellyne Rodriguez reveals herself to be a robot…sparks, sputters, and then self-destructs like 50’s sci-fi film ending.”

  5. I recall this lady, now known as the nutty professor – trying to intimidate pro-life students who were distributing literature on the campus she worked at. She was trying to discourage the students from engaging in their free speech rights, of course, through intimidation. She told the students their message -respect for life – was somehow not welcome on campus. Being pro-life is a perfectly respectable position to take, in my view. The fact that you have students and faculty members trying to limit free speech on campus is linked to the “far left” takeover of our colleges in the US, especially public colleges. We have huge numbers of far left types teaching at colleges now, but almost no conservatives, even though 50% of America now is trending conservative (as reflected by the 50-50 split in Congress). Our colleges and universities should reflect the views of all Americans, not just this fringe group of left wing types who promote socialism, open borders, abortion on demand (paid for by US taxpayers). The colleges and universities need to start hiring conservatives and moderates to teach, not just left wing extremists.

  6. Dear Prof Turley,

Obviously, professors being critical of Israel’s conduct in Gaza, in particular, is not the same thing as ‘machete-wielding’ professors trashing ‘right to life’ stands. Or other errata.

While it may be risky, dangerous, for institutions of higher learning to continence the latter .. . they would have to be heartless, pitiless and foolish to ignore the prior.

    *if not complicit.

  7. You know what’s really sad? Turley, who teaches in an institution of higher learning is using his credentials to prop up the MAGA-ite theme that colleges and college educated people are really stupid. It’s part of the indoctrination process—-it’s how they sell lies to the MAGA base. It’s how they get the gullibles to disbelieve economists when they report that the economy is thriving because of Biden’s policies and get them to believe that we are on the verge of an economic collapse. It’s how they get the gullibles to believe that Trump is the victim of a coordinated effort to deny him his third “victory “ and to keep believing the Big Lie. It’s how they get them to believe all the lies about Trump being successful as POTUS, even though he was a total failure, and to distrust science and villainize people like Dr. Fauci because he wouldn’t go along with Trump’s lies about COVID. The majority of passionate Trump fans are not college educated, and have been brainwashed into calling Trump opponents cutesy names, like “libtards”. They insult anyone who criticizes Trump, and believe all the lies about the criminal charges and civil lawsuits against him being meritless. That someone who purports to teach at an institution of higher learning would sell his credentials to support this indoctrination program is stunning. Today’s post has nothing to do with the value or merits of higher education in America, but the gullibles don’t know any better—and, Turley knows it.

    1. @Gigi
You write this debasing rant and include this accusation? “They insult anyone who criticizes Trump, and believe all the lies about the criminal charges and civil lawsuits against him being meritless.” Are you completely devoid self-insight?

Or, perhaps your rant is an extract from your forthcoming book: “Life as a Stooge”?

      1. Just take a look at the posts on this blog for the depth of discipleship of Trump fans. Their absolute devotion to this deeply flawed narcissistic liar, racist and misogynist is stunning. No facts can shake their devotion. Trump “really won by a landslide in 2020” and they are conditioned to disbelieve any facts to the contrary. Listen to pro-Trump pundits—“we’re on the brink of an economic collapse, on the edge of WW 3, Biden is the head of a crime family, there’s a coordinated plot to bring him down and all of the criminal and civil cases are bogus”—no contrary facts will persuade them otherwise. They’ve been indoctrinated to distrust all our institutions, including higher education, law enforcement and the judiciary.

Yet, it’s true that Trump had his day in court and was found responsible for sexual assault and defamation—twice. He had summary judgment rendered against him for cheating on loan and tax forms because there was no genuine issue of material fact—that’s the summary judgment standard. We all saw the insurrection and heard him tell his fans to “fight like hell”, but according to the disciples, the FBI really started and instigated Jan 6th. They got this fib from pro- Trump media. We heard him lie about some perceived right to take classified documents and lying about declassifying them and lying about returning them. None of these facts matter to the disciples—that’s what’s stunning. There has never before been such a deeply flawed person who ever ran for president or one who has ever been more dangerous to American democracy—yet the disciples will vote for this creature because they’ve been conditioned to only believe pro-Trump media, of which Turley has decided to be a part, including feeding into the anti education trope.

        1. Gigi, no one here is “devoted “to Trump – I did not vote for him in 2020 or 2016 and probably wont in 2024.

But my issues with Trump do not disconnect me from reality.

The collusion delusion was a hoax,
The Hunter Biden laptop was not russian disinformation.
The Biden syndicate is immoral and unethical – and at this point the evidence is actually sufficient to criminally convict in 90% of the country.

          Bidenomics is a failure.

You want to Credibly blame Trump for things – try REAL mistakes.

Trump wasted almost $2T on Covid. That spending accomplished nothing and guaranteed a portion fo the inflation we have been experiencing. But your not going to go after Trump for inflationary spending – because that of Biden and democrats is much worse.

Trump also mishandled Covid. He Trusted Fauxi and Birks far too much and should have trusted those who actualy knew what they were talking about – but had not spent their lives stealing money from the government.
But you can nnot go after Trump because – however Bad Trump was on Covid – Democrats were worse.

You could also go after Trump for the Vaccine – after all it was Trump’s project warp speed that delivered it in completely impossible time.

Trump did prove that if you lit a match under the bureacrcy they could actually get things done.

Regardless the vaccine was a failure. And Again it would be one you could blame on Trump – But for the fact that Democrats doubled down on the vaccine.

It should be a giant red flag to you that as many people died of Covid in the first 11 months when there was no vaccine as died in the 2nd 11 months under Biden when there was (and the 3rd 11 months), and in fact 3 times as many people died of Covid under Biden as Trump.

There are many more things that are REAL that one could be critical of regarding Trump.

But you are NOT going to attack Trump for the REAL mistakes he has made – because those mistakes are the same mistakes YOU make every day.

I am hard pressed to think of a Trump mistake that is not one shared by Biden specifically and democrats generally.

You rant about elections – as if Trump is the first person to challenge an election.

Al Gore challenged the 2000 election – unlikely Trump Gore was able to get real recounts – litterally hand recounting every ballot.

Al Franken lost the senate election to Coleman, but after over a year of court battles Franken “found” an additional 6,000 votes,
and turned a 2500 vote loss into a victory. And those “found” ballots – in atleast one instance were “found” in the back of an election officials car long after the election with no chain of costuody and no provanance.

A theme in the TV series Scandal, was that the Republican president won the election was a result of fraud in some obscure county in Ohio.
That theme parroted the claim of many democrats that voting tabulators in OH cost John Kerry the election against Bush.
That republicans used voting tabulators to rig the 2004 presidential election.
In 2016 Hillary demanded recounts – and when they did not go her way, sought to persuade electors to change their votes – and several did.

John Eastmans plan for Trump’s certification challenge was within a few minor details the same as Prof. Tribe’s plan for Hillary.
Abrahms has Still not admitted to loosing the GA governors race to Kemp.

What occurred in 2020 was unbeleivably close to what occured in 1872 – We did not have mailin voting – but we also did not have secret balloting, voters were given prefilled out ballots that they then dropped into unattended ballot boxes, and they were paid $3 for their vote.
Tildon – the democrat nominally won an incredibly close eleciton – multiple slates of electors were sent from several states.
Congress refused to certify the winner appointed a commission to study the matter, a back rook deal was stuck – Harris was declared the winner by congress and Union troops were removed from the south and the Jim Crow era began.

In every presidential election in my lifetime – the republican candidate was called a Nazi by democrats.
And every single time the republicn won – multiple democrats in the house and senate challenged the election ceritification.

I have personally spent the past 20+ years fighting against the introduction of tabulators and voting terminals to elections – something that Bush/Republicans started and something that nearly all opposition until 2020 has been by democrats.

The FIRST serious republican challenge to a significant election EVER – all the challenges I mentioned before were by democrats, was the 2020 election, which was inarguably the worst conducted election since the 19th century.

Regardless, challenging an election is not a Crime. Challenging it in courts is not a crime. Asking electors to change their votes is not a crime, asking Secretaries of states to find more votes is not a crime. Presenting alternate slates of electors is not a crime. Asking Congress to refuse to certify an election is not a crime.

None of these would be a crime – if the election was perfectly conducted.

Presidents taking classified documents when they leave is not a crime – every president since washington has done so, and the Courts have found that they may. You can not obstruct an illegal investigation.

Disputes over the value of property are NOT A CRIME. I People call me trying to buy my home or rental properties atleast once every day.
I tell them the places are for sale for 4 times what I paid for them. Most of the time they go away. Someday someone is going to agree to pay a ridiculous amount – and I will sell. I sought a line of credit on one property 2 years ago. I told the bank what it was worth. The apraiser told the bank it was worth less. The bank gave me the line of credit. I borrow from it on occasion, and pay it off – there is no fraud.

One of my businesses is commercial due diligence. My job is literally assuring banks that the property they are writing a mortgage on is worth what the bank is about to lend. Banks are legally responsible for the valuation of the properties they mortgage – not borrowers.
That is codified in laws older than I am and the legal maxim that is 2 milenia old – Caveat Emptor – Buyer Beware.
It is ALWAYS the buyers responsibility to determine that the price they are paying – for an office tower, a home, a car, a hamburger is acceptable. Because the ONLY price of anything is what a willing buyer and a willing sellor agree on.

Paying for non-disclosures is not a crime.

The above is just a brief overview of the nonsense of your allegations.

I did not mention the ballot fraud in the NJ primary in 2020 – over 250,000 ballots were thrown out.
Or the recent CT mayoral race finding the same fraud on smaller scale that TTV found in Detroit, Milwaukee, Los Vega, Pheonix, and Atlanta in 2020 – the same fraud was likely in Philadelphia – but they deleted as ballot box security camera video immediately after the election

It is MASSIVE hyprocracy to pretend that the conduct of political oponents is criminal – when it is what you have been doing for decades.

Regardless, you have no credibility, people do not beleive you.

        2. “Trump had his day in court . . .”

          In reality, he did not.

A civil case without a statute of limitations is a violation of due process. That case, and others like it, are *not* the rule of law. They are unconstitutional. They are the rule of an angry (Me-Too) mob.

    2. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…

      1. We all know that Gigi = Dennis McIntyre.
So now you comment support on your own comments?

        1. We all know that Gigi = Dennis McIntyre. So now you comment support on your own comments?

Our resident paid troll, Bob / Gigi / Dennis McIntyre / sealioning Anonymous, et al, is entertaining. I scroll past his comments and pause to read what others have to say in response. It is all reminiscent of the scene from the movie M*A*S*H with the faux suicide by the straight supposedly turned gay dentist, Capt. Walter Kosciuszko Waldowski who goes by the nickname The Painless Pole. Painless takes a sleeping pill, pretending to be committing suicide, bc he cant live as a gay man, and his fellow soldiers line up along his “coffin” to deliver their snarky comments, laugh at him, and otherwise mock his stupidity. From the gleeful black vocalist singing cheerfully the lyrics, to one of the best lines given by soldier Budd Court, you’re throwing your education away, the paid troll convinces no one of their authentic presence on the blog. Yet the troll returns day after day with the same unconvincing act.

          free entertainment at their expense

          1. You’ve proven my point. Yeah, whatever you do, don’t read what I write because it can’t possibly be meritorious—part of the indoctrination.

            1. Oh and another Trump lie when they can’t explain away Trump’s lousy record compared to the successes of Obama and Biden. The “deep state “ prevented him from being successful. And the gullibles really believe this manure because they reject mainstream media and economists.

              1. Gigi, I will bet I can name more Black economists that reject your garbage than you can name actual economists.

I will bet I can name more Nobel prize winning economists that reject your garbage than you can name actual economists.

Next the Media is NOT a source. They are suppose to report ACTUAL sources – or atleast that is what journalism USED to be.

Regardless aside from the spin – you are correct – we do not beleive you. We do not beleive the media, We do not beleive the government.

We is about 75% of the country.
and “we ” do not beleive you – because you have been caught lying so much.

I am hard pressed to decide whether Bush or Obama was the 2nd worst president in the 21st century.
Bush had a better economy, and mostly better policies, but he shares responsibility with democrats for the financial crisis.
Bush started the endless war nonsense – but Obama continued it.
And Obama’s economy was chaotic and weak.

But there is no doubt which president was the best in the 21st century, that is Trump hands down.
Was he better than Reagan or Clinton or many 20th century presidents – probably not, Trump was an average president at a time when every othyer president was a disaster.
Biden is vying hard to displace Buchanon as the worst president ever. Pensylvania will have the misfortunae of producing both of the worst us president every.

            2. Gigi, I read pretty much every word of what you write and I dismember it detail by detail.

You are the person suffereing from delusions and indoctrination.

You indoctrination claim is beyond stupid – we are fed a steady diet of censored garbage by the left – in our media, in social media, in colleges and universities and increasingly by our businesses, and you want to rant about Fox ? or Trump ?

Studies back in the Reagan era when the media was a tiny fraction as biased as today found that there would be a 11pt political swing away from the left if the mdia reported straight news.

Regardless the MSM is dying – and Fox will likely join them. The slowly rising force in the media today is independent journalists.
These are mostly old school liberal journalists – Barry Weis, Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibi, MAthew Schellenberger and many many others would are doing what they used to do – real investigative journalism answerable to no one.

            1. Here’s another myth: Trump is a “strong man “. Nothing can be further from the truth. A strong man can handle rejection—something Trump’s fragile ego cannot handle—hence the tariffs against China when they couldn’t be bullied and he was incapable of compromising. If you’re familiar with the E.Jean Carroll case you are aware of how the sexual assault happened —she, teasingly suggested that he try on women’s lingerie—and, because the world revolves around his ego, coupled with his lack of any sense of humor and deep down emotional insecurity, he took this as an affront to his manliness and had to teach her who was in control—so, he sexually assaulted her. The ego explains the Big Lie, too—he’s not going to lose to Joe Biden. What’s amazing to me is the blindness of his fans to this obvious reality.

              1. Gig, the TDS is strong in you.

Absolutely Trump goes out of his way to project an image as a strong man. There are memes of this gallor.

No one beleives that the actual Trump has a 6 pack – or frankly EVER has. It is all metaphor.

Trump is stronger than his enemies, the people who attack him ultimately lose, leaving themselves looking bad.

But Trump does not defeat them in a boxing ring, or go all rambo on them.

As Salena Zito got correct in 2016.

Trumps supporters take him seriously but not litterally, his detractors take him litterally, but not seriously.

As to Carrol – outside of DC and NYC few beleive her.

Why is it that you beleive someone who can not recall the year or part of the store this allegedly took place in, but recalls these idiotic details.

And in exactly what world do you beleive that a woman talks to a man she saw once in a receiving line about wearing women’s lingerie ?

You beleive that Trump and Carrol who there is no evidence had any relationshop of anykind beyond a single photo in a receiving line where it is still not clear they were aware of each other, That Trump encounters Carrol on the street or just inside of
Bergdorfs, the two agree to go to the dressing room together. Carrol suggests that Trump put on women’s lingerie – a converstation that most married couples never have, much less strangers in a dressing room, and this in TDS world causes Trump to lose control ?

I would further note that you can not beleive both Stormy Daniels and Carrol,
Danials claims that Trump was into light BDSM – that he wanted to be spanked by a women.

People tend to be fixed in their fetishes, and Daniels is actually more credible – it is quite common for successful men to seek out sexual domination.

      2. Trust in government is down to 16% – the lowest ever – almost 100% down from Trump.

On just about every issue not only do the people think that this administration is headed the wrong way – but super majorities think we are headed the wrong way. Nor do they think we are alittle the wrong way – but ALOT the wrong way.

This administration is an abject failure in the view of ALL but a tiny portion of those on the far left.

People overwhelmingly think things are going to h311 compared to Trump, to Obama, to Bush, to pretty much any time in our lifetime.

It is beyond any dispute at all that people think things are going to h311 and those of you on the left are responsible.

Your only hope of staying in power is in persuading people that the likely alternate choice is worse.
You have lost any credibility trying to claim that Biden and progressivism are not total failuress.

Increasingly a majority prefer Trump to Biden.
You can rant about Trump all you want – but Trump is not in contention because of the maybe 20% of the electorate that is MAGA.
But because the majority of independents and even some democrats recognize that Democrats today are WORSE than even your deluded rantings about Trump.

80+% of the country is not suffering from MAGA/FOX indoctrination.

        They have Rejected YOU

        1. John Say,
          “They have Rejected YOU”
          Right on!
As we have seen, more and more minorities like the Black, Hispanic and Asian communities are leaving the Democrat party. They are rejecting the Democrat party. That is why Biden and the DNC needs all those illegal immigrants and to give them voting rights to support the Democrat party.
They might get votes, but they will not get donations.

      3. Defense Experts: Did Biden give Iranian proxies too much time to prepare for retaliatory strikes?
“The Biden administration began its first round of retaliatory strikes against targets in Iraq and Syria last Friday – nearly a week later – which some critics feel was delayed to give Iran and its proxies time to prepare as part of a larger effort to minimize heightened conflict in the Middle East.”
        https://justthenews.com/government/security/defense-experts-did-biden-give-iranian-proxies-too-much-time-prepare

    3. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…

    4. ” MAGA-ite theme that colleges and college educated people are really stupid.”
This professor does not know what employment at will is.
does not know what fascism is.
Does not know what assault is.

      Sounds like stupid to me.

“It’s part of the indoctrination process”
      ROFL
      Confession through projection.

NO ONE is forced to listen to those on the right.
Conservatism is not preached in our churches, our schools, our homes, our colleges and out places of work.

The only people subject to “indoctrination” are those NOT on the far left.

We have to deal with schools that spray garbage at odds with values that actually work
With colleges that are even worse.
With employers that conduct DEI indoctrination sessions.
With media that is openly hostile to our values, and sprays nonsense
With social media that will censor us – often at the governments demand.
      We are barred from restaurants.

And people like you are ACTIVELY seeking to foreclose the very few circumstances where anyone not on the far left cand safely speak their values or listen to others who share those values/

” It’s how they get the gullibles to disbelieve economists when they report that the economy is thriving because of Biden’s policies and get them to believe that we are on the verge of an economic collapse.”
The economy is neither thriving nor on the verge of economic collpase.

Few people in their own lives are experiencing a thriving economy. Yes, people “disbeleive” claims that the economy is thriving when what they experience in their daily lives is not.

Individual personal experience does not ALWAYS correlate to the economy as a whole. The economy CAN thrive with some people doing poorly.
But it can NOT thrive with most people doing poorly.

Government data is not the forecasts or assessment of “economists” – it is just statistics.
It would be nice if we can trust those stastics – and for decades we could – there were often mistakes – but they were innoicent error.
Under the Biden administration we have seen frequent error in economic data that all goes one way.
It appears that the data is being manipulated.

This is a problem with govenrment – We saw this with the Rush to War in Iraq – government information and assessments being maniplulated.
We saw this with Covid. Frankly we see it with govenrment alot.

You shoul dnot be surprised that people do not trust govenrment when the data is not trustworkkthy and personal experience is at odds witht he data.

Regardless, if the government data and forecasts are correct – Biden will have a booming economy in November and will easily be re-elected.
If the govenrment data as many suspect is wrong he will loose in a landslide.

As Lincoln said – you can not fool all of the people all of the time”

Eitehr those saying the economy is thriving are wrong or those saying it is not are wrong. Both are not correct.

      Time will tell for certain.

“It’s how they get the gullibles to believe that Trump is the victim of a coordinated effort to deny him his third “victory “ ”

      People beleive their eyes.

” It’s how they get them to believe all the lies about Trump being successful as POTUS, even though he was a total failure, and to distrust science and villainize people like Dr. Fauci because he wouldn’t go along with Trump’s lies about COVID.”

It is remarks like these that lead me to conclude that you are not only unintelligent but naive and deluded.
That you beleive what you say.

Many many many people out there do not like Trump. But they will pick another 4 years of Trump over 4 years of Biden – because Trump remains the best president of the 21st century.

Few distruct science – but increasingly we distrust lying public servants claoked as faux scientists.

The REAL truth about Covid much of which those like Fauxi knew at the time are coming out.

The virus came from the WIV, its development was funded by the US, Fauxi was aware of this and lied.
      Masks do not work
      Lockdowns do not work
      Social distancing does not work
      Hand washing does not work.
      Vaccines do not work.

All the above is specific to Covid – but because people like Fauxi have lied – not merely been wrong but knowingly lied to all of us, causing great harm, we are disinclinded to beleive public health experts and scientists in areas other than Covid.

Some of that disbelief is GOOD – Science has in far too many domains become religion.
But in others it is not good. There are circumstances where masks work, antiseptics work, many but not all vaccines work.

I personally think that the mRNA vaccine is a massive truimph of science – despite the fact that it is a failure regarding covid.

Regardless, whether you are a politician a scientists or a poster on turley.org – trust is earned, it is not an entitlement.

“The majority of passionate Trump fans are not college educated”
And increasingly we are finding that a college education is actually net harmful.

“calling Trump opponents cutesy names, like “libtards”.”
Every GOP presidential candidate in my lifetime has been called a Nazi.
Right now You, the Left, the Media and the President are calling political enemies anti-democratic, facists, Nazi’s.

While it is YOU that are blatantly anti-democraticm, and blatantly fascist.

Fascism as defined by Benito Musolini
      Everything in the government
      nothing outside the government
      nothing against the government

That is YOU – not Trump.

Who is it that is looking to remove political opponents from the ballot ? Can anything be less democratic ?
” They insult anyone who criticizes Trump”

No they insult people who push vile, hateful, racist, destructive agenda’s.
Criticise Trump all you want – no one cares, no one beleives you.

“believe all the lies about the criminal charges and civil lawsuits against him being meritless.”
      Because they are.
And because ordinary people know that what you can do to Trump you can do to anyone.

Should I be able to allege that you assualted me 430 years ago – even though I can not provide any verifyiable details of this assault,
and what information I can provide is vauge and unverifiable, and then sue you and win almost $100M dollars becaus eyou claim to be innocent ?

Most people understand that is very dangerous.

Should the state be able to confiscate someone’s property, their liveliyhood, because they disgree over the valuations where no one was harmed and where the ONLY va;lid price for anything ever is what a willing buyer and a willing sellor agree to ?

Should we allow prosecutors to be elected promising to target specific people and then have them direct the resources of govenrment to targetting that person when elected ?

What you are the left are doing is morally wrong.
It is also unconstitutional, and illegal.

      1. Ask the REPUBLICANS on the Senate Judiciary Committee who investigated and found that Russia DID help Trump cheat.

        1. After months of investigation, with unlimited resources, Mueller found there was evidence of collision between Trump and Putin. It is dishonest to suggest otherwise.

        2. Facts are facts. The Senate report is quite weak and has subsequently been discredited by FACTS.

NOR BTW is that what the senate found.
The Senate found that Russia Wanted to help Trump. Not that it did or that there was any collusion.
It found that based on FALSE information provided by the CIA and IC.

Subsequently we have learned that the information p0rovided to the Senate was fraudulent – that the IC KNEW that Putin wanted Clinton not Trump, and that the CIA KNEW that Clinton was preparing to fraudulently try to connect Trump to the Russians.

    5. AWFL. The worst people on earth, followed by antifa and the blm. I know freedom and personal responsibility are scary things for democrats given who democrats hang-out with, but stop being a bad person and embrace America you bigot.

    6. Natasha,
Did you actually read the jobs report?
      Or just read the headline?
Had you read the jobs report, you would know it was ridiculous. You would know while Wall St. is doing well, Main St. is not.
And that is why the economy is the top issue for Americans. Bidenflation is hurting everyday, average Americans. We see it at the gas pump, at the grocery check out, in our utility bills.

      1. The stock market is a leading economic indicator. It is NOT the only economic indicator.
        It is an imperfect inndicator.
One major problem with the stock market is that it responds STRONGLY to inflation.
First inflation directly effects the value of stocks, but even more – the Stock market grows even more during inflationary times – because stock is an asset and assets are hedges against inflation.

When there is 0% inflation – the stock market predicts the economy.
When there is 3/4% inflation – the stock market responds to inflation.

      1. John Say,
        Of course they do not!
They are zealots. Cultists of the DNC. The house could be burning down all around them and they will insist that, “Everything is fine!”
A single mother of two, working two part time jobs, struggling to make ends meet, pay rent, food, utilities, who would dare to complain that she and her family have it worse off since Biden came into office, they would call her a liar and spit on her.
That is the kind of people useful idiots like Dennis and Natasha are.
Until they are no longer useful. Then their leftist betters will put them up against the wall.
And us normal people will watch and say, “Saw that coming.”

    7. I do believe that you are too far gone down the indoctrination hole to be saved at this time – your brainwashing has been a total success for the prog/left (they can chock up another potential thinking person turned into a sheeple bot) but your rant has no effect on conservatives (who are college educated, such as myself and many, many more) which is a damn sight better than the hordes of the uneducated, unwashed parasites that inhabit the prog/left and only vote D for the “free” stuff – in previous times that was called “buying votes”.

      1. Most of those who are deluded on the left are too far gone to become rational.
But that does NOT mean they will remain the same.

When peoples views are so disconnected from reality they can not be persuaded by reason, when the cognative disonance finally overwhelms them – instead of a return to rationality, they typically undergo a directly opposite religious conversion. A saul on the road to damascus type of thing.

When your self is entirely driven by beleif, not rationality, you substitute one beleif for another when your fails.

  8. Dreams of her wand-a… Rwanda, Hamas, once Fatah, mimics, and diverse “burdens”. Spring is in the air. Abort.

  9. Turley: ” there was ample reason not to have a machete-wielding maniac teach students”
    ++++

Funny that it is even necessary to say that.

But it is necessary in this educational environment.

  10. America has allowed our government associated entities to become a breeding ground for the emotionally challenged and despotic activists. A large number of these people living off the tax dollar have no clue as to the economics of their cash cow. These people are typically those that can’t make it in the private sector. They are typically the bottom of the intellectual barrel or so politically driven that they are blind to our current reality. The people that prescribe to this WOKE ideology are emotionally and/or mentally unstable. Time for a true up of our system, beginning with removing the current dementia patient inhabiting our Whitehouse.

    1. A generation or two ago, people like this would not have made it out of childhood. They are the ones all the nanny state rules and laws are written for.

  11. Cooper Union is doubly wrong: firstly, for keeping her on after her violent conduct; and secondly for firing her over speech they didn’t like.

    1. So basically their errors cancelled each other out and they got the right result, albeit a little late.

    2. Loosely I agree, but there is a difference between the speech that Government can censor and the speech that private institutions must tolerate.

Those on the left have correctly stated that Twitter can have whatever terms of service it wishes and censor whatever speech it wishes.
This issues with Social media are:

They made promises to lure people into signing up that now that they dominate they are renigging on.
Had various social media compaines claimed from the start that they would be safe spaces for fragile left wing nuts rather than champions of free speech no one would be complaining.

They were given protections by government for the purpose of fostering all legal free speech.
Basically because they did NOT excercise editorial control over content – beyond censoring illegal speech, they were protected from editiorial liability.
But they are excercising editorial control therefore they are NOT entitled to protection for editorial decisions.

Finally, we have learned that they have engaged in censorship at the direction of government – which is unconstitutional.

We have similar complexities with colleges:
Most promise free speech to students and faculty – they are then obligated to deliver or rescind their promise.
They accept government money which binds them to the first amendment.

At the same time Colleges unlike social media do no09t exist specifically as forums for speech.
      They are forums for learning.
When a professors actions are at odds with the purpose of the college, they must be removed.
That it is speech that puts them at odds with that purpose does not alter that.

  12. To me the most frightening aspect of this story is the irrational support given this professor despite the gravity of her actions. The fact that she is supported by people who attest to her legitimacy simply because they share some dubious political or social opinions is a horrific testimony to the dysfunction brewing in our society. Perhaps more important is the fact that the viciousness of her behavior and her expressions is considered justified. That an institution of higher learning would tolerate such an individual and take so long to move against her behavior lends credence to claims that our universities are indeed complicit in the intentional creation of radical, perhaps dangerous, social lunatics.

  13. Try the machete thing in my part of the World…..problem would get solved permanently.

I suppose in Democrat Utopian Cities such as New York…such behavior is considered normal and acceptable.

What is interesting is that places of higher education seem to ramp up the craziness of their Professors and other staff rather than instilling a sense of decorum and scholastic excellence.

At some point there has to be a National Reckoning on this kind of behavior and the agenda that is causing it.

There is a Revolution coming…..prove me wrong…..I shall wait.

    1. Ralph,
Yeah, around my part of the woods, we would take care of that machete thing as well.
No need to prove you wrong. I hope not, but I am preparing for it.

  14. I recall many years ago that students could expect the finest education from the best of educators. Their futures were almost guaranteed, they could be counted on bringing to society some of the greatest innovations to mankind. Fast forward today educators teach students that math is white supremacy and they are oppressed. They can only hope that government will forgive their loans and find employment with degrees in mediocrity.

    1. “Fast forward today educators teach students that math is white supremacy and they are oppressed.”

Sure, there is no doubt this happens. However, do not imply that education is so bad. It is not. There are outliers that should be called out but by far, education today is outstanding by dedicated teachers.

      1. “but by far, education today is outstanding by dedicated teachers.”

Your either a teacher or Randi Weingarten?
I’ll leave the veracity of your remarks up to parents.

        1. Stop reading BS, get out in the real world and talk to people. By far, the majority of people are hard working. Teachers love kids and want them to get a good education. It is a tiny minority that causes problems. as

      2. Bob they are Dedicated to FASCISM!
The majority of Educators care more about retiring at 50 than how kids do!

        1. Stop it, just stop with the BS. If you believe that, you need help. Please seek help, they are not out to get you, they will not come after you next, they are not out to brainwash the kids, just stop with the BS.

      3. By every objective measure we are doing far worse at educating kids than 20 or 40 years ago.
And we are spending far more doing so.

This professor may be an outlier – but the Norm is NOT outstanding and dedicated teachers.

Teachers have demanded and gotten better pay, better conditions better fascilities.
The cost of eduction has quadrupled after inflation over 40 years.
While the quality has declined steadily.

The problem is not with the schools or the wages or the working conditions – those have all improved.
        The results have NOT.

        The Problem is the teachers.

I know many dedicated and outstanding teachers. I am fortunate enough to be in one of the many places where the decline in schools have been minimal. Which only shows that it is not necescary or inevitable.

But the Buck stops with parents – and that is what we are starting to see change.

Parents are responsible for the values they instill or do not instill at home.
Those values are determinative in the future success of their children.
Parents are ultimately responsible for what their kids are taught in school.

Slowly over 40 years most parents have abdicated those responsibilities.
Whether beguiled by the claims of the left that our schools would take on the task or lust lack of concern
Parents are the ultimate power and responsibility in their kids lives.

We are starting to seem – outside the left, parents stopping up slowly to take back that power and responsibility for their kids rearing.

  15. I always believed that America was destined for another civil war. The first was never settled. But, I never, in my wildest dreams, thought the war would be fought against anti-Semites, transgenders, gays, and other social misfits of our times.

    1. Democrats are fighting a Civil War….their 2nd.
No one is fighting against them

    2. Phil,
As I have often said on the good professor’s blog, a civil war must be avoided at all costs. A break down of our logistical chain would cause millions of deaths, more so than a shot taken in anger. Food, much needed medicines, would all cease in a war like that. And if the grid were to go down, even more so.
And, I have gay friends and family who more align with conservative thinking then they do of the left. They think the whole trans thing is destructive and harmful to children. The group, Gays Against Groomers, is a fine example of a group of people with common sense. I would gladly fight along side of them against those who would groom children.

  16. The editorial said “Rodríguez later put a machete to the neck of a reporter, threatened to chop him up and then chased a news crew down a street with the machete in hand. “. Question. Why was she not arrested and prosecuted for assault ? or shot by police, an armed citizen or campus security ?

  17. I would like to say, “God help us all,” in response to the mess we’re in, but instead, I’ll quote Joe Biden and say, “God save the Queen.” Thanks for revealing just what it takes to get bounced if you’re on the left, with the left, and for the left. Finally.

  18. Asking employees of universities to police their own is akin to having the inmates run the asylum. None of this will end until the entire media/education industry has been totally fumigated and the trash taken out.

    1. If you have to Pay for it – it’s the Israel Hebrews fault
If you can’t trash it – it’s the Establishments fault
If you can’t get what you want – it’s Something’s fault
if you don’t get your way – it’s Somebody’s fault
If you don’t take it now – it’s Their fault
If you want to have it – it’s Their fault
If you ‘If You’, then – it’s a fault

      1. I thought that the prog/left had established the fact that it is ALL Trump’s fault.
