“Prove me Wrong”: Charlie Kirk’s Final Challenge on Free Speech

Yesterday, the United States entered a new and chilling stage of what I have called the “age of rage.” After two attempted assassinations of President Donald Trump, leading conservative leader Charlie Kirk, father of two, was gunned down at a campus event at Utah Valley University. I learned the news while I was in Prague to speak on my book,The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage” and the growing attacks on free speech around the world. I never imagined that I would be speaking about Charlie’s murder and what it represents for free speech.

I cannot claim to have been a close friend of Charlie Kirk, but I knew him and respected him. In his relatively short life, Charlie energized a generation of conservative college students at a time of intense liberal orthodoxy and intolerance.

Kirk came up with the brilliant idea of challenging liberals to simply debate issues from abortion to immigration.  His group would go to campuses and invite debate with signs reading “prove me wrong” and encourage liberals to engage in dialogue rather than violence.

The left had particular reason to hate Kirk.  Campuses have long been the bastions of the left, reinforced by faculties which now have few, if any, conservatives or Republicans. Higher education has long been an incubator for intolerance; shaping a generation of speech phobics who shout down or attack those with opposing views.

Kirk struck at the heart of that power base. Polls show that most students do not feel comfortable speaking about their values in our universities and many conservatives hide their views to avoid retaliation from faculty and students.

Kirk was changing that but showing students that they could be open and bold about their views. He told them that they did not have to yield to orthodoxy and the groupthink. Now he’s dead.

What is most chilling about the murder of Charlie Kirk is that it was not in the least surprising. Not anymore.

The response to TPUSA was all too often rage and violence. Liberals and anti-free speech groups like Antifa would trash their tables and threaten the students. Recently, at UC Davis, police simply watched as a TPUSA tent was torn apart and the tent carried off.

Violent speech has long been acceptable on campuses so long as it targets conservatives. Teachers have called for others to “take out” Trump supporters and for the Secret Service to assassinate him.

University of Wisconsin Professor José Felipe Alvergue, head of the English Department, turned over the table of College Republicans supporting a conservative for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He reportedly declared, “The time for this is over!”

At universities, professors have called for “detonating white people,” denouncing policecalling for Republicans to suffer,  strangling police officerscelebrating the death of conservativescalling for the killing of Trump supporters, supporting the murder of conservative protesters, and supporting the  attempted assassination of President Trump. One professor who declared that there is “nothing wrong” with such acts of violence as killing conservatives was actually promoted.

At Hunter College in New York, Professor Shellyne Rodríguez trashed a pro-life display of students, telling the students that “This is bulls–t. This is violent. You’re triggering my students.”

When the students tried to engage the professor and apologized for upsetting her, Rodríguez yelled, “No you’re not — because you can’t even have a f–king baby. So you don’t even know what that is. Get this s–t the f–k out of here.” In an Instagram post, she is then shown trashing the table.

Hunter College, however, did not consider this unhinged attack on students to be sufficient to terminate Rodríguez. It only fired her after she later chased reporters with a machete. She was then hired by another college. She was shown in a later rally exciting the group with references to “slitting the master’s throat.”

At the University of California Santa Barbara, they did not even bother to fire a professor who pleaded guilty to assaulting pro-life students on campus.  Professors actually rallied around feminist studies associate professor Mireille Miller-Young. She was later honored as a model for women advocates at the University of Oregon.

In my book, I detail prior “ages of rage,” including periods of political violence by anarchists, socialists, and other groups. I previously warned that we were not only following this same trajectory, but it was accelerating. The reason is the curious nature of rage:

“What few today want to admit is that they like it. They like the freedom that it affords, the ability to hate and harass without a sense of responsibility. It is evident all around us as people engage in language and conduct that they repudiate in others. We have become a nation of rage addicts; flailing against anyone or anything that stands in opposition to our own truths.

Like all addictions, there is not only a dependency on rage but an intolerance for opposing views. The difference between rage and reason is often one’s own views. If one agrees with the underlying grievance, rage is viewed as passion or justified fury at injustice. If one disagrees with those views, it takes on a more threatening and unhinged quality. We seem to spend much of our time today raging at each other. Despite the amplification of views on both sides, there is also an increasing intolerance for opposing views. Those views are treated as simply harmful and offensive—and, therefore, intolerable. Indeed, to voice free speech principles in a time of rage is to invite the rage of the mob.”

That addiction to rage has now claimed another victim who had the audacity to speak boldly and openly about his conservative views. What will follow will be the usual perfunctory expressions of sympathy and denouncing of violence by the very politicians who have fueled the rage.

In recent months, some of us have warned Democratic politicians about their violent rhetoric. House Minority Leader Hakeem  Jeffries (D., N.Y.) has called for people to take to the streets to save democracy and posted a picture brandishing a baseball bat.

Former Democratic National Committee deputy chair Keith Ellison, now the Minnesota attorney general, once said Antifa would “strike fear in the heart” of Trump. Liberal sites sell Antifa items to celebrate the violent group.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared, “I’m going to punch these sons of bitches in the mouth.” It follows other violent rhetoric from Democratic leaders.

One House member explained to Axios, “Some of [our supporters] have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot.” Yet another admitted that constituents have told them to prepare for “violence … to fight to protect our democracy.” Others reported that liberals are talking about the need “to storm the White House and stuff like that.”

In one encounter, a lawmaker recounted that “I actually said in a meeting, ‘When they light a fire, my thought is to grab an extinguisher’. And someone at the table said, ‘Have you tried gasoline?’”

Some have. Protesters are burning cars, dealerships, and even lawyers and reporters on the left are throwing Molotov cocktails at police. We have also seen a massive increase in attacks on ICE officers, who are now covering their faces to avoid doxxing or retaliation against themselves or their families. The left has rolled out guillotines and chanted “We got the guillotine, you better run.”

Just before he was shot at Utah Valley University, Kirk rallied the group with its signature chant of “prove me wrong.” The response was to kill Charlie Kirk.

His death could succeed in forcing the thousands of conservative and libertarian students back into the shadows of our campuses and classrooms. We cannot allow that to happen. Charlie Kirk challenged not just the left to debate but the right to be heard in higher education.

Yes, this is an age of rage. However, amidst the rage and the violence, there are a special few who have defied the threats and the attacks. The writer George Bernard Shaw once said that unreasonable people expect the world to conform to them. He then added that that was why all history is made by unreasonable people.

Kirk was one of those wonderfully unreasonable people who refused to yield; refused to be silenced. Despite unrelenting attacks by the media and the establishment, he remained undeterred and unbowed. Students need to remember not how Kirk died, but why he died. His loss is Charlie’s final challenge to all those today wringing their hands and muttering the usual expressions of shocked regret. Kirk would likely say, “prove it.” Speak. Defy those who spend their time silencing others rather than speaking themselves. If you want to honor Charlie Kirk, speak out, speak boldly on both the right and the left. Prove them wrong.

  1. This happened 2 days after the Epstein birthday book was revealed with Trump’s contribution that he has lied about and continues to claim is fake.
Now this is has taken over the news cycle.

Seems oddly coincidental and a little too convenient.

    1. You are a despicable individual that never has anything nice to say. You comment negatively on everything because you must be a very unhappy person with nothing to do all day but write nasty comments. Get a life!!

        1. OMG!!!! OMG!!!!! Not everyone agreed with Charlie Kirks ideas!

Which helps you justify your hatred of Kirk and your glee on hearing he was murdered.

    2. Anonymous, so some Maga person killed Charlie Kirk in order to deflect attention from Epstein birthday book. Unlike you the rest of us can hold more than one thought at a time. The sociopath is a sociopath because he or she in your case holds no remorse. For God’s sake, the man had a wife and two young children left behind and you tell us it’s somehow a distraction from the Epstein story. You are under the delusion that you are a kind and caring person when in fact you possess a heart of granite. I’m sure you’re not the only leftist socialist who is celebrating this sad day.

      1. TIT
Just goes to show how twisted and obtuse the level of convoluted thought these people have. Provided her daily, sickening testimony to what America has become.

    3. This happened 2 days after the Epstein birthday book was revealed with Trump’s contribution that he has lied about…

No mention of Bill Clinton’s birthday letter, also 2 days ago? You missed that part!!!

Bill Clinton’s Birthday Letter Praising Jeffrey Epstein Released
      https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/bill-clintons-birthday-letter-to-jeffrey-epstein-praising-his-childlike-curiosity-revealed-by-house-oversight-committee/

      So:
      1. Trump lied about it because I am posting that he lied about it – just like he lied that he didn’t commit treason when he worked with Putin to steal the 2016 election.

      2. BBBBUUUUTTTTT….. MUH TRUMMMPPPPPP!!!!!

  2. I am a recovering academic; well, actually I retired. I am, however, offering to come to any college campus to speak about several different topics. One of those topics is about how the current electrical distribution system works, and why one built on wind/solar cannot work; and why it is too expensive to employ what would be required to make it work. It’s a physical or economic impossibility. Despite my offers, even doing such for free, no college has invited me to visit.

However, Turning Point USA at one university organized a venue where I could speak about this important topic and it was very well attended. No one else, just Turning Point USA. There were faculty members in the audience I learned later, texting their colleagues about the talk. They couldn’t believe that such heresy was being allowed.

In another instance, we have a Governor in our state who is a fence-sitter and hides away from debating his constituents on contentious topics. Turning Point USA, once again, invited him to a meeting. He accepted and I crashed the meeting and managed to corner him and ask him a few questions.

Turning Point USA is a great student organization. It is broadening the debate. Not just about faith, but also about topics of general imporatnce. I’m appalled at this murder of Mr. Kirk. Appall is too weak a word actually, but I hope his murder it has the unintended effect of powering students to open the decaying universities and colleges to inquiry.

    1. Excellent. In the statement, you explained why Kirk was assassinated.

” No one else, just Turning Point USA”

could get diverse ideas onto campuses. The left, totalitarian and fascist, uses force to only permit their ideas to be heard.

  3. For a Constitutional Law Professor you are woefully ignorant! Only the States as the Union assembled in a congress may make Federal Laws, and only the States have agreed to comply with the laws that the States make as the Union. This should put the amendments of the Constitution into their proper context, especially the first amendment which Starts, “Congress shall make no Law”, before it list the different categories of laws that the States as the Union are prohibited from making, which puts constraints on the unchecked power of the States as the Union, it does not establish individual rights, as the States cannot make laws outside their union, just like an HOA cannot make rules for outside their own HOA.

This limits the States as the Union to making “laws of action” to determine All Acts and Things the United States may of Right do as a Free and Independent State, and to how the States interact with each other to form, maintain, and manage the Union. This limits “Free Speech” to that speech that is against the States as the Union assembled in congress, how congress is assembled, how congress functions, and the roles and responsibilities of All Civil Officers that serve to operate our Government, up to and including the President of the United States, and the President is limited to pardons for offenses against the united States, in congress assembled, not for crimes outside the jurisdiction of the Federal Government which only includes how the Federal Government Functions to make the decisions of a Free and Independent State, not common or natural laws to govern the people.

The People are not governed, the collective decision-making of the people and the States is what is governed, and the governor is the legislative process, democracy through consensus choice, to determine a majority consensus of All the People with the concurrence of All the States.

Now tell me you have not heard these arguments before!

    1. Turley is not here to teach but to spill propaganda for the Trump cult that wants to hear only what they want to hear.

      1. real citizens: Turley is not here to teach but to spill propaganda for the Trump cult that wants to hear only what they want to hear.

Soviet Democrat citizens: BBBBUUUUTTTTT…. MUH TRUMMMPPPP!!!!!!

The mentality of those who were terrified of Charlie Kirk showing up to debate, and gleefully celebrating his death on social media and the internet before he’s been dead 24 hours.

    2. You confuse our republic with a confederation of states. The People formed the Union. The States retain only what the people did not divest the states of. Otherwise, you do understand the difference between federal and state jurisdiction. But it is a Union “more perfect” than the prior Confederation.

      1. You don’t know what a republic is! The United States is a democracy assembled as a Republican Form of Government, a confederation of republics!

        1. It is a Republic, but only if you can keep it. Democracy (voting) it the engine that makes it a Republic of 50 states.
          God, you’re stoopid nfp…

          1. Democracy is not the act of voting! Democracy is equal participation in a legislative process to consider maters of a common interest with equal suffrage to determine those matters under consideration.

There are only two purposes for voting, either as a legislative assembly or to form a legislative assembly. When the people form the legislative assembly directly, that constitutes a democracy, when the people form an exact representation of ALL THE PEOPLE assembled as the Most Numerous Legislative Branch, that constitutes a Republican Form of Government.

There are three republican forms of government, a simple republic, one district assembled in a unicameral legislature, a compound republic, several districts assembled in a bicameral legislature, and a democracy assembled as a Republican Form of Government, a confederation of republics assembled in a unicameral legislature!

    3. I may agree with you but your writing requires clarity and proofing? I wholeheartedly disagree with your opening sentence, woefully.

      1. Woefully means “very badly” or or “deplorably”. Maybe you should look further than the first definition.

  4. As bat s%*t crazy and violent as the American Left has become, this was probably not on them.

The hit was too professional, including decoy suspects with air rifles to get arrested. This was the work of professionals.

      1. The Weekly World News is not a credible source

Meanwhile: has CNN returned in shame the two Pulitizer Prizes they won for investigative journalism, where they exposed how the Obama/Clinton “Trump-Russia Dossier” proved Trump conspired with Putin to steal the 2016 election?

Just asking for the few actually rational surviving Democrats who might be hiding and reading on this forum.

      1. A professional would of made a head shot, not the neck.

Exactly. Or more likely, a center of mass shot, aimed right in the x ring, where a miss for whatever reason of four or five inches in any direction would still be unsurvivable with expanding hunting ammunition of any caliber. Kirk could have been wearing personal body armour under his shirt, but while that will stop most handgun calibers, a professional would know that would not stop a high powered rifle round. For that, you have to be wearing plates which would be obvious to anyone seeing him.

If a professional had decided for some odd reason to attempt murder via a neck shot, at that range it would have been center of neck and ensuring it severed the spinal column.

Occam’s Razor says the most likely answer is the murderer hoped news cameras would catch the graphic details of his bullet hitting Kirk in the head with a mist and spray of blood and brains for the world to see glorifying his deed. But he completely missed Kirk’s head and hit him off-center in the neck.

I am not going to go looking for a source to watch the graphic footage of Kirk’s murder to try and attempt to determine angle, etc. Trump survived the attempt to murder him by luck and the act of turning his body and head,

Kirk was not fortunate enough to be given the same kind of break.

  5. The media will label Kirk as a purveyor of dangerous hate speech and that he needed to be canceled in what ever way possible. The Left will view this as an unfortunate but justifiable killing.

    1. A purveyor they already have. The media in BG, France and Germany have made already published their opinions of Kirk… good riddance they wrote.

  6. One shot closer to Civil War. Our Democrat Communist elected officials, academia and the leftist msm continue to call for violence. Do they want a Civil War of Snipers? Serious question. Read the History of the IRA and Michael Collins. EVERYONE is exposed out in public.

    1. I think the last thing the Soviet Democrats or their street thug followers want is a Civil War (other than their most unhinged and demented denizens of the Democrat Borg).

They know it isn’t them and their followers who enthusiastically exercise their Second Amendment rights, and they know it isn’t Democrat communists and socialists, The Alphabet Sex Pride Tribe, Trannies, and Democrat Hajjis that are the ones who voluntarily enlisted in combat arms in the military to go fight and die in our wars.

The Soviet Democrats know that isn’t a recipe for a Civil War that will give them permanent power in their Amerika – it’s a recipe for them to be reduced to room temperature in very short order. So far, they have the rage and hatred and conservatives/Constitutionalists/Republicans have the knowledge and experience of guns and warfare. Push them into also being in a state of rage and hatred with your “civil war” and the ending isn’t hard to figure out.

Don’t be pulling on a dog’s tail unless you have a plan on how to deal with the teeth at the other end.

  7. Turley, I’m feeling some real sympathy for you today and I imagine it’s a rather terrifying day in your world. A central member, perhaps the preeminent member of the deflect through racist and misogynistic rhetoric club was harshly assassinated yesterday and political assassination, or assassination in general, is never an answer. I’m hoping you’re safe and protected in the future as I wish safety for everyone on the planet in a general sense.

Kirk was shot yesterday directly on the heels of making an insinuating racial distraction on the top of school shootings…so there is something to notice there. He had a career of making rather cruel and inaccurate statements on the topic.

Overall I saw him as much like Shapiro…, really bright guys who rhetorically argued in bad faith to try to convince people they weren’t really seeing what was happening right in front of their face. Still, that’s never a reason to be killed.

This was a trained shooter who did this yesterday. The investigation can lead in any number of directions. I’m just hoping America is mature enough to accept where it leads and I’m sort of convinced we aren’t. Don’t know the answer to that.

      1. The Left is crashing because they refuse to fight against authoritarian takeover on so many levels and their base is losing faith in them.

        1. The left and Democrats are losing because, the far leftists have highjacked the Democrat party with really stupid and crazy policies. The far leftists believe they are fighting a fight that only exists in their deranged minds. Sane and normal, moderate Democrats want these far leftists out of their party. But the far leftists appear to be too entrenched in the Democrat party which is why so many Democrats are leaving the party and joining the Republicans.

        2. Authoritarian takeover, do you mean like someone telling you what words you can use? Do you mean like someone telling you what car to drive? Do you mean someone telling you a man is actually a woman? Do you mean someone telling you your kids belong to them?
          URAFU

    1. Shapiro is brighter. He often holds a line of discussion leading the opponent into revealing what they actually think and for no other purpose. He wants answers and moves on without a blink.

    2. Summarizing: “Mr Turley, you must be terrified because someone who thinks like you was killed for expressing his thoughts.” Seek help.

  8. Mathew Dowd was fired today by MSNBC for giving a tone deaf, if not overtly hostile report on Charlie Kirk’s killing. Call it what it is. It was a political killing not a death in bed surrounded by your loved ones.
Pure Murder. Say it repeatedly. Not platitudes like “he passed away”, “he’s gone”, “he died”. It was death by a high powered rifle because he was espousing the beliefs of what the nation was founded on. Everything he was, everything he could have been, everything he dreamed of went with him.
It can all die unless we as a people keep alive the dream of our nation and isolate and remove the savages that would divide and destroy us.
Most of you simply have no idea what it’s like to be in an emergency room or ICU with that kind of wound and doing absolutely everything you can do as the wounded person watches you (because so many are actually awake as you try to save them).
You know they are slipping from your grasp and you watch them as everything fails and they watch you until their eyes lose focus, their pupils blow and it ends. Sometimes slowly and sometimes fast but it ends. With a young victim with a life full of hope and possibility, I don’t think there is a more empty feeling that you can have as a physician. It is awful. It leaves you drained and totally depressed. And angry. Sort of like a lot of us feel right now. I hope this is not symbolic of our nation.
I don’t know the answer out there but there is a sickness in our nation and I really don’t know if we approach it with kindness and understanding or as a cancer surgeon where we try to expunge every malignant cell that we can find. I hope we make the correct choice.
Time to reflect on our next steps.

  9. Prof. Turley,

What you think of as your Democratic Party is no more, if it ever was.

Our nation is a mess. Taking the high road to repairing our nation requires winning on the legal front and at the political debate, you know, with lawfare, electronic voting machines, mail-in ballots, and voting roles corrupted by illegals and the dead.

The nature of the low road is obvious.

Both roads lead through the shit to our future.

To determine our future we must control both roads. The Left figured this out long ago. We have been too comfortable.

  10. The Left’s stance can be summed up like this: We will do everything in our power to silence you at our university. We’ll smash windows, light fires, and assault people if necessary. And don’t forget—we have ANTIFA at our side, ready to “defend” us from your calm, rational arguments that anger us so much they must surely count as violence.

And isn’t it remarkable how ANTIFA always seem to show up—equipped, organized, and funded—even though we never told them when or where our “spontaneous” protest would be?

In the end, if the university dares to embrace the “fascist” principle of free speech by allowing you to speak, you will leave us with no choice but to eliminate you. After all, you will have forced our hand.

And through all of this, rest assured—we will tell the world you are the violent one.

The more interesting question, though, is not the surface theatrics, but what forces in society cultivated this massive delusion at the core of today’s grotesquely irrational leftist belief system. I do not believe this confluence of forces happened by chance. Rather, the long-standing tendencies of the far-left fringe toward irrationality have been carefully exploited by actors whose aim is not to reform society, but to destabilize and destroy it.

Yes, that amounts to a conspiracy theory. But labeling it such does not invalidate it—nor would it be the first time in modern history that subversive forces have manipulated ideological extremes to their own ends.

  11. Please let’s all quit calling them Democrats. They are Communists, totalitarian communists that seek to enslave you at every level of your life. From taking a lions share of your paycheck to the toilet paper you wipe your bum with. They are murderous Communists seeking to enslave you. This is like a rerun of the Red Terror and 1930’s Germany. They just made a martyr for an entire generation.

God Bless Charlie Kirk and may his family find some comfort and peace that he’s now in heaven with his Savior.

  12. I wonder why JT didn’t mention all the Democrats that have been targeted and killed by trump supporters?

Why JT? Why no mention of The killing of Democratic state lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark by a Trump supporter?

    1. Why no mention of Fox News and trump pouring gas on the fire with their rhetoric? I’m pretty sure most of the calls for calm are coming from Democratic lawmakers. Violence is wrong, stop it on all sides.

But why does JT continue to be so biased and not mention how trump inflamed the situation? How many judges has trump maligned? How many death threats have been thrown at judges that rule against trump?

JT, stop being part of the problem.

      1. Anon answering its own comment. What will it think of next?
Blame Turley? Blame “trump”, his memes are violent hate speech deserving of assassination? Please, God help anon.

        1. There was no blame, just a comment that JT did not mention the violence committed against Democrats by trump supporters.

Where did the poster say that JT was to blame? Not there, Don’t make stuff up.

Jesse Waters called for retribution. How is that helpful? trump himself has used language that inflamed his supporters into action. Perhaps you remember Jan 6, 2021 when trump told his supporters to march on the Capitol Building? Remember all the people shouting to “hang Mike Pence”?

      2. What I have noticed is that what you call “voices for calm” coming from Democrats, is actually blaming Trump for Charlie Kirk’s murder — exhibit A: Elizabeth Warren.

        1. Trump isn’t making things better by blaming Democrats when nobody even knows who the shooter is or what drove him to it.
But his followers are taking his lead like they did on Jan 6 and starting to latch on to the idea of blaming Democrats, especially since Trump isn’t calling for calm; instead, he’s irresponibly pointing fingers and laying blame without any proof of who did it. Warren is right to call him out on this.

No one’s blaming Trump for Kirk’s murder, but the right is all worked up trying to pin it on Democrats and Trump is egging them on because they’re raging and itching for revenge, even though they don’t know who the shooter is. At this point, it looks like they don’t care, and it’s pretty much the kind of violent talk Professor Turley warns us about. Trump is just stirring up more hate towards Democrats because he’s clueless about what to say with so little info about the shooter. So, instead of being responsible, he decides to cast blame without any evidence, feeding into his followers’ need to lash out at Democrats for no reason.

    2. Well moron, why no mention of Van Jones bashing Kirk days prior to his assassination over the murder of a beautiful young Ukranian WHITE girl being racially motivated? Van Jones painted Charlie as a racist for bringing this topic up as fraud, the problem is the audio of the attack clearly shows the POS that did this stating “he did that White girl.” It was a federal hate crime of murder of an innocent young woman, the fourth in recent months.

Where’s Van Jones now, the nicest communist Charlie ever met?

  13. Great column professor. I hope young conservatives on college campuses nation wide do not hide in the shadows but take Charlie Kirk’s words of “prove me wrong!” to heart and in his memory stand up and be willing to speak.

    1. Good one… I’m curious what happens next on college campuses next.
Wonder how MIT, Harvard, NYU etc will respond. My guess, he got what he deserved they’ll say.

  14. Thanks for writing this, Professor Turley. Madness doesn’t begin to describe what has become of the left. Even compared to other periods of unrest in this country, their mentality and behavior are abhorrent, shocking, and not compatible with free, civilized society; at this point there are very few exceptions. They are so lost in their madness they cannot see they are the hate and the scourge they project onto others, almost exclusively.

  15. Violent speech has long been acceptable on campuses so long as it targets conservatives.

Trashing and stealing TPUSA tables and tents when they set up displays on campus, assaulting students manning those displays, etc is just “violent speech”, law professor Turley?

When did theft, wilful damage, vandalism, and assault cease being criminal offenses?

Kirk was murdered because he was a kind and compassionate threat to your Democrat party’s theology. Democrates need an environment of hate to operate in if they hope to survive.

  16. The murder of Kirk is disgusting, Whoever did this should spend a very long time, if not the rest of his life, in prison. However, this site is full of BS about how Demos foster violence. Lest we forget, here is a list of other despicable people, I think all of them are trump supporters…

The man who targeted and killed Democratic state lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark in their home in Minnesota in June was a Trump supporter.
The man charged with the attempted assassination of Pennsylvania’s Democratic governor Josh Shapiro in April was a Trump supporter.
The man convicted of orchestrating a series of hootings at the homes of four Democratic elected officials in New Mexico in 2022 was a Trump supporter.
The man who tried to kidnap then Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and assaulted her husband Paul in 2022 was a Trump supporter.
The men who wanted to hang Mike Pence on Jan 6, 2021, were Trump supporters.
The man who killed the son of Obama-appointed District Judge Esther Salas in 2020 was a Trump supporter.
The men who were convicted of trying to kidnap Michigan’s Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020 were Trump supporters.
The man who sent pipe bombs to the homes of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and other top Democrats in 2018 was a Trump supporter.
The man who killed left-wing activist Heather Heyer after driving his car into a crowd of counter-protesters in Charlottesville in 2017 was a Trump supporter.

    1. I hope you don’t own or have access to a gun. This is how far this has gone. Anon trots out unverified examples of wrongdoing by the other side to apparently justify this assassination. Nauseating.

      1. Did you read the part where the poster said “The murder of Kirk is disgusting”?
Where is there any hint of “justifying” the assassination?

    2. The man who tried to kidnap then Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and assaulted her husband Paul in 2022 was a looney tune..

    3. ” Lest we forget, here is a list of other despicable people, I think all of them are trump supporters…”

Trump supporters are about half the nation. Being a Trump supporter doesn’t equate to a political killing or even the reason.

You provided a list that is worthless because one can pick out an obvious case and provide the facts disproving what you say, while disproving your logic and knowledge.

Josh Shapiro: Balmer was angry at Shapiro’s position on the Palestinian problem; Shapiro is Jewish, so antisemitism might be tied in. Balmer also had psychiatric problems. One can conclude Balmer is on the left because the left is the one offering support to Hamas terrorists. How many others have you blamed on Trump who are actually on the left?

One cannot trust an Anonymous blogger. We saw the same with an Anonymous blogger who called himself James Bond for a short while, who disappeared into the biofilm when embarrassed.

  17. I don’t believe in ANY restriction of speech, but protest must be defined.
    Graffiti = Vandalism
    Destroying/taking property=Theft
    Hitting=Assault
LEO must enforce laws and stop mollycoddling the law breakers.

  18. Why was Charlie Kirk brutally murdered? Because he was too successful.

The Violent “Progressive” Left has been executing an extinction strategy for 50 years – having far fewer children than is necessary to have even a stable population. Left to this path, the Progressive Left would cease to exist in a maximum of 2 generations.

Their only hope of future survival as a movement is co-opting the children of normal people – and they’ve done a good job of that by the takeover of entertainment and education. In these arenas, there have been very few contrary voices, and the Left has run rampant here. Then comes Charlie Kirk, who’s super-power was the ability to speak to the kids, and by his celebrity, gave college kids the knowledge that they were not alone in feeling that the left was wrong on so many issues.

This threat to Left’s “feeder system” of new converts could not be countered, so it had to be eradicated. In Charlie’s memory, Conservatives must reclaim the education system. Private Universities that take precisely zero Government cash can teach whatever they want – but it is simply outrageous that tax dollars support a system working to undermine the country that feeds it.

    1. “Why was Charlie Kirk brutally murdered? Because he was too successful. ”

Exactly. While I did not follow Mr. Kirk, his views and mine are not very far out of line. His MO was to engage his opponents in debate. Evidently, he prevailed with many in the audience in far too many of those debates for the Fascist Left to tolerate, otherwise there would have been no motive for this assassination.

    2. So glad you have the answer. We don’t even know who did it, let alone any motive.
Nice how you think Demos are so violent but forget all the murders of left leaning people at the hands of trump supporters there have been.

Violence is wrong, and violence is on both sides of the aisle, Stop it, stop it all.

      1. We know EXACTLY who did it and we know the motive and if you don’t it’s because you thrive on the dark side of American politics.

          1. And why are you anonymous? It wasn’t a Republican conservative who shot Kirk or do you expect Gurfeld or Carlson were behind this atrocity?

            1. I don’t know. Plain and simple. I have no idea the motivation. Maybe the shooter was a former lover. Maybe the shooter was a far right person that wanted to inflame the situation because they didn’t think Kirk was inflammatory enough? Maybe it was a left leaning person that didn’t like the hate emanating from Kirk. I don’t know, And neither do you.

              1. “the hate emanating from Kirk”, didn’t take long for the Lefties to label this a justifiable homicide. They “respect” the First Amendment as long as they can decide which speech is protected.
