JPMorgan Executive Identified and Fired in Trash Can Viral Video

The viral video of a woman stealing a trash can and dumping its contents after the Knicks’ victory has led to her termination.  Angie Baez, 40, was the “Executive Director of Community and Industry Engagement for Card and Connected Commerce” for JPMorgan Chase. She was shown in a video dumping trash on the ground to steal a Knicks-colored trash can after the NBA Finals. JPMorgan apparently concluded that this was neither the publicity nor the type of Community Engagement they are seeking.

The videotape of the incident shocked many by Baez’s cavalier attitude, not just in stealing the trash can but in dumping out the garbage.

The New York Post later reported that the woman had been identified as Angie Baez. She previously served as “Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” at The Infatuation, a website that reviews restaurants and neighborhood activities.

Once she was identified, JPMorgan Chase issued a statement, “This employee is no longer with the company.”

We have often discussed the difficult questions surrounding the termination of employees for speech in their private lives that is considered harmful to an employer. Whether it is conduct or speech, private companies often reserve the right to terminate any employee who brings negative attention to the company, even when they do not reference or display an association with the company. In today’s web-savvy world, it does not take long for motivated individuals to learn the identity and associations of public figures.

We have seen companies fire employees for drunken displays and abusing others in viral videotapes. There is little recourse in such cases, particularly for at-will employees.

In the case of Baez, she falls into the same category as Adam Smith (not the economist), who made a fool out of himself at a Chick-fil-A.

Ultimately, Baez was not even allowed to keep the trash can. She was also given a $75 fine for littering and a $100 fine for impeding Department of Sanitation operations. That proved to be an expensive memento for the Knicks victory.

NB: This blog column was updated with the news of the later fines issued to Baez.

  1. Now that she/he’s been terminated from JP Morgan, based on her/him handling a garbage can she/he obviously will find life as a NYC Sanitary Engineer aka Garbage Man/Woman.

    1. Anon– “Apparently the bar for becoming an executive is very low these days.”

Same may be said of becoming a politician in the urban blue zones or becoming a federal judge.

      1. The bar IS DEI. Ironic isn’t it? She failed to meet the DEI bar after this public stunt. What had she been up to behind JP Mogan’s doors if this is her morality?

    2. Yeah she is obviously a 4.0 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia University!
She can wipe her arse with that degree.

  2. We have often discussed the difficult questions surrounding the termination of employees for speech in their private lives that is considered harmful to an employer.

Okay, but dumping out a can of trash and stealing the can is conduct, not speech. She wasn’t even trying to convey a message, so it’s not even a mix of speech and conduct. She was just crapping all over everyone else and stealing others people’s property.

    1. OldManFromKS,
“She was just crapping all over everyone else and stealing others people’s property.”
I think you just made another metaphor for DEI.

    2. Just like the Jan 6th rioters who stopped the elector college process while hunting for Pence.

  3. DEI is as unconstitutional as “race-conscious affirmative action in college admissions.”

In fact, all forms of affirmative action are unconstitutional.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that race-conscious affirmative action in college admissions is unconstitutional.

  4. These are the clowns the globalists want to rule over us. The sinners are kicking out the sinner to keep their sins.

    1. It’s the woke global elites against the people just trying to earn a living. It’s clear who the good guys and bad guys are in this story, it’s not even in dispute.

      1. OldManFromKS,
It will be interesting how historians will write about this story, and who the good guys were and who were the bad guys.
As the old saying goes, “The winner writes history.”
We have seen the resignation of UK PM Starmer. The various failed or failing immigration policies of the EU. The failures of illiberal Democrats polices and the failure of wokeism. The failure of the Biden admin.
I am not inclined to bet on luck, but we seem to be making a turn and the good guys are now winning.

  5. Baez also appears to have co-founded a queer and black, indigenous and people of color-owned talent agency, Same Page Co., which is “focused on increasing representation and equity in media and industry. It works with artists/talent on creative projects, photoshoots, strategy, and business affairs.”

Gee, what a surprise. I never would’ve guessed she did any such thing! /sarc

    1. Damage by Knicks white male fans:

Vehicles: Five school buses were torched in or near Times Square, and five NYPD vehicles were struck with bats and stomped on.
Vandalism: Groups climbed traffic lights, light poles, and scaffolding. Multiple yellow cabs and personal vehicles had their windshields and hoods smashed.

Fireworks: Fans lit flares and fireworks in dense crowds, blocking vehicular traffic.

For getting a piece of the Knicks post-game memorabilia she’s not even in the top 1,000.

I think it is safe to assume that the violent Knicks fans vote Republican and aren’t from New York City.

        1. Most DEI workers don’t commit crimes either, so why is this worth an article by Turely? Because he’s got a large number of racists who look for confirmation their beliefs are well founded and Turley delivers.

          1. Racist? who you calling racist? you a racebaiter? DEI is racism (a crime) and I don’t like racists, got it?
By the way, America is the LEAST racist country in the world.

          2. Why don’t you start your own f—-g blog and write about whatever you want to? Turley can write about what he wants to. See how that works, you f—g moron?

  6. JPM Needs to FIRE the Hiring Manager Moron that brought this P.O.S. onboard! Let me guess – at hiring this Porker had BLUE hair and Bull Nose Ring during the Biden era so it/that/they/them was perfect!! Probably be an NYC Mamdani Spokesthing by next week now!

  7. These far-leftists are completely insane as the actions of this woman prove. “Executive Director of DEI”??? Yup–this is what the far-leftists believe in!

  8. Isnt it pathetic that corporate America still hires loathsome creatures like this while modest people without politically correct credentials go unemployed and indeed are discouraged from ever trying for such jobs? I mean whens the last time you saw a white male high school graduate working in a DEI berth. Or an Asian male one for that matter.

I look at DEI type departments often out of curiosity, and they are usually staffed by black, hispanic, and white women. Sometimes you see an Asian women like the one who used to head up SPLC after the Morris Dees clique (Dees, Cohen, Beirich) were all fired because of Dees harassing women and POC employees.

If people find this sort of head-counting and racial and gender generalization discomforting, then quit promoting AA and DEI in the first place.

  9. The sanitation dept. of NYC should hire her, and dock her pay to pay for the trash can ($168) and pay her minimum wage. This solution means she can’t file for unemployment and food stamps

  10. “Dumping trash onto the street and stealing public property for your own personal use are both illegal, antisocial behaviors, and not what New Yorkers do. On top of all that, doing both on camera is incredibly stupid,” the New York City Department of Sanitation told The Post in a statement. The NYPD said on June 20 it has not received any complaints related to the incident and Beaz has not been charged with a crime.

  11. At 40, one would think that she (I am guessing) is old enough to be a responsible person no matter what her occupation or ideology. The fact that she is willing to dump trash and steal the garbage can, in this age of cameras and the internet shows how disconnected from reality she is. And as a side note, she and her generation are rabid about the environment and would scoff at anyone else that would do what she did.
A proper punishment including a fine, would be for her to have to get down on her hands and knees, pick up and scrub the area clean of her mess. I doubt that the DA in the city would even think of charging her though, since she is of the protected class.

    1. . . . she and her generation are rabid about the environment . . .

      Great observation.

      A proper punishment including a fine . . .

That kind of brazen dumping of trash deserves at least some jailtime. It’s just too brazen, disgusting, in-your-face, I don’t give a sh*t about anyeone else, behavior. Someone point out she was pulling in $300K from JP Morgan. It’s just so blatantly offensive that nothing short of 90 days in the slammer will teach her to behave.

    2. More than 60 Knicks fans were arrested and many NYPD officers were injured with 5 school busses set on fire and much more.

Turley picked to write about her because he’s a lover of the pillory, but he can’t do that, so he throws rotten articles instead.

      1. I guess that lame exercise in deflection is about as good a low-IQ imbecile leftist can do when she can’t defend the perp in the story. Moron

      2. Turley picked to write about her because that’s what us readers what to read. But why are you here? oh i get it now, you’re a bad person!

      3. you don’t understand; a person of this caliber was making decisions that affect others very livelihood. That’s the story, get it? bad person. Do you support what she did?

        1. Every day tens of thousands of people do bad things. Do you support keeping them anonymous?

The perpetrators in the Epstein files, for example, have been kept anonymous by Republican politicians and the President. Those perpatrators affected their victims to a far greater extent. This one made minor and everyday bother to sanitation workers.

Turley could post a new article every single day on the subject of sexual assault by a Republican judge, representative, economic leader, and focus on the coverup by the Trump administration of the Epstein abuse chain.

  12. Apparently her salary was in the neighborhood of $300K. Imagine how much deadweight this country is carrying.

    1. Mike Conrad,
      $300k?
Well, that is $300k JP Morgan just saved.
I know other companies like Microsoft, after discovering DEI adds nothing to the bottom line and is not the asset they thought it was but a liability, they axed the entire division.
Ah! Now it makes sense! All those young people who jumped on the DEI wagon, thinking they would get high paying jobs as social activists, now they are out of jobs. Hence the attraction of socialism. They bought into DEI along with the debt. Once companies figured out it was not worth what they were also sold on, they fired their DEI hires. Now, all those DEI grads with high college debt are crying about how unfair it all is. So, they vote for the DSA thinking this time, it will be different!

  13. It used to be that Hollywood studios nsisted that their actors pretend to be sane in public.

Now they might be blacklisted if they aren’t publicly insane…or stupid.

Apparently JP Morgan prefers their employees to be sane and honest which means they should fire their entire DEI department.

    1. Here’s hoping that this whale WAS the entire department (or at least took up as much space as an entire department)

  14. I just want the explanation as to why this fat f*ck of an unhinged prog tool was hired in the first place. My expectation is that she was hired to lessen the outcry from fanatic, loud, obnoxious wokesters by hiring this tool. She evidently took this hiring as certification that her wild-assed delusions were valid and she became filled with an unwarranted hubris as to her real station in life. I think this company took the first opportunity to shed itself of her toxic agenda as soon as the winds of conservativism were noted in the air.

    1. I just want the explanation as to why this fat f*ck of an unhinged prog tool was elected in the first place.

I don’t have to say who as everyone knows that description is true.

  15. Dumping a mountain of trash onto the sidewalk.

Perfect metaphor for what DEI does to every industry it infects.

    1. She previously served as “Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” at The Infatuation, a website that reviews restaurants and neighborhood activities.
      ====
OK, I had a feeling there was going to be a Krazee Konnection to this Krazee Woman, and it has now been located!

      1. Several have appropriately wondered just how such a person gets hired. It seems she was employed by an entity (The Infatuation) that was acquired by JP Morgan/Chase in 2021Nevertheless, apparently JP Morgan/Chase apparently promoted her.
Here is an excerpt from The Infatuation explaining how they went about their business: “Our restaurant reviews and guides are all written by a small group of highly trained, highly opinionated writers and editors. They eat out a lot. More than they probably should.” Make of it what you will.
