FBI: Swalwell Did Admit to Sleeping with Alleged Chinese Spy and May Have Received Illegal Foreign Contributions

We all recall Bill Clinton’s infamous declaration that “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky.” One of his supporters, disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D., Cal.), now has his own “that person” moment. FBI material released this week shows that Swalwell admitted to what he refused to admit publicly: he did have sex with “that person.” Moreover, the material confirms that he not only enabled Fang Fang, an alleged Chinese spy, in pushing foreign interns for his office but may have received illegal foreign contributions. What is most striking about this report is that Nancy Pelosi was briefed on this information and still refused to remove Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee. After the scandal broke, Swalwell was repeatedly asked about his association. Still, he dismissed suggestions that he had a sexual relationship with an accused Chinese spy, a major allegation for a member with access to some of the most sensitive intelligence shared with Congress.

Swalwell declared:

“What it appears though that this person — as the story reports — was unsuccessful in whatever they were trying to do. But if intelligence officials are trying to weaponize someone’s cooperation, they are essentially seeking to do what this person was not able to do, which is to try and discredit someone.”

It turns out that Swalwell admitted to the FBI that the relationship was sexual in nature. The FBI also raised the possibility that Fang Fang was not only trying to get Swalwell to come to China, but that Swalwell may have received unlawful foreign donations.

We know now that the FBI believed Fang Fang may have been working with Chinese intelligence and in fact succeeded in establishing a sexual relationship with the rising politician.

When the scandal broke, some of us expressed astonishment at Pelosi’s decision to brush off calls for his removal from the House Intelligence Committee. She said she had been fully briefed on the FBI’s findings.

So Pelosi was presumably aware that Swalwell had slept with an alleged spy and possibly received unlawful foreign contributions. The report suggests an effort to groom and advance a young politician. If so, the Chinese must have been astonished when he was put on the Intelligence Committee with access to highly sensitive secrets. Pelosi not only refused to remove Swalwell from the Committee but appointed him as an impeachment manager.

At the time, Pelosi dismissed the allegations and attacked those like Kevin McCarthy who called for his removal: “I don’t have any concern about Mr. Swalwell…I do think that it is unfortunate that Mr. McCarthy is trying to make an issue of this.”

At the time, I said that Pelosi’s actions were reckless and put politics before national security. Swalwell was Pelosi’s man on the Committee. The question is whether the Chinese thought that he could also be their man on the Committee.

Pelosi continued to run interference for Swalwell despite allegations (starting before his entrance into Congress) of abusive treatment of women. The media also ignored these rumors and did not aggressively pursue his alleged affair with Fang Fang.

After Swalwell’s implosion, Pelosi immediately feigned a total lack of knowledge—and, more importantly, responsibility—for his record. The fact is that Swalwell was the creation of Pelosi, her attack dog who was always straining at the leash to attack her enemies. He was a made man, sheltered by the political and media establishment in Washington.

  1. Trump will seek asylum in North Korea when his presidency is over, to get away from his legal problems in the United States.

    1. What legal troubles? Once he’s done they will leave him alone and go after the next American trying to save our nation.

      1. 8 ball–the problem is, because of his narcissism, Trump is addicted to attention, to cameras–he’s not going to be “done” ever. He wouldn’t shut up after he got voted out in 2020.
Even after he leaves our White House, he’ll be holding rallies, going on Fox and other MAGA media, try to make outrageous headline-grabbing statements, and claim he is the GOAT–because he just HAS to be the center of attention. He will insult and verbally abuse whoever the next President is–even if they are a Republican– and will keep up his obsession about Biden and Obama, even though Biden might not still be around then. Trump’s not “trying to save” anything–he is using the power of the Presidency to amass as much wealth and as many gold shiny things as possible, for amnesty over IRS audits and prosecutions, to seek revenge against his perceived enemies and try to create some “legacy” for himself by building things no one wants and putting his name on things like the JFK Center For Performing Arts.

Did you hear the latest? Trump’s bank regulators “approved” allowing Trump’s crypto scam to be granted a license to be a federal bank—not kidding. How much foreign money do you think will flow through there, and how much oversight from federal regulators will this “bank” receive? Did you see that Capital One already shut down hundreds of Trump bank accounts because of evidence of money laundering? Ron Insana termed this latest scheme to be a “third world” country tactic.

        1. As those of you on the left correctly point out – he is getting older.

If nothing else he will die eventually.

Regardless, it is irrelevant how much Trump wants attention – he is unlikely to get much after he leaves office.

Plenty of people won’t shut up. Few get the attention of the nationwide media.

Trump is likely to be massively ignored by the media after Jan 21, 2029.

If you do not like Trump crypto – do not buy it.

Why should you need anyone’s approval to loan other people money ?

      2. Trump is to America what the captain was to the Costa Concordia. Trump’s running the nation onto the rocks and will hop into the first lifeboat and leave the country to founder.

    2. TDS puts these fantasies in your head. it’s incurable so keep raging until something bursts.

  2. Thank you JT, This is so much more important than trump being a pedophile. trump has been found liable for sexual abuse. There is credible evidence that trump is a pedophile.

But hey, let’s talk about this instead.

JT, you are an ASS. What the F happened to you?

    1. Other than the “Katie Johnson” hoax perpetrated by former Jerry Springer Show producer Norm Lubow (AKA Rev. “Bud” Green) and some ravings by a blogger who makes Alex Jones look like Walter Cronkite, there is not even a suggestion that Trump ever molested any child.

Compare and contrast Biden’s open obsession with the sexuality of Senators’ pubescent daughters, documented on C-SPAN.

      1. According to sources in the media, the Epstein file contains an allegation that Trump sexually assaulted an underage girl, and that this is one reason why he won’t allow the full Epstein file to be released. There are also those who claim that Putin has the evidence and that’s why Trump kow tows to him. Sooner or later, the entire files will be released.

        1. “Sources in the media” you fvcking retard. The media HAS sources (sometimes). THEY are not sources.

Putin Putin Putin…laptop denying Gigenius still squawking 10 years later!!!

          Bwahahahahahahahahahaha

          1. The denial is that Hunter Biden abandoned a laptop with a man who could not identify him to perform a service that was never paid for.

        2. ATS – Allegations that Trump sexually assaulted an underage girl are not new. They were litigated almost 10 years ago and dismissed by the courts without trial for failure to state a case.

Of course that would be in the Epstein files.

You seem to beleive that regurgitating long ago debunked garbage is somehow damning.

There are people who claim the mon is made of green cheese.

You do not seem to have a clue what credible means.

I strongly suspect the entirety of the Epstein files will eventually be released too – that despite the fact that doing so is unconstitutional, and no law passed by congress can change that.

Law enforcement in the US can only constitutionally speak through the courts. It is not constitutional for government to conduct an investigation of private parties, gather allegations and then make them public. Either DOJ must find those allegations credible and indict and try those implicated or it must be silent. That is what the right to privacy means.

HOWEVER the alleged victims of crimes that are purportedly in the epstain files are all perfectly free to attempt to get criminal prosecutions – eithe rin the federal or state courts, and/or to sue the alleged perpitarators. Or to go to the media and tell their stories. Further – as they have done, the epstain estate is free to release Epstains personal papers.

There is a massive amount that can be done – much of which has been done with regard to Epstain. What can not be done constitutionally is investigative work product made public without going to trial.

Virginia Gufrey did sue and received significant compensation from Prince Andrew. Any of the others victimized by Epstain or others have always been free to come forward.

Why is it you beleive DOJ has something that the victims do not know and can not speak to, or that has not already come out ?

Like the collusion delusion – the media has been hounding everything Trump for over a decade.

Do you really think that DOJ found things the media is incapable of ferreting out

Regardless, you are chasing long ago debunked nonsense.

          1. One of Trump’s favorite lawyers buried the Epstein investigation. That’s why he’s Trump’s favorite.

      1. How is the Iran war going?
        How are tariffs working out?
Is the Ukraine War over? (it must be, trump promised it would be over on day 1 of his new administration)
How much does a pardon cost? $1 million? $5 million?
trump is a convicted Felon, Yes there is credible evidence he is a pedophile.

But JT would rather put BS up.

What are the odds trump flees the country prior to his term being up?

        1. “How is the Iran war going?”
Fairly well. Everything desired has been accomplished except getting Iran to agree to behave in the future.
While such and agreement is politically important, it is otherwise meaningless.
If Iran misbehaves – we will come back.
          “”How are tariffs working out?”
Pretty well too. Investment is flowing into the US.

Inflation remains low. The world has not come to an end.

          “Is the Ukraine War over?”
No but the tide has shifted. Russia is losing. Ukraine is now wining – slowly, but surely.

“How much does a pardon cost? $1 million? $5 million?”
I do not know – ask Biden.

“trump is a convicted Felon, ”
Nope the largest jury in history acquitted him and vacated your idiotic kangaroo court.

“Yes there is credible evidence he is a pedophile.”
Then you would be able to provide it .
Pedophilia is not a victimless crime. Bring forth an actual victim ?

I allege you are a pedo – is that credible evidence.

          Learn to think critically.

“What are the odds trump flees the country prior to his term being up?”
          Zero.

          1. Why ask Biden about pardons in exchange for bribes. No one ever contributed to Biden to get a pardon. Trump, on the other hand, has a very public history of accepting contributions from those he pardons.

Trump said “Day one” for ending the Ukraine war.

Inflation this high under Biden was unacceptable to Republicans. Now that it is Trump doing it they are fine with it.

As to the Iran war the only goal of the effort was getting Iran to agree to behave in the future. As John Say notes, Trump has 100% failed to do that.

      2. The Justice Department released a batch of previously unreleased documents from the Epstein files that include notes from FBI interviews with a woman who says she was assaulted by President Trump as a minor.

        Who has TDS?

        1. You. Thius is decades old news. The case was litigated, This claim was dismissed without a trial – why ? Because the alleged victim who made multiple claims in multiple states could not estyablish that it was even possible for her to have been in the same place at the same time as Trump.

The allegation was not credible a decade ago.
Of course it was in Epstains files – after Trump reported Epstain to the police – Epstain hated Trump and spent the rest of his life trying to “get Trump”.

If you produced a video of Trump boffing a teen today – you have lied so much – most people would assume it was AI generated – and they would be correct.

You do not seem to understand how significant the 2024 Election – the majority of the country in the largest Jury ever assembled acquitted Truymp fo ALL your idiotic charges AND they condemned you for your lawlessness and delusions.

Why are you still around ? Have you no shame ?

          1. There are over 300,000,000 people in the US. Not all are eligible to vote. Only some 80,000,000 voted for Trump, nearly 80,000,000 who voted to convict, leaving 140,000,000 or so uncommitted to the acquittal or unable to express that belief; all told, hardly a majority. Even so, the question of whether the supporters believed there was a crime or not was not part of the ballot. Many may simply have decided that Trump has repeatedly raped women and they support rape.

      1. Convicting Trump in a bogus court to paint him a felon was the first step in the DSA trying to remove his Secret Service detail post Presidency. I can hear them now… blah blah blah rapist, pedophile, Epstein, Epstein, Epstein…Convicted felon doesn’t deserve tax payer funded protection from Secret Service.

    2. Yea, just as credible as the “evidence” that got him found liable…Bwahahahahaha what a douche.

    3. ATS – no there is not even credible evidence of Sex abuse by Trump.
The largest jury in history acquitted him after your kangaroo court nonsense.
Your lunatic claims and the lawfare behind them are a part of what got him re-elected.

      People do not beleive you

      For good reason

  3. I was going to type an insightful truth, but I knew that blind eyes would have been turned to it. It wouldn’t have gotten through to anyone whose mind is already made up. It was futile, so I just gave up.

  4. Swalwell is just a scapegoat. A red-herring distraction against what Trump is doing to put America at risk.

    1. Presumably you feel the same way about the NIH Morris Guilty plea today for conspiring with Fauxi, and Eco Health to coverup the funding of Covid development, for illegally destroying federal records, for communicating official business on gmail accounts to evade FOIA, for accepting bribes, and on and on and on.

Or the revalation of a separate FBI counter intelligence investigation fo Trump and allies including GOP senators and congressmen independent of Crossfire Huricane or Mueller, that was again illegally conducting survielance on americans.

Or the revalation that NJ is now cooperating with DOJ and DHS and will be turning over its voting registration records – because there are likely atleast 35,000 illegal aliens registered to vote in NJ and that is just a tiny portion of all illegal voter registrations in NJ,.

Or the revalation that the NSA kept delaying a detailed report on foreign election interferance – to avoid giving Trump ammunition in 2020, and because it would be perceived as undermining the bogus claims by CIA.

Or, ….. so many other revalations of bad conduct by those on the left.

  5. Today (08/18/26) is the general election (final 2 candidates) to fill Swalwell’s seat until the end of the year. It’s so depressing. Both candidates are progressive Dems, and refused to 1:1 debate, nor to do any public forums, nor take questions from the voters, nor from reporters. (There was a local cable TV event months ago during the primary stage for this temporary seat, but there were 8 candidates at that early stage.)

We’re seeing a repeat of Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign-from-in-hiding. The only info the voters in CA 14th have to go on are mailers…junk mail framing the opponent as evil.

It’s very hard to claim that the CA Democratic Party still supports citizen-based democracy. The refusal of these 2 finalists for US Congress to compete in public view, and be responsive to the electorate is repugnant. Their idea of democracy is operating within a closed bubble, taking personal viewpoints into government rather than acting as a Representative of diverse opinions in their District, and otherwise acting as entitled elites.

    1. Biden’s 2020 campaign was just seeing the mess Trump had made. Why interrupt Trump when Trump was continuously making mistakes? It worked and Trump lost.

  6. Trump is in a greater position of power than Swalwell, so Trump is an even greater security risk.
Having a president like Trump show’s the Trump mentality.
A president should not have a mentality like Trump’s.

  7. Seriously? How do the few remaining ethical on the modern left keep defending or voting for this? Being r*tarded is not a good look, but that is what you are. Idiocracy has actually happened in reverse. For Pete’s sake, stop, already. What will it take? Really, what? at the most basic, is it really this hard for you all to admit you f***ed up as parents and stewards of upcoming generations?

    1. James
I’ve said many times, we’re going to be fighting them in the streets before we are done with this nonsense.

    1. Economy is booming, never had it so good. Once he’s done obliterating the Iranian terror regime gas will drop and a bit of stability will come to the world.

      Rubio 2028 President
      Wilson 2026 FL Governor

          1. How is that racist? The U.S. has 50 states. There are 2 black republicans running for Governor. Two percent of 50 = 1. So 2 candidates is actually an over-representation, by 100%. You must be a Democrat who thinks that math is racist. Stay in California, please!

  8. QUOTE What is most striking about this report is that Nancy Pelosi was briefed on this information and still refused to remove Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee. /QUOTE

    That sentence caught my eye.

I wonder if the fact that Pelosi’s driver for 20 years was herself had connections with the CCP.

    1. I think you mean Feinstein. Pelosi covered up Swalwell’s indiscretions because that way she wouldn’t embarrass the Party. The Party is much more important than the country.

  9. Maybe if they squeeze this guy a little he’ll give up his mentor? Do you remember wherever Schiff was Swalwell was inches behind? I was always waiting to see if Schiff stopped quickly would the DC fire department be called in with the jaws of life to pry his head from Schiff’s behind.

    1. Watching Swalwell tailing Schiff was laughably rediculous. There is so much corruption in the Democrat’s party that we will never get rid of it. Pelosi was a cancer and she gets treated with some rediculous “emeritus” label as if she is Gandhi.

  10. Trumps sexual shenanigans far outweigh any of Swalwells. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in Swallwell’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in Trump’s own eye?

    1. What sexual shenanigans has Trump been involved in as an elected official? Can you name one?

So where was Tossoff’s concern when Obama and Reggie Love were joined at the hip? Not only did he like women like Jennifer Anniston, he liked men too, double the freak.

        1. Yes, Trump’s planting one on the lips of seven different women was JUST LIKE Swalwell’s having sex with a Chinese spy.

        2. There is nothing in your stickywiki link that had any kind of sexual misconduct against Trump during any of his tenure in public office. It was all stuff claimed from 30-40 years ago and highly suspect to political purposes, Carroll?!

Swallows was an elected sitting member of Congress, stands accused of raping women and admittedly banging a Chicom spy!

        1. That’s BS and you know it just as much of what’s thrown at Trump. Character? Just because you are a character doesn’t mean that you have any character.

    2. There is a huge difference…Trump wasn’t on the Intelligence Committee…get some help for your TDS !!

    3. The state of New York set aside an entire year for ALL OF TRUMP’S victims to sue him, no matter when the assault happened.

Only ONE (1) woman did — the menopausal E. Jean Carroll. What happened to Trump’s other victims? E. Jean got $5 million. Didn’t the other ladies want money?

  11. Strip out the name and the party. A member with access to classified intelligence has a relationship with someone assessed as a likely foreign agent, plus open questions about undisclosed foreign money. Leadership is briefed. Leadership keeps them on the committee anyway.

Ask it as a pure process question, no partisan markers: does access to sensitive intelligence get pulled the moment a credible counterintelligence risk shows up, or doesn’t it? If your answer depends on knowing which party the person belongs to, that’s the tell, that’s team sport mentality masquerading as good citizenship.

    1. Olly, If only people were able to pull their heads out of their asses and stop looking through the 3D glasses and only see red or blue. Nonpartisan understanding should always win out; however, ever since 2008, when they successfully shifted the scope from rich v less rich, to race, gender, etc., it’s been nothing but a crapshoot.

  12. Rape has been claimed in both Clinton and Swalwell encounters with the law. Let’s see some justice in those offenses, full investigations.

  13. Just an observation, notice how as more and more evidence of wrong doing by Democrats, the deep state in favor of Democrats, wrong doing by the Biden admin comes out, the more the annonys attempt to deflect to . . . nothing.
    How marvelous!
Keep you eye on the ball, ignore the distractions and deflections. Note the wrong doing, the corruption, keep it in the spotlight. Keep pointing it out.

“I care about liberal values being replaced by illiberal ones.”

    — Bill Maher

    1. Upstate: you have no clue as to what “evidence” is–if you think Turley’s piece constitutes “evidence”. If anything, i’s “evidence” of how scared MAGA and Republicans are of losing in the midterms and the lengths to which they will go to have their purchased pundits try to divert attention away from real “evidence” of Trump’s unfitness to be President and Republicans’ failure to rein him in.

      1. You mean this evidence, FBI had evidence Swalwell got illegal donations from suspected Chinese spy, bombshell memos show
“The newly declassified investigation files also show that the FBI had initially tried to recruit the infamous Fang Fang as a source that could share information on Chinese influence operations targeting public officials in the United States.”
        https://justthenews.com/accountability/political-ethics/6amfbi-had-evidence-swalwell-got-illegal-donations-suspected
The memos are in the article.

          1. No. Just the News is display real journalism.
IF you actually read the Just the News article, you would of seen,
“The FBI probe targeting Swalwell and Fang was opened on March 17, 2014, and codenamed “Freshman Fifteen,” according to a now-declassified “Interim Authority” memorandum, which was reviewed by FBI headquarters and the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section.

The FBI assessment, which later became a full-fledged investigation, centered on allegations that Swalwell awarded internships at his offices in exchange for campaign contributions. The FBI identified Fang “Christine” Fang, a Chinese national, as the alleged facilitator of this exchange and alleged she employed conduits to route illegal donations.”

March 17, 2014. Nearly two years before Trump even entered the political stage.
If anyone has zero credibility, it is you.

      2. Well we DO have evidence you have TDS!
        haha you’ve got life-long incurable rage-inducing TDS!

    2. WHOA!
Just look at the annonys lame attempts to do something, anything to distract, deflect from all the evidence of Democrats wrong doing! All the misinformation, disinformation about Trump with no evidence other than MSM misinformation and disinformation.

  14. This is getting beyond ridiculous. Hopefully, there is a Claus von Stauffenberg out there willing to do what needs to be done.

  15. Wow! Turley is really digging deep here to divert attention away from the Trump-Natalie Harp scandal–it’s a trifecta–going after Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Eric Swalwell in a post lacking anything resembling proof. What is this blockbuster story? A report from “the FBI”–that agency has literally no credibility since heavy-drinking Kashyap Patel took over.
What are the alleged “facts”? Swalwell supposedly:

    -“enabled”- (what does that mean?)

    -“an ALLEGED Chinese spy”

-“in pushing foreign interns in his office” (“pushing” them to do–what?)

-he “MAY HAVE received foreign contributions” We KNOW Trump is “receiving foreign contributions”–a Qatari luxury flying palace, and purchase by foreign governments of his worthless crypto. Contributions of how much–where are the financial records, and what was purchased?

What do those words say? Literally nothing. Typical MAGA innuendo–red meat for the disciples.

However, since Swalwell is no longer a member of Congress, Turley goes after Nancy Pelosi for not removing Swalwell from a committee assignment “based on this information”.–WHAT “information”? I don’t see anywhere in Turley’s post any actual facts to support the title of today’s piece–that Swalwell allegedly admitted to a sexual affair–what is the “source” of this information? The Trump FBI:

“We know now that the FBI believed Fang Fang may have been working with Chinese intelligence and in fact succeeded in establishing a sexual relationship with the rising politician.”

“the FBI BELIEVED Fang Fang MAY HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH CHINESE INTELLIGENCE”–

Typical MAGA language–“WE KNOW”–WE don’t know anything–and MAGA does not represent most of us. And Turley has used just enough weasel wording for plausible deniability for making a baseless accusat io.

    1. QUOTE: And Turley has used just enough weasel wording for plausible deniability for making a baseless accusat io. /QUOTE

Well, at least it was PLAUSIBLE deniability. His comments could reached into the realm of IMPLAUSIBLE deniability.

Plausibile deniability is not always bad or “weasel wording.” It is also a sign of restraint and care, so as not to commit before all is known to what turns out to be an incorrect conclusion. In that case, it is the prudent course.

Take, as an example of implausibility, the disclaimer of the 51 current and past intel agents who suggested Hunter’s computer was likely Russian Disinformation. They admitted they hadn’t seen it, but nevertheless said it “had all the earmarks” of Russian disinformation, and slipped that admission into a single short paragraph near the very bottom of their article. It sat there, deep inside their op ed with little impact owing to all the strong rhetoric that preceded it, all pointing towards the computer being “Russian Disinformation.”

It was not hard to be very suspicious of the contrast between the pointedness of their thesis and the disclaimer of that paragraph. If one were alert to such things, which most readers were not.

  16. How do we know it wasn’t intentional? All traitors will have a story about how they’re not a traitor and his is “didn’t know” and that’s fine?
I’m betting his recent ‘democrat dirty tricks take-down’ had something to do with these new revelations not his caveman side.
The fact that we didn’t know the whole story about Swalwell tells me the deep state is still active.
