Jeddah police arrested two female professors from King Abdulaziz University this week for the crime of driving themselves to the mall. Police were shocked by the sight of a woman behind the wheel of a car and immediately pulled them over. We have previously followed the struggle of women to enjoy this freedom of movement in the Kingdom (here)
The women claimed that they had no alternative when their driver disappeared a few days earlier and they had no male relative to drive them. The driver in her 20s has been turned over for prosecution.

I can’t figure out how the Arabian heat can tell they are women inside those spiffy ninja suits … do they shave their eyebrows?
Dredd,
No, they get full Brazilian Wax.
Well, if they were driving in the States (US) anyplace save Dearborn, MI they would be stopped because they are not visible for the officer to identify while they are driving. I kid you not. Yes, they do drive there.
As far as a patrician society they have evolved not much.
Guess Saudi Arabia has no need for wider “pink” parking spaces for female drivers like they do in South Korea.
