Recently, Rush Limbaugh explained how Obama economic policies were the cause of Republican Gov. Mark Sanford’s affair with a beautiful Argentinian woman. But what caused the economic problems that caused the stimulus package that aroused Gov. Sanford? Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern has finally answered that question: our sins. Kern has drafted a resolution that puts the current economic crisis squarely on the backs of libertines and godless people who have produced a moral crisis. This includes Obama’s refusal to “uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in recognition of our National Day of Prayer.”
You may recall Kern from his viral video ranting about gays, here. Now, she has gone macro economic in showing how free sex can destroy the free market. It is like the lost chapter of Adam Smith’s An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. Of course, one must remember that, like his successor Kern, Smith held forth on both moral and economic theories with his publication The Theory of Moral Sentiments.

In the resolution below, Kern’s resolution declares in pertinent part:
WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis; and
WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion,
pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery; and
WHEREAS, alarmed that the Government of the United States of America is forsaking the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built; and
WHEREAS, grieved that the Office of the president of these United States has refused to uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in giving recognition to our National Day of Prayer; and
WHEREAS, deeply disturbed that the Office of the president of these United States disregards the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior;
It appears that divorce is “a form of debauchery.” It is a bit harder to explain the cause and effect between the Giuliani divorces, which appear to occur regularly in good or bad economic times.
Of course, one has to ignore that fact that the crisis began under President George Bush who was a favorite of the religious right. Obviously, there was a bit of anticipatory economic damnation. Ironically, in a recent article in the Washington Post, it was disclosed how both Sen. Jon Ensign and Sanford frequented a little known house on Capitol Hill dedicated to prayer and specifically the National Prayer Day.
The main concern is how the continuing economic crisis will unravel other GOP leaders and push them into the arms of temptation. What is the danger for innocent bystanders or pets if the bond market continues to decline? Indeed, if Obama knew of this link between free sex and the free market, this may have been the plan all along. Knowing that Republicans become sexually and immorally active during economic downturns, Obama and his minions may have triggered the economic crisis to shutdown the GOP. Such leaders may be adapting the very same love/suicide pattern as the praying mantis.
Kern’s website proclaims that she is not simply conservative but Kernservative.” Clever.

OCPAC also voted Sally “Runner Up Lawmaker of the Year 2005.” In April of 2008, Sally was honored as the first ever recipient of the Family Research Council’s (FCR) “Champion of Faith, Family, and Freedom Award.” OCPAC has again voted Sally “Runner Up Lawmaker of the Year 2008.”
So let’s recap the current state of analysis. President Obama triggered the economic crisis (which began in anticipation of his election under President Bush) which prompted Congress to pass the stimulus legislation that caused Sanford to fly to Argentina to sleep with a woman other than his wife.
OKLAHOMA CITIZEN’S PROCLAMATION FOR MORALITY

What if the “HOLY BIBLE” is not the one your religion uses? What if you are atheist? I can see all kinds of legal problems with this proclamation.

Charles C., Yesterday I heard an analysis of the Iranian religious crew. I apologize for not remembering this man’s name but he said there was a split between the group that had pretty much stayed out of secular affaris because they believed god was taking care of all that. The current crew was of the mind that they ought to help god’s plans for running/ending the world along. This is the reason (excuse) they became so heavily involved in the running the govt.
It’s certainly not the first time this has happened historically and it seems to describe the split within the fundamentalists of the US. Rep. Kern falls squarely in the “we need power so we can bring the lord’s plans for armaggeden to fruition”. Many fundamentalists seem to want power over others, at least in the private sphere. For example,they tend to be all for wife and child beatings (no matter their gender) as men are supposed to control women and parents, children. Then there those who would like to extend that private power into the public sphere–just helping god and all. Rep. Kern is one of those and I think you are right to draw the connection to theocratic clerics in other nations (and in general, theocratic fundamentalists of any stripe, in any country).

The funny thing is that this sounds something that a religious cleric in certain middle eastern countries might propose. And
Charles, what does the line “…the right thinks it is the left trying to impose sharia law in the states…” mean? The left would hardly be the one insisting on religion over law. The left certainly wouldn’t be trying to impose draconian restrictions on people’s lives. Demanding allegience to one religion, watching carefully over people’s private lives, inflicting torture and harsh punishments for minor offenses, etc.—that’s the right’s chosen job and they take it seriously.
I don’t know if that’s true for most. My best friends didn’t make the compromises and didn’t “sell out “. The only problem for them is they ended up a lot poorer materially and resent people who have made more money. Oklahoma is far worse than Texas. They didn’t get all of us Yankees moving in, and they don’t have the wonderful Hispanic culture.
I was listening to Neil Young this morning and thought about the Album, yes the flat, black and round version, “Hawks and Doves” so I googled it. Oh my what a surprise. One web address stated that the Doves of the 60’s are now the Hawks of the 90’s. What a undermining statement. Thought a lot of my views have changed I am still not a proponent of death and or torture.

I’m getting sick of you liberals on this site. President Bush did what he was told to do by God so God could punish this nation. Do you really think Bush liked people such as Paulson and Snow? Do you think he had friends among GS, AIG or Bank of America? Those people may be Obama’s friends but they most certainly were not Bush’s. No siree–the Lord spoke to Bush and told him to put these people into positions of power. God told Bush to do it, because God feels it’s time to lay low the United States.

The news starts slow in Oklahoma? Will Rogers would not be amused. But then again, the state may be in a state of denial since, 1) it was a territory 2) it was only good enough for the Cherokee 3) oil was discovered 4) it was no longer good enough for the Cherokee 5) it was taken from the Cherokee 6) it was incorporated as a state in 1901; and 7) it was stolen from the Cherokee.
