Drunk Crossing: Romanian Government Erect Drunk Crossing Signs

Romanian officials are posting signs to deal with a growing problem: cars running over drunks.

Mayor Petru Antal explained that “we have to target the drivers because by the time the pedestrians get into this state they are beyond caring.”

It could also be a tourist attraction. Like watching the swallows of Capistrano, you can sit and watch the crossing of the drunks of Romania.

  1. It’s funny unless you live in a town full of drunks like I do. They had to lower the speed limit by one of the bars cause drivers kept hitting drunks. A few years back a cop was patrolling an alley, ran over something. Cop is like duh…what was that…so he backs up to see what he ran over (again driving over the bump he just went over). Come to find out it was a drunk passed out in the alley. My city council should consider signs like these.

  2. I like the tourist angle, but I’m thinking more of a live action version of Frogger. You get good and plastered, then try and make it across the street.

  3. I think it goes on more with staff members than pages but less than before because young people know what sexual harassment is and are not as afraid to report it.

  4. I am sure that it is not as reported unless a) egregious b) want the member out c) they can be bought off d) they end up dead e) they are given jobs in government f) they end up marrying the member g) it just doesn’t happen anymore.

  5. From what I hear the harassment of the pages does not go on so much anymore.

  6. You are not already? Son the age this will get to you. Most of the pages are 21 and below.

  7. I will stipulate that I have a filthy mind.

It got me through college and into law school.

  8. Buddha,

Lets be honest for a tad bit. Alls someone has to do is point you in the direction or make a suggestion and thar she blows….

  9. I would like to submit that “erect” and “drunk crossing signs” may be an awkward and unsatisfying verb and object pairing.

Blame Canadian, Eh. She steered my mind right into the gutter.

In all fairness, she did only steer it from the gutter across the street.

Is this a statement of the way most Romanians feel about the country that they live in or is it just regionalism in advertising.
