Mazda Dealership Sells Mentally Disabled Woman a Car at a 60 Percent Mark Up After She Comes In For New Tires

We have another entry in the rotten people file today (in addition to the TSA worker who allegedly robbed a disabled person, here). Mazda of Canada has stripped Mazda of Orangeville of the right to sell its cars after it sold a mentally-disabled woman, Madeline Leonard, a 2010 Mazda 6 at a huge overcharge of $66,000 for a $41,000 car that was previously used as a demonstrator. Leonard came in to simply buy new tires.

For $66,000, Leonard could have purchased a Lexus. It appears that this is not the only such complaint against Mazda of Orangeville. I am not sure why this case has not triggered a criminal investigation.

and a lawyer and a businessman are pikers compared to a senator or congressman. And the senator and the congressman even kiss you because they tell you they are doing it for your own good. 🙂

  2. …. however, you are endangering your status in the Elite Sea Org … you just might find yourself demoted to lowly Cadet Org and have to start all over …. I’m just sayin’

We can substitute ‘businessman’ for ‘lawyer’.

  4. Blouise,

Ya never know. I may be part of the Regulatory Agency created for the dissemination of this information. Hence AY. Just don’t tell Roland. he may have issues with it.

  5. AY,

  7. Psst…Roland,

Wow, I guess it’s not only the American Way to do business.

Don’t tell anyone else this, especially the Extreme Right and Tea Baggers. Ok? But Canada is in America and so you and the others won’t get totally confused, so is Mexico.

I ma posting as Anonymously Yours because I don’t want the wrath of those people on my door steps telling me I am wrong. This was the History lesson I learned under the auspice of World History.

Here’s another thing that maybe you should consider when thinking about the above. Look up Ameros. It may be true then again it may not be. But if it is, look at this “Conspiracy theorists contend that the governments of the United States, Canada, and Mexico are already taking steps to implement such a currency, as part of a “North American Union (NAU)”.[1] No current members of any country’s government have officially stated a desire to create such a body, nor has anyone introduced a common currency as part of this concept.[3]”

    Scary isn’t it?

  8. Wait a minute … isn’t this what the banks and Wall Street did to us with their worthless derivatives? And isn’t this what Goldman Sachs did when they bet against those derivatives, knowing they’d fail, thus making a huge profit on a worthless product?

Wish we had some of Canada’s style of justice here.

    Mr. Turley,

this woman does not seem to be the first victim, perhaps a pot calling a kettle black would get everyone in a stew….

‘Mazda of Orangeville has also popped up on the radar screen of the Better Business Bureau of Mid-Western and Central Ontario.

Although the dealership is not a member, the bureau has received six complaints and issued a D+ rating on a scale from A+ to F since January 2008.’

  10. If one was looking for the definition of an unconscionable sale, you could do no better than this one.

  11. The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council, which regulates new and used car dealers, charged Mazda of Orangeville and two senior sales employees recently with “engaging in unfair practice by making an unconscionable representation,” contrary to the Consumer Protection Act.

Can we say that these folks are real bastards. If I was there momma I wouldn’t claim them either.
