This video was released by Israeli activists making fun of the flotilla and claims of suffering in Gaza. The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) has been featuring the video.
The video mocks claims that “a billion dollars” cannot buy enough to feed people in Gaza and supply their children with “missiles and cheese.” The United Nations and various Western countries have decried the blockage on Gaza and documented a health crisis among its inhabitants. Israel routinely bars supplies to Gaza including health-care equipment and other items. The blockage was created in response to Hamas winning elections in Gaza.
The video mirrors another video released by the Israeli government that also mocked suggestions of any crisis.
Putting aside the controversy about what occurred on the ship and who escalated the confrontation, the continued denial of any humanitarian problem in Gaza is astonishing. It certainly does not help the cause of Israel.
Seeing is believing, unless of course the video above was edited or the IDF planted the weaponry.

The Katyushas, it seems, have come home to roost. Poetic justice, if true.

“Most of the rest of the world is willing to openly acknowledge the blockade for what it is, an inhumane and vicious policy that directly targets victims.”

I might agree if the IDF hadn’t intercepted over 300 tons of weaponry hidden behind humanitarian aid and civilian goods aboard the freighter “Francop” in November of last year. The seized weaponry included 9,000 mortar shells, thousands of 107-mm Katyusha rockets, 600 122-mm rockets, and hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition. They originated in Iran and was bound fr Syria and ultimately into the hands of Hezbollah.
I support the right of Israeli to defend herself from terrorists smuggling in arms to use on her school kids. Call me reactionary.
Certainly Gaza is suffering, but the question remains, how would we in the West handle it any differently if kids in Florida were being pelted by rockets launched from Havana and supplied by Iran? Do you think there would be no hue and cry to at least blockade Cuban ports? You know full well, we’d have a flotilla of another sort in Havana Harbor and the smolder would be seen for miles – the civilian population be damned.
HEAVY WEAPONS FOUND IN THE CARGO OF THE M/S. MAVI MARMARA FLOTILLA VESSEL.
This video shows that during the unloading of the Marmara boat in the port of Ashdod, behind the bags of flour were boxes of heavy weapons and ammunition: mortars, artillery shells, bazookas, without counting a trunk where more than one million euros was found intended for Hamas. This video should be widely distributed as evidence of why the IDF Naval commandos were dispatched to intercept the six vessels including the M/S Mavi Marmara. One wonders what is aboard the Irish vessel, the M/S. Rachel Corrie, that Israel will intercept sometime today when it approaches the Naval blockade line off the coast of Gaza. Clearly the Turkish AKP Islamist government is complicit in permitting this military cargo to be loaded on the ‘peaceful’ Free Gaza Flotilla. Please distribute this video widely. If you had any doubt about what was on the flotilla, here is the video. The French explains that the arms on display w ere hidden behind sacks of grain.

Welcome back, Jill. As everyone has stated your presence has been missed.
Israel continues the blockade because it is confident that it will suffer no consequences as a result. The political leadership in this country supports Israel because it is fearful of the consequences should it not do so. CBN supports Israel because Israel’s survival is critical to the fundamentalist interpretation of the Book of Revelations. Most of the rest of the world is willing to openly acknowledge the blockade for what it is, an inhumane and vicious policy that directly targets victims.
“I guess I’m out of fashion then.”
Nah, not at all, Toots! You’re just a bigot, that’s all.
I suppose Lot is to be forgiven for schtupping his daughters then, huh?
And thy name is “hypocrite.”
Hello Buddha. Thanks for the welcome.
I read a great idea from a poster on Common Dreams. She goes by readytotransform, (aka, rita). She said we should try to break into Gitmo via a flotilla. I liked her idea and wanted to share it here.
Regarding the video, although it is pathetic and they should have used people who were not so dang Butt-Ugly, it is satire and such freedom of speech acts must never be banned—although ethical people worldwide must roundly condemn it, given the abject suffering of the imprisoned Gazans.
In re the video.
My.
How very (un)Christian of CBN. But what should one expect from the Official Network of the Death Cult of St. John?
CBN – If the Rapture won’t come, we’ll still try to destroy the world. One community at a time.
Welcome back, Jill.
Welcome back Jill. We missed you.
It’s me and a big “hello” back to Mike A., FFLEO and Byron! I missed you very much and I hope all has been well for you. I am fine. Thanks for your welcome back and kindness. It’s a lot of what I missed on this site! (Not to mention the funny, erudite and ridiculous comments!!)
Hi Jill if that is the old Jill or Hi if a new Jill.
Mike A. I was writing as you posted.
Jill,
Are you the same Jill who once was a regular poster here?
If so, a huge welcome back and do not ever leave us again.
If you are a “new” Jill, then welcome.
Hi, Jill. That is you, isn’t it? Where have you been?
Willful blindness towards the suffering of others is horrific. The FreeGaza movement took the actions it did because they could not get their own corrupt governments to move against a great injustice. There are Israelis who oppose their own govt.’s illegal and immoral actions, just as there are Americans who oppose this govt.’s illegalities.
I believe the FreeGaza movement shows the way out. As the govt. will not act, the people must. But before the people can act they must have a conscience. Obviously, the people who made this video, and those who laughingly share it, do not have an ethical center. If they did, they could not mock suffering. My post will not address people who display this type of utter moral depravity. My post is an attempt to reach those good people in the US who, by still supporting a corrupt and unjust president and congress, aid the govt. in the commission of war crimes. It is addressed to liberals who support Obama and Democratic members of Congress.
The president has said he may kill American citizens on his say so alone. He has said he may order drone strikes anywhere he wishes. He has said he will imprison the innocent. He has put on trial, in a Military Commission no less, a boy who was captured in his home at the age of 15. International law states that a child soldier is to be considered a victim and given shelter. Instead the US govt. tortured and continues to hold this same person for 7 years. These are not paranoid beliefs on my part, but powers the president has claimed for himself, in public. My question is, will there ever be a level of illegality and moral depravity that this president can commit that will force you to quit offering him your support?
Look at this Congress. They bail out those who are clearly financial criminals. They fund illegal wars where we kill civilians. Our nation reigns destruction on much of the world. The Israeli branch of the US govt. has been our willing partner in all of it and the US branch of the Israeli govt. continues to partner in every crime.
It will take the concerted effort of the people in each country to stand against injustice. That means, no more support of any person in govt., whether they go by Democrat and Republican, who commits illegal actions. It means forceful, strong, peaceful resistance. No more excuses, no more false belief in leaders who use propaganda against their citizens so that good people sanction the action of bad leaders. It is up to we the people in both nations to create justice. Justice will not come from such corrupt governments but it can come from us.
Sick. Sick. Sick. Sick. Sick.
I don’t think CBN should run the video, but they are certainly free to do so.
I know that MLK and Ghandi wouldn’t have attacked the soldiers and if Muslims and their stupid supporters want play the part of peace activists they better learn how to do it (i.e., don’t be violent).
But, I suppose it is fashionable these days for leftists to coddle adherents of a religion which condones grown men having sex with children and still sanctifies having sexual slavery and trafficking.
I guess I’m out of fashion then.
