Anders Behring Breivik Identified As Suspect in Norwegian Attack

-Submitted by David Drumm (Nal), Guest Blogger

Norwegian television has identified a suspect in the shooting spree on the island Utoya as Anders Behring Breivik, 32, describing him as a member of “right-wing extremist groups in eastern Norway.” The shooting at the youth camp has reportedly resulted in more than 80 deaths.

In his Facebook account, now deleted, he describes himself as having Christian, conservative views. He also has a Twitter account with only one tweet, a quote from philosopher John Stuart Mills: “One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100 000 who have only interests.”

If the reports are accurate, don’t expect denunciations of right-wing extremism from Fox News. If the event in Norway had been caused by a Muslim, would Fox News classify it as a terrorist attack instead of a massacre by a madman?

  1. Defending an admitted mass murderer of more than 70 children, simply to defend one’s political philosophy is the mark of a truly biased mind, tainted with the inability to reason beyond one’s own limited ability to see the world clearly. That like the bigoted Pat Buchanan and Glenn Beck, DeRosa only pays lip service to this tragedy and then moves on to deflect the man’s insane beliefs in a tellingly pathetic evocation of his own innate sensitivity to the human condition. In short you are a disgusting human being and that is not ad hominem because it describes the root of your pathology, therefore your argument.

  2. When your IQ exceeds….Big chance in that..right bat boy….

  3. Maybe so, TinHat boy…Do you still ride your Bicycle with the Propeller and Nazi Helmet……The Red Baron you will never be….Excuse me…only in your mind…and I have no right to pry there…not much anyways….When you IQ exceeds your shoe size…come back and talk…..

  4. Man up TinHat Boy…..Did you get kicked off of the peewee baseball league…Talk about diatribe….Gezee…Your momma must be proud…You have learned how to use a computer…She must be proud….Her Son is a successful failure….Quoting NotsoBriet….Is he Norwegian as well?

  5. Otteray Scribe, are you back with your unique brand of passive aggressive bullshit again? Why not just man-up and argue with me directly?

You will note that the primary source is actually Breivik’s manifesto with internal citations, mind you. Were you absent that day in forensics school?

As for the secondary source, Brietbart, as has been explained to you in detail dozens of times, that is an ad hominem. And this is a good example of why it is a logical fallacy since Brietbart is merely citing a primary source which is undoubtable true. Even your pea-brain should understand it by now.

@AY, sounds like that is coming from some bitter personal experience.

  6. I have read if you wrap a sieve in the non stick foil that that works better to filter out some of the voice….But it does not count if you stick your head in an oven or microwave….But I am sure you have tried it Trollbait….

  7. AY, that was an impressive copy and paste job just above your comment. And from that oh-so-reliable source, Andrew Breitbart. Andy who-makes-up-shit as he goes. If the facts don’t fit, make them up. If this were a courtroom, Andy would be disallowed to testify because of his past history of playing fast and loose with the truth. There is a legal term for that kind of thing. Now what is it? Starts with a “P” if I recall correctly.

What does that say about people who cite him as a source? Hmmmmm…..

  8. Breiik a Teabagger except for a bunch of things.

Not unsurprisingly, Breivik’s manifesto indicates he was enviro-friendly, oil-hating, overpopulation hating, Murdoch hating, capitalist hating, corporation nationalizer, rich hating, American foreign policy hating, and a non-religous christian. In other word’s he’s a typical lefty.

For those who would quibble that this is an untrustworthy source, his post consists of direct quotes from the manifesto with commentary– I repeat, direct quotes. I repeat them here with the blogger’s emphases.

    On the environment and energy

Getting around is necessary, oil is not. Considerable efforts should be made to further develop high-power Lithium-Ion batteries. The goal should be to aim for oil independence. This will not only save the environment; it will completely devastate many Muslim countries economically which will weaken the ongoing Islamic imperialism. (p. 1199)

All 2nd and 3rd world countries (where the average birth rate is above 2,1 [sic]) are to implement 1 child policies until their country is stabilised in regards to financial outlooks and overconsumption, saving their forests etc. This will both solve their poverty problem and result in drastic cuts in global pollution due to the fact that the population (consumer) explosion will be reversed. You cannot have any hope of reducing global pollution unless you focus on reducing the current population explosion in 2nd and 3rd world countries. Any country that does not comply will not receive any incentives (aid, development funding/loans, and trade import/export concessions). This approach can also be used for giving these countries incentives to stop them from cutting down their forests. (p. 1200)

For the last fifty years, the white race has arrogantly refused to obey these eternal laws and it will pay a heavy price unless it comes to realise the futility of continually fighting against Mother nature. King Canute realised it and other human races continue to realise it but whether or not the crack-brained Liberal-Multicultural disciples have the humility to realise their folly of battling with Mother nature is quite another matter.

But be in no doubt whatsoever that Mother nature will demand they pay the heaviest price for their arrogance and she will not care one iota if the entire white race has to pay too. Mother nature knows not pity as even self-righteous Liberal-Multiculturalists will find to their cost, you can be completely assured of that. (p. 399)

    On the media

The situation is similar in Western Europe. In the UK, News International (a company mostly owned by Rupert Murdoch) owns several newspapers (including The Times and The Sun), Sky Television (a major European satellite operator), Star Television (covering Asia) and publishers like Harper Collins.

In 1998, Rupert Murdoch owned 34% of the daily newspapers and 37% of the Sunday newspapers in the UK. Successive UK governments have allowed his empire to grow in return for his media’s support.
53% of UK newspaper and magazine distribution is controlled by just two companies, WH Smith and John Menzies.

Cross-media ownership and the fact that a small number of people own so many of our means of obtaining information is a threat as it institutionalises globalism and multiculturalism. (p. 381)

    On Corporations/ The Rich

All globalist companies will be nationalised (a minimum of 50,1% ownership must be redistributed to EF governments hands (combined) at any given time, for their respective countries). Investors with majority control who refuse this re-nationalisation process will have their respective corporation expelled from the European Federation monetary zone (losing trading concessions). Ensuring state control is the only way to avoid that globalist capitalist political lobby groups continue to negatively influence European policies relation to immigration and multiculturalism. (p. 1200)

I never thought I would actually argue against capitalism but the US model is an extreme variant, almost resembling a pure laissez faire model. 83 percent of all U.S. stocks are now in the hands of 1 percent of the people. 66 percent of the income growth between 2001 and 2007 went to the top 1% of all Americans. (p. 1223)

Is capitalism always a force for freedom? It is easy for “conservatives” to think so, but is it always true? (p. 403) [he then goes on to argue it isn’t]

    On American Foreign Policy

On page 1235, the manifesto lists their school of thought as being “Against excessive US cultural influence” and “Against US military bases/US military personnel on European soil.” … In this same section, the Manifesto supports Russian nationalism, as well as Chinese nationalism.
Reason 1: The reason [underlying America’s foreign policy] given by the USA, its media and its friends around the world. Reasons like Communism, Terrorism, Fascism, Human Rights, Freedom, Liberation, Weapons of Mass Destruction, etc.

Reason 2: The actual reason. This is usually hidden from the general public and has to be looked for in quotes by under-reported officials or subsequent events on the ground. Often, the victims of the intervention/change of government know the real reasons better than the populations of the Western countries. Real reasons are many but usually include Business Interests, Access to Resources, Markets, Military Bases, Strategic Value, or Political Support. (p. 1297)

Time will tell what the future brings. But we must be prepared for a potential US intervention and must somehow manage to get Russia to contribute as a guarantor. (p. 2045)

The globalists (lead [sic] by the US) want to preserve Europe as a stable market for their products. It is in their interest to prevent us from becoming truly sovereign. In reality this is called slavery. They want to keep us as slaves. (p. 2045)

On Christianity, true religion, and morality

The Judeo-Christian religions played an important and influential role in building the once mighty West but we also discovered that these religions contained a serious flaw that has sewed the seeds of the suicidal demise of the indigenous peoples of Western Europe and our cultures. This flaw was identified by the brilliant German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche who described it as “an inversion of morality” whereby the weak, the poor, the meek, the oppressed and the wretched are virtuous and blessed by God whereas the strong, the wealthy, the noble and the powerful are the immoral and damned by the vengeful almighty Yahweh for eternity. (p. 391)

Should any person have the temerity to criticise any one of these “victim” groups, they will be viciously smeared and deemed guilty of numerous hate-crimes, the new heresy of the Liberal-Multicultural religion. The plain fact that this situation is destroying the west because it flies in the face of Mother nature – a catastrophic mistake only the native Europeans are committing – matters not a jot to these new pious inquisitors. (p. 391)

I have been storing three bottles of Château Kirwan 1979 (French red wine) which I purchased at an auction 10 years ago with the intention of enjoying them at a very special occasion. Considering the fact that my martyrdom operation draws ever closer I decided to bring one to enjoy with my extended family…

It was an absolutely exquisite experience that will not be forgotten. My thought was to save the last flask for my last martyrdom celebration and enjoy it with the two high class model whores I intend to rent prior to the mission. My interpretation of being a “Perfect Knight” does not and should not include celibacy, although some of my KT peers might disagree with me on this point.

I believe that in order to strengthen the resolve, morale and motivation prior to a martyrdom operation, the Justiciar Knight should be encouraged to embrace and take advantage of a significant reward system designed to increase focus and remove any last doubts. A pragmatic approach, which involves acknowledging the primal aspects of man for the purpose of preparing him for a martyrdom operation, should always take precedence over misguided piety, which only increases the chance of jeopardizing the execution of the operation. And I believe the majority of war strategy analysts will agree with me on this. (p. 1434)

Had Charles Martel not been victorious at Poitiers -already, you see, the world had already fallen into the hands of the Jews, so gutless a thing Christianity! -then we should in all probability have been converted to Mohammedanism, that cult which glorifies the heroism and which opens up the seventh Heaven to the bold warrior alone. Then the Germanic races would have conquered the world. Christianity alone prevented them from doing so. [quoting Hitler’s Table Talk, by Adolf Hitler] (p. 231)

Today, [Christendom’s] pastors are the most fervent pleaders for the rights of Islam. Muslims in Europe are for them a substitute for the disappearing parish members. Separate Christian institutions, whose reason of existence is being questioned, find a new legitimacy in the fact that Islam in its turn is also opening separate schools, charities and even political parties. Islam has become a sister religion regularly praised as a religion of peace. (p. 48)
In the U.S., Christian fundamentalists and Islamic organisations are increasingly creating common platforms to speak out against trends of moral decay (abortion, pornography, etc.). Some of these phenomena of traditionalist alliance-building are quite respectable, but they are nevertheless conducive to Islam negationism. (p. 49)

I’m not going to pretend I’m a very religious person as that would be a lie. (p. 1344)

Myself and many more like me do not necessarily have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God. We do however believe in Christianity as a cultural, social, identity and moral platform. This makes us Christian. (p. 1307, 3.139)

If you want to fight for the cross and die under the “cross of the martyrs” it’s required that you are a practising Christian, a Christian agnostic or a Christian atheist (cultural Christian). The cultural factors are more important than your personal relationship with God, Jesus or the holy spirit. Even Odinists can fight with us or by our side as brothers in this fight as long as they accept the founding principles of PCCTS, Knights Templar and agree to fight under the cross of the martyrs. The essence of our struggle is to defeat the cultural Marxist/multiculturalist regimes of Western Europe before the we are completely demographically overwhelmed by Muslims. I have studied Norse Mythology and have a lot of respect for the Odinist traditions. I consider myself to be a Christian, but Odinism is still and will always be an important part of my culture and identity. (p. 1360)

As a cultural Christian, I believe Christendom is essential for cultural reasons. After all, Christianity is the ONLY cultural platform that can unite all Europeans, which will be needed in the coming period during the third expulsion of the Muslims. (p. 361)

The European cultural heritage, our norms (moral codes and social structures included), our traditions and our modern political systems are based on Christianity – Protestantism, Catholicism, Orthodox Christianity and the legacy of the European enlightenment (reason is the primary source and legitimacy for authority).

It is not required that you have a personal relationship with God or Jesus in order to fight for our Christian cultural heritage and the European way. In many ways, our modern societies and European secularism is a result of European Christendom and the enlightenment. It is therefore essential to understand the difference between a “Christian fundamentalist theocracy” (everything we do not want) and a secular European society based on our Christian cultural heritage (what we do want). (p. 361)

The PCCTS, Knights Templar [the name of his anti-Muslim school of thought) is therefore not a religious organisation but rather a Christian “culturalist” military order. (p. 361) [my emphasis]

There we have it. He clearly frames his opposition to “Marxism” in terms of “cultural Marxism”– that is, the equal validity of all ethnic and cultural groups’ values and practices– certainly not economic Marxism, which he eagerly espouses. In the same way, his use of “Christian” is in a purely cultural, not a religious sense. One’s relationship to Jesus, the Christ, is not a factor in his version of Christianity.

That must be why all the sappy commentary and gloating dried up on this thead.

  9. Anders Breivik, Stieg Larsson, and the Men with the Nazi Tattoos

    Excerpt:
Stieg Larsson is the best-known novelist of the past decade, his Millennium Trilogy read by tens of millions of people worldwide. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and its two successors are beloved for their thrilling plots and compelling title character. But Larsson also embedded in his novels the abiding cause of his life: his crusade against the far-right movements that he saw as the scourge of Scandinavia and a threat to modern European society. Yet this part of his message never quite got through. Instead, the world stood in shock this weekend as Norway fell victim to precisely the kind of extremist violence Larsson had warned about.

The trilogy that has been met with such an enthusiastic but curiously apolitical response was written by a consummately political man: Raised by a grandfather who had been imprisoned during World War II for his anti-Nazi views, Larsson was in his youth a member of the Communist Workers Party and editor, for a time, of the Swedish Trotskyist journal Fjarde Internationalen. He later became the Scandinavian correspondent of Searchlight, the British anti-fascist and anti-racist magazine, and in 1995, amid an uptick in neo-Nazi violence in Sweden, he founded its Swedish equivalent, Expo—the model for the Millennium magazine featured in his trilogy. In the US, both Expo and Searchlight have maintained ties with another group that tracks the far right, the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights. As an expert on the neo-Nazi movements, Larsson was once invited to lecture on the subject at Scotland Yard.

As Expo grew, the neo-Nazis in Sweden targeted it, threatening Larsson (who died in 2004) and his partner of 30 years, Eva Gabrielsson. According to Gabrielsson’s book, “There Are Things I Want You to Know” About Stieg Larsson and Me, both of them were placed on hit lists and were in enough danger to barricade their apartment doors and arrange for special police protection. “Stieg would receive bullets in the mail, and once someone was waiting for him outside the entrance of the TT building [where he worked]. Warned in time, Stieg slipped out a back door,” Gabrielsson writes.

“Our answering machine was set permanently on ‘record’ to keep evidence of the threats we received,” she continues, “and they were always in the same vein: ‘Piece of shit, you Jew-fucker…Traitor, we’ll tear you apart…and we know where you live.'” At the sign of the slightest provocation on their apartment block, police cars would descend on the street. The danger was undeniably real: Two journalists who once worked for Expo and were later employed by Aftonbladet, one of Sweden’s largest newspapers, wrote an expose of the neo-Nazi black-metal music operations. One of them was seriously injured when his car was bombed. A labor union leader who revealed neo-Nazi names was shot dead.

  10. On Friday, after setting off a massive explosion in downtown Oslo, a gunman walked into a youth camp disguised as a policeman and used a semi-automatic rifle and a Glock pistol to gun down everyone in his path. According to the latest reports, the death toll has reached as many as 76 people, many just children.

It is a gruesome, senseless tragedy and our hearts go out to the victims and families whose lives have been shattered overnight.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a coalition of mayors determined to stand up for the victims of gun violence in our communities. Join us in standing with those who lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy, and we will make sure your message is delivered to the Norwegian embassy.

Send a message of condolence to those affected by the terrorist attack in Norway.

This terror attack was perpetrated by a self-proclaimed anti-immigrant, anti-Islamic “crusader.” But the truth is, his views don’t matter.

Regardless of motivation, when terrorists and other dangerous individuals can get their hands on guns and explosives, the inevitable result will be grief and suffering. And Friday’s tragedy should remind us of the changing face of this threat.

Today, we want to send our prayers and messages of solidarity to all of Norway so they know that the world is standing with them. We mourn their losses.

Please join us in sending a message of sympathy to the victims’ families:

    Mayors Against Illegal Guns

P.S. Norwegian consulates in Houston, New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco are opening their doors on Tuesday and Wednesday to those who wish to sign a book of condolences. Get the latest and find out the locations and times.

  11. Glenn Beck was just forced off of Fox News, but his hate-filled rhetoric continues to rear its ugly head on the radio.

With cruel disregard for the innocent victims of the Norway shooting, Beck said the youth camp that was attacked “sounds a little like the Hitler Youth.” And if that baseless comparison wasn’t disturbing enough once, he went on to make it a second time. It’s shameful and disgusting. But most of all, it’s intolerable.

Beck may not be on TV any more, but Americans are still not safe from his brand of hate-filled right-wing propaganda. He’s still leveling vicious attacks on innocent victims, and sowing seeds of bigotry and hate in our country with his despicable and disgusting rants. His advertisers on Fox News didn’t want to be associated with him, and he left Fox amid declining ad revenue, social relevance, and television ratings. But we need to make sure that there is accountability for the lies and reckless vitriol that Beck poisons our radio airwaves with, too.

Since the beginning of the year, eight radio stations have made the prudent business decision to drop Glenn Beck’s show from their lineup. This is good, but we’ve got more work to do.

Call on Glenn Beck’s radio affiliates to hold him accountable.
We’ll take your signatures to station managers at key stations and let them know how deep the American outrage is over Beck’s statements.

In pathetically typical fashion, Beck didn’t turn around and offer an apology or clarification–or even address his comments– on his next show. Instead, he said that if we can’t use Hitler analogies in “logical conversation” then “we are going to be a society of gas chambers.”

If Glenn Beck doesn’t even have the compassion to respectfully discuss the deaths of teenagers at a youth camp, he’s not going to listen to our pleas for reason or commonsense decency.

So, we’ll hit him where it hurts — his advertising dollars. Tell advertisers to drop Glenn Beck.

Hold Glenn Beck accountable. Tell the radio stations Beck’s brand of vitriol is not acceptable.
Getting Glenn Beck off television and relegating him to radio was a critical first step. But it’s clearly not enough. We’ve got to keep pushing to make sure this mean-spirited venom doesn’t spread any further.

    Thanks for all you do,

  12. Eniobob & Elaine,

Buchanan is also anti-Jewish, or anti-Semitic as his good friend William F. Buckley called him. What strikes me as worst is the idiocy of the Jerusalem Post. How in hell can they condone this man on any level? The murder of innocent campers can not be perceived, or dignified as in any way making a valid political statement. The man is a monster, crazy or both. end of story, no matter what his ideals or beliefs. Monstrosity should not be given the least shred of dignity, lest one becomes a monster themselves.

  13. Mrs.M
Turned on TV ,changed channel right away for Buchanan happened to be giving his advice on what ever they were about to talk about.

From your post, this IMHO is his resume.

“Of course, Muslims are just the most recent group of people on Buchanan’s enemies list, which already includes Latinos, African-Americans, and gay people. As Buchanan said, he “prefers the old bigotry.” And he’s bringing it back to the mainstream.”
