Prominent Saudi cleric Salman Al-Odeh is reportedly shown in this video not just questioning the scope of the Holocaust but repeating the ancient anti-Semitic “blood libel” claim that Jews drink the blood of children. This story is based on a translation supplied by a couple of sites and cannot be verified by this blog. Perhaps one of our readers can address its accuracy.
Salman Al-Odeh a leading “scholar” reportedly explains how “the role of the Jews is to wreak destruction, to wage war, and to practice deception and extortion.” He is then translated saying that
“It is well known that the Jews celebrate several holidays, one of which is the Passover, or the matzos holiday. I read once about a doctor who was working in a laboratory. This doctor lived with a Jewish family. One day, they said to him: ‘We want blood. Get us some human blood.’ He was confused. He didn’t know what this was all about,” Al-Odeh says as the interviewer nods along. “He found that they were making matzos with human blood. They eat it, believing that this brings them close to their false god, Yahweh.”
He is quoted as adding that the Jewish people “would lure a child in order to sacrifice him in the religious rite that they perform during that holiday.” Here is an idea. Why not identify the doctor who can identify the alleged perpetrators? Clearly, neither the cleric nor the doctor want to protect the alleged culprit. We can then prove to the world that this blood libel is nothing more than a knowing falsehood perpetrated by anti-Semites.
If the translation is accurate, it is a truly shocking display of raw anti-Semitism and ignorance — even for part of the world known for extremism.

When you start with a world view that might makes right and there can be no dissenting opinions and beliefs.
Where only the rule of the scimitar and suicide-bomb hold.
Where your world view is so distorted, ugly and inhumane that women are nothing but chattel slaves and children may be used as weapons for a “higher good.”
You are dealing with a people and their (so-called) religion where any calumny can ring true because they are mere faded reflections of their own sick and perverse beliefs.
If your world view is paranoid and horrific to begin with you can believe any disgusting thing about other people.
Cash, what good is that except it will buy you the big seat in the Oval?
All,
Bibi is incredible. Only bettered by Obama. Start a nuke attack on Iran? Hey, man. We have had two holocausts: Hiroshima/Nagasaki and yours. And you are what?
The man who will go down in history if anybody is left to write it.
Power or the hope of it does strange things. Not unique words, but worth repeating.
Mslisha,
Sharp as a laser beam, and pointed at the right problem.
Matt,
Better count on the air force in which case. ’cause the ships are just hostages standing with nooses around their necks. Iran has missiles aimed at them.
And fix the dead count (ours) in Iraq and Afghanistan while you are kicking ass. Dreams. Roar on testerone jackarsse.
Use your intelligent brain half, ol’ buddy. You promised to try. Don’t get spooked. You should have seen my dreams last night. I stood on a molehill which was jealous of the hill beside it and it grew up to be a small alp. Precipitous! I clung to it and said: “Now I know I’m dreaming.” Are you experiencing those at times?
Mike,
What do you predict if Romney wins?
Matt,
Riiiiight. They’ll probably greet us with flowers – just like in Iraq.
Mike S, yes, Mike S, yes yes.
Proxy wars are the stuff of the Middle East political life. As such, they cannot end because the “Let’s you and him fight” is a renewable resource.
I was born Cristian Protestant. I’m agnostic.
The United States can wipe Iran off the face of the planet if it wants to. Bibi (Israel) is dead without U.S. support. That isn’t a debate.
The U.S. hasn’t forgotten the Iranian hostage situation. They’re lucky they aren’t dead already.
The Saudis and Iraqis are afraid of Iran. The U.S. can kick Iran’s a**. The Israeli’s can’t do it and the Russians can’t do anything about it. If the U.S decides they want to kill Iran, they’re dead.
It won’t take a ground invasion. The Navy and Air Force can do it. Put the proper type of warheads on the cruise missiles. Nuff said?
Curious,
Part of the reason I want Israel independent of the US is because the whole desire to attack Iran comes from the Saudi’s influencing the US to utilize the Israelis as a catspaw vis. Iran. The Israelis would never attack Iran on their own because of the troop disparity. However, if Bibi, the right wing fool, believes US troops would follow, it gives him the impetus. None too smart Bibi is being led by the Republican/Jewish Billionaires to believe the US has his back. Take the US out of the Israeli equation and Bibi is toast.
Then perhaps peace can be achieved.
ID707,
Pappy got thralled by the cash.
Another point about Israel going “alone”. What is a realistic estimate of IDF losses? Israel counts VERY carefully. Cannon fodder does not exist over there – nor does collateral damage. Each loss is huge. And Iran will not be a Six-Day war. Iran will be a land war and make Lebanon look like a Sunday picnic.
MikeS,
How did Pappy get to be a feudal thrall (?) to the Saudis? You read the book you recommended to us all.
I thought that we just use leaders as objects to be paid and to lead their throngs. They can’t blow it up and we can take it over as our 51st state.
So how enthralling is our thrallship? And why?
Scary Gene
lol
Thanks! But rest assured, Curious, I try to use my powers only for good.
Mike,
I was worried about your response. I shouldn’t have been. But I do disagree on one major point. Israel can’t do Iran alone and I think they know that. Iran would be one BIG motherphucker. And I’ll throw in one thing that even Scary Gene didn’t mention…… Iran will blow big and Russia will not just sit around planning trials for rock groups.
Jesus, Gene. You’re one scary guy.
I agree Romney wants war. But I was hopeful that this time we wouldn’t go along. Twelve years of war is enough – even for us. Too many dead, too many needing lots of care, economy too weak, deficit too big, NO europeans will join any “collition of the stupid”, we STILL wouldn’t pay for it, Tagg and the rest of the boys too conspicuous as non-participants, and some Americans might actually look at a map and see Iran as VERY big. But the wild card are the Israelis. Those crazy phuckers want Iran gone.
Gene,
It “said” nothing. It just didn’t post. I’ll try again.
Regarding blog postings here and elsewhere: If I write something really long, I copy it to the clipboard before hitting the “post” button. I don’t bother doing that with short, one-line comments. If the intertoobs eat my comment, then all I have to do is paste it back in the comment box and try again. A couple of times I have had WordPress tell me I have already said that, and I discover the comment actually posted while I was re-composing.
The mysteries of WordPress are many in my experience.
When you are excerpting text, it can at times be hard to see the links as they are not obviously marked. But the moderation awaiting displayed copy will have them clearly marked.
Other times a comment will just disappaar on touching the wrong keys, which and what to do to get it back is still a mystery. My second versions are better than my first ones.
Some consolation.
Curious,
And sometimes, like this time, WordPress will simply eat a posting or send it into the nebulous ether. Your response wasn’t in either of the filters. Sorry, but it looks like a do over, Curious. Just out of – pardon the turn of phrase – curiosity, did WordPress tell you the comment was awaiting moderation or did the comment just never appear without any kind of notice?
