Lubbock County Judge Tom Head is opposed to the reelection of Barack Obama but does not simply confined his objections to unemployment or civil liberties or those mundane political concerns. Head has called for a tax increase to prepare for “civil war” if Obama is elected. He insists that Obama is planning to turn over the United States to the United Nations in this second term. He wants to prepare Lubbock for the invasion of United Nations troops as well as the riots and demonstrations that are likely to occur following the reelection of Obama.
Head wants a tax increase to raise money to “beef up” resources to prepare for what is coming: “He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the U.S. to the United Nations, what’s going to happen when that happens? . . . I’m thinking worse case scenario,” Judge Head explained. “Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe…we’re not just talking a few riots or demonstrations.”
What concerns Head the most is the quality of the guys behind him watching his back on the ramparts: “I don’t want rookies. I want trained, equip and seasoned veteran officers to back me.”
This reminds me of another great American character, Russ Cargill from the The Simpson’s Movie:
RUSS CARGILL:
Damn it! Well, then you find ’em, and you get ’em back in the dome! And to make sure nobody else gets out, I want roving death squads around the perimeter 24-7! I want 10,000 tough guys, and I want 10,000 soft guys to make the tough guys look tougher! And here’s how I want them arranged: tough, soft, tough, tough, soft, tough, soft, soft, tough, tough, soft, soft, tough, soft, tough, soft!
EPA SOLDIER
Sir, I’m afraid you’ve gone mad with power.
RUSS CARGILL
Of course I have! Have you ever tried going mad without power? It’s boring, no one listens to you!
Head’s campaign bio says that he is a graduate of Texas Tech University. A former police officer in Lubbock, he seems to have a particular interest in emergency planning:
Chair of the L.E.P.C. (Local Emergency Planning Committee) from 2000 to present
Past Chair of S.P.A.G (South Plains Association of Government) Law Enforcement Advisory Committee
S.P.A.G. Board member from 1999 to present
E.R.A.C. (Emergency Response Advisory Coordination) member.
Director of the M.A.C. (Multi Agency Coordination) Group concerning Homeland Security
Homeland Security training in:
I.C.S. (Incident Command System)
N.I.M.S. (National Incident Management System)
Serve as Observer/Controller for N.E.R.R.T.C. (the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center) through Texas A&M University
What is most disconcerting is the thought that Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon is sitting there planning the attack on Lubbock and yet no one but Judge Head is doing a thing to stop him. What will it take before we rise to Head’s siren’s call? Kimchi on the menu of the public schools or, worse yet, European soccer replacing American football on the high school fields? I am with Head on this one. I had a case in Lubbock and those jack-booted U.N. thugs are not coming to town to visit the National Ranching Center.
In the meantime, it is comforting to know that Judge Head will be meting out justice as he prepares for the apocalyptic invasion of the Obama-led U.N. zombie army.
Does that fertilized egg have government issued i.d.?
If a man has intercourse with a pregnant woman, is he committing child sexual abuse to the full grown person inside her?
By the way, about Judge Head not being fit to sit on the Judiciary — quoting Gene H: “A guy as irrational and ignorant as Head? Has no business being a member of the judiciary. Then again, he is in Texas.” Jeez, I have heard a Virginia judge (well respected, elected by lawyers as one of the 500 best lawyers in America!) quote Neville Chamberlain in his opinion showing that he has decided to appease a litigant; opine that a group is not “a religion” if they worship trees; and offer to issue a new bench warrant for a crime, if the old one expired, by saying, “In my opinion it is a continuing crime” when the “crime” alleged was not on the books in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Judge Head is probably what I would call TYPICAL, not at all out of the ordinary. As long as these judges are not doing anything to powerful people like professors or presidents, they can do any stupid, outrageous, illegal, unlawful, atrocious, bullying, dishonest thing they want; hardly anybody can afford an appeal and those appeals they DO bring are not evaluated properly anyway.
GeneH,
That is also true, that it seems to be confined to specific areas, like Pavlovian dogs. They don’t react to pine cones or beaten drums.
However you say:
“My father is perfectly rational on many other subjects.” I feel compelled, for the sake of repartée to answer, yes but mostly those where his son gives him answers to oppose perhaps.
My mind seems to be full of fallacies. Like Einstein did, I am thinking of donating it to science.
Such magnimity they would say.
Hot at all, it never was much good, and I won’t be using it then.
I wonder… How long before mental delusions, such as this, turn into physical attacks?
How long ago was it that 10 Al Qaida-esque individuals were sitting around a campfire and 2 of them were spouting similar rhetoric while the other 8 blew them off as nutbags?
Otteray,
How did I miss that story?
An excerpt from the article:
Szabo is running as a Republican for Hillsborough County Sheriff. But he injected a new issue in the debate when he sent out a press release saying he would arrest anyone performing an abortion.
He took it a step further when asked how far he’d go to stop one.
“Deadly force is the last thing law enforcement should be using, if a citizen’s life is in danger they should be protected,” says Szabo. “If there is no other choice, that’s what’s needed to protect the citizen.”
*****
Is abortion illegal in New Hampshire?????
Deadly force? Does he suggest using deadly force against pregnant women?
*****
“He [Szabo] says there is no difference between a fertilized egg and a full grown person.”
He probably meant to say “a full-grown woman.”
There was some talk of the Arab civilization, its Golden phase, and the rise and fall of civilizations and our relative movement now. Kinda summarizes indirectly the totality of our multilemmas domestically. Although it emcompasses foreign matters as said below.
Well another recent phrase mentioned our “manifest destiny” legend and its invalidity, but it is used by some as the inevitable reason for our foreign policy.
Well, the two might be intertwined, in that our “destiny” has been one of exploitation of our own continent, while invading commercially (if not militarily) other parts of the world. (Military invasions other places have seldom benefited the nation, only its rich.)
Now that tactic seems to be at a dead end—although
our strategy of military expansion in preparation for making us one of the final players is fully on the march in the Pacific and ME sectors.
World resources are ending. There is little left to exploit. Science has its limitations, as does unbridled corporate practicing of “free trade” (read slave labor). Govenmwnt for and by the people does not exist and we are not educated to exercize our reign if we had it (civics classes, remember?).
The natives are watching TV or are restlessly reading at JT’s.
Check back in, in a century or two, if you can.
I have no sooths to say.
Gene H:
“Recent changes in Mexico now give their citizens nearly universal health care coverage.”
*******************
Ah, those backward Third World countries.
Full medical coverage for all? Do they have demoocracy too? Who else will leave us in the dust next?
Like someone said: They have their own political party now.
And as I said before: Why do you wonder wy the rest of the world regards us with wonder and fear. “What will these nuts led by terrorists do next?”
Teh crazee is not limited to Texas. It has infected New Hampshire as well. Frank Szabo, the Republican (of course) candidate for sheriff of Hillsborough County in New Hampshire said he is be willing to use deadly force to prevent a woman from terminating her pregnancy. Szabo claims the sheriff has some kind of secret powers under the Constitution that allows him to violate Constitutional protections if he sees the need. He says there is no difference between a fertilized egg and a full grown person.
If that is the Republican ideal, where is the universal health care for full grown people, and why are there homeless people on the street?

id707,
Do not make the mistake of the fallacy of composition. My father is perfectly rational on many other subjects. Most, in fact. His understanding of the law and politics, especially at an international level, has always been wobbly. Like many men of his generation, a steady diet of American exceptionalism eroded his ability to think critically about the subjects.
Good comments all.
GeneH, since you took up your personal case, my condolences. The death of a mind, whatever age it occurs at, is a matter of grief, especially when the body survives. I have friends with many relatives in that condition.
“What is most disconcerting is the thought that Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon is sitting there planning the attack on Lubbock and yet no one but Judge Head is doing a thing to stop him.”
Karl Rove has had an impact on a lot of republican thinking too:
(NeoCon Planet). The problem with Head and Rove is that their “reality” will fit inside a pup tent.
Nothing quite like a man with power over the lives of others who suffers from delusions. Very becoming, y’all.
MM,
Recent changes in Mexico now give their citizens nearly universal health care coverage. If Texas seceded? There would be no reunion. They’d declare war on those filthy Reds! How dare they work in the best interest of their citizens instead of protecting the profits of drug makers and insurance companies!
No Civil War will erupt should Texas decide to secede from the Union again. This time, I have no doubt, the rest of the civilized nation will simply breathe a sigh of relief and let Mexico have the territory back. That way, impoverished raped Texan women won’t have to cross international borders to obtain their abortion-inducing drugs.
Repel enemy insurrection….. Treason….. Comes to mind….
What has Head’s Local Emergency Planning Committee done to prepare Lubbock for the looming Zombie Apocalypse? — oops, too late,
These nutbags have been around forever. I ran into my first one back in the early 60s. They are sick and twisted and deserve better mental health treatment.
What has changed in the last few years is that they now have a 24 hour stream of nutbag fertilizer disguised as radio talk/news and their own 24 hour cable ‘news’ network watering the crazy. Finally they have their own political party which has fully embraced the nutbag mindset and elevated it to stand as equal to rational thought. The nation, and the entire world, is much much poorer for it.
I’d like to laugh but these nutbags are killing us so that I find no humor in it any more.
This line of thought must be some kind of pathogen. I hate to admit it, but my very own father has trotted out the U.N. invasion theory on me before although he didn’t link it specifically to Obama. I pointed out the flaws in his reasoning and informed him of the obvious blank areas in his understanding of what the U.N. is and how it works in relation to armed deployment and that they have no military except what member states – including the U.S. – contribute. I explained how the Security Council works. I further added that any attempt at invasion would come from a coalition of nations (much like the Allies or Axis of WWII) if it were to come about and that the U.N.’s role (if any) in such a situation would be in brokering and monitoring a cease fire through the use of multinational forces derived from the various member states. His response?
He got mad at me and doubled down.
Ron White says, “You can’t fix stupid.” In some cases, it is apparent that you can’t fix irrational and willing to ignore evidence either.
A guy as irrational and ignorant as Head? Has no business being a member of the judiciary. Then again, he is in Texas. I’m starting to think irrational and ignorant are prime job qualifications in both politics and law enforcement in that state.
Pfffft. He’s clearly certifiable. Head must know that Obama couldn’t get that through the Senate because it would be filibustered.
