Lubbock County Judge Tom Head is opposed to the reelection of Barack Obama but does not simply confined his objections to unemployment or civil liberties or those mundane political concerns. Head has called for a tax increase to prepare for “civil war” if Obama is elected. He insists that Obama is planning to turn over the United States to the United Nations in this second term. He wants to prepare Lubbock for the invasion of United Nations troops as well as the riots and demonstrations that are likely to occur following the reelection of Obama.
Head wants a tax increase to raise money to “beef up” resources to prepare for what is coming: “He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the U.S. to the United Nations, what’s going to happen when that happens? . . . I’m thinking worse case scenario,” Judge Head explained. “Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe…we’re not just talking a few riots or demonstrations.”
What concerns Head the most is the quality of the guys behind him watching his back on the ramparts: “I don’t want rookies. I want trained, equip and seasoned veteran officers to back me.”
This reminds me of another great American character, Russ Cargill from the The Simpson’s Movie:
RUSS CARGILL:
Damn it! Well, then you find ’em, and you get ’em back in the dome! And to make sure nobody else gets out, I want roving death squads around the perimeter 24-7! I want 10,000 tough guys, and I want 10,000 soft guys to make the tough guys look tougher! And here’s how I want them arranged: tough, soft, tough, tough, soft, tough, soft, soft, tough, tough, soft, soft, tough, soft, tough, soft!
EPA SOLDIER
Sir, I’m afraid you’ve gone mad with power.
RUSS CARGILL
Of course I have! Have you ever tried going mad without power? It’s boring, no one listens to you!
Head’s campaign bio says that he is a graduate of Texas Tech University. A former police officer in Lubbock, he seems to have a particular interest in emergency planning:
Chair of the L.E.P.C. (Local Emergency Planning Committee) from 2000 to present
Past Chair of S.P.A.G (South Plains Association of Government) Law Enforcement Advisory Committee
S.P.A.G. Board member from 1999 to present
E.R.A.C. (Emergency Response Advisory Coordination) member.
Director of the M.A.C. (Multi Agency Coordination) Group concerning Homeland Security
Homeland Security training in:
I.C.S. (Incident Command System)
N.I.M.S. (National Incident Management System)
Serve as Observer/Controller for N.E.R.R.T.C. (the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center) through Texas A&M University
What is most disconcerting is the thought that Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon is sitting there planning the attack on Lubbock and yet no one but Judge Head is doing a thing to stop him. What will it take before we rise to Head’s siren’s call? Kimchi on the menu of the public schools or, worse yet, European soccer replacing American football on the high school fields? I am with Head on this one. I had a case in Lubbock and those jack-booted U.N. thugs are not coming to town to visit the National Ranching Center.
In the meantime, it is comforting to know that Judge Head will be meting out justice as he prepares for the apocalyptic invasion of the Obama-led U.N. zombie army.

id707,
“Are you suffering from the reading problem I accused others of?”
I really doubt it. However, the real question is do you understand the words you use and that even by way of excuse and semi-apology you are using words of confrontation?
repartée \ˌre-pər-ˈtē, -ˌpär-, -ˈtā\, n.,
1a : a quick and witty reply b : a succession or interchange of clever retorts : amusing and usually light sparring with words
2: adroitness and cleverness in reply : skill in repartee
If you want to talk about my family? Even when I’ve introduced the subject? I’ll make any damn clarification I want. If that presents a problem for you? Keep your “witty replies” about them – serious, jesting or otherwise – to yourself. I reserve the right to clear up any misconception someone may have or misrepresentation they may make in that area regardless of their intention. It’s part of that whole interchange and light sparring process.
GeneH,
Are you suffering from the reading problem I accused others of?
““I feel compelled, for the sake of repartée to answer, yes but mostly those where his son gives him answers to oppose perhaps.”
A bad assumption on your part, id707.”…….
————————-
Did you not see and understand what I wrote?:
“…for the sake of repartée to answer….”
There was therefore no seriousness intended. On the contrary.
I would simply for the sake of principle NOT suggest such a dysfunction existing in your family.
That is an obvious no-no which I understand well.
Thanks Eric,
…….not that I love ANY state, but…..
It gets lonely here defending those not present from stupid attacks. Some gave me an answer, most don’t bother. They are comfortable with their prejudices and sweeping judgements.
Not to make heroes out of us, but it is sad to see such from “reasonable people” at this blog.
I guess we all have such days. Just that some do every day.
To Michael Murry – Michael, stereotyping any entire group leads to very wrong conclusions. I have lived in Texas for over 20 years. I have never met anyone who believes what Judge Head believes. While it is true that this state is not a swing state and leans conservative, even if 50 to 60 percent of the folks who live hear are “very conservative”, that leaves an awful lot of us who are not. I was not born her, but I stayed here for many reasons, including the very large number of people I have met who are extremely loving and kind and will “give the shirt off their back” to someone in need.
About 2/3 through article is a listing of Head’s “emergency preparedness” credentials. I’m all for preparedness – I’m a Disaster Response Chaplain who keeps a personal preparedness kit in the house and my rapid response bag packed if I’m called – but there is another breed in this field: The crisis junkie who needs to convince a bunch of folks that THERE REALLY IS A CRISIS!!! YEAH, REALLY!!!!! in order to validate their existence. These folks have become hooked on the neuro-physiological cascade of crisis response to the point where they feel – not just irrelevant, but – like they are >dying< without the rush of being "on the brink".
BTW: At rallies for GW Bush in 2008, people were detained by Secret Service for wearing t-shirts with less provocative statements than what Head has spouted here.
This is great timing with the Mizzura idiot getting the headlines. Let’s just hope we can build up the womens’ frenzy. Help them fully realize the danger these pols are to them. “GOD” help us, the Republicans won’t.
“Attorney Rod Hobson jokingly put up U.N. flags outside his Lubbock office, KJTV reported. “When I saw the story I thought, once again, Lubbock is going to be the laughingstock of the entire nation,” said Hobson. “What makes it so sad is he is our elected county judge, who is in charge of a multi-million dollar budget. That is scary. It’s like the light’s on, but no one is home… I’d just like to think he’s off his meds.”
Judge Tom Head: His Poor Impulse Control Is A Painful Embarassment for Lubbock

Excerpt:
Lubbock, Texas made the news today in Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, New York, most major news outlets and was even mentioned by a blogger in Sweden. Unfortunately, it wasn’t something of which we could be proud.
Unless you’ve been residing in a cave, you’ve read Lubbock County Judge Tom Head’s unfortunate remarks made in a Fox News interview on August 21. In a justification for raising the tax rate, he wandered off into a diatribe of fantasy. Rather than misquote him or take his words out of context (as he claimed in his non mea culpa rebuttal to the media on Wednesday), I’ll quote directly from the article/video:
“Judge Head said he and the county must be prepared for many contingencies, one that he particularly fears, if President Obama is reelected.
From Judge Head: “He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the UN, and what is going to happen when that happens? I’m thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy. Now what’s going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He’s going to send in U.N. troops. I don’t want ’em in Lubbock County. OK. So I’m going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say ‘you’re not coming in here’. And the Sheriff, I’ve already asked him, I said ‘you gonna back me’ he said, ‘yeah, I’ll back you’. Well, I don’t want a bunch of rookies back there. I want trained, equipped, seasoned veteran officers to back me.”
He paints an imaginary dystopian scenario of Lubbock, Texas as Tiananmen Square with himself, the Judge Hero, standing in front of the tanks. No, it’s not a satire from The Onion; he really said it and meant it. It gets worse. He used his “flights of fancy” as a justification for a county tax increase; a terrifying scenario sure to frighten even the most lucid thinker into supporting the tax increase. His rationalization was a retread of the tired and trite WMD argument used by the Bush administration in 2002; remember the smoking gun in shape of a mushroom cloud?
Judge Head can protest all he likes, but his words border on sedition, the incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government. In the interview, he spoke of creating a militia to fight against our government. Those were foolish words.
Judge Head seems to be a magnet for controversy. You might remember that in 2009, he was in political hot water about offensive pictures and emails he posted on a public bulletin board in the Lubbock County Courthouse. One of the posters showed nine arrest photos of people wearing Obama t-shirts, accompanied by the text:
“Did you ever see anyone arrested wearing a Bush T-shirt, or for you older folks, an Eisenhower? Gerald Ford? Ronald Reagan? even Nixon? or any political t-shirt? There MUST be a message here, but I can’t quite grasp it, or maybe I’m afraid to.”
Above the pictures, a fake narration of a person waking up, putting on an Obama t-shirt, holding up a convenience store, buying drugs, and beating his wife. There were other articles, pictures and emails, including one that disparaged Justice Sotomayor; the entire collection consumed nearly all the available space on the board and all of it posted by Judge Tom Head.
Mike,
The difference between the two parties is certainly clear when it comes to women’s health and women’s rights.
For those who believe there is no difference twixt the two parties, re-read this blog and the subsequent comments. This is a watershed election between the hope that we will be able to change things in the near future and the certainty that we will be locked up, or worse in the future. We are indeed living within a Corporatocracy, the question is then whether our Masters believe they ca institute full theocratic plutocracy with impunity, or still await further increase in their control.
The entire UN Forces couldn’t take over the southside of Chicago.
Szabo, the Republican (of course) candidate for sheriff of Hillsborough County in New Hampshire said he is be willing to use deadly force to prevent a woman from terminating her pregnancy.

I’m guessing he flunked biology…..
The bizarre right-wing crazy just keeps rolling along. Never could they reconcile a black man as President. Probably would have behaved the same way if Hillary had been elected. They canna tear themselves from power and they haven’t enough faith to weild it without harm….

Elaine,
“He [Szabo] says there is no difference between a fertilized egg and a full grown person.”
He probably meant to say “a full-grown woman.”
—————-
Are you sure? Given his mentality, I suspect he really meant a “full-grown man”. Considering he is willing to use deadly force against a pregnant woman, I don’t see him giving much respect to a female fetus.

re: secession of TX to Mexico. Secede, yes. To Mexico, not so sure. I don’t think Mexico especially wants it back.
JCT,
You give the Afghans too much credit. They need no reason to shoot. They do it for the noise and the pleasure of it. Like boys with firecrackers.
“I feel compelled, for the sake of repartée to answer, yes but mostly those where his son gives him answers to oppose perhaps.”
A bad assumption on your part, id707. There are many subjects we disagree on, but not on all of them is he irrational. Disagreement and irrationality are not mutually inclusive sets. Someone is irrational because they are irrational. Someone disagrees because they disagree. Whether their disagreement is rational or not is subject to the laws of logic and reasoning and not inherently dependent upon agreement or disagreement.
Among Mr. Head’s duties as Lubbock County Judge, as listed on that county’s website is:
“Conducts mental competency hearings and other mental health related duties prescribed by law”
Only in Texas.
