Sen. Lindsey Graham (R. S.C.) is always good for a sound bite (though civil libertarians are still smarting from “free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war.”). Now Graham has identified the greatest threat to the GOP: the declining numbers of “angry white guys.”
Graham told the Washington Post that “The demographics race we’re losing badly. We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.”
It is not clear if this is a decline in white males alone or whether the demographic decline of whites (including white men) has been magnified by the decline in anger among white men. There is also the seasonal aspect of anger to fit into the calculation. For example, I tend to get very angry when the Chicago Bears play the Green Bay Packers. Indeed, if the calculation is based on raw anger levels instead of individual angry men, I could easily make up for reduced numbers of males when the Packers prevail against God’s team. (Of course, with Romney’s selection of a die-hard Packers fan for his Vice Presidential candidate, my anger issues are unlikely to be addressed by the current ticket).
The key is to reach angry men at offices and funnel that anger from common anger producing objects like computers to President Obama with slogans like “Obama Jams Copiers”:
Or “Obama Built That (Computer)”:
Or “she was talking to Obama”:

most of the angry white guys have turned pyschotic, the rest have turned into lindsey graham
These comments are real deep. Joe Biden comes to mind. Like what politician doesn’t provide such fodder?
that all important 3am slot?
I guess it’s progress of a sort when all 12 Black Republicans are given the opportunity to speak at the Republican National Convention.

Mitt Romney Campaign Bans Small Vendors From Republican National Convention

Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign has banned small vendors from setting up shop at the 2012 Republican National Convention, CBS San Francisco (KCBS) reported on Thursday.
In order to maintain control over all official campaign souvenirs, the Romney-Ryan campaign has barred small vendors from selling campaign buttons and other political souvenirs at the RNC, KCBS found. As a result, small vendors are “are conspicuously absent” from the convention, the news outlet reported.
Robin Abrams of Irvine, Calif., has been forced to sell campaign buttons at a hotel 30 miles away from the RNC, KCBS reported. In contrast, the Democratic National Convention next week will allow small vendors to sell political souvenirs, according to KCBS.
The Republican Party has been touting its support of small businesses throughout the RNC. The official theme of the first night of the convention was “We Built It” in order to present a contrast to “You didn’t build that,” a quote by President Barack Obama that has been used out of context by Republicans to highlight the importance of small business development independent from government intervention.
Some Republicans have used the Obama quote to brand the president as secretly anti-capitalist. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), the Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee, wrote in July that Obama believes that “the nucleus of society and the economy is government not the people.”
Media outlets have moved to point out alleged hypocrisy in the GOP’s choices for spokespeople for the “We Built It” campaign. Two small business owners who spoke at the RNC on behalf of the Republican Party’s “We Built It” campaign actually benefited from government contracts, government loans, or both.
Thanks Elaine. Disgusting incident.

CNN Camerawoman: Peanut-Throwing Incident At Republican Convention A ‘Wake-Up Call’
8/30/12
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/30/cnn-camerawoman-peanuts-rnc_n_1843576.html
Excerpts:
The CNN camerawoman who was pelted with peanuts by attendees at the Republican National Convention said that the incident was disheartening, and that it should serve as a wake-up call to black people.
“I hate that it happened, but I’m not surprised at all,” Patricia Carroll said to Journal-isms. “This is Florida, and I’m from the Deep South. You come to places like this, you can count the black people on your hand. They see us doing things they don’t think I should do.”
*****
Carroll went on:
“I can’t change these people’s hearts and minds,” Carroll added. “No, it doesn’t feel good. But I know who I am. I’m a proud black woman. A lot of black people are upset. This should be a wake-up call to black people. … People were living in euphoria for a while. People think we’re gone further than we have.”
She noted that there weren’t many black women at the convention. The whiteness of the Republican convention has been noted by many commentators, and has spawned the facetious Twitter hashtag #negrospotting.
I think the problem demonstrated by these videos is too much arm motion and flailing about instead centering their Ki, getting their entire body in motion and aligned for application of the force to a single point.
Of course when it comes to the problem of not enough angry white guys, part of the problem is too many angry white guys clinging to their guns and shooting at each other.
Two three-judge courts in D.C. threw out Texas’ Voter ID law and redistricting of the angry white men.
The angry white men’s lawyers and the angry white men’s Voter ID law of Texas did not pass muster:
(Texas v Holder, Opinion, PDF). The white angry men of the Texas Legislature put their anger to paper to no avail.
The other case met with the same fate, but it has some new law:
(Election Law Blog). The white angry men’s assessment of the 2010 U.S. Census data taken in Texas was held to be spooky.
If you want more Jame Pence, he runs the “Hillbilly Report” blog. He is in Kentucky and has made Mitch (Box Turtle) McConnell one of his hobbies.

SWM, want to bet on weather their credentials were taken away or if they were back later/next day? Na, me neither.
And don’t even think about taking away my red Swingline stapler or I’ll burn down this building. I mean it this time. I’m not kidding. I’ll do it.
Just confirmed it was two angry white men that threw the peanuts.

Thank you Mr. Pence. Unfortunately, they would, they have and they will continue to do it. There is a great line in the “Gangs of New York” that goes something like this: “You can always pay one half of the poor to kill the other half.”. Chilling?
Until we realize that the whole that poor person is getting something I don’t have stops diverting us from the billions that are being taken from us by the bankers and other we will never be able to turn this bus around.
The Republicans have been doing the math and are looking for every white vote they can get- angry or not. ‘Angry’ is preferable because they are likely to proselytize their point of view. :
“Obama Needs 80% of Minority Vote to Win 2012 Presidential Election
Analysis: The incumbent’s formula is 80/40. Romney’s is 61/74. Here’s a look at the color of the calculations.”

BTW, Hope you’re feeling better JAG.
If just about everybody isn’t angry by now then they haven’t been paying attention.
Seconded JAG, great vids, thanks guys.
Eric Schwarz, Good points. Small things drive me nuts[broken shoelace, no toilet paper, etc.] but I’m good w/ the big things. I’ve thought about this and it says something I don’t like to be true but it is. The anger about little things for me is arrogance. Why do I, Nick Spinelli, have to deal w/ these small potato problems. Mea culpa, mea culpa.
Those Videos are BRILLIANT!!!!!!
The First one… Scribe…. BRAVO!!!!
That is one of the best I have seen in a while…..
