Sen. Lindsey Graham recently objected to President Barack Obama seeking congressional authorization to attack Syria (that’s right, in contradiction to every assumption James Madison may have made about Congress, Graham is one of those who wants to embrace an Imperial Presidency and gut the check on power represented by his own branch). Graham has been making it clear that he is not happy about the failure to join another war in the Middle East. So what does a hawk do when a war just doesn’t turn out as hoped? Graham is seeking authorization for a new war . . . not against Syria but Iran. After all, we have not defunded enough environmental, scientific, educational or welfare programs. Another war against one of the largest military powers in Middle East would guarantee a decade of military appropriations and interventions.
Graham is likely to be supported by an Israeli lobby which wants the United States to neutralize the threat posed by Iran as well as those military contractors who are apoplectic at the thought of peace breaking out. In other words, he might succeed despite polls showing overwhelming opposition to additional wars within the public.
Graham for his part is using the failure to go to war in Syria as something we just need to avoid next time: “Look how we’ve handled the chemical weapons threat in Syria,. If we duplicate that with the Iranians, they’re going to march toward a nuclear weapon and dare Israel to attack them. . . . The mixed message and the debacle called Syria can’t be repeated when it comes to Iran,” Graham continued. “So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to get a bipartisan coalition together.” For his part, Obama went public with a warning to Iran and the willingness to go with a diplomatic solution will not apply to their country.
The resolution is of course a repeat of the blank check given by Democrats and Republicans to Bush to start the Iraq War. That worked out so well for everyone that members like Graham are falling over each other to lay the groundwork for a war that will make Iraq look like a small police action.
good afternoon everyone. nick , gene, and disgusted i hope all of your days are going well. and as always thanks for the laughs.. !!!!!!!!
disgusted i do believe we might need oh say about 5 drones for each one of them.
@Bruce spelling is fundamental it should be missed not mist!! mist is what this country has left behind in every war that we had no business being involved in..
obviously you’re either a government shill or among those who refuse to accept the truth about this corporation formerly known as the government!! on that note. i agree with nick and gene a war against the lindsey grahams is what we need. as for a war on s.c. please let me know so i can get my family out first. lol
this corporation is going to push a war against syria either way. it was never about chemical weapons seeing as how the u.s.a corporation has the majority of the best chemicalized weapons in existence. its about the syrian pipeline and come hell or high water the rockefellers and rothchilds are going to own it. like they own everything else they are also going to install one of their world banks in syria regardless of what syria says.and wants…
i mean come on we’re talking about a corporation who is well known for killing off those who oppose them. for setting up terrorist plots using shills who dont know any better, (actors) for such drills as the boston bombing and sandy hook, and setting up huge attacks for insurance scams aka 9/11
Come on Bruce if you’re not a shill for the corporation then you really need to begin to do some serious research.
AMEN!!!!!
nick,
I’m thinking a really angry Chihuahua could take Graham without much effort.
jmquinn, I think you’ve got it wrong! Linday Graham needs to be Roto-Rooted with a 3” diameter flexible Borer. He really does seem to be ‘backed up’!
Mayer on Graham and other psychopaths:
nick spinelli before you call to war against S.C let me leave first LOL Graham is what you call, well I cant call him anything, he is a new kind of a bacteria.
Gene, A Navy Seal team should be adequate for that limited “police action.”
bruce. if you went back to school for remedial spelling you would not be mist either. the word is missed not mist and ‘light loafers lindsey’ is/was with the AG corp. army lawyer. triple L has not seen combat and never will.
Bob, I didn’t know you were an isolationist
Lindsey Graham needs a wargasm.
Are we going to arm Iran to fight this war too….as we armed the Shah….sold arms to iran in the October Surprise event
… http://www.nytimes.com/1991/12/11/opinion/more-october-surprise-surprises.html …
And Iran-contra…And the arming of both sides of the conflict in the
Iran-Iraq war…and sold every type of arms to Saddam HUssein….????
Here we go again…. and, everyone is going to say, Here goes ‘DisgustedonEastBroadway’ advocating violence again…. but come on… isn’t it time we jammed a few bombs up the backsides of people like Lindsay Graham & John McCain…. and blow their brains into another time zone??? Excuse me… What Brains!!!!!!!!!? Hey, Lindsay… send your children in there to die first…. then we’ll think about sending in re-enforcements!
Lindsay Graham, war veteran:
“In 1998, according to the Congressional daily newspaper The Hill, Graham was describing himself on his website as an Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran. In reality, he never left South Carolina.”

Bruce,
“…the United States is the most giving country there ever has been.”
Giving hell to small countries which cannot fight back, yes.
We do have a criminal government. I think everyone of them should be in jail. Before elections all candidates must have a drug screen and a lie detector test done.
nick,
I agree in principle, but I think a smaller scale operation would suffice.
Let’s just authorize war against Lindsey Graham.
We’ve got a new moderate President in Iran with Hassan Rouhani. For the first time in a long time, we are presented with people in their government who are even approachable with diplomatic solutions. To jump straight to war when Iran has taken no overt action against us (or even Israel – who should learn to fight their own battles instead of hiding behind our skirts), is as irresponsible and wrong as invading the country that not only did not attack us on 9/11 but was serving as the one secular militarized country in the region acting as a bulwark against Iranian aggression – Iraq. We need to ramping up diplomacy with Iran in this friendlier political climate, not jumping straight to war. Graham is an idiot. Worse still, he’s a sniveling little chickenhawk idiot.
If he wants to attack Iran?
Give him a gun and a plane ticket.
Good grief, I am agreeing with Nick again.
and
Alan Grayson was on one of the MSNBC evening shows earlier this week and in his usual right to the point style said Lindsey was an embarrassment and should resign.
William. I don’t know what country you live in but calling the U.S. the worst terrorist is a little out of line. Country building isn’t the right thing to do but the United States is the most giving country there has ever been. So if you live here you can always leave and you won’t be mist, and if you don’t live here you can press your government to stop accepting our generosity. have a nice life somewhere else

I call for authorization for war against South Carolina.
American Gov’s as a hamster in it’s cage running around it’s ferris wheel
