The problem with being a murderous religious extremist is when you behead your own allies in one of your blood-soaked celebrations of hate. That is the problem facing the al Qaeda-affiliated Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). The group held one of its signature beheadings with joyous killings and prancing around with body parts only to learn that the victim was a wounded anti-government soldier. Oops.
Mohammed Fares was an anti-government fighter who was wounded and taken to a rebel hospital. He is also a Shiite who called out the names of two Shiite religious figures in his pain. The extremists are Sunni and that is all they needed to conclude that he was a wounded government soldier. Let’s recap for a second. This is a wounded soldier who is calling out the names of two religious Muslim figures. That was all the rebels needed to pull him from a hospital, decapitate him and throw his head around in a celebration of what they viewed as Islamic morality. This is the side of the civil war that our leaders (here and here) were pushing for us to join in the latest war until the public rose up in opposition.
A posted video shows two fighters from ISIS prancing around with the decapitated head in Aleppo, saying “He is an Iraqi Shiite volunteer fighter in Bashar al-Assad’s army.” Another fighter announces “If they (al-Assad’s army) enter they will not distinguish between supporters and opponents. I swear they will rape the men before the woman.” That sounds like two guys who really want to rape men and women and call it a service to God.
The rebel group issued a “my bad” statement: “We call on God to accept Mohammed Fares into his Kingdom and to forgive his brothers that sought to rid us of the enemies of God and our enemies.” It added that it did not see why these murderers should be punished since it was an honest mistake. There is of course no consideration that the war crime of killing a wounded soldier in a hospital, promising to rape both men and women, and to pledge to kill indiscriminately might require a reprimand.

When Muhayyisa killed him Huwayyisa began to beat him, saying, ‘You enemy of God, did you kill him when much of the fat on your belly comes from his wealth?’ Muhayyisa answered, ‘Had the one who ordered me to kill him ordered me to kill you I would have cut your head off.'”

This story is also supported in the Sunan of Abu Dawud, Book 13, Number 2996:
Narrated Muhayyisah: The Apostle of Allah said: If you gain a victory over the men of Jews, kill them. So Muhayyisah jumped over Shubaybah, a man of the Jewish merchants. He had close relations with them. He then killed him. At that time Huwayyisah (brother of Muhayyisah) had not embraced Islam. He was older than Muhayyisah. When he killed him, Huwayyisah beat him and said: O enemy of Allah, I swear by Allah, you have a good deal of fat in your belly from his property.

This murder was committed upon Muhammad’s command. Note that this Muslim murderer would have killed a family member at the drop of a hat. Muhammad was no better than a bigoted criminal boss, ordering his men to wantonly murder Jewish people. Hitler did this. Muhammad’s command to murder Jews puts him in the same category as Hitler, and others who have persecuted Jews throughout history.
A quote from an Islamic scholar – Wensinck writes in his, “Muhammad and the Jews of Medina” [2], page 113:
“It is remarkable that tradition attributes Muhammad’s most cruel acts to divine order, namely the siege of Qaynuqa, the murder of Kab, and he attack upon Qurayzah. Allah’s conscience seems to be more elastic than that of his creatures.”….. Ibn Ishaq and al-Waqidi report that the prophet said the morning after the murder (of Kab Ashraf), “Kill any Jew you can lay your hands on.”.
This incident is also documented in Tabari’s History [3], page 97 of volume 7.
This shows that Muhammad had unsuspecting people, those who even had good relations with Muslims, murdered in cold blood because they were Jewish. There was no justification to murder these Jews other than they were not Muhammad’s followers. These actions were the work of Muhammad’s terrorists committing murder.

I don’t agree, Bob, Diokan. I am of the opinion our President bluffed the Syrians and the Russians. May have bluffed you too. He is smart enough to know the US just cannot afford a new war. Our track record, on the other hand, suggests those American presidents are all to happy to pull the trigger in the Middle East. Assad came to the table, his WMDs are as good as gone. Notice there has been no instance of chem/bio warfare there since. It’s was a US victory. Maybe you just don’t recognize one when you see it.

I see that facts never get in the way of nuts on the right or left. Obama did not want to get involved with US forces on the ground. The FACT is that he was responding to the Syrian use of chemical weapons and wanted to use US airpower to deter their use. That was more than reasonable and legitimate. Unfortunately, many on the so called left think that ANY use of US military power is always bad, and in fact most of them hate the US military in any case.
Then the fact is that Kerry made a statement that the whole object of any US force was to end Syrian use of chemical weapons, and he responded to a question as to what it would take to stop such a strike. Many folks here thought he made a big blunder by giving an honest answer when he said if they give up those weapons, no strike would be needed. Now such a statement is only a blunder if you hate Kerry and think that he is a lying politician and that he and Obama were only using that as a ruse for US intervention. Of course, the idea that they might actually be telling the truth is beyond the realm of possibility for those folks. Obama is not a G W Bush, no matter how much the nuts wish it to be so. You have to have facts on your side.
Yup, these are the ‘freedom fighters’ that John McCain and Lindsey Graham wanted to arm and support. Brilliant! While these are truly barbaric and repulsive acts, drones dropping bombs on children isn’t any less barbaric or repulsive, it’s just a quicker and colder way to kill…..

Write President Obama a thank-you card??? Is that a joke?? He’s the one who was pushing hardest to get militarily involved in Syria. He only backed down when it became apparent that the entire US populace was ready to rise up to prevent us getting involved in yet *another* war.
I’m not convinced he’s given up either. Every day I wake up and check the news expecting to hear we’ve started bombing Syria. War remains the only thing the US continues to make.
