“I Actually Discovered the Cure for AIDS”: Arizona Pastor Reveals Biblically Based Plan For An “AIDS-Free World by Christmas”

Screen Shot 2014-12-03 at 12.26.44 PMA series of videos of Baptist pastor Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona have gone viral as he talks about the solution of AIDS being the exterminations of all homosexuals and bisexual citizens. He explained that AIDS could be solved by Christmas with a simple holocaust for homosexuals. The videos are below.

Anderson takes off on this sermon to recognize “AIDS Awareness Day.” That led to his sermon entitled “AIDS: The Judgement of God” where he explains that Leviticus 20:13 compels the faithful to kill gay, lesbians, and bisexuals. He explains that, in his reading of the section, “I actually discovered the cure for AIDS.” Here is the thrust of his solution:

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.”

Anderson added

“And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.”

What is chilling that Anderson refers to how many kids are in the audience as he spews this hateful sermon, including teaching them that “all homos are pedophiles” and screaming “No homos will ever be allowed in this church as long as I am pastor here.”

Anderson previously attracted attention by explaining why women have to be entirely silent in church. Not even an amen:

If your stomach can take it, here is the full sermon:

  1. DBQ, hey what did you make for Thanksgiving dinner? I want to hear the minute play by play details of your your meal. And IF you think that I have been sockpuppeting, who do you think ate my sockpuppets of the last several weeks? Get busy now and compile me a list.

  2. Yeah, but if you were only one person, you wouldn’t get insulted as much.

    OMG…..LOL.

    ROFLMAO

    😀

    Who need words….right?

  3. And Jettexas do liberals have that right too, or does the right not to be insulted only extend to your tribe? Also one is allowed to express their opinion on this blog as long as it isn’t personally insulting. Criticizing general groups of people does not fit that criteria.

  4. Jettexas,
Liberals get insulted every single day on this blog. You’re going to have to grow a thicker skin. I’m tired of it too, but unfortunately it continues. You’re still new here, you reall have no idea.

  5. I am distraught that a pastor would preach such hate. This is not a true minister of God. Life is too precious–everyone’s life.
Max–my church has NOT remained silent on the gay issue. Our priests are preaching love and forgiveness for all human beings. Perhaps your comments is an indication of how often you attend services.
Inalienable Wrights–I think your percentage is way off–or at least I hope so. The Catholic Church preaches loving homosexuals, not destruction of human life.
Inga–being conservative or liberal has nothing to do with this issue.

  6. “It’s truly amazing to hear one conservative after another who does not know who is the driving force behind their political ideology. Disturbing that they haven’t heard of these religious right leaders on Fox, but not surprising”

You cannot judge all “homophobic bigot fundamentalist Pastors” as being all conservatives, and they are, according to you. I tire of your rhetoric and I abhor your accusatory questions and assertions. You attack everyone with your utter contempt and I’m tired of it. Whilst we all have the right to comment on here, we also have the right not be judged nor insulted.

  7. @believer

Hmmm. Well, maybe we should quit calling it “killing”? That word has such negative connotations. Why don’t we call it something bland and positive, maybe something like, “consensus building”??? Yes! That is a great term! And it could apply to sooo many things besides just killing people. Instead of smearing anti-global warming scientists, and getting them fired, we could just label it “consensus building!” And when certain Democratic mayors want to keep Chick Filet from opening up stores in their town, well then it wouldn’t be the Gaystapo, or censorship, or thought policing. No, it would be “consensus building.”

You know, killing people you don’t agree with is a great idea!
    ——————————————————————–

REALLY??????????? Isn’t that considered murder? I hope that was said in jest. But what do I know, I am a true christian, not a fundamentalist and I am a conservative. I do however, try to keep the 10 commandments and not judge others. Every church, be it Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Church of Christ, Mormon, Amish, etc., etc. all have a doctrine written by the leaders of that church denomination,(not by the Almighty) by which each operates. Is there any wonder that no two ministers preach exactly the same way or believe the same way……….They are human after all. What one believes is left to a person’s interpretation of what the Bible actually says and his/her experiences in life. Sadly, precious few really thoroughly read that guide to life book and wing it rather than read to get the true meaning it was written to give us.

Any minister who spews such hatred just shows his ignorance of the true word of God and the existence of Jesus and his work on earth. Some folks will not get the chance of a spiritual life and the world belongs to them. We are not their judges. ………………..Their God is. Oh yes, having blood in storage with the red cross seems a good idea for those who want to take no chances should they need it at a later date.

  9. What about the homophobic bigot fundamentalist pastors like Scott Lively, who actually have a greal deal of influence world wide? Any conservatives even know who he is, much less speak out about his hate mongering?

  10. @Max-1

Criminy! Pull your head out of your rear end. HIV doesn’t show up in blood for like 2 to 8 weeks. A screening test is not likely to catch it. Add to that, one out of five gay men are HIV positive. There is nothing like that rate among heterosexuals. That is simple reality. I am not willing to take a large risk HIV just so you and other gays will not feel stigmatized.

And just FWIW, a gay man in a “committed” relationship is at greater risk for HIV. Because he will think he doesn’t need to make his partner use a condom. But. . . his partner is probably cheating on him.

  11. It’s truly amazing to hear one conservative after another who does not know who is the driving force behind their political ideology. Disturbing that they haven’t heard of these religious right leaders on Fox, but not surprising.

    1. Inga, who influences your politics? Surely, you can’t have come up with an opinion all by yourself, considering how deeply convinced you are that nut-cases like the “pastor” in question are responsible for your opposition’s world-view.

  12. I was raised Catholic, the oldest continuous Christian faith in the world. I have been to Church all across America, and in several European and South American countries. I have never heard a mass that called for the stoning of homosexuals. Killing gays is not a Christian view. Any pastor who calls for murder is dead wrong, and so is anyone who attends this hate speech disguised as Christianity.

  13. Paul C
    Again, I’ll repeat…
The CDC REQUIRES ALL blood that is to be used for transfusions… Full STOP!

Regardless of that persons sexual history. However, the CDC maintains a policy rooted in bigoted stigmas against a select minority in America. If you get infected today, from a blood transfusion, it would be because that blood center failed to follow policies…

    FYI Paul C,
Who screens out donors who claim to be “straight” but who are not? Any donor can lie on the forms about sexual history. So, again, why the Federal policy AGAINST gay blood?

    Lastly Paul,
Because your blood would be tested just like mine, why the need to make differences based on bigoted homophobic policies… I’d accept your blood without any question.

    1. Max-1 – first there is nothing homophobic in my wanting your blood tested. If your blood is HIV free I have no problems with using your blood. However, I do not roll the dice unknowingly with my life. For example, I have two very good lesbian friends who have been in a committed relationship for some 30 years. One of them I have known since 1966 and have seen through all of her relationships since then, so I happen to know all her partners since 1966. Because of that I would just want their blood typed for a match.
On the other hand I have a gay friend I have known since the 1970s. His last partner died of AIDS. I would ask that his blood be tested, just like I would yours.

  14. Oily, the threat to Americans are other Americans who bury their heads in the sand. I suggest you read up on the Religious Right leadership who influences right wing politics.

  15. Baptist pastor Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona and Louis Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright, all belong in the pit of society. They teach hate and intolerance of race, sexuality and their all not religious fundamental right wing nut jobs. Their all just religious fundamental nut jobs!

I also have never heard of this Lively guy either! I watch Fox news, Newsmax and on occasion ABC and CNN, when forced.

  16. Good grief Oily. “Popular Sovereignty” is one of the building blocks of the Constitution. Were you sleeping during civics class?
