St. Louis Police Release Video To Try To Identity Wave Of Looters At Ransacked Market

Screen Shot 2015-01-21 at 9.13.45 PMThe St. Louis Police Department have released an extraordinary video this week showing how one of the many stores were looted in Ferguson, Missouri after a grand jury declined to vote indictments in the Michael Brown case. The criminals are clearly shown and the police are seeking their names to arrest them.

The video shows a collective effort to break through the door of the market and eventually how the mob forced up a boarded up window. The wave of looters captures what store owners have described as a feeding frenzy as people grabbed anything that would move.

This is the third time the owner has been ransacked and he now has no plans to rebuild. The result will now be one less market in this neighborhood.

f45d7ac0-a19a-11e4-889f-91d8202d73ca_dm-14-62233-suspect-3The police released the statement that “If you can identify any of these suspects, please contact the St. Louis County Police at 314-889-2341 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477,” a message on the SLPD website reads. “All tips are anonymous.”

  1. We have many homeless, needy, deranged people here in San Diego. I am a kind man. But, I find when they jump up and down and say “respond to me” the only way to deal w/ them is to ignore them. Otherwise they follow you down the street and won’t STFU. Just sayn’.

  2. Karen S …Saudi Arabia is a definite no go zone for me. I was offered a very lucrative job by a defense contractor, but it required I live in the KSA. No thank you.

  3. Karen & DBQ…I will look around and if I find any I will notify you and we can work out how to get it to you….or if they will take your order directly and ship it to you. Snakes are not on my list of critters I want to snuggle up with…ever since those days in Asia where some little green tree dwelling suckers could lay you out with a single bite near an artery.

I have 5 .38 Special #9 shot rounds in my kit….and I’ve had them for years. Actually these days I’d prefer .45 ACP caliber shot shells, since that is what I travel with where allowed. So my looking about is for me as well. Mainly for when I travel west or south. Not too many rattlers or other venomous snakes where I live, just a few rattle snakes south of me the far southeast of Michigan. I’ve run across a few small rattlers in Montana, usually hiding and more scared of me…non the less I can do without them as well if they get to comfy close to me. They work on rats if close up too…but my town frowns on folks blasting away at rats with large center-fire handguns. The city manages to control the rats rather well, so I am not tempted. That, and I’ve said before on other threads here, I am probably the most pedantic in you face safety nut you’d ever meet when it comes to firearms…just ask my range partners. 🙂

  4. TJustice … after reading some of your comments I doubt we’d agree on much of anything. BUT, I will say I do use your everyone is human approach, modified to the glass-half-full” approach. In short I approach everyone with the idea they are sane and civil, & not evil…and then let them prove me right or wrong. Works for me, but I have to say I find myself right more often about animals, domestic and wild, than I do about humans if I kept count. Still, even with humans, the rights outnumber the wrongs of my theory. I am not judging per se, just being aware of who might do what to whom. Said another way, everyone gets a 50% break from me and their conduct and performance determines the up/down. And I am talking about a dozen ethnicities to boot…and I’ve lived where my life depended upon my approach. Trust is earned, not assumed (nor is it a natural right)…I try to earn trust of those I meet around the world and around town….and hope that it is reciprocated. If they begin shooting at me I kinda have to judge them by what is, not by what I wish it was…

  5. Aridog – CCI is the manufacturer I contacted. They said the ammo is not discontinued, but they don’t have any runs scheduled, and have no idea when they will make it again. AND they don’t have a system to create a waiting list to notify people when they make a run. They also gave me their entire dealer list and none of them have any.

I also tried Bass Pro Shops. I’ve talked to every conceivable accent in the Union. That was interesting, but fruitless. 🙁

If you happen to see any, let me know. Our neighbor cleared some land, and we had a bunch of baby rattlers. I anticipate a busy season when it warms up. Non venomous snakes I welcome, but with the horses, dogs, and my little boy, we can’t allow any rattlers to stick around.

  6. Aridog – true, that’s a way to determine any “no go zones” here in the US. Simply looking at crime statistics. There are definitely places in LA where I would never go with my child.

Basically, anywhere that is considered dangerous is a no go zone, regardless of the reason why – Muslim extremists, gangs, drug cartels, whatever. Saudi Arabia is a No Go Zone for Jews. Officially, no Jews are allowed a visa. It’s also a No Go Zone for anyone openly gay. Gangland would be No Go Zones for pretty much anyone.

  7. TJustice:

“Did they not own slaves from Africa? Having someone else commit the crime for you is not suppose to let you off the hook. Also, I never glorified Mr. Madison, Mr. Jefferson, the English or the Loyalists, this blog does all the time (Madison and Jefferson), then condemns individuals of a different status for taking similar actions.”

It is anachronistic to judge people from antiquity by today’s standards. The rights of women were also far behind today, so I’m sure anyone who lived in the 1700s would also fail the equality barometer, as well.

My question was why does it seem like only the US is slammed as former slave owners, when every civilization known to man practiced slavery, including the continent of Africa, where it is STILL practiced, today.

And, yes, I agree with you that it was a heinous practice and a blight on the history of all mankind.

  8. Darren – thanks. I’m trying to find snake shot for a .38 special. Cabbalas doesn’t carry it anymore, nor ammoseek, or anywhere. It’s like the fabled unicorn. At a local gunshow I was told that the only place people can find it lately is estate sales, or otherwise between private parties.

  9. Regarding unofficial no go or go carefully zones, try using Crime Mapping dot com…pick the state of interest, then the city of interest…and you will see a map of crimes, by type, in the area you’ve selected.

BTW…a lot of hoey is out there, like the prevarications by Harry Reid’s best friend (the Senatorial candidate that assured he was re-elected) Mz Sharon Angle who asserted my neighborhood was an official Arab Sharia No-Go zone (as a Irish descended Catholic I’d demur of course), among other nonsense about other areas she’d never even visited. We even have a local loon living out in far suburbia who rants the same silliness daily on her blog.

  10. DBQ – we don’t have a 12 gauge yet. We get a LOT of snakes here. There was one summer where I saw more snakes in a single day than I had in years in my previous location. There is a lot of open space around here, and it’s prime snake habitat. Not having snake shot is a problem. I don’t want to have to hack the head off a 4 foot rattler, standing in the strike zone, with a blunt shovel. It’s also not very humane. My husband removes the head to protect wildlife, and it takes several whacks if it is large snake. The manufacturer says it still makes .38 snake shot, but it doesn’t have any runs planned yet. I’ll try your link. I’ve looked online and called literally all across the US.

Out here a mountain lion killed a horse, and one of the moms at school was trapped inside her house when one was trying to drag her cat out from under the porch. She wasn’t armed, and she had kids inside, so she didn’t go out to save the cat, but it was wedged far enough back that the cougar gave up, after a long time. What always amazes me is that they blend in so well they could be 20 feet away and you wouldn’t see it until it comes out of the brush.

  11. Dust Bunny Queen and Karen … for shot shell handgun ammunition, try CCI Ammunition …Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops carry these lines in some locales….as well as other dealers, which you can find using the CCI dealer locater by zip code feature on the link provided. Find a dealer or wholesaler, near you or out-of-state, and order via Intenet for UPS-Ground delivery…it is legal to buy ammo this way, and I buy most of my target loads this way.

  12. Mr. Schulte

    1. TJustice – Madison inherited his slaves and plantation and actually sold off 25% by his death. However, the British were slavers at the time as was everyone else. We were just going with the flow.

And, if you know the process. Arabs captured the blacks in Africa and sold them to slave ships. The ships brought them to the Caribbean where the slaves were “broken.” Then they were shipped to other places in the New World, whereever it was thought they would bring the best price.

Assuming Jefferson and Madison were buying fresh slaves for their plantations, which they might have. There would be several middlemen between the slaves and the original slave-catcher in Africa. They are not being stolen to spec.
