A Saudi husband’s view of the strict Islamic code led to his shooting a doctor despite the successful delivery of the man’s son. The doctor was also a man and the husband was irate that a female was not asked to deliver the baby in accordance with Islamic values. Muhannad Al Zabn, delivered the baby at the King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh and was later treated for his own gun shot wounds.
What is particularly astonishing is the level of premeditation. The father told the doctor that he wanted to meet him at the hospital to show him his appreciation in person for the delivery. He then shot him for exposing his wife to a man.
Fortunately, Al Zabn was brought to the emergency room for his serious wounds and survived.
The reaction has been mixed in Saudi Arabia. Most support the doctor but some criticize the hospital for putting the husband in such a position.
If I have not made the point abundantly clear, let me try again. Islam and Civilization are incompatible. Either Civilization must expel Islam or Islam will destroy Civilization.

What is most troubling is that there is any measurable support for the husband.
What would these people prefer? If no female is available for the delivery (because presumably she’s trapped at home because she can’t get a male chaperone to drive her) would they prefer the mother give birth alone? Die of purpurile Fever if the placenta is not delivered? And then call it the will of Allah if either died?
The men over there spend way too much time obsessing over controlling lady parts.
You are making the assumption that hospital births are best. All of my children were born at home.
My only regret is that I did not also home school them, I naively sent them to government schools where they were duly indoctrination into loving the state.
So, here there is an Islamic extremist, idiot, criminal, danger to society, etc. Perhaps there should be a post for post of Christian extremists, idiots, criminals, etc who allow their children to die rather than violate their particular fairy tale.
The problem is religious extremism. The fact is that it is most prevalent in Islam. But targeting Islam only makes it more extreme and dangerous. The fight should be for secular ruling of society and religious containment. A father has no right to endanger or oppress his children for any reason, including religious.
The West is well along this societal evolutionary road. Islam lags far, far, far behind, in spite of what may appear as good about it. There is no natural law that states that one must accept the bad with the good. Nature’s law is to seek good and avoid bad. Islam is not natural. Any religion practiced to an extreme where it places itself above natural law, is bad, evil, disgusting, etc. It’s not that difficult to understand, just difficult to continue witnessing.
It is interesting that every time current Muslim dyscivilizational behaviors are pointed out that a few folks here find it imperative to point out how the Christians are even worse, even though no such barbarism is taking place in the name of Jesus.
Let’s call it the Anti-Christ Reflex.

Actually, the Operation Iraqi Freedom invasion was definitely legal according to US domestic law, and albeit there is an international legal controversy, it was most likely legal according to international law. Meanwhile, the piece of OIF that draws your ire – the OIF peace operations – was definitely legal according to US domestic law and international law.

Actually, US military intervention is historically instrumental in upholding Western civilization, including in the War Terror. The OIF peace operations were evidently succeeding until President Obama broke from President Eisenhower’s post-WW2 precedent and deviated from President Bush’s course. Obama’s course change from Bush has been disastrous.

Actually, the vast majority of the killing has been by terrorists pursuant to their opposition to the reforms that existentially threaten their (and apparently your) preferred social condition.
Muslims aren’t monolithic. US-led intervention was empowering reform advocates until President Obama abandoned them.
I had a muslim patient that could only be touched by me if a male relative was present. They politely explained this to me on the first visit and everything was pleasant the remainder of the times I saw her and later her family. If I remember correctly, an emergency would have been permissible to not have the relative present.
This shooting is no worse that what the religious wack jobs in the US are threatening about the latest transgender issue.

Equating all Christians with this religion of “justified violence” is intellectually dishonest. You bigotry and ignorance is showing. You’re also showing your inability to have an intellectual conversation by distracting from the FACTS. Pew Research Center found in 2009 that more than half of the world’s Muslim population believe in Shariah Law and feel it should be imposed. This guy simply acted out his religion of peace.

This is why we need an international organization for medical care called Doctors Without Rifles. The point will be to give them rifles to point when needed. Then he can say to the nurse: “scapel, pad, needle, thread,…. rifle.”
The doctor probably would like to immigrate to America. He is probably muslim. NY City would be ok but do not send him to Cincinnati. Over and out.
The Saudis can build all of the gleaming, state-of-the-art facilities that their vast amounts of oil money allow, but peel back the thin facade and what do you find? A citizenry, steeped in a primitive and barbaric culture and religion, which is what, ultimately, must utilize and frequent those facilities. Why are we surprised that this occurred in Saudi Arabia? Because the building looked so modern and Western? Those gleaming, tall buildings mean nothing–it’s a facade, where we, falsely, attribute Western values, ethics and morals to those who frequent those structures. They’re just barbarians–only barbarians with ancestors who were lucky enough to park their tents and camels over fields filled with oil.
American Christians are not much better. They advocate locking people in cages for the heinous crime of “nudity”. i.e. exposing Gods wonderful creation.

These Muslims are the people that US leaders like Bush and Obama have convinced Americans that we can spread Western style democracy, nation building, etc, via military excursions. To that end Obama his Peace Prize winning self has spent $237 BILLION DOLLARS OF TAXPAYER MONEY AND COUNTING.
Now I presume Bush and Obama knew and know these Muslims have as much interest in Western style democracy (evolved over thousands of years) as do wolves in a vegan diet. Still, I’d like them imprisoned for there grotesque, disgusting, and felonious military excursions, which speed the end of this once great nation.
