It often seems that when the world is grieving some terrible tragedy, there are some religious extremists who will celebrate the loss. Stepping immediately into that role was Sacramento pastor Roger Jimenez of the California-based Verity Baptist Church who praised Omar Mateen’s murder of gays and lamented that he did not “finish” the job. It appears however that Jimenez will have to find another place to peddle his religious-based hate. Harsch Investment Properties has decided not to renew the church’s lease and wants Jimenez out by next March.
In his sermon at the church, Jimenez told his congregation:
“People say, ‘Well, aren’t you sad that 50 sodomites died?’ Here’s the problem with that, it’s like the equivalent of asking me, ‘Well, aren’t you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?’ No, I think that’s great. I think that helps society. I think that Orlando, Florida is a little safer tonight.”
He also said that “If we lived in a righteous government, they should round them all up and put them up against a firing wall, and blow their brains out.”
He continued to double down on this remarks despite protests:
“As far as the Bible is concerned, they crossed a line. The sin they performed is worthy of death,” he said. “I realize our society doesn’t take that, but that’s what the bible says. If someone does something that’s worthy of death and they end up dying, I’m not gonna mourn them. . . . Absolutely I think they are safer now because of these deaths, and the reason I think that is because I believe all of these homosexuals are pedophiles, and the Bible–see our culture and our society puts them in these categories–gay, lesbian, whatever, but that’s not found in scripture. And I understand the world does not want to accept that, that’s fine. I’m saying as a Christian, the Bible puts people in two categories: normal/natural, unnatural.”
The video was originally posted on YouTube but the company removed it for violating the company’s policy on hate speech. I once again have qualms about the censoring of such postings. I think it is important for people to hear such hateful sermons and to understand the intense prejudice against gays and lesbians.
What do you think?
Hi NickS!!!
Oh, I will probably be around at least until the cool weather gets here. And yes, loaded with beer. . . 🙂

“I know you don’t travel outside the US”
False.
“This evidence proves…”
Democrat Afghan Muslim kills 49 gays.
Steve says Christians should be refused immigration.’
And when the tub overflows, Steve closes the bathroom door.
Squeeky rules.
I wonder what if—
What if Omar had shot up a NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association) meeting? Would we still think it so outrageous to not be overly broke up about it?
Or, if Omar had shot up a NRA meeting, for the liberals. Would they be crying over the 49 dead gun toters, or would they be thinking up rationalizations why maybe it wasn’t so bad, and that they had it coming. Or hgow about a convention of Global Warming Denialists?
And historically, how about 9-11, when many progressive-liberal sorts were saying that we had it coming, for all our involvements in foreign subterfuges?
Sooo, maybe what this preacher says is really not so far out of the norm, as far as his feelings that they sort of deserved it. Lots of us either think, or could think that same way, depending on the particular group that got mown down. I think why he is being castigated as much as he is, is because he said it about gays, and right now they are the golden children of the left and the media.
In Turkey, and the Muslim world, not so much.

If Jesus thought that sinners should die, then he wouldn’t have saved an adulteress from stoning.
He is offering a choice and not an echo.
The American Taliban are alive and well.
Jimenez and his “church” donated funds to Hillary’s “tax free” Clinton Foundation, which received millions of dollars from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other mid east nations where homosexuality is illegal and punished by death from stoning, beheading, etc.
I haven’t seen the video.
What is especially troubling is if the congregation did not turn their back on him and walk out. I’ve been going to church for decades, in other countries, and in many different states. I have never once heard hate speech against gays. If there was any kind of talk like that, I am confident my parents would have walked us out. There are plenty of rules in the Catholic faith about fasting before Communion, no premarital sex, etc. But we never heard anyone saying they hope people who broke church rules got hurt. In fact, I don’t recall any priest ever bringing up homosexuality at all in mass. (Not wanting to throw stones, perhaps?) I’m now attending a different denomination, and I’ve never heard hate speech from them, either. An article blasting this idiot showed up on my social media news feed, and all of my Christian friends joined me in denouncing him.
We finally found a Christian preacher either inciting violence against gays or rejoicing in it. He’s an extremist, rightly earning the condemnation of the vast majority of Christians as well as those of other faiths in America.
This evidence proves shows that a President Trump will have to ban Christians from entering the US. KCFleming, I know you don’t travel outside the US, but now’s not the time to start.
Get this. The owner of Orlando’s Pulse nightclub will host a party tonight.
Strange having a party while people are burying the dead and victims are still in the hospital. Due to the blood stains in the club, the party will be in the street.
I don’t remember the part of the Constitution that encourages Americans to “despise civilians”, or empowers the military to send troops to war on it’s own.
But it’s been a while since I’ve studied Constitutional Law.
Maybe there were some recent amendments I missed.
There is an old saying ‘treat your military despicably and they will soon learn to despise you.’ You cannot use the tenets of the Constitution on the one hand as a defence after will fully destroying and abandoning it with the other. Once having abandoned as the document it no longer applies to you no matter part of the act or part of the support..
So no you will not be absolved quite so easily.
I should interject the position which the military is required to perform does not have the power to forgive and forget nor to recognize Nuremberg style defences which are only an open public confession of guilt with a plea for clemency added.
We are required to perform certain actions under certain conditions.
If you whoever is reading were not part of this act by action or support you are not despised as are those who did take part by action or support.
Our oath then is carried out in your defence. Preserve and protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic has it’s own built in limitations. So you would find no references. But if you were part of that vile action then you dissemble and quibble and cry out to no avail. The orders are to defend against all enemies foreign or domestic.
But set that aside and return to the question. When did the former Democratic Party in particular abandon the notion of ‘representative democracy’ and ‘democratic principles’ and decide to abrogate civil rights, The Bill of Rights, the Constitution , the idea of direct and indirectly selected delegates to a national government, and such minor impediments as due process and probable cause?
Was it when the party leaders announced they were NOT Democrats any more but Socialists. I do not excuse Republicans as they have openly become little more than the right wing of the left and did not object or reject to the actions.
As to the oath sworn soldiers and military presently on active duty? I cannot explain their inaction unless it is a feeling of is the general public worth the effort. I would remind them they are not sworn to protect the general public or real estate but the Constitution. Perhaps they have their own trip wire. Ours was when the Constitution was completely gone.
However that aside let’s test the waters. WHEN did the parties decide to abandon the notion of representative democracy the term used by the left to describe a Republic form of government?. When did they decide to abandon democratic principles. When did they decide to abandon civil rights, the Bill of Rights, due process and probable cause among other mainstays of a free and independent government of, by and for the citizens?
Easy test. ask for the party which has got itself on the ballots of 50 States. to be included in the process. That would be debates. Or has Money as Free Speech bought and sold that concept as well as it has bought and sold the results of balloting in free and open elections. It’s 50 50. It is or it isn’t a democratically directly elected at the lowest levels and indirectly through delegates at the higher levels using the system known as a Republic or …it isn’t. all that’s needed is for enough interest to bring one party to 15% from their present 12% and even that is an insulting requirement given their presence on 50 ballots.
Personally I believe the request will fail, the former two parties have abandoned democratic principles and the military in accordance with it’s required oath of office should be prepared to act as they are legally required.
if you can’t protect your own country and what it stood for then why worry about some other belief system. If you can’t protect your own citizens in their own streets, villages and cities nor the borders of the country what good is your belief system?
One last comment. No more cannon fodder and since the ladies are joining us in full citizenship finally no more baby factories. Damn the draft. Enough is enough. No more sending us out to die for nothing.
Michael…….as I understand your position, military members swear to defend the Constitution above all else.
And from previous comments you made, this was the paramount responsibilty of the military.
This most recent comment seems to suggest that you view the Constitution as being “out the window” anyway, so the military is no longer obliged to defend it.
I’m not too crazy about some of the decisions I’ve seen regarding use of the the American military in combat.
But I’d be even more concerned to see a Gen. Jack D. Ripper usurp civilian (Executive and Legislative) control of the military.
As far as your contention that you find civilians “despicable”, yet you have no hatred.
“Despise; verb, to detest, hate, loathe, abhor”.
ok i went over the top on that one but I was using an old saying. that applied for years and still does. It’s all a matter of degrees detest, despise, loathe and abhor to me don’t carry the all consuming passion of hatred.
I gave the wrong impression I not only think and believe the military has an unending obligation but should do so.
Yes I do think it’s out the window. IF the military acts however and stays within it’s mission parameters it is clearly a counter revolution and completely legal as well as a requirement. .
Two of the more recent Generals of note personify the difference. One got our people our soldiers through the Gulf II and further. The other ran his mouth in a shameful fashion and got taken to a well deserved wood shed. This brings up an underlying problem. Assume the military acts and says to the Commander In Chief FIX THIS to our satisfaction then we’ll give it back. That’s one thing. But suppose they said. CIC you ARE the problem and removes the President. Who then guards the guards.
Who it should not be is the new protective echelon (translate to German for the the underlying sentiment) as they have become the problem replacing the original reason. We don’t need a live re-enactment of WWII years or Russian under the KGB.
But given the option what else is ‘legally’ available.?
Citizens who pay attention to their rights AND responsibilities would help but short of re-education camps where do you find them? Certainly not in the products of modern day education.
So..that aside what’s your take on using the Libertarians as a test bed in the debates?
MA
PS I not only travel outside the country I live outside the country returning to visit, deal with #$%^&^%$# taxes and yes i do vote.
Why hate at all. We are perfectly capable and authorized by our religions and politics to kill without hating – often for no apparent reason at all. Fly Analogy. Do you hate the fly that bothers your picnic,. OR with hate nor rancor just swat the POS. Won’t do any good with the next fly but society has deemed all flies are under penalty of death as and where found. By the way what was that flies last name or first name? Does it matter. No. Watermelon safe picnic proceeds. Society has spoken.
Much the same with soldiering. The job you send us out to do for whatever unknown reasons. Do we hate the NVA soldiers? No. Ahhh but they are supporting socialism and I despise that rank failed useless belief system. Still we didn’t hate NVA and often respected them much more than the ARVN senior leaders who were the local POS. Kept that all to the side, did the job and came home to find out whoa the country had changed their mind but forgot one detail. They didn’t tell us. 60,000 dead for less than nothing.
Same thing; in the Gulf Wars. Still continuing. Vote for it one day and stand with the opposition the next day. I’m a firm believer civilians should not have the power to send troops to war. Especially under a military slave system. But do I hate the people of this country? No. But I pity them. Especially those who say thanks for serving your country. What fools. We didn’t and don’t serve the country nor the people in it. Read our oath of office. We serve the Constitution. We didn’t vote with our enlistments and commissioning oaths to defend Marxist Leninism in whatever form nor the rantings of Adolf. Come to think of it as a supporter of the Constitution I could really really get to despise civilians and already find the lot of yiou despicable.
Does that count as hate?
Probably by your definition but I don’t use change a definition a day serve the party political crap or PC. No fictionary for these eyes. I don’t hate you . believe that as I search for my swatter. And read our oath of office. That’s your future. Eventually after some retraining and some law tweaking you’ll get the country back – when you have earned the right. Until then the good news is we don’t really believe in Black Flag or H24 or Raid as does your lot. Just loss of citizenship. SWAT.
What was your name?
Does it matter?
Not in the least.
I’m choosing None Of The Above. Your leading choices are unacceptable under the Constitution.
But in the meantime don’t forget to try the Libertarian percentage raising idea. It’s our way of bringing you back into the fold or to use your terminology. It’s a way of conducting selection.
Best of al lit’s a counter revolution, the duty and a requirement of all who serve or served in the military, completely legal and there;s nothing you can do to stop it. The George’s don’t provide that sort of re-framing. Nor can those who forgot their oath of office. SWAT.
Well, still nobody really seems to get it. Omar killed 49 gays, mostly men in one night. That same night, about 85 gay men were given HIV by their sodomizing lover, who chose not to put on a condom. And the same goes on each and every night.
It’s bad when 49 people get killed by a muzzie terrorist, but I think it is even worse when 85 men who have sex with men are infected day after day, night after night, by some clowns who just don’t want to put on a “raincoat.” Th country can not stop every nut, but condoms are cheap and readily available. In effect, there are about two “Orlandos” each and every day among men who have sex with men. But, to criticize the filthy, trashy, reckless, and homicidal behavior of gay men is considered homophobic.
Sooo, why should I moan and cry about the 49 victims, when the country refuses to moan and cry, or even recognize the reprehensible and murderous behavior of gay American men. Can you say – – – “:negligent homicide???— Statistically, if an even 50 gay men had died in Orlando, then 10 of them would been HIV positive. I would love to see what the autopsies showed.

And should be defrocked as well!
issacbasonkavich – “If there is a god, it would not have created anything so vile as these people.”
It’s called free will.
Also, I believe the Christian view is, hate the sin, not the sinner.
“::yawn::”
That was so junior high.
What, no eye roll?
“…you were as quick to distinguish them as Muslims are separate themselves from their radicals.”
The majority of Muslims support death for gays.
Christians do not.
