The University of California at Davis is embroiled in a controversy involving one of its faculty threatening “zionist journalists” in a violent tirade on X. UC Davis Professor (and undergraduate adviser) Jemma Decristo posted the screed on October 10th referencing the homes and family of those who support Israel as possible targets. The university is investigating the matter, but Decristo’s embrace of violence is nothing new for faculty around the country. For years, faculty members have engaged in violent rhetoric directed toward conservatives and Republicans with little response from universities.
“one group of ppl we have easy access to in the US is all these zionist journalists who spread propaganda and misinformation … they have houses w addresses, kids in school, they can fear their bosses, but they should fear us more.”
At the bottom, you can see a knife emoji, an ax emoji, and three red drops of blood after saying “they should fear us more.”
That strikes me as a rather direct and obvious threat.
Decristo is an assistant professor of American Studies at the public school with a “focus … on the interplay between sound, race, gender and embodiment.”
In a statement, a UC Davis spokesperson said campus leaders “reject all forms of violence and discrimination, as they are antithetical to the values of our university. We strive to foster a climate of equity and justice built on mutual understanding and respect for all members of the community.”
The University of California system has a long history of violence and violent rhetoric from the left.
At the University of California, Santa Barbara, feminist studies associate professor Mireille Miller-Young physically assaulted pro-life advocates and tore down their display.
She pleaded guilty to criminal assault, but the university refused to fire her. Instead, some faculty and students defended her, including claiming that pro-life displays constitute terrorism. The University of Oregon later honored Miller-Young as a model for women advocates.
Around the country, faculty routinely use violent rhetoric with little push back in the media or on campus.
We have discussed professors advocating “detonating white people,” denouncing police, calling for Republicans to suffer, strangling police officers, celebrating the death of conservatives, calling for the killing of Trump supporters, supporting the murder of conservative protesters, and other outrageous statements.
University of Rhode Island professor Erik Loomis defended the murder of a conservative protester and said he saw “nothing wrong” with such acts of violence.
One of the most recent violent professors was Hunter College Professor Shellyne Rodríguez who was only fired after being arrested for holding a machete to the neck of a New York Post reporter and threatened to “chop you up.”
Yet, she was not fired after she destroyed the pro-life display of a group of students.
Since her machete attack, Rodríguez has now been hired by Cooper Union to teach its students.
These faculty members have long been part of the radical chic of academia, including a professor recently at Cornell expressing his “exhilaration” after watching the Hamas attack on Israel.
The response to conservatives accused of racist or insensitive comments has been quite different. We discussed how St. Joseph’s University refused to renew a contract for a professor who actually prevailed in such a free speech fight. A conservative North Carolina professor faced calls for termination over controversial tweets and was pushed to retire. Dr. Mike Adams, a professor of sociology and criminology, had long been a lightning rod of controversy. In 2014, we discussed his prevailing in a lawsuit that alleged discrimination due to his conservative views. He was then targeted again after an inflammatory tweet calling North Carolina a “slave state.” That led to his being pressured to resign with a settlement. He then committed suicide just days before his last day as a professor.
For years, conservative and Republican faculty and students have been subjected to such violent acts or rhetoric with little support from most faculty or the media. Indeed, figures like Jennifer Rubin and Laurence Tribe recently came under fire for their comments after the massacre despite years of such attacks and false claims directed at the right.
Universities are now facing pressure from donors to address such violent rhetoric. I continue to oppose any form of censorship for faculty or students. However, the real problem is the academic echo chamber created from decades of bias in hiring and promotion. That is unlikely to change the lack of viewpoint diversity on faculties or the purging of conservative or libertarian professors. There is no evidence that universities are prepared to take real action to address the hostile environment for many on our campuses in espousing dissenting views or values.

Jonathan: There seems to be some confusion on this blog by the LA times Editorial Board’s statement about Judge Chutkan’s gag order on DJT. The Times Board said: “Chutkan wouldn’t have to had to balance Trump’s free speech rights and the integrity of the judicial system if Trump had kept a civil tongue in his head and refrained from making outrageous accusations”.
In an opinion piece (10/17), that does not reflect the views of the Editorial Board, Erwin Chermerinsky took a different view: “The judge imposed a gag order on Trump because his speech is unpleasant and offensive. But that is simply not a basis for restricting speech under the 1st Amendment. We may loathe what Trump says, but we must defend his right to say it”.
Reasonable minds can differ on whether Chutkan’s gag order was justified. I happen to disagree with Chermerinsky on this issue. Do doubt the DC Court of Appeals will resolve the issue at some point. But this doesn’t mean Chutkan’s trial is going to be stayed pending the appeal. The trial is going to start in early March 2024–hell or high water. That is set in stone!
Anti-Semitic neo-Nazi Democrat Dennis McIntyre moves on from justifying the terrorism of his fellow anti-Semitic neo-Nazi terrorists in Hamas whose charter explicitly states their primary purpose is extermination of all Jews and Israel (“From the Jordan River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”). Having dealt with The Filthy Jews, McIntyre moves on to another objective of his hatred; Orange Man Bad. The fact that Trump nor the Soviet Democrats long serving and clearly biased political hit man’s prosecution of Trump is not mentioned in this article doesn’t bother McIntyre in the least. He has the targets he wants destroyed in his sights: Jews, Trump, Republicans.
A sick evil mind defending declared objectives of genocide and police state fascism, Lavarentiy Beria style, is not qualified to be considered a reasonable mind. Especially to be considered as an unbiased reasonable mind – rather than what McIntyre is: a propagandist promoting political objectives, whether objectives for Jews or for Trump.
I appreciate Dennis McIntyre taking the time to publicly display how anti-Semitic neo-Nazis and police state fascists think.
Dennis the retard never learned about the Bill of Rights
The purpose of the BoR is to protect the citizen from the limitless power of Government.
Dennis the retard takes the side of the Government. To stupid and clueless to understand he is committing suicide, bu volutarily ceding his rights.
Dennis may be off the Soviet Democrats’ short bus, but he isn’t a retard. Nor is he here to attempt to postulate a different version of what free speech means.
Dennis is an anti-Semitic neo-Nazi, no different than his fellow Soviet Democrat anti-Semitic neo-Nazis: Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, etc. His intent here is to defend and support the genocidal terrorists of Hamas from the pre-Medieval Salafist/Wahaabist religious sect within Islam.
Hamas’s charter explicitly states that their primary goal is the extermination of all Jews, and wiping the nation of Israel off the face of the earth. Dennis is not a retard; he does not have that as a defense – he knows their stated objectives are genocide. So, s one of Hamas’s fellow anti-Semitic neo-Nazis burning with a desire for the genocide of The Filthy Jews, it is inevitable that Dennis would spring into action to support the declared objectives of Hamas.
All he has available to attempt that defense is his trying to claim that there is a moral equivalency of Hamas committing the war crime of deliberately locating their terrorists, their terror weapons, their terror munitions right beside non-combatant Arabs in Gaza – and Israel inevitably killing some Arab non-combatants in military strikes on those terrorists and their weapons of terror, even though they gave advance warning to the Arabs located beside those terror weapons that they would soon be destroyed.
And of course, ignoring the fact that the Salafist/Wahaabist pre-Medieval Arab terrorists he shares common cause with have ignored every single offer of an Arab caliphate with offers of land in exchange for peace. From the corrupt, evil Egyptian terrorist Yassar Arafat (who chose to use the word “Palestinians” instead of Arabs for the media) walking away from that offer multiple times when Carter was president, to Hamas saying “not good enough” when Israel voluntarily removed every single Israeli from Gaza in 2005, leaving behind their homes, their industry, etc to the Gaza Arabs… it still wasn’t good enough.
Dennis, like his fellow anti-Semitic neo-Nazis in Hamas has declared it won’t be good enough and truly independent until there are no living Jews nor an Israel existing From The River To The Sea. A Jew free, homosexual free, transgender free, free speech prohibited, protest free Haza isn’t good enough. That is what “intersectionality looks like: a neo-Nazi who claims he fights for homosexual rights defends terrorists in Gaza who throw suspected homosexuals from rooftops. The neo-Nazis posting this twisted post that he claims is about free speech instead of dealing with The Filthy Jews, is here to support and defend Hamas – whose answer to those attempting free speech in criticism of them in Gaza is to murder them.
Don’t attempt to provide this anti-Semitic neo-Nazi police state fascist, Dennis McIntyre with the defense of having a mental handicap; what he has is the evil mind of an anti-Semitic neo-Nazi.
“Hamas’s charter explicitly states that their primary goal is the extermination of all Jews, and wiping the nation of Israel off the face of the earth. ”
Ya got that text of the charter ? I seriously doubt it.
As a former member of AAUP I assert that individuals with lack of Lecturer or Assistant Professor do not have tenure; at least not before 7 years of employment at rank.
We need teachers, not trouble makers.
Oh dear! Should be “with title of”, not “with lack of”!
Put your hat on and go sit in the corner, oh thee of demonstrable superior intellect, capacity, acumen and inspiration!
Publish or die!
Whatever are you doing here, Einstein?
This is a HATE CRIME! Can you post that we should go out and lynch blacks? Can you post that female liberal reporters should be raped? Can you post that any gay guys that adopt a child should be killed? Can you post support for going out to find a trans guy to kill?
It is only Jews (and by extension some white people) that you are allowed to argue should be killed without getting fired from TEACHING YOUNG PEOPLE. Not blacks, not Hispanics, not gays, not Asians, not trans people, only Jews. And they call conservatives Nazis!
Compost and manure might cure your hate. Home Depot has a sale
I thought we conservatives weren’t for hate crimes, just the crimes that crimes no matter how much hate or not is determined to be in the mind of the perpie.
Have we suddenly lost our moral code ?
Is creaming shark that much fun ? Maybe that’s all it is.
Shak, we are not big supporters of hate crimes per se, but when anyone calling a bald guy with a mustache in a dress “he” gets in trouble it is time to hoist the libs on their own petard.
Prof. Turley,
The choices of free people in response to the speech of others is NOT censorship.
Right or left there is nothing wrong with a free person chosing not to hire, to fire, to refuse to support others for experession they find offensive.
You are suffering from the same 1984 word games of the left. That is not censorship. It is discrimination – and discrimination is NOT inherently wrong.
Discriminate is just another word for choice. We can make good choices and bad choices.
Israel is not perfect. Gazan’s are not universally evil. But most of us CAN work out the moral calculus and judge that Israel is closer to our values and principles and Hamas is not and that Hamas’s acts have greatly exceeded the threshold necescary for a VIOLENT response.
I would note that the Problem with the remarks of these on the left you highlight is NOT that they advocate for VIOLENCE, it is that that violence is NOT justified.
Nearly all actual censorship by government is immoral, illegal and unconstitutional.
Conversely the morality of private actions to condemn or punish the speech of others depends on the morality of the speech being punished.
OT: CNN citing Hamas as their source for the blast at the hospital is tantamount to them citing Bin Laden on 9/12 as proof that the United States flew planes into their own buildings.
As for this woman professor cited in the column above, she needs to be fired and she needs to be investigated by the non-existent FBI. If she isn’t fired there should be an attempt to shame the state government into defunding the campus. Every time Newsome pops his greasy head out of his bunker he should be asked about this incident. Only on the left can you have a professor tear down STUDENTS tables holding political pamphlets and then hold a MAACHETE to the neck of a reporter and then have her get hired by another college. Remember when idiots like Jim Acosta said Trumps hectoring was violence? Now a machete wielding lunatic gets hired to teach kids.
OT (again): When the Fox reporter asked Ilhan Omar what Israel should do after having 1400 citizens murdered Omar went on to rant that the reporter is insane (a few minutes later in an elevator) and that we need peace and we need it now. Of course the little traitor never answered exactly what a nation should do when 1400 citizens are murdered, 200 are kidnapped and young women are raped. What would she do? We need to ask liberals this every time one of the lunatics states “ceasefire now”. Ask them why not “release the hostages now”?
Jonathan: Notice that UC Davis did not condone the veiled threats against “zionist journalists” by Jemma Decristo. The administration quickly condemned her screed by stating it “reject[s] all forms of violence and discrimination”.
While to say you “continue to oppose any form of censorship for faculty and students” you seem to imply that the administration should take more forceful against Decristo. Say cancelling her teaching contract? Wouldn’t that be a violation of her “free speech rights”? You continue to claim, without any evidence, that conservatives have been “purged” from university campuses. “Purging” Decristo won’t solve the problem. It’s just tit for tat.
With the Hamas attack and Israel’s response by bombing and killing innocent Palestinians in Gaza is another example of tit for tat. Doesn’t solve the underlying problem–Israel’s failure to recognize an independent Palestinian state. This problem is reflected on US university campuses–between those who support the Palestinian’s rights to independence (like Decristo) and those who support Israel’s right to keep the Palestinians in perpetual subjugation.
You have often said the answer to suppressing “free speech” is more speech. Silencing Decristo is not exactly the way to pursue that goal.
Dennis, making overt threats doesn’t fall under free speech. Can you post that blacks should be lynched? WOuld you be so sanguine about that? Or is it only Jews that you are arguing can be threatened with death to them AND their children?
Dennis is on display as what he is: an anti-Semitic neo-Nazi defender of his fellow anti-Semitic neo-Nazis, the pre-Medieval religious sect of Islam that Hamas, Hezbollah, Isis, Al-Queda, etc are members of. Not the slightest bit different than those other anti-Semitic neo-Nazi Democrats who also defend and justify Hamas terrorism, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, etc.
He’s performing his song and dance to attempt to create a moral equivalency that does not exist. He has nothing else to offer in his attempted defense of the genocidal terrorist group whose declared purpose is to exterminate every Jew on earth and to eliminate the nation of Israel.
The fact that the vile terrorists he attempts to defend and justify also shout “Death To America” with the same religious zeal is something this anti-Semitic neo-Nazi has decided has no need to be mentioned in the screed that he posted.
Ever wonder how the Nazis were able to get good Germans willing to do their duty at their extermination camps for Jews? Dennis McIntyre has voluntarily given you a look into the minds of people like that. Neither he, Omar, or Tlaib are bothered by the fact that, if they were in Gaza instead of in a free Western democracy, their lifespan under Hamas “government” would be measured in days, if not hours. That “diversity” that McIntyre alternately claims he supports does not exist under terrorist subjugation.
No, he supports CRT and the absolute hatred and extermination of white people, for a decade at least now.
You’re a secondary issue.
Of course, Dennis McIntyre, another anti-Semitic neo-Nazi Democrat like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, would attempt the same feeble, disgusting moral equivalency that many neo-Nazis do.
That Israel is just as bad: when non-combatant Arabs (he prefers the name chosen by the Egyptian terrorist Yassar Arafat: Palestinians) are killed in military strikes on Hamas military personnel and munitions despite prior warnings to get out, that’s exactly as bad as planning a year in advance for a massive attack that specifically targets the defenseless: Israeli babies in their cradles, women, and elderly for for slaughter. Oh, and as a bonus – rape of children and women! EXACTLY THE SAME THING!
In Dennis’s anti-Semitic neo-Nazi world, it isn’t the pre-Medieval religious terrorists committing a war crime by ensuring they place their terrorists, weapons, and munitions close to the Arab population they subjugate, even if that requires them forcing those Arab non-combatants to be there by force of arms. In Dennis’s world, it is completely legitimate to use the population you subjugate AND HOSTAGES as a shield for terrorists and their weapons of terror.
The laws of war as well as the UN says doing that is a war crime, but Dennis disagrees. For him, Israel commits a war crime when their attacks on his fellow anti-Semitic neo-Nazis Hamas terrorists results in the death of ANY non-combatants located there.
It doesn’t matter to Dennis that Israel spends unnecessary treasure and Israeli blood by giving prior warnings of targets about to be struck, giving both non-combatants and his fellow genocidal anti-Semitic neo-Nazis a chance to escape, meaning the terrorists allowed to escape survive to slaughter Israeli citizens and soldiers another day. With whatever terror weapons they can take out with them before what they can’t take is destroyed.
Dennis then attempts to further the Hamas terrorist cause by claiming the blame is Israel’s: they have failed to recognize an independent Hamas state. We’re to believe that the Hamas charter that identifies their primary goal as succeeding where Hitler failed – exterminating Jews from the world and erasing the nation of Israel – would be removed from their charter and there would no longer be further Hajji terrorism.
Of course, that “independent Palestine from the river to the sea”, means that Israel that is located between the Jordan River and the sea would have to no longer exist. And of course, Hamas’ other promise – that the sea will be red with Jewish blood.
Dennis wants us to believe that his fellow anti-Semitic neo-Nazis will be satisfied and peaceful once their goal of genocide for all Jews and eliminating Israel is accomplished. The fact that Hamas and all the other Hajji terrorist groups are also screaming “Death To The Great Satan” as well as “Death To The Little Satan”, doesn’t bother Dennis at all. There is no way they would target Americans in America, Indians in India, Brits in the U.K., etc once they had their Palestinian State From The River To The Sea. They would settle down to be happy farmers once they had their utopia!
Dennis makes sure he doesn’t mention that every single time in the past that Israel has offered the Hajji terrorists their solution – land in exchange for peace – without exception, the Hajji terrorists he supports have refused and walked away to return to terrorism. Starting with their leader the Egyptian terrorist Yassar Arafat at Camp David with the Jimmy Carter hoped he had brokered, to Gaza, where Israel voluntarily removed every single Israeli from Gaza in in 2005. In some cases, by force, leaving all the land and what they built behind, abandoned to the Arabs.
One would think giving Gaza to the Gaza Arabs would satisfy them their demand for a Jew-free independent Hamas state. No offensive diversity to offend them in Gaza: no homosexuals, gender blenders, Alphabet Sex, free speech, uppity women, and of course no Filthy Jews. But no, not good enough!
For those who wonder how the Nazis found good Germans to serve in their extermination camps for Jews, Dennis McIntyre is a perfect example of the minds of those who eagerly step forward to serve in that capacity.
Fun historical fact: allied forces killed approximately 50,000 French civilians living in occupation in the area around the Normandy beaches in the weeks just prior to and after the D-Day invasion. A similar number around the Calais feint of that being the location where the invasion would occur. No prior warning was given. The Allies knew that such deaths were inevitable, including the Free French. But they knew that in order to defeat Nazis like Dennis McIntyre, there was no other way to be able to diminish Nazi resistance sufficiently in order to win a toehold on continental Europe.
I do appreciate Dennis McIntyre talking the time to voluntarily expose how the minds and twisted logic of anti-Semitic neo-Nazis work.
“Universities are now facing pressure from donors to address such violent rhetoric. I continue to oppose any form of censorship for faculty or students.”
Mr. Turley, your grasp of logic and reason regularly fails you; this is another one of those instances.
How is it “censorship” in your legal world for ANY voluntary donor, of anything of value, to choose to withdraw that donation to whoever or whatever they were donating to, because they are no longer in agreement with the recipient?
If they choose to cease donating to Harvard because they continue to engage in selective racism to pass over student applicants who are Asian or East Indian so they can accept less qualified students that are black, is that also some sort of censorship?
Your theory on this gives an appearance of you believing donors have a duty to continue their voluntary donations – which would make them no longer voluntary. Alternately, that the universities have a right or a privilege to continue receiving those duties while continuing to allow such conduct from their staff and students.
And the students at those universities who are Jewish and see what the university’s faculty and other employees are saying about Jews like themselves – what rights and privileges would you describe they have in the face of threats and rhetoric that are just barely legal rather than being criminal threats? The right to withdraw paying money to the university to attend as a student and go elsewhere? Would that be another form of censorship, from the students that would do this?
Be careful that you don’t dislocate your shoulder working so hard to pat yourself on the back as a reward for your morality.
Old Dog. Okay. How’s your grasp of logic and reasoning? Adage: can’t teach old dogs new tricks. Go ahead, keep barking at the moon.
Oh look! E.Fromme has chewed through his leash again. Would you like to take a shot at a rational explanation for how withdrawing a voluntary contribution is censorship of free speech?
Or (in the same vein as your response), would you prefer to devote your intellectual genius to trying to figure out why your mommy keeps giving you her vibrator collection, hair dryer, and the kitchen toaster as your bath toys?
Rodenticide is fairly effective in dealing with rodents but in your case it would result in unnecessary funeral costs, embalming, and so forth, not that anyone would miss your rat ass
Of course, I forgot to mention that anti-Semitic neo-Nazis like Dennis McIntyre, Ilhan Omar, etc are such lightweights that the funeral costs for such small people wouldn’t be all that different than those for a pet cat.
Expecting a democrat to explicitly outline his view and thereby hack at his political base and powerful fellows dumping endless dollars into the democrat cauldrons ?
JT left it vague, so one could say in his sentence he was hinting the administrations of the universities should not cave and censor for the donations.
Of course the donators got the hint too – did he mean me or them ? Hmm… I wonder what he really meant.
This is a device to attack all “sides”. Read it, it can mean the donors, it can mean the administrations. etc
That way the demoncrat party can’t really attack him much on any grounds. He’s still “on their side”.
Turley is on the side that pays him.
“Universities are now facing pressure from donors to address such violent rhetoric. I continue to oppose any form of censorship for faculty or students.”
Prof, I agree with the principle. Unfortunately, Universities, Leftist, he all nave set the rules. We all need to play be the same rules. I’m willing to operate under rules under the principles of he Constitution. Obviously, the left want no part of anything that resemble Constitutional ideas.
Todays students and teachers would be demonstrating for Japan after Pearl Harbor.
I suggest offering blood drives so they can test their own morality by checking the box: “Hamas”, “Israel”, or ” any”. It is a decision that will live with them. THAT is education.
Due to the Middle East’s “Come to Allah” moment, America is having its own “Come to Jesus” moment with its rejection of “woke”, “dual justice”, and simmering wars kicked off by Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Ukraine, and soon, China.
Meanwhile at home we are suffering crime in the streets, citizens supporting our enemies, and adapting to life in our teething police state.
Rule number one: Start with education. Enforce the traditional guardrails of what ideas teachers can sell to idealistic students. These kids couldn’t find Gaza on map. These “professors” are exploiting the chaos going on around their students.
When donors pull the plug on their donations, as has been in the news in recent weeks, then it might get through to these universities and the ‘professors’ they hire that the tide is going to have to turn. It may take 10 or more years for it to begin to have an impact, but it’s worth the wait —-
@Anny – Yea, big donors pulling funds and support now, where were they when the same group of “terrorist” were violating the 1st Amendment rights of students and guest speakers? Please the hypocrisy of what’s going on is revolting. We can’t get enough Americans to volunteer for military service but some hit 19 and go off to serve in the military of another country. Then when captured serving in foreign uniform claim their “American hostages”.
It’s OK to support good allies but Americans better start focusing on America before there is no America as they know it.
Suddenly there’s a bit of outrage about the group who has repeatedly shouted down and got aggressive against Americans. The question is why are the outraged so late to the party, could it be they were party to the shout downs and campus disruptions?
They know that they can get away with it. No push back because the media does not report it!!! Local, state or national. Nothing to see here!!!
The big problem right now is the JEW is offended.
After that blows over it will be business as usual.
Larry Fink will give the signal and all the sheep will obey.
An! Another anti-Semitic neo-Nazi leaps up to express his rage that The Filthy Jews still exist. Despite Hitler’s best efforts at a Final Solution. Despite the best efforts of Hamas. Despite all the rest of the Arab terrorist groups from the pre-Medieval Salafist/Wahaabist sect of Islam, with their avowed and openly stated objective to exterminate The Filthy Jews, slaughtering them until the seas of Gaza’s shoreline are red with their blood.
Despite their best efforts, there are still Filthy Jews in existence – and that outrages anti-Semitic neo-Nazis like Shakdi.
I wonder if Shakdi and the rest of the defenders of the genocide of The Filthy Jews ever noticed that their fellow anti-Semitic neo-Nazis in Hamas, Hezbollah, Isis, al-Queda, the Mad Mullahs of Iran, are ALSO screaming “Death To America”. And pretty much everybody and anybody who is not a member of their murderous religious sect. Unless you believe the Hajji’s murder sprees in Mumbai India were to murder The Filthy Jews in Mumbai. Ditto the Hajjis murder sprees in Nigeria – obviously, another country overrun by The Filthy Jews.
Which means, unless Shakdi is one of their fellow Salafist/Wahaabist sect members, the terrorists Shakdi finds common cause with intends to exterminate or subjugate Shakdi as well.
Ever wonder what the mind and justification of the good Germans who happily served their country by voluntarily working in the Nazis extermination camps for Jews looked like? Shakdi has volunteered to provide a public display of what their minds looked like.
I don’t think she could have posted a more clear threat than if she took up station outside of one of her target’s homes and stood there with a rifle. I think the FBI should be called to investigate. Not that I think the FBI would do anything but it might be nice to see what kind of pretzel they turn themselves into as they take no action.
Professor Jemma Decristo’s hatred of Jews and Israel, and by extension the United States, is completely validated for her Cafe Communist students when they receive A’s in her classes and then Bachelor’s degrees from UC Davis. With loyal followers like these, maybe the Fourth Reich isn’t dead after all ? Thank you, Jonathan, for an excellent article.
Republicans are being hunted.
Interest piques the curiosity which reveals that wretched individuals such as Decristo, who have harbored a seething agenda for years, are all sculpted out of material culled from the same quarry of racial, ethnic, gender, religious and sociopolitically oriented camel dung which the higher education establishment of the 21st century deems fashionable to stock and employ in the cultivation of their designer crop of future citizens.
Once again, the only people to blame are the parents who continue to send their money and kids to these schools.
True, but I’d wager that a great many of those parents Nafpaktos their kids are also woke Democrats and have no heartburn over this. In fact, that’s why they chose those schools. It’s going to take more than just the parents to fix academia. Pressure must come from every possible source. No more passing the buck while doing nothing.
LOL! You took the words right out of my mouth. Be forewarned, there are commenters on both sides who want poor Diogenes to sip hemlock. It’s not easy being me.
Along those lines, I don’t know how Professor Turley has endured the abuse of lesser minds for so long. I’ve come to realize that it really is a public service and personal sacrifice on his part.
LOL! indeed. Perhaps you can provide a rational, especially a legal rational, for donors withdrawing their voluntary donations to an entity because they do not agree with what they are doing – no matter what the subject matter that they disagree with – is somehow or other censorship?
Explain that justification rationally; don’t waste too much time attempting to accomodate the ability of abusive lesser minds to understand your reasoning.
Right of association. But there’s no right of association when the government can take your money anyway and give it to lesser minds who despise your values. Rich Democrats make political donations so they can use other people’s taxes to leverage by force their own pet projects (green energy is just one example).
@Old Airborne Dog: Censorship is defined as acts of suppression or prohibition, usually by controlling authorities. Should one choose not to lend support of any kind to activities which are incompatible with one’s philosophy, such as those of a political party or candidate, that does not satisfy the definition. Should Turley seek to block all your future posts, that would.
LOL! indeed. Perhaps you can provide a rational, especially a legal rational, for donors withdrawing their voluntary donations ….
Is it a full moon, has the sun had a violent explosion and sent our way deadly radiation that melts brains of lesser mortals or did the DNC higher more trolls to attack their opponents while howling like batsheet crazy trolls?
College students are young adults, not “kids.” They make their own choices about which courses to take and which professors to study under. Accordingly, they should be held accountable for those choices. Would I hire a UCD graduate who chose to take this professor’s courses? No, never.
The Free Press’s TGIF edition covered this person and many others who also called for violence against people who were pro-Israel.
When someone says or displays acts of radicalism, believe them.
I fear someone is going to do something very dumb, dumber than tearing down pictures and things will go bad to worse.
So, an assistant professor in the American Studies Department with a “focus is on the interplay between sound, race, gender and embodiment.” No wonder university graduates are so ignorant of American history (and world history, too, for that matter). Forty years ago, the chant from leftists was “hey, hey, ho, ho, Western Civ has got to go.” Now we can see the full consequences of that.
Well said Donna. Well said.
I find individuals such as the one this essay is about disgusting and would have no problem telling them “Give it your best shot” to their face if they were to show up in Montana.
That said, I’m not sure whether I find it offensive or laughable that so many lump all students together in expressing THEIR biases i.e. “No wonder university graduates are so ignorant…”
All university students are either full of seething hatred and devoting time to expressing their neo-Nazi anti-Semitism or at best carrying the views of teachers like this because they’re gullible and only develop their world views from those they take their courses from? I don’t think so. Furthermore, given the tens of thousands who graduate each year, I know that isn’t so. It’s similar to the rational argument against banning AR-15s; given the tens of millions of legally owned and purchased AR-15s in the country, if they were in fact a problem, we’d have known it over 50 years ago.
This mindless “kids these days/graduates these days” bias is similar to that regarding “the student loan crisis”. Regular reviews of student loan borrowers find that only about 6% are defaulting on their student loans – about the same percentage as the default on car loans and repayment on credit card debt. So the reality is, whether the degree they graduated with was Mechanical Engineering or Interpretive Transgender Dance Theory, 94% of those supposedly ignorant students are making a living and repaying their loans.
In the case of student loans, there are lots of politicians who are happy to capitalize on the ignorance of the voters who hold an irrational view about university graduates, whether about their ignorance of history or ability to repay loans. They take advantage of the ignorance of those voters through Identity Politics. (and in some cases, the ignorance of some graduates at the same time)
Nice stomp down, pertinent facts included.
“7%
How Many People Are Currently in Default on Their Student Loans? By the end of 2021, roughly 3 million people were in student loan default — that’s about 7% of all borrowers.”
Close enough. Might be 6 now might be 8
Honestly, i have grown weary of all the talk about the utter permicious environments of our media/educational industries without any action on the part of the right, either by citizens or politicians. H*ll, the rinos will not even allow a Speaker of the House, if found, to be forceful enough to actually confront the problem. Stop talking about this cultural depravity and do something. If not, STFU, bend over and take it without resistance.
Meanwhile an American citizen has been sentenced to prison for a meme but this is not worthy of Turley’s attention.
