Below is my column in The Hill on the disgraceful Democratic attacks against Elon Musk over his status as a naturalized citizen. For years, some of us have raised concerns over the adoption of McCarthyite tactics and rhetoric by the left to demonize those with opposing viewpoints, including critics of the massive censorship system under the Biden Administration. Those attacks are now reaching a dangerous crescendo after the 2024 loss in the presidential election.
Here is the column:
This month, 75 years ago, Sen. Joe McCarthy (R-Wisc.) gave his infamous speech denouncing disloyal Americans working at the highest levels of our government. It was the defining moment for what became known as McCarthyism, which attacked citizens as dangerous and disloyal influences in government.
Some of us have criticized the rising “rage rhetoric” for years, including that of President Trump and Democratic leaders, denouncing opponents as traitors and enemies of the state.
In the 2024 election, the traditional red state-blue state firewalls again collapsed, as they had in 2016. The response among Democrats has been to unleash a type of new Red Scare, questioning the loyalty of those who are supporting or working with the Trump administration in carrying out his promised reforms.
Elon Musk is the designated disloyal American for many on the left. That rage has reached virtual hysteria on ABC’s “The View.” This is the same show before the election on which hosts warned that, if Trump were elected, journalists and homosexuals would be rounded up and “disappeared.”
After the election, democracy seemed to stubbornly hang on, so the hosts had to resort to attacking as disloyal anyone joining the government or supporting Trump’s policies.
This week, co-host Joy Behar followed many others in questioning Musk’s loyalty and attacking him over being a naturalized American citizen: “The guy was not born in this country, who was born under apartheid in South Africa. So, [he] has that mentality going on. He was pro-Apartheid, as I understand it.”
Behar was then forced, perhaps by panicked ABC lawyers, to walk back the comment — such retractions having become a regular feature on “The View“. What came out was the type of jumbled confusion that results when you interrupt a lunatic on the metro in mid-rave.
Behar stated: “I’m getting some flack because I said that Musk was pro-apartheid. I don’t really know for sure if he was … He was around at that time, but maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t—he might have been a young guy, too. So, don’t be suing me, okay Elon?”
This anti-immigrant attack on Musk, however, has worked its way into many Democrats’ talking points, even though their party had previously claimed to defend immigrants against racist Republicans seeking to close the Southern border and deport criminal illegal immigrants.
On Capitol Hill, Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) launched a xenophobic tirade that should have shocked the conscience of the nation. She warned citizens that Musk could not be trusted because he is an immigrant who has been a citizen for only a couple of decades: “Mr. Musk has just been here just 22 years and he’s a citizen of three countries. I always ask myself the question: With the damage he’s doing here when push comes to shove, which country is he loyal to? South Africa, Canada, or the United States? And he’s only been a citizen, I’ll say again, 22 years.”
Former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney was another joining in to attack Musk for being an immigrant. “You may be unfamiliar with that part of our history since you weren’t yet an American citizen,” she wrote on Musk’s social media platform, X.
These attacks are straight out of McCarthy’s playbook. It was McCarthy who insisted that “there are no degrees of loyalty in the United States — a man is either loyal or he’s disloyal…” Of course, McCarthy (and the earlier Red Scare) attacked government employees, writers and others on the left. It is now the left that is employing the same tactics, including censorship, blacklisting and public vilification.
Throughout the 2024 campaign, the Democrats, including President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, painted Republicans as either aspiring or actual fascists. That continued recently with Minnesota Gov. and former Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz (D), who referred to Republicans as “fascists and Nazis.”
Even journalists and civil libertarians have been reviled using the same terms. After a hearing on censorship two years ago, MSNBC contributor and former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) attacked journalists and members who had spoken in favor of free speech. She denounced the member witnesses (Sen. Chuck Grassley, Sen. Ron Johnson and former Rep. Gabbard) as “Putin apologists” and Putin-lovers.
Stacey Plaskett, the Democratic delegate representing the Virgin Islands in the U.S. House, even suggested arresting respected journalist Matt Taibbi, who, along with Michael Shellenberger, testified on their investigation into a massive censorship system developed under the Biden administration.
The attack on Musk is particularly disgraceful, given his contributions to his adopted country. Ironically, filmmaker Michael Moore denounced the deportations of criminal illegal immigrants last week by noting that Trump was deporting someone who might cure cancer or be the next Steve Jobs. Well, this is a naturalized citizen who not only could be the next Elon Musk. He is Elon Musk.
As politicians and pundits question Musk’s loyalty, Space X is moving to rescue two astronauts stranded in space. Musk has volunteered his time and skills to achieving a record reduction in the size and waste in government. One can disagree with his priorities or the means he uses to achieve his goals, but he has nobly stepped forward to serve his country despite death threats from the left.
Musk is also facing such attacks in Canada, where thousands have signed petitions to strip him of his citizenship. The left did not seek to revoke the citizenship of figures who have eviscerated free speech and other individual rights in that country. It is Musk who is persona non grata.
This is nothing new for Musk, whom the left has targeted since he announced an intention to buy Twitter and restore free speech protections on that site.
The concern is not for Musk, who has the intestinal fortitude (and financial means) to stand up to a global mob. Moreover, with polls showing overwhelming support for reducing the size of government and the budget, the campaign to obstruct these efforts is unlikely to resonate with voters.
The danger is more acute for the country as disagreements over policy are transformed into attacks over loyalty. It is the most dangerous form of rage rhetoric, an effort not to debate but to demonize those with whom you disagree.
When you have members of Congress standing in front of the Capitol, denouncing naturalized citizens as untrustworthy after a mere 22 years as a citizen, it is a moment that would have made McCarthy blush.
Jonathan Turley is the Shapiro professor of public interest law at George Washington University and the author of “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage.

I argued on this forum a few years ago that politics had beomce America’s new religion, and I was slammed by the majority of commenters. The WSJ today argued likewise in a piece I excerpted below this text. That politics has become our new religion is a great poverty for America. The Salem witch trials were a walk in the park compared to Democrats violence against Americans. Democrats lynched blacks not too long ago. Look for them to do far worse today, e.g. assassination attempts of Catholic SCOTUS Justices, former Presidents, et al
Just When We Need Them, the Media’s Credibility Hits Bottom
WSJ, March 3, 2025
The outrage is as furious as it is futile. While the stories provide endless tunes for the sort of introspection the media loves, they echo only to the chimes of journalistic hand-wringing. There’s a simple reality: No one cares anymore.
The ability of the traditional media to influence events is attenuated to the point of near extinction. The best measure of this: Most of them spent a decade trying to defeat Donald Trump. Ten years on he is stronger than he has ever been.
No one cares anymore. I say this with absolutely no satisfaction. On the contrary, it is a disastrous state of affairs. With public trust in America’s media organizations hitting new lows, we have lost a vital pillar of the informal institutional arrangements that protect our freedoms and help ensure good governance.
…
What happened is that news organizations were transformed in character and purpose: They went from being quasi-legal institutions to quasi-religious ones. Their accountability function resided in their acting—or at least trying to act—as neutral arbiters of a sense of nonpartisan fairness. But their products no longer function like affidavits or witness testimony in the court of public opinion. They are more like prayer books for a believing congregation. Their purpose is to strengthen believers’ faith by offering reassurance and imparting moral guidance.

“Democrats lynched blacks not too long ago.”
And in the 1960s they started switching to the Republican party. Trump completed the migration.
You left out, “he’s a nazi,” oh, and “he’s a fascist.”
Very very few racist democrats “switched” to the Republican party. Republicans slowly defeated racist democrats for political office.
You are far from alone. Many people – but I would specifically note Prof Haidt who resmbles Turley in his progression from left to right while himself barely moving. Concluded almost two decades ago that humans are an inherently religious creature. That we have NEVER gone without religion and that if we abandon theism we will create religion from something else.
Modern progressivism is a religion – in earier generations communism was a religion and that is why it is so hostile to other religions.
Jonathan: …Finally, DJT is fed up with the critics who blame him for blowing up the negotiations with President Zelensky. One of those critics is former advisor H.R. McMaster. Here’s is what DJT said yesterday about the former advisor, one of the most decorated and distinguished military leaders of the country:
“H.R. MCMASTER IS A WEAK AND TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE LOSER. We should spend less time worrying about Putin, and more time worrying about migrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers and people from mental institutions entering our country–So that we don’t end up like Europe”.
Gee, and I thought DJT had deported all the migrant rape gangs, drug lords and murderers. DJT is clearly the master of deflection–blaming immigrants for his virtual destruction of NATO and putting Ukraine at the mercy of Putin. Don the Con is a legend in his own mind–always insulting and putting down others to deflect from his own failures. All just so he can feel better.
And after on and then off his tariff threats the Orange Man is finally set to put those tariffs into effect tomorrow. Twenty-five percent on Canada and Mexico and an additional 10% on Chinese imports. None of our three main trading partners are backing down so we will see if DJT has backed himself intro a corner. If the tariffs go into effect the result will be a major tsunami to our economy. DJT is delusional if he thinks producers will pay the tariffs. It’s all of us who will pay the tariffs. As I said in January if you are thinking about buying a new car or some major appliance better do it right now because if DJT goes through with his threat you will be paying a lot more for almost everything. Of course, the MAGA crowd on this blog has never listened to my sage advice.
Dennis, if you didn’t watch the Zelenskyy meeting in the Oval Office from the beginning to the end at least twice, you have zero credibility saying the Trump caused this.
Zelenskyy directly challenged the President of the United States, the Vice President and the Oval Office. He went way over the line.
Answer this, why isn’t Ukraine in the E.U.?
Megyn Kelly did a good breakdown of what happened:
The Zelenskyy political “bomb” in the Oval Office was an act of sabotage and treason, by Obama holdovers in the Biden administration, and as a continuation of the Obama Coup D’etat in America, including the “Five Eyes” group, that began in 2016. Remember that Allen Dulles initiated the JFK assassination after being abruptly fired by Kennedy for the Bay of Pigs debacle when JFK allegedly said he intended to “shatter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.”

ROFL
Dennis – you are constantly making predictions about a future you know nothing about and then drawing conclusions based on predictions about the consequences of predictions.
You could at-least wait for SOME part of you long stream of consciousness nonsense to actually become real.
While Trump won the 2016 election – he took power with almost no political base.
He was an insurgent in the Republicans party and had weak support in the house and senate.
he had little military and foreign policy experience. no government experience, and was intent on doing what many politicians had claimed but none had actually done and challenged the “deep state”.
He made innumerable personell choices based on the advice of many republicans in power and most of these proved anywhere from horible to just “weak and ineffective”.
Pretty much all the consequential accomplishments of Trump’s first term came from a close circle in the Whitehouse. All people he brought with him from private life. And they were all incredibly successful.
Like All entrepeneurs Trump is adept at learning, and this term he is coming in completely differently.
He has an enormous public base of supporters that he has built over 8 years.
He owns the republican party. He has spend the past 8 years leaning who to trust and who is competent, and he is coming into office in 2025 with a deep bench of people who share the same vision that he has. This time he is not looking to accomplish what he can do with a close circle in the WH, but with a full and deep team.
And that is what the left and the deep state are terrified by.
This time Trump is on offense and he has a huge ARMY and a plan to destroy everything that gets in his way.
Those of you on the left constantly fixate on warped misrepresentations of tiny details.
The oval office press conference friday means one and only one thing – Zelensky is not ready for Peace.
That is all.
With certainty he WILL come back to the table. Unless Europe is willing to give him more than emotional support,
Ukraine will be slowly and painfully defeated.
Your ignorant spin on the words at the press conference DO NOT MATTER.
Trump will likely get nearly everything he wants on most matters – not because he has a smooth tongue,
but because he is right.
it is way past time for the war in Ukraine to end.
Ukraine is in no other nations national interests, so no nation will give more than financial and emoptional support to ukraine and that is not enough to defeat Russia. So long as Putin wishes to continue the war Ukraine has ALWAYS been at the mercy of Russia.
Pretending otherwise does not change anything. barring an unforseen miracle – Ukraine returns to the bargaining table or they lose.
The US is not leaving NATO – but we are diminishing our role in it.
Again that is both right and inevitable.
Less and less US interests are in Europe.
Trump is not destroying NATO he is doing what leaders in EVERY country do – advancing the interests of their country.
Apparently the disloyal (to the nation and our founding principles) opposition only likes immigrants who aren’t white and come in via illegal methods.
Is everybody Crazy? You can see the great disconnect between House Prices on the market, Property Taxes, and Insurance Rates (plus ancillary cost: Electric, Water, … and ‘Food’) Do the Realtors expect Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet to buy all these homes? They are the only one that can afford them. The Housing Market has decoupled from Reality. take a look at Zillow, Trulia, etc…
It needs to be dealt with immediately. Good Working Citizens of the U.S. can’t make it, and the Retirees are sinking fast.. This is a serious disconnect and We are in trouble. We are past the point of a Depression. V.P. Vance knows what this life is, He needs to get moving on it with a new Deal. The Domestic agenda need to be addressed NOW.
Biden left Office with his 10% cut and left the rest of US in Bidenville USA.
Just a few years ago, Mr. Musk posted a very simple yet exceptionally profound picture.
— it was a stick figure of him in the same place at three points in time.
— his position never changed.
— instead, there was a line on the page, Left and Right wing at either end.
— the entire line kept moving leftwards
— and so someone who once had been a moderate Democrat became a moderate Republican without having to change a single position at all.
The cartoon was created in 2021 by evolutionary biologist, Colin Wright, PhD, and got me to change political affiliations from Democrat Party to Independent. It was a very profound image and explained perfectly what many of us came to believe: Demonrats became evil. Here’s the background story on the cartoon. Worth a read

Volodymyr Zelenskyy,
No harm, no foul.
Offer a profound act of contrition and fully rectify your bad behavior.
Apologize to America, Americans, and the President of the United States and sign the deal.
Period.
America is a member of NATO (and the UN for the time being).
America is not your “partner.”
America is your benefactor and donor, for now.
Oh hell no. You’d be a fool to deal with him. Double crosser. At least putin is bad. He doesn’t pretend.
Mr. Musk needs to sue The View and ABC. They can add this litigation to the others. Hopefully, ABC will go bankrupt.
“Musk is looting America.”
The average American is compelled to work about three months each year to pay for welfare (domestic and international). January, February, and March you are forced toil to pay for the needs of others — for their housing, food, clothing, health care, education. And for the needs of others around the world — for DEI training in Burma, pottery classes in Morocco, Sesame Street in Iraq, a transgender opera in Colombia.
One’s greatest commodity in life is time. DOGE is working to restore maybe two weeks, of those three months, to their rightful owner: You.
So: Who is your looter? And who is your defender?
“Who is your looter?”
Answer: The communist (liberal, progressive, socialist, democrat, RINO, AINO) parasites and leeches.
The American Founders established all conceivable and rational, natural and God-given rights, privileges, immunities, freedoms, free enterprises, free industries, and free markets under severely limited and restricted government.
The communists (liberals, progressives, socialists, democrats, RINOs, AINOs) incessantly demand evermore “free stuff” and “free status.”
America must extricate itself from leeches, parasites, and communism and return to the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
And if Trump needs to violate the Constitution in order to embrace it….
Proclamation 80—Calling Forth the Militia and Convening an Extra Session of Congress
“On April 15, 1861,…President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation calling forth the state militias, to the sum of 75,000 troops, in order to suppress the rebellion. He appealed ‘to all loyal citizens to favor, facilitate, and aid this effort to maintain the honor, the integrity, and the existence of our National Union.’”
Proclamation 92—Warning to Rebel Sympathizers
“[On] July 17, 1862,…I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, do hereby proclaim to and warn all persons within the contemplation of said sixth section to cease participating in, aiding, countenancing, or abetting the existing rebellion or any rebellion against the Government of the United States and to return to their proper allegiance to the United States on pain of the forfeitures and seizures as within and by said sixth section provided.”
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Now President Donald J. Trump MUST pull a full “Lincoln” and close the border, impose martial law, prosecute a war against the communist rebellion without a formal declaration, shred the Communist Manifesto and irrevocably extirpate all principles of communism in America, implement the “manifest tenor” of the Constitution and Bill of Rights including absolute freedom, absolute free enterprise, absolute free markets, absolute private property, and a substantial diminution of taxation and regulation, eliminate the Departments of Labor, Education, Agriculture, Energy, HUD, and EPA, issue the “Deportation Proclamation” deporting all illegal aliens, past and present, including those who illegally pursued citizenship as criminal border crossers and “asylum” seekers who all made false and fraudulent claims of phantom, nonexistent persecution as foreign citizens with no U.S. rights, establish coherent voter qualifications by State legislatures per the Constitution, declare English the sole official language of the United States, suspend habeas corpus, smash opposition printing presses, networks, podcasts, social media platforms, etc., and throw anyone and everyone who opposes him in prison to Save the Union until America is placed squarely back on the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Well Europe is about to loot the central bank and use Russian 200 billion in it and then putin can just turn off the natural gas. .. Musk is attempting to secure American ASSets.
“AMERICANS AND VOTERS WERE INTENDED TO BE EUROPEAN”
The American Founders created and established a nation, its fundamental law, and its population.
Immigrants were intended by the design and legislation of the Founders to comport with the voter qualifications beginning in the 1789 election and the Naturalization Act of 1790.
To vote in early elections, generally by state, citizens must have been “European.”
To be admitted to become citizens, candidates must have been “free white person(s).”
In 1860, Lincoln imposed martial law, suspended habeas corpus, seized control as a tyrannical military dictator, failed to enforce existing immigration law, failed to compassionately repatriate long-suffering abductees, and installed a foreign adversarial 4-million-man standing army on U.S. soil while “fundamentally transforming the United States of America” into a communist country, all to the delight of Karl Marx.

American freedom persisted for a mere 71 years.
Government exists, under the Constitution and Bill of Rights, to provide maximal freedom to individuals while government is severely limited and restricted to facilitating that maximal freedom of individuals through the provision of security and infrastructure.
What “government” has done since Lincoln is subsume America and subjugate Americans, compelling them to incorporate and struggle under the principles of communism, adhering to Marx’s slogan, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs,” and the principles of communism: Central planning (i.e. compulsory solar panels and EVs), control of the means of production (i.e. unconstitutional regulation), redistribution of wealth, and social engineering.
Look around you at the monumental unconstitutional communist governmental complex and the grand communist American welfare state.
All hail Karl Marx, Comrades!!!
I keep telling my Republican friends (I am registered as independent) they can pick their slogan – it can be “The party of the Constitution” or “The.party of Lincoln,” but not both.
Putin is coming to Broadway soon. Putin sings “Blueberry Hill”
He sings better than Biden. He also speaks English better.
You probably LOVED it when Putin murdered Navalny.
English is the official language of the United States of America.
One of the most genuinely evil McCarthyism tactics since 9/11 is “Employment Tampering” – without notice or confrontation, the federal government covertly defames innocent Americans, then the U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security determine if a particular citizen is allowed to earn a livable income and where they are allowed to work.
This evil program has existed under both parties for more than 20 years.
For example:
For 20+ years now. Without accusation, without charge, without judge, without jury and without an official guilty verdict, then Attorney General John Ashcroft destroyed the livelihoods of innocent Americans working in safe white-collar jobs and then only allowed these innocent Americans to work in very dangerous occupations. Many innocent Americans likely injured, disabled or even killed. Ashcroft was actually busted for this by the Ninth Circuit Court Appeals fraudulently abusing the federal “Material Witness Statute”.
After Congress passed and Obama signed a law banning Bush’s failed torture program in 2015, the past decade has been even more insane.
Federal agency heads – instead of issuing official apologies – have taken out torture insurance policies to help protect them from future war crime civil suits for following illegal orders.
In real practice that means a citizen working is only allowed to work in the occupations that federal bureaucrats feel good about (not based on actual safety statistics provided by the Labor Department). Not the occupation the innocent citizen chooses and not always the safest occupation – since their safe white collar jobs were destroyed.
For instance, a rope access professional with over 20 years experience is only allowed to work in the tree care industry or cell towers (the most dangerous occupations) but not allowed to work on high-rise buildings (since they were fraudulently listed as a security risk).
Apparently the CYA solution of the agency heads is to covertly prevent the citizen from working on highrise buildings (to protect the public from a non-threat) but their insurance policy covers them for negligent homicide if the innocent citizens get killed performing tree work or cell tower work. Former AG John Ashcroft probably meant well but this is the result of violating his Oath of Office and violating the U.S. Constitution.
The actual solution is easy but complicated: the DOJ and DHS need to issue official apologies to their crime victims and compensation (where applicable). These innocent Americans on American soil, left some jobs due to assault & battery by Bush’s interrogators up until 2015 when Congress outlawed Bush’s torture program. Then lesser abuses by interrogators from 2015 until today. This requires at the very minimum official apologies from DOJ and DHS simply to repair job histories.
How do we know you didn’t just make all that up? Can you provide sources of information documenting such claims? You did not refer to any or even provide a link.
Rather than unconstitutionally restricting Americans, they should place plumes strategically around the “Middle East of Crazies” and any and all other potentialities.
How is it any skin off your nose if people want to be on Ukraine’s side?

Wrong. We are on the side of the Ukraine. They, like we, want to end the fighting, end the dying and for there to be peace. What your simple mind cannot grasp is this is a senseless war. Would it be great if the Ukrainians could fight the Russians and win? Of course. But the reality, which you continue to ignore, is the Ukraine just does not have the manpower to do it. And putting NATO or American troops on the ground, in the Ukraine is going to lead us to WWIII and possible nuclear war. Being against WWIII and the possibility of a nuclear war is not appeasing Putin. That is called common sense.
The problem is allowing Putin to keep land conquered by force makes WW3 far more likely than what is currently being done. It demonstrates NATO and the West are willing to do almost anything to appease his demands and threats, Demanding a link through the Sulwaki Gap and moving into the Baltics will be the next steps. How many countries are you willing to bargain away for “peace”? How much of the former USSR are you willing to allow him to recreate? Putin has to be driven back to the 91 borders and the line must be fortified so he can never expand outside of Russia ever again. He must be made to understand that troops and weapons in a neighboring country is not a provocation, it’s a deterrent and a warning.
The last thing I want is WW3. We’re sleepwalking into it right now and I say this as a huge Trump supporter. Russians only understand one language and that is force.
That’s pretty speculative, and not self evident at all. Putin has lost hundreds of thousands of troops already and it’s been a bloody three years for both sides. If Ukraine gets security guarantees (like they would from the US under a minerals deal), it seems unlikely Putin would push further. Russia’s security issues and its own national history are uniquely tied to Ukraine as E.M. laid out in detail last night. This is about as far from Hitler’s “lightning war” in spring 1940 as one can imagine. Putin’s threats to use nukes, which I believe are true and not mere bluffing, are tied to the eastward expansion of the war into Russia and the use of western missiles. They have nothing to do with a speculative long-term adventure by Putin westward.
I am guessing you have not been following the events taking place in Transnitria?
Before anyone speculates as to Putin’s aims, one should actually read about their efforts to foment revolution in the former eastern bloc countries. If Putin gets Ukraine, or a substantial part of non-Russian-speaking Ukraine, as is their demand, then Moldova is next.
Europe said they’ve been letting Ukraine kill off as many Russians as possible. They don’t care if Ukraine dies, too. Do you think Germany cares?
As I have stated previously, cease fire, get them to the peace table. Neither side will get everything it wants. Both sides will have to give up something. They will come to a agreement they can both live with. And as it has been pointed out by several, the mineral deal gives the us a vested interest in the Ukraine. American companies, Americans on the ground in the Ukraine. Russia knows any kind of action to put those interests in danger would trigger a US military response.
I don’t agree with you. Putin has only taken lands with Russians in them, or lands that have been in the Russian sphere for a while. Plus, do you really think anyone wants France, Germany or Britain? Or, for that matter, the United States? Anybody wanting any of us, would have to lose a lot of resources in the process, and then, at least here, have to execute about a third of our population to rid us of criminals, the druggies, the lazy, the sexual perverts, and the idiots on the Left.
Why do all that when you have declining populations? Soon, there will be more than enough land and resources for all, when we hit 4 Billion or fewer people on the planet.
Russia has plenty of land now, and once the Russians are secured in Ukraine, there is no reason to go further,
I think the U.S. is better teaming up with Russia as opposed to the creeps in Europe. Until and unless Europe gets its sh!t together.
Anybody wanting any of us, would have to lose a lot of resources in the process, and then, at least here, have to
executesend to Mars aboutatwo- thirds of our population to rid us of criminals, the druggies, the lazy, the sexual perverts, and the idiots on the Left.Shall we start a betting pool on who gets thrown into the two-thirds? I will start it: the idiot Gigi / Franke / Purple Anonymous / Dennis / Wally / Sammy / mindless Leftist trolls…because “love means never having to say you’re sorry”™

Estovir,

If Bezmenov is any guide, then yes, “Mr. Stupid”, Gigi, Bad Anon, George, and the rest are headed for the Gulag at a minimum, and probably worse, The Baseball Bat Testing Field.
It is possible that they could be trained to do simple jobs, like sweeping floors, and emptying bed pans, but they would have to learn new things, like what a woman is, etc.
https://translatorswithoutborders.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Ukraine-Language-Map.pdf
That is the map of most common first languages spoken in Ukraine. That is absolutely not the current map of the front lines.
Try to stop them. It’s not our fight and this is the direct result of failed American leadership in all the last Administrations going as far back as Clinton. Insistence for the Ukraine and Georgia entering into NATO was a sure fire way to war. Various bureaucrats in the foreign affairs departments in the past have repeatedly warned against this but of course the leadership of idiots always prevails. It’s done now, Ukraine is out of our money, out of our equipment and out of eligible men for further slaughter in their army. Russia won, the Bear will now do what is best for the Bear, there’s nothing there worth spending more money or any American lives.
One has to evaluate based on time. If one accepts your opinion, the risk of WW3 is substantial in the early timeframe because the issue of Crimea represents an existential threat to Russia. In the long term, there isn’t as much of a difference in what you think because the existential threats to Russia have been eliminated.
The threat of Ukraine entering NATO was a significant issue in this war.
No. It wasn’t the threat of NATO. It was the threat of democracy. The last thing Putin wants is people who speak essentially the same language and share a similar culture, live in affluence next to his dictatorship where they could infect his people with ideas of freedom.
I think Zelensky today is a strongman, unrelated to democracy. In any event, the threat to Russia was an opposing army 300 miles from Moscow. They have similar security feelings as we do, and that is why the Cuban missile crisis could have caused WW3.
Listen to Douglas Murray.
“That is called common sense.”
Those advocating WW3 side with hate for mankind and should never be in the position of leadership. I don’t like what Russia did, but common sense says that I need a game plan, and the only game plan of those who want unfailing support of Ukraine is that Ukraine be made whole again with Crimea.
The writing on the wall tells us that WW3 is a likelihood if we push to return it to Ukraine. Russia considers that eventuality today an existential threat to its existence. That means they will likely protect what they have, even with tactical nuclear weapons. Suppose such weapons were used on the battlefield. Would these great supporters of death and destruction push for our use of such weapons with the significant possibility of nuclear weapons being exchanged across the Atlantic? Common sense needs to prevail.
So when Putin is not appeased but, what, pacicified, and next he goes after the Baltic states, then what?
We just keep capitulating?
Or we finish the job now. The Russian military is on the brink of collapse. Why give them an off ramp?
If it means WW3 so be it. Let’s get it over with. But I doubt it happens. Putin will back down because at the core of his being he’s a sniveling little coward just like Trump.
Yes, the deep global state wants that to happen. Zelensky is a cog in the wheel. They aren’t done looting yet. Norway has deep pockets to pick.
Who are you talking to? Professor Turley? He doesn’t read these comments. Or if he does, he never responds to them.
He doesn’t read these comments.
Yes, he does. He has referred to forum comments in his blog articles in the past and at one time ranked who the highest commenters were.
Hi JT 👋🏽
“Now, Zelenskyy will have no choice but to back down and accept Trump’s terms.
But here’s the genius part—Trump is actually protecting Ukraine without dragging the U.S. into war.
By negotiating a mineral deal, Trump ensures that Americans will be involved in Ukraine’s mining industry. This prevents Russia from launching an invasion, because attacking Ukraine would mean endangering American lives—something that would force the U.S. to respond.
Trump played both sides like a master chess player. In the end, Zelenskyy will have no choice but to concede, because without U.S. support, Ukraine cannot win a prolonged war against Russia.
And once U.S. companies have mining operations in Ukraine, Putin will be unable to attack without triggering massive international consequences.
Don’t underestimate Donald Trump. In this game of chess, he’s 10 moves ahead of everyone.”
— Michael McCune
But it only works if Zelenskyy doesn’t insist on dictating terms to both Russia and the U.S. and making NATO membership a must-have criterion.
Ellen,
Right! But Zelensky’s position is not looking so good. Weak I would say. He even admitted with the the backing of the US, it is pretty much over for him. I am watching the UK, EU meeting, them even declaring they are willing to put boots on the ground and planes in the air. Okay. I want to see them do it. Without any US backing. Then maybe they just might start spending the kind of money on their own defense forces rather than expecting America to bail them out or do the fighting for them.
Upstate, I Presume you’re middle aged? You should learned by now. NO SECOND CHANCES. ZELENSKY IS OUT.
“How is it any skin off your nose if people want to be on Ukraine’s side?”
The side of the People of Ukraine? Who are very much fewer than when this war began: between deaths and emigration, the Ukrainian population has been reduced from 40MM to 18MM (btw, many of the emigrants have relocated to – wait for it – Russia)! Or the side of an a$$-clown dictator whose path to power was paved by a coup engineered by Victoria Nuland and Barack Obama, and our glorious CIA?
How about reality. The world can Rev up their planes and descend upon Russia and annihilate them. Then Rev up again and annihilate Gaza.
“The world can Rev up their planes and descend upon Russia and annihilate them.”
Sure. And in spite of the fact that Russia has nuclear-capable ultrasonic missiles that we have no means to intercept, and glide bombers that are nearly as elusive, Russia will just sit there and take its “annihilation” without responding in kind. You are a comic and pathetic moron.
Members of the MAGA echo chamber: your president, the man you admire, is a HUGE name-caller, so it is hyprocritical of you to accuse anyone else of name-calling, you fat pigs. 🙂
So funny I forgot to laugh
@Anonymous
MAGA certainly exists, but if you think that was the only contingent voting against ‘the blue’ this November, man, you are whistling in the dark. It was in fact, small. This was ALL of us that haven’t drunk the globalist Kool-Aid, and likely 50% of us are NOT conservative by political affiliation. Get bent. You lost. Bigly. Your party will never hold power again, there has been an honest to goodness awakening in this country, and whatever is printed on our voter registrations matters exactly zero.
James,
Well said. As long as these woke leftists continue to double down on their stupid, that gives me faith that they will continue to lose. They try to make the term MAGA as if it were a bad thing. It is not. Has a lot more to do with common sense than anything the Democrats have right now. For that matter, the Democrats have nothing. Dumb comments and juvenile comments are all they have. Just look at the anony comment you responded to.
“This was ALL of us that haven’t drunk the globalist Kool-Aid, and likely 50% of us are NOT conservative by political affiliation.”
Exactly. On a typical political spectrum diagram, I would be somewhere between small “l” libertarian and minarchist. I have always had slightly more in common with conservatives than liberals, but only slightly. At one time, I was a Ayn Rand Objectivist, a description that I moved away from only reluctantly over the years (I nevertheless think that Rand got a great deal more right than she did wrong). So I don’t share a tremendous amount of common philosophical ground with most who would describe themselves as “MAGA”. But the situation in this nation had become so critical that I felt it necessary to put aside considerable differences in order to try to salvage a rapidly deteriorating situation that seemed to be approaching the point of no return. I am certain I will have a number of vehement disagreements with how Trump conducts his four years in office, but I must admit that to this point, the positives far outweigh the negatives.
“I would be somewhere between small “l” libertarian and minarchist.”
Number 6, I have three philosophies: classical liberalism, pragmatism and survival. Based on all three, MAGA is the best thing we have today. Most of Trump’s ideas seem to work well with my philosophies.
it’s gigi.
Can we all agree both sides violate laws and the Constitution. If we continue to just point out each side’s lawlessness, we normalize lawlessness – since everybody does it. One thing everyone knows for sure, Congress won’t enact laws to start prosecuting themselves.
The goal should be future reforms to move in the direction of a constitutional rule of law, not making lawlessness the norm.
A good start would be the U.S. Supreme Court loudly and clearly stating America doesn’t have dictators. Presidents must follow the U.S. Constitution and follow laws passed by Congress going forward. Congress legislates and courts adjudicate, presidents follow those laws without violating the Constitution.
The next step is for Congress to officially apologize and compensate (where necessary) America’s 20+ years of lawlessness since 9/11. Make whole government personnel loyal to their Oath of Office that were harmed by disloyal supervisors (John Kiriakou of the CIA refusing to torture, Michael German of the FBI, Chelsea Manning reporting the disloyalty of war crimes and even private citizens like former CEO Joseph Nacchio refusing to commit felony domestic spying on behalf of the Bush Administration and over 40,000 regular Americans blacklisted after 9/11).
Focus on the future reforms! Both parties break laws and violate the Constitution.
I wonder how long it is until Zelensky gets fragged?
Floyd,
In another comment the other day, I mentioned a possibility that there might be others out there to include some Ukrainians who just might want him dead. Personally, I would rather see a ceasefire, followed by a peace deal. Then the Ukraine can return to normal, non-martial law society. Have an election and see him get voted out in a massive landslide.
Don’t be surprised if the Russians drop a missile on him. Zelensky is now an impediment to ending the war. I don’t see Europe doing much beyond posturing.
“here might be others out there to include some Ukrainians who just might want him dead. ”
I think it’s worse than you indicate. Any of the multitude of Ukrainians who have lost loved ones and/or material goods in the war could have motive to whack him. Any of the behind the scenes Ukrainian moguls who have been enriching themselves from the war might also have motive, either because he is no longer useful, or because he knows too much about them. Any remnants of CIA (et al) operatives who instigated the conflict might similarly desire him to shuffle off, tout de suite. My best guess is that his only hope is if he has stolen enough aid money to buy a remote tropical island somewhere and to pay a competent security force to guard him on it. Otherwise he may be getting intimately acquainted with one James Riddle Hoffa in the near future.
Number 6,
I did consider the family aspect. The Ukrainian moguls, did not think of that. Good one!
Were you in the Nam? There was a guy in our platoon who had 1/6 etched into a 79 round. 1 was 1st platoon and 6 was the lieutenant platoon leader. Viet Nam was crazy in all respects. The day my hometown buddy was blown up, I was hoping in despair that Nixon would nuke Hanoi and end the war that minute – no more meat grinder! Of course it went on and on until 1975. For what???
“Were you in the Nam?… Of course it went on and on until 1975. For what???”
That was the only lottery I ever had any luck in, but I’ll settle for that. I had a number of friends who went. Some came home in bags, some were still walking. But no one I knew who was over there, not even those who served in completely non-combat roles, came back undamaged.
That’s funny. In my case, the damage is tears. When those memories surface, my tears well up and flow. I once took a dust-off back for x-rays, and there was a severely disarticulated young man on a stretcher in front; when they took him off at Graves Registration, his arm fell off the stretcher and dangled on a string of skin; the attendants had to grasp the arm, put it back on the stretcher, and cover it with his poncho, then they went on their way, as did we all.
Floyd’s question about Zelenskyy being “fragged” gave me flashbacks!
Going to double dip: yes, the modern left are absolutely in line with McCarthy, but this time they are literally coming after anyone that disagrees with them, regardless of ideology; McCarthy was at least focused, even if he was a fool.
The modern left are the 21st century fascists, and we do not need their brand of globalist communism in the West, and they possess no self-awareness. If America stands on its own, then so be it. Idiot, ‘educated’ (read: indoctrinated) children aside, we have been through this before, and the rest of us who know better simply aren’t going there again. We will likely be taking care of that cohort until we die, they are uniquely ill-equipped to deal with reality in any form whatsoever (and a few of them now sit in Congress). We didn’t ask for it, but we are going to have to be the parents these fools never had. And it will be tough. The rest of us are not going to hand over the keys to the kingdom, and the various actors can cry all they like.
The way the left is currently *tripling* down, I fully expect them to lose in America, where have an *actual* 1A, and the rest of the Western world can weep and thrash like toddlers all it likes. This is mental illness, folks, honestly and truly. And it is now or never for us.

Huh, just spam. I was wondering how a Biden admin ad for nuclear waste engineers and air traffic controllers was still floating around.
“I was wondering how a Biden admin ad for nuclear waste engineers and air traffic controllers was still floating around.”
I thought it might be an ad for the 2028 Democratic Party nominee for President. Especially after seeing that Tim Walz has volunteered for the nomination…
As though the left can see and analyze anything that embraces America first.
Musk stands on terra firma. . . . Ilhan Omar does not.
Our outspoken leftist friend in Congress, Ilhan Omar, became a citizen in 2000 and became a member of our Congress 19 years later. Therefore, Musk could have been elected to Congress three years ago (after 19 years as a citizen).
