Gilded Cage: Malaysian Royal Family Accused of Drugging and Torturing Princess

100px-KelantanWith the world still talking about UAE Crown Prince Sheik Issa bin Zayed al Nahyan and is torture videos, another royal family has been accused of torture and abuses. Teenage model Manohara Odelia Pinot was only 16 when she was married to Tengku Temenggong Muhammad Fakhry, a prince of Malaysia’s Kelantan State. While in Singapore, she was able to escape with the help of police and tell an incredible story of being drugged, tortured, and confined by the family.

Fakhry’s father is Sultan Ismail Petra Shah II and Manohara says that his family participated in the abuse, including her husband cutting body with a razor. At a
public speech before he became ill, the Sultan warned elected officials not to abuse their powers and privileges: ““I wish to remind all elected representatives that the mandate given them by the people is a responsibility and not a coveted luxury and golden opportunity to further your self-interests.” It appears that the same standard does not apply to his own family.

Manohara has an American father, Reiner Pinot Noack, who reportedly opposed the marriage.

She recounts however she was injected twice with drugs when she tried to escape. Her opportunity came when the Sultan had an heart attack and had to go to Singapore for treatment. The police threatened to have her husband arrested if he did not let her go.

  1. This is not the first story of this kind about the Malaysian royal family. Read about Australian Jacqueline Pascarl’s incredibly similar experiences while married to yet another Maladian prince.

  2. A woman being abused?!?!?! How terrible!! She was also injected with drugs!!! A woman should not treated like that!

  3. Just to clarify that Manohara’s father is an American George Mann, but she bears her stepfather surname (Reiner Noack-Pinot)

  4. no women have human rights and women rights also,,, if you respect your mum you should indeed respect women also,,, manohara has been treated like an animal,, thank God she got help from the US embassy and Singapore police also,,, I just wish the prince could be arrested ASAP

  5. When will the world wake up and realize that this is how many women, even “royal” women are treated in many other countries. It’s terrible.

Check out Mouna Ayoub and a book she wrote called La Vérité.
