Fifteen-Year-Old Girl Dies in Exorcism Rite

A local priest reportedly succeeded in stopping the convulsions of Sangeeta Persaud, who he accused for being filled with the devil in Guyana. The 15-year-old girl died as the priest, family, and friends worked to rid her of demonic possession.

Neighbors have stated that the priest convinced them that the girl’s problems were spiritual not medical.

The priest, Ewart Cummings led a five hour prayer vigil that involved pressing her stomach and head while making her drink an anointing oil. Cummings insisted “I did nothing wrong. I just responded as pastor of the church. … Ungodly people would not understand certain things like driving out spirits.”

  1. Ungodly people would not understand certain things like driving out spirits, like godly people couldn`t comprehend the intricate workings of perfectly natural diseases, disasters and facts of life.

Awesome reverse logic he shows, since man always attributed anything he couldn`t understand to the Gods…

The dumber you are, the more you believe in God, it`s just a fact of human nature…

  2. I also love that the “Pastor” went with “you just wouldn’t understand” as his retreat point.

“Those filthy Jews are ruining Germany and you just wouldn’t understand this if you’re not a ‘good’ German.”

It’s not history that repeats per se. It’s human stupidity.

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.” – Albert Einstein

“The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity.” – Harlan Ellison

  3. Evidently the girl “had had a bad cold for several years“. They were living in a wood shack as electricity and plumbing were being installed in the main house. Nothing to see here, folks, move along.

Don’t forget to always praise the church for its outreach missions! 🙂

  4. And many people have different talents. Maybe it is time for new work….
