Texas Will Not Revoke License of Bigot Gun Instructor Who Agrees To Train “The Enemy”

The Texas Dept. of Public Safety will not revoke or suspend the license of Crockett Keller, a handgun instructor who ran a radio ad telling Muslims and non-Christian Arabs that he would not teach them how to handle a firearm. Keller has agreed that he will train Muslims while adding that he views them as “the enemy.”

The DPS statement said Crockett Keller agreed that he would not refuse handgun instruction “to anyone based on national origin, race or religion.” Note that did not include political associations so liberal Muslims might have to shop around.

Keller insists that “I’m not a mean individual,” but wanted the world to know that liberals and Muslims are not welcomed. His commercial stated that “If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner-in-chief, please do not take this class . . . Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you this class. Once again, with no shame, I am Crockett Keller.”

As long as Muslims do not mind being called “enemies” of the nation, they can enjoy Keller’s classes. Of course, all of those “enemies” serving in our military in Iraq and Afghanistan will not need the training since they are already defending Keller’s right to denounce people on the basis of their faith.

  1. SwM,

Tex is there (in Cols). I put in the time; he put in the $’s. He keeps calling with updates but it’s hard to hear cause of the background noise. He’s with a bunch of firefighters who promised to take care of him. 😉

Looks like 2 (union busting) is doing quite well for us and 1(judges etc) is also giving unexpected good results but 3 (healthcare) is thus far going to the crazies. It was a a tactical decision to concentrate on 2. 3 is just one of those throw the teabaggers a bone ploys that won’t stand up to legal challenge if it passes anyway. we’ll see what happens to 3 when the more liberal districts kick in.

So far the % on both 1 & 2 is in the high 60’s

  2. At the time I write this, Prop. 26 in Mississippi is losing. That is the one that defines a “person” as a fertilized egg. Pushed heavily by Don Wildmon and his AFA group, also by fundamentalist churches in Mississippi, which appears to be most of the churches.

From WAPT, Channel 16 in Jackson, MS:

    Person at Fertilization
    Mississippi – 362 of 1876 Precincts Reporting – 19%
    No 47,555 57%
    Yes 35,272 43%

  3. Get better soon, Blouise! I’m sending XXXOOO and a suggestion of a healthy glass of warm lemonade! Have that big strong silent type man of yours make you some if you don’t feel like hitting the kitchen. 😀

  4. SwM & raff,

I have a bad cold so couldn’t attend the party down in Columbus. Everybody is there so I have to watch the special link to get the results. It was a beautiful day and the polls were very busy here in my neck of the woods.

“It should be his right to exclude whoever he wishes from his gun classes. Maybe it’s bigoted, racist, and ultimately wrong, but it’s his right,”

Funny, I missed those rights somewhere along the line. You certainly have the largely unfettered right to think and speak these stupid and ultimately life-defeating ideas, but you have no right to discriminate in commerce against these folks. Boynton v. Virginia, 364 U.S. 454 (1960)

  6. I’m kind of angered that he relented! It should be his right to exclude whoever he wishes from his gun classes. Maybe it’s bigoted, racist, and ultimately wrong, but it’s his right, and I’m more concerned that a private citizen exercising his right to free speech should be forced by the Texas DPS to recant his statement. Free speech isn’t just for those with whom we agree.

  7. raf, Don’t know for sure, but the unions are supposed to win. They have really worked hard. Blouise will probably check in.

  8. Kenergy599,

I think many states have that distinction…Take Wisconsin, Minnesota, Florida for instance….I will give you…there are a lot of folks in Texas that are all hat….both male and female….
