A video has emerged from last St. Patrick’s Day that shows a brutal attack on a tourist in Baltimore who is beaten, robbed, and stripped naked as a crowd stands around and laughs. No one reportedly called police and someone stood filming the scene of utter inhuman and depraved conduct by the crowd. [Update: A second video of the brutal attack has emerged]
On the video, the tourist is largely passive when he walks a few feet toward a man, who proceeds to hit him in the face and causing the victim to hit the ground with considerable force. The man appears dazed as people proceed to beat him and steal his clothes and belongings. The tourist is stripped of his car keys, watch, money and iPhone.
Until the video was released, the man never knew what happened. He woke up at his hotel with cuts and bruises and no memory of the horrific attack.
Obviously, the place to start is the person who thought this was a funny scene and posted the video on YouTube. Then there are the people who brag and laugh about the attack on the video.
While the victim appears white and his attackers black, there has been no suggestion that the attack was a hate crime or racially motivated. There has also been relatively little outrage nationally about this attack.
I count at least a dozen separate crimes on the film from repeated assaults to robbery by at least seven different people. Some, upon seeing the man in a helpless state, immediately walk over to strip him of any valuables rather than offer assistance or call the police. It is the lack of humanity shown in the film that makes these people so dangerous to society — they show no feelings or sympathy for the victim who is merely an object to be taunted and abused.

F… N….:
Takes quite a bit of banked hate –either suffered or inflicted — to spew that bile. Feel sorry for yourself. You deserve it.
I see another apparent white trash has weighed in. Your rant is duly noted and promtply ignored. As Gene said, you cannot fix stupid.
Do you kiss your sister with that mouth? Or would your mom get jealous? Oh, that’s right! A person can’t be jealous of themselves.
Another bunch of fucking monkeys .. Go back to Africa dumb niggers. Fucking niggers
Chris McCauley, you still are incorrect.
Watch the video again. The guy who punches him reached into his pocket and either stole something or tried to steal something. At that point, of course he’s going to advance at the guy – to get his shit back. The guy in the green shirt was the victim here… Stop being an apologist.
As for “going all over” – I live in Maryland and have never “gone all over” to drink. I drink in Baltimore. Or, if there is a show in DC, I go to DC.
He was a tourist and fits the definition of one, and the police are treating him exactly as that… And a tourist getting beaten up like this looks bad.
This is totally disgusting. These animals must be caught and prosecuted. Reminded me of the attack of dead soldiers by mobs in Irag when they were dragged through the street then hung from a bridge. They’re lucky this wasn’t me they attacked. Justice would be swift and final. Detective Monroe doesn’t have to wait for the public to id these scumbags. Look at the damn video.
Be vigilent America.
Gene, remember Flip Wilson? He said, “Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone.” I think that applies here.
Gene,
Are there “good” poo flinging racist sister-loving illiterate monkeys? 🙂
Yeah, I have to agree OS. There are a lot of idiots
voiceing their opinionsventing their unreasoning hatred on this issue. Stupid bad poo flinging racist sister-loving illiterate monkeys, the lot of them. As Ron White says, “You can’t fix stupid.”Gene, looks as if the haters have come out in force on this issue. I have no time for that racist and extremist shit. Life is too short to even bother reading that verbal diarrhea. To call some of those comments brain farts is wrong, because to have a brain fart, the first requirement is to have a brain.
pete,
Does calling them “bad monkeys” or “poo flinging monkeys” or “stupid monkeys” count? I know it’s a terrible thing to say about monkeys, but it’s as close as I get to calling a misbehaving crowd of any color “animals”.
Horrible and disturbing.
I wonder who this fellow was and what he was doing amongst this rowdy crowd?
ever notice that crowds of white people doing something unlawful are rarely referred to as “animals”.
Curious how nobody really wants to implicate the historic racism endemic in Boston, from it’s revered sports franchises down? Anybody ever read Malcolm X’s accounts of life for a Black man in Boston where he learned the streets? Remember Reginald Denny anybody?
How about some sense of historic context.
surprised that they didn’t have their “hoodies” over their heads so that they couldn’t be identified, thank you Mr Obama for “bringing the Country together”
As long as Eric Holder is Attorney General, incidents like THIS will never be called “Hate Crimes” It only counts when a White guy is the agressor!
Not sure why Chris McCauley is trolling this blog — the video shows the man had his pocket picked by one of the people who ended up assaulting him. If McCauley knows so much about assault, he should realize that that person was the initial aggressor. (And McCauley, it is Professor Turley, not “Mr.”). He is best ignored.
Well said Mike A. This victim was just that. Mr. McCauley wants us to believe that he was the aggressor. The video shows otherwise.
The victim was just standing there. A couple of semi-nude individuals were performing lude acts in front of him, so the victim looks to just walk away. He is then punched in the face, falls to the ground and the crowd attacks him. Looks like we are going backwards in time as far as behavior and manners are concerned. NONE! How did your mother raise you? What if that was you or your brother or relative? Shame on all of those people and passers by.
This incident does not require any particular contextual analysis. There are those who enjoy assaulting others; there are those who enjoy watching. The former are sadistic criminals; the latter are sadistic cowards. I’ve always been opposed to the notion of “hate crimes” because I believe that virtually all crime is a function of hatred. It is only the object of the hatred that varies.
