We have been discussing the alarming and baffling migration of Muslim men and women from the West to join the blood-soaked Islamic State or ISIS forces as they behead and murder their way through captured territories. While the vast majority of Muslims are disgusted by ISIS, the chilling reality is that there is a large portion of people who do not just support but long to behead and torture other people. Oklahoma is facing precisely that reality in two cases involving Muslim men who appear to identify with ISIS and relish the concept of beheading people in the name of Islam. It is a fatal attraction that may explain the thousands flocking from the West to the ranks of the Islamic State.
In Oklahoma City, Jacob Mugambi Muriithi (left above), 30, is being held on a charge of a terrorism charge after he allegedly threatened to behead a co-worker. He was located less than 20 miles from where Alton Alexander Nolen (right above) who is accused of beheading a co-worker just the day before the threats were allegedly made.
Nolen had only recently converted to Islam in prison but immediately took to the aspects of the religion that he viewed as justifying murder and decapitations. Writing under the name “Jah’Keem Yisrael” on his Facebook page, he wrote various incendiary and bizarre messages:
“A Future Prophecy Revelation 18:8 She (The statue Of Liberty) is going into flames. She and anybody who’s with her.”
“AMERICA SO CALL HELPS IRAQ (WHICH NOT)- WELL WHY CANT U HELP THE GAZA CITIZENS AGAINST ISRAEL…AMERICA AND ISRAEL ARE WICKED. WAKE UP MUSLIMS!!!”
“I JST WANT TO SAY AS AN MUSLIM WE DNT CELEBRATE AMERIKAS HOLIDAYS.”
“KAFIR KAFIRS MEANS SOMEONES WHO DISAGREES WITH ISLAM. JST CAUSE YOU AS-SALAAMU ALAKIUN EVERY MORNING DNT MEANS YOUR AN MUSLIM THANK YOU THO.”
“Ima Tell You Off Top Im Not Your Friend My Friends Are At The Mosque All Around The World.”
“Im an Muslim from the Tribe of Judah who Was Pretty Much Raised In Killeen Texas. My Ancestors Who Are The True Jews Here In America Today Are Originally From Israel. They Were Bombed Outta Israel By The Roman Catholic Army So They Fled To Egypt And The Afrikans Sold Us To The White Man As Slaves Along With Any Other Black Person Here In Amerika Today Aka The True Jews From Israel. Our Ancestors Are Originally From Israel. Were Not from Afrika.”
“You know what gets me about Christians is that they blaspheme saying that Jesus (pbus Ameen) is God. If Jesus (pbuh Ameen) was God why when you claim he was on a cross he quoted Quote’ Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing? With this said he can’t be the Savior. All Praise To Allah,”
In one message, he declared “Islam Will Dominate the World. Freedom Can Go To Hell.”
He had been trying to convert people at his work and was telling co-workers about how women should be stoned for committing certain offenses. After he was fired, he returned and beheaded a female co-worker and stabbed another woman. After beheading Colleen Hufford, 54, and stabbing Traci Johnson’, 43, in the attack at Vaughan Foods store, he was shot and wounded by off-duty sheriff’s deputy and company CEO Mark Vaughan.
Nolen has a long previous criminal record including assault and battery on an officer, possession of a controlled substance, and escaping from detention.
Muriithi is identified as a native of Kenya who worked at Bellevue Nursing Home in northwest Oklahoma City. He also was trying to convert people and praised Islamic State for beheading Christians. He is quoted as saying that it “is just what we do.” He allegedly told the victim that he was going to cut her head off with “a blade” and said that, after cutting off her head, he would post it on Facebook. Islamic State fighters have been using social media to parade the heads of murdered captives.
Both Muriithi and Nolen are disturbing examples of the resource of disaffected, marginal, and unhinged individuals who swell the ranks of the Islamic State. For them, religion is an excuse to vent their anger and to kill in the name of faith. It is precisely the dehumanizing elements of the ISIS beliefs that attract them — to be able to treat women and other humans as undeserving of mercy or sympathy. Religion is the not the cause but the vehicle for their violent expression.
Olly, I’ve said it before. Liberals always point to previous bad behavior to justify or deflect current bad behavior. Throw in some moral equivalency and their argument is complete. They hate the fact that Christians aren’t the terrorists they want them to be and they really can’t stomach that the second amendment saved the second woman’s life.
I posted this in another thread but it’s worth repeating:

DBQ, really? LOL. Am I wrong in interpreting this comment to mean I was being unreasonable? How utterly dishonest. At least I used part of the word ” reason” in my paraphrasing. Oy. Again perhaps you should let Olly speak for himself. He’s a big boy, I think. No strike that, actually it’s become tiresome.

Jim22,
I actually thought her first post demonstrated she had developed some reason and then came her second post to prove that thought wrong.

Thanks DBQ; I missed her post altogether.
Annie,
Unreasonable – as when your ability to use reason is overcome by your emotions when the subject involves religion. Your first post had demonstrated reason but obviously you weren’t able to resist your emotional side: “Ok, I’m gonna say it….”
You couldn’t help yourself. Nuff said.

Olly now, THIS your comment above is simpl unreasonable. I doubt that MOST reasonable people would’ve come to the same conclusion. THAT is the test. What would MOST people deduct? Or are you the aberration?
@ annie
Niether Olly or myself have said that your post was unreasonable.

Ok, I’m gonna say it….it’s a fundamental adherence to religious beliefs that seem to cause so many of the problems. A more literal take on the nutty stuff in religious texts might be a better fit for today’s world.”
You said “DBQ, is there something unreasonable about this comment of mine? I’m seriously curious as to what exactly could be construed as unreasonable here? What do you think Olly found unreasonable about this comment? (As long as your’e speaking for Olly)”
In fact I made no comment about that post at all. None. So do not put words into my mouth.
I merely questioned your statement that Olly said ““It’s reasonable to take the Bible literally? Are you serious? ”” when I did not see those words written by him at all. That seems to be your interpretation or misinterpretation of his comment.
I would not presume to speak for Olly. I’m quite sure he can do that for himself.
It’s not worth debating with those who are dishonest debaters. It’s a huge waste of time.

How can I misquote something if I copy and paste it?
You can’t change history . . .

OMG Karen, do you really NOT know what you are doing here? Why do you put the words just as bad” in quotes? Where did I say “just as bad”? You seriously don’t see what you did wrong here?
It’s interesting that some here must resort to misrepresenting the comment of the poster they are trying to refute. It’s also interesting that the ones who do this routinely are the same two people. I do suspect this must be something hat is taught to them somewhere, or they must have the need to resort to such dishonesty to make their point. Now I expect someone to cut and paste my comment word for word and then go on to double down on the misrepresentation. It’s happened so many times now I know the ‘drill’, lol.
SWM: True, as I’ve stated before, there are many moderate Muslims living here in the US. Heck, I knew one who was arrested in Iran visiting relatives because she wore nail polish and was in a car with a man with a different last name than hers (a maternal cousin.)
Muslims vary in beliefs as do Christians and Jews. As to the Sisters of Charity, many fundamentalist christians don’t even think the good sisters are christian.
How can I misquote something if I copy and paste it?
You can’t change history . . .
Happy:
“This must stop. It is about Terrorism. not Muslims.”
No, that is incorrect. It is about terrorism specifically in the name of radical Islam. This is not the case of someone becoming a homicidal maniac who just happened to be a Muslim. They are SPECIFICALLY doing this in the name of Allah, and in support of a radical Muslim cause that hates the West as being a non-Muslim nation.
They were not fine until the fall of the Shah. The Shah was a reformer. He took the sooks away from the province of the Imams, and he pissed them off. The Imams made a concerted effort to get him out and RE-take control of Iran. They contributed to the propaganda that fooled Carter et al into believing he was a threat. And Sharia Law has always abused human rights. A member of my own family personally witnessed the beheading of 2 gay men. He was also there for the fall of the Shah.
And prior to this, the various tribes were held under an iron fist by the Ottoman Empire. The various Crusades crushed the most massive Muslim expansion, but even after the last one ended, Christians were kidnapped and enslaved by Muslims.
This is just the most recent attempt at extremist Muslim expansion, and if we ignore this it will just be harder to stop later.
Thanks DBQ; I missed her post altogether.
Annie,

Karen, once again, you use quotes to MISQUOTE another commenter, me. Do you not see anything wrong with this? I understand this is what you WISH I said, but I didn’t. I do however point out the dangers of fundamentalism EVERY chance I get.
Annie – okay, we get it, you had a horrible childhood and were forced to go to a fundamentalist church that seems to have mentally abused you weekly. We have the picture. We have had the picture for a long time. Not all childhoods are perfect. You are an adult now. Get over it!
Paul that’s pretty uncivil and it assumes a great deal.
Annie:
You said, “Ok, I’m gonna say it….it’s a fundamental adherence to religious beliefs that seem to cause so many of the problems.”
You’re not the only one claiming Christians are “just as bad,” however. There are many on this blog.
And so the Amish are the most obvious example that fundamentalism by itself does not lend itself to violence, or that Christians who live in a strict society are “just as bad.” There are many other examples. You don’t see the Sisters of Charity decapitating anyone, and yet they are a strict sect. Cloistered nuns live in an insulated Christian society, and yet they don’t stone anyone.
So anyone who claims that Jews and Christians are “just as bad” please consider some facts and deal with the problem of Muslim extremism straight on, without these distracting non sequiturs or red herrings.
Olly, first things first, what is unreasonable about my comment @ 9:10. I’d like to know you have a rhyme and reason for saying the comment was unreasonable.

annie – could we just deal with the problem at hand?
Annie,
Provide examples of ANY legislation requiring non-believers accept religious practices only. Conversely, has there been any legislation requiring believers accept secular practices only?
Olly – true. The Weather Underground is a great example of how fanaticism leads to violence in secular beliefs, as well. And when fanaticism infiltrates government, it is a recipe for disaster. Nazis, Stalin, and Chairman Mao all utilized fanaticism and government control to do great evil on a massive scale.
Karen – can we say Pol Pot or Kim Il Un (who seems under the weather because he ate the lot of cheese).
“When’s the last time Christians stoned anyone? ” karen Not recently that I know of, but some fundy christians like Rick Perry seem to enjoy executing people even if they are innocent.
