We have been discussing the alarming and baffling migration of Muslim men and women from the West to join the blood-soaked Islamic State or ISIS forces as they behead and murder their way through captured territories. While the vast majority of Muslims are disgusted by ISIS, the chilling reality is that there is a large portion of people who do not just support but long to behead and torture other people. Oklahoma is facing precisely that reality in two cases involving Muslim men who appear to identify with ISIS and relish the concept of beheading people in the name of Islam. It is a fatal attraction that may explain the thousands flocking from the West to the ranks of the Islamic State.
In Oklahoma City, Jacob Mugambi Muriithi (left above), 30, is being held on a charge of a terrorism charge after he allegedly threatened to behead a co-worker. He was located less than 20 miles from where Alton Alexander Nolen (right above) who is accused of beheading a co-worker just the day before the threats were allegedly made.
Nolen had only recently converted to Islam in prison but immediately took to the aspects of the religion that he viewed as justifying murder and decapitations. Writing under the name “Jah’Keem Yisrael” on his Facebook page, he wrote various incendiary and bizarre messages:
“A Future Prophecy Revelation 18:8 She (The statue Of Liberty) is going into flames. She and anybody who’s with her.”
“AMERICA SO CALL HELPS IRAQ (WHICH NOT)- WELL WHY CANT U HELP THE GAZA CITIZENS AGAINST ISRAEL…AMERICA AND ISRAEL ARE WICKED. WAKE UP MUSLIMS!!!”
“I JST WANT TO SAY AS AN MUSLIM WE DNT CELEBRATE AMERIKAS HOLIDAYS.”
“KAFIR KAFIRS MEANS SOMEONES WHO DISAGREES WITH ISLAM. JST CAUSE YOU AS-SALAAMU ALAKIUN EVERY MORNING DNT MEANS YOUR AN MUSLIM THANK YOU THO.”
“Ima Tell You Off Top Im Not Your Friend My Friends Are At The Mosque All Around The World.”
“Im an Muslim from the Tribe of Judah who Was Pretty Much Raised In Killeen Texas. My Ancestors Who Are The True Jews Here In America Today Are Originally From Israel. They Were Bombed Outta Israel By The Roman Catholic Army So They Fled To Egypt And The Afrikans Sold Us To The White Man As Slaves Along With Any Other Black Person Here In Amerika Today Aka The True Jews From Israel. Our Ancestors Are Originally From Israel. Were Not from Afrika.”
“You know what gets me about Christians is that they blaspheme saying that Jesus (pbus Ameen) is God. If Jesus (pbuh Ameen) was God why when you claim he was on a cross he quoted Quote’ Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing? With this said he can’t be the Savior. All Praise To Allah,”
In one message, he declared “Islam Will Dominate the World. Freedom Can Go To Hell.”
He had been trying to convert people at his work and was telling co-workers about how women should be stoned for committing certain offenses. After he was fired, he returned and beheaded a female co-worker and stabbed another woman. After beheading Colleen Hufford, 54, and stabbing Traci Johnson’, 43, in the attack at Vaughan Foods store, he was shot and wounded by off-duty sheriff’s deputy and company CEO Mark Vaughan.
Nolen has a long previous criminal record including assault and battery on an officer, possession of a controlled substance, and escaping from detention.
Muriithi is identified as a native of Kenya who worked at Bellevue Nursing Home in northwest Oklahoma City. He also was trying to convert people and praised Islamic State for beheading Christians. He is quoted as saying that it “is just what we do.” He allegedly told the victim that he was going to cut her head off with “a blade” and said that, after cutting off her head, he would post it on Facebook. Islamic State fighters have been using social media to parade the heads of murdered captives.
Both Muriithi and Nolen are disturbing examples of the resource of disaffected, marginal, and unhinged individuals who swell the ranks of the Islamic State. For them, religion is an excuse to vent their anger and to kill in the name of faith. It is precisely the dehumanizing elements of the ISIS beliefs that attract them — to be able to treat women and other humans as undeserving of mercy or sympathy. Religion is the not the cause but the vehicle for their violent expression.
No one is evangelizing secularism. Straw man.
Karen,
It’s as predictable as the sunrise that if religion is mentioned there will be those that seize the opportunity to evangelize secularism. In my opinion, it is unreasonable to expect any amount of reason or logic will convince them one can be for religious freedom AND not want state-sponsored religion. That is a “house-divided” position any true believer in natural rights should ascribe to. So, as long as they are shadowboxing their own demons, we should leave them to it.
Happypappies, I’ve been agreeing with ALL of your comments today, LOL! You DO realize im being serious, right? OK, how do I make you feel stupid? I’m sorry you kept getting me and Squeeky mixed up, but honestly we are QUITE different, our avatars are very different too, BTW. Oops I hope that didn’t make you feel stupid.

Yep, the Conservative Jesus says defend yourself!
happypappies – “You actually think you are Christian in your thoughts no doubt. did you know Christ said to Love your Enemys. He meant Muslims too.”
I’m no Bible scholar, but I’m pretty sure he also wanted us to recognize evil and to defend ourselves.
Hi Jim 22 – “I’m no Bible scholar, but I’m pretty sure he also wanted us to recognize evil and to defend ourselves.”
Yeah in the Lords Prayer we are to Pray deliver us from Evil. We are supposed to do Gods Will. Before we do anything we should pretty much check in so I usually check in first as I can recognize evil. However, did God make it our business to go over and kill and bomb in a situation we created in the first place? Once again, I think we are back again to Galatians 6:7-8 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction.
I think the Media is making this into a Circus. Just my opinion

When to use quotation marks. Just a little remedial lesson.
Jim, I’ve lived in 7 states and 3 time zones. But, I grew up blue collar, ethnic, East Coast. So, being direct and honest is how I am. Living in the Midwest, I am a fish outta water. This is the least direct part of the country, and I’m talking Midwest, north and south. Ball busting is not well received here. I think I’ve busted JT’s balls too much about the Bears and Cubs. I have to remind myself of his roots.
Karen, does Nick Spinelli need to remind you how you should conduct yourself here in these comment sections? I thought you were able to comment according to you own dictates, am I wrong?
Nick – “The people you have to watch for are the ones who smile to your face and call you slurs behind your back.”
I think they are called Californians! kidding people. I did use to tell them (when I lived out there) when they would ask, “Why are NY’ers so rude?”, I would say, “Hey, at least you know where you stand with them”.
Jim22 – one thing about NYers. You know exactly where you stand with them. You can’t trust the person in front of you and you can’t trust the person behind you.
Karen, Focus, discipline.
Hear hear Happypappies! Your 2:06PM comment couldn’t have been any truer. Excellent point.

“Look, if you’re going to post here, sometimes people will disagree with you. That is not unfair. That is debate. And if you don’t want to debate, then either ignore when people disagree with you, or don’t post. Because you give the impression that it’s somehow unfair if anyone disagrees with you.
Why do I use quotes? Because when you’re writing a rebuttal, you typically address either paraphrases or direct quotes. I have note taken your quotes out of context.”
******************************
Karen, AMAZINGLY AGAIN you are mischaracterizing my comment. Where did I say it was “UNFAIR” to disagree with another commenter’s opinion? I enjoy a good HONEST debate. You simply cannot help yourself it seems. You quote an actual comment, BUT THEN you go on to use quotation marks around your mischaracterization. Like THIS:
on 1, September 30, 2014 at 1:13 pmKaren S
Annie:
“You’re not the only one claiming Christians are “just as bad,” however. There are many on this blog.”
“So anyone who claims that Jews and Christians are “just as bad” please consider some facts and deal with the problem of Muslim extremism straight on, without these distracting non sequiturs or red herrings.”
——————
Me, responding… “OMG Karen, do you really NOT know what you are doing here? Why do you put the words “just as bad” in quotes? Where did I say “just as bad”? You seriously don’t see what you did wrong here?”
**************************
SOOO, once again Karen it is not correct to use quotation marks around a paraphrase, especially when the paraphrase has been ‘enhanced’ b the paraphrased to mean something that the original commenter did not indicate. It’s dishonest and it’s indicative of a weak argument. Your rebuttal should be able to stand on its on legs, it’s own strength, NOT the false strength of a mischaracterization. Now I’m done responding to you, as your dishonesty just keeps getting doubled, tripled and quadrupled down on and it’s very tiresome and a waste of my time.
You always have to get so personal and be so vindictive and mean to every one. Even Jesus. I have no Idea what your problem is. Do you ever even listen to yourself. You know. You really don’t make me feel stupid Annie. I can’t help it you poison this blog with your vitriol. I am trying to debate. You are just being nasty as usual. You never answer me. You only agree with your Liberal “frenz” How rude is it to put a gun in the Man who told you to Love your Enemies hands. I could say more but being a Christian woman and not on the Right, one of those Progressive Presbyterian USA ones. A Deacon yet. Not to brag but it is my life. Following Jesus that is
Happypappies….. Huh? We do not have blasphemy laws here in the US. Jesus said love your enemy and turn the other cheek. By posting this rude picture of Jesus I was juxtaposing Jim’s comment disagreeing with YOU, BTW, in which he said Jesus would say we should “defend” ourselves. Did you perhaps not get my sarcasm here? Happypappies, I honestly am not trying to make you feel stupid, but I suspect you missed the rational of me posting the rude Jesus picture.

No one is evangelizing secularism. Straw man.
O – I feel soooo stupid.
I have work to do good afternoon ladies – gents
Happypappies, again I’m sorry you feel stupid. I cannot help the way you feel. How you feel is your prerogative. Leave me out of it.

Annie – At least I don’t “Sound stupid” Again, you have no idea what you sound like. You think most everyone on here is inferior to you. Obviously. It gets old. When I was a newbie to the site, were you nice about it when I tried to debate, no. You treat everyone like a mental midget. It isn’t just me. Trust me. You have an attitude. I am telling you this because it is true. You put yourself in the way of everyone and then say leave me out of it. Unbelievable. That’s okay. You only make a comment anyway when you feel your ego is threatened
Ken, Good clip, thanks. There are people here who still think the Mohammed video was the reason for Benghazi. I know, I know, but they exist. To the larger point, Rushdie makes the EXACT point my father taught me and I taught my son about hateful epithets thrown @ you. It is better to have someone say it to your face. The people you have to watch for are the ones who smile to your face and call you slurs behind your back. This country is great because of the First Amendment maybe more than anything else.
Salman Rushdie. Did he just hit the nail on the head? The problem of liberty. Take a listen.
Jim22 – so true. When people have to go back 2,000 years, to the Old Testament, you know they’re grasping at straws. I wish many people with these arguments could spend some time in the Middle East, as a tourist. Go see Chop Chop Square in Saudi Arabia. Of course, they won’t be allowed a visa if they are a Jew. Then return here and tell us all how horrible America is.
happy:
As for loving my enemies – Muslims in general are not my enemies. I oppose radical Islam, not moderate Islam. In fact, I’ve had many Muslim friends, and am quite familiar with their culture. Although I violently dislike calapache. Who wants to eat eyeballs and brains? Seriously?
When I see an extremist behead a journalist, I suppose I can feel sorry for him, having been indoctrinated from a nice life as a rapper in England (or whoever the beast turns out to be.) But I don’t turn the other way, ignore him, or hope he doest do it anymore.
I’ve never put myself out as a stellar Christian. Mother Theresa I am not. Wish I could have met her, and Ghandi, too.
Great comment to Annie, she is much too sensitive. I don’t comment much here because she and Squeaky make me feel stupid. Because I don’t understand Gravatar and get their comments confused and then they attack me. I like Turley’s articles and take and I do think he is very bright. I am glad you understand I am debating with you because some here don’t. Paul is okay with it.
We also have evil in the Christian Religion. That is what I was trying to point out. And you kind of skipped over it you know? Islam is an Oriental Religion and is introverted in it’s practice. Let me explain if I can. When these moron’s over here just do it for attention, you have fakery like above where they just want attention, Like Manson when he was declaring he was Jesus Christ.
When you have true Islam, they practice Sharia Law as in Iran the Theocracy within their State. The United States cannot abide their practice of Sharia law if it is against their moral code and has to become extroverted and declare war or whatever to make them stop what We consider wrong because the whole world has to be just like us morally speaking.
Again, if we would have just minded our own business in the first place and the Rockerfellers had not been so greedy along with Shell Oil and the rest of the Oil Moguls, we would not have been reaping what we sow.
As far as what Jesus said, He just meant I think to pray for your enemies and try to have a sense of community and set an example instead of judging as we have been warned many times we will be judged by the standard we judge.
Annie – your comment from the Uber Cultural Defense: “Think we won’t ever go down the path of blasphemy laws and morality police under Christian fundamentalism? No, then you’re living in a fools paradise.”
Still confused as to why I would bring up peaceful fundamentalist Christian groups? Still wonder why I would rebut a repeated attempt to diffuse the problem of radical Islam with the whole Christianity-is-just-as-bad line?
Look, if you’re going to post here, sometimes people will disagree with you.
I have note taken your quotes out of context.
By all means, if you wish to explain further, please do so, but it is incorrect to claim that you never said what you clearly did.
I am curious why people feel that freedom of religion somehow translates into a state religion. If people are pushing for a state religion, which denomination gets to be the lucky one? Episcopalian? Baptist? Lutheran? Jewish?
It is not threatening separation of church and state to wish the freedom to practice your own religion in public or in private. People who believe differently should just say, “how interesting” and move on. I don’t care if someone prays to Mecca after a touchdown, or says a Hail Mary. Because where we’re at right now is that a cheerleading team was prohibited from praying before a game, and broke the rules and did so anyway. I would no more prohibit kids from choosing, on their own, to pray in school (like before a test) than I would try to ban Muslim students from their devotions. People can’t wear rosaries, crosses, or Hamsas. It’s absurd.
Jim22, Bingo. The fact that people of color are the bad people in the ME and Africa just doesn’t fit w/ Obama’s worldview. That’s why he felt compelled to mention Ferguson, Mo. in his UN speech. That was a big “tell” as they say in poker. Ferguson is certainly worth discussing, but putting it in his UN speech was incongruous to people w/ a more balanced worldview and philosophy. It was a head scratcher to regular folk.
Anyone else? Who can explain in a clear and consise manner how this comment could be considered unreasonable? Or lacking reason? And please TRY to be honest.

Ok, I’m gonna say it….it’s a fundamental adherence to religious beliefs that seem to cause so many of the problems. A more literal take on the nutty stuff in religious texts might be a better fit for today’s world.
And yes, it’s time to say, I miss those incredibly intelligent, honest commenters that no longer comment here. This blog’s comment sections are not up to those standards anymore, that’s is obvious.
Annie – if you are not happy with the quality of the commenting on this blog either up your game or move to another blog.
LOL! Did JT give you a promotion? Hmmm Paul? Your comment is also quite uncivil.
