Journalist Films Anti-Semitic Reactions To His Walking Through Paris Wearing Yarmulke

The video shows the level of anti-Semitism even in our capital cities around the world.

Klein walked around with a bodyguard while a photographer filmed him with a camera hidden in a backpack.

They film as Klein is called a “dog” and even spat at by people walking by. He walked through Jewish neighborhoods, around the Eiffel Tower, but mostly went through Muslim neighborhoods. He was surprised to receive “belligerent remarks” even in tourist areas, though on the whole they were much better than the Muslim or Arab neighborhoods.

Some comments were particularly shocking like a young boy asking “What is he doing here Mommy? Doesn’t he know he will be killed?”

In truth, I expect that Muslims wearing religious grab face the same type of commentary and attacks in some areas. However, the film captures the deep and growing divide on religion around the world, including the West.

It wasn’t quite that simple. Throughout Europe, as well as the United States and Canada there was a high degree of anti-Semitism, before and during WW2. Research Patton’s remarks regarding Jews liberated from the concentration camps. He was a rabid racist, a great general but a racist. What made it boil over into madness in Germany, France, and other European countries before and during WW2 was a combination of fear, racism, and the elevation of scum to positions of importance. Scum, thugs, and racism make great bed fellows.

France, as well as other countries, had long stood as countries where evil did sometimes triumph but where there were enough people with character to recognize it and fight against it. The Dreyfus affair is a perfect example of this. Dreyfus was framed for treason, convicted as a scapegoat for the humiliation France felt after losing to the Prussians, etc. That he was a Jew spoke in both directions. The racists in the administration wanted to blame someone and who better to blame than a Jew. However, this Jew followed one of the most coveted careers in France at the time. He rose through the ranks as an officer, equal to others, a Captain. His plight pretty much split France down the middle with Emile Zola publishing a harsh criticism of the government in his ‘J’accuse’. France as a free nation has its share of racists and bigots just as do the US, Canada, and other enlightened countries.

However, when given the choice between the German boot on the neck it was not hard to round up thugs and other racists to do the bidding of the Nazis. The Milice or paramilitary police consisted of that same type that is found in some parts of the US that see ‘teaching a lesson’ to the black man as part of their duty. It was not France that committed the atrocities it was that part of humanity that in normal times is seen as an embarrassment that seems to rise to the top when fascism and other totalitarian us or them regimes take over.

Bark away Dog but do a little research beyond what serves your desire to point the finger. Look into both sides of a story.

  2. For people on the blog who do not know about the history of France during the Second World War I can say a few things. Those who do know who choose to forget, I will remind you. The Germans defeated a French Army on May 10, 1940. A deal was struck. The Vichy Government retained control of a large area of western France called Vichy France. The leader was Marshal Petain. During the war the Vichy government assisted the Germans in the Holocaust and were part of it. They rounded up Gypsies, Jews, and others and sent them off to gas and ovens. America wanted to sweep this under the rug so that the post war government would be on our side against the Soviets. All is forgotten.
All is forgotten unless you are a Jew in France. They are bigots.

  3. “Pogo, YOU are incompatible with the west.
    Really? How so?

“Were you from other there, you would be beheading people right now.
Only if I were just another Muslim with intense religious devotion to an apocalyptic version of 7th-century Islam.

  4. Pogo, YOU are incompatible with the west. Were you from other there, you would be beheading people right now. And nick would be justifying it. An extremist is an extremist no matter the locale.

just so am clear, don’t bother answering anything I say to pogo, trooper, karen and sometimes nick and paul. More often than not,it is me having fun at their expense 🙂
if it is directed at you,Inga, Olly and a few others, sometimes DBQ, you can hold me accountable for those words.
I second your point however that I have never anyone calling for sharia law, whether here or there.
sometimes I do wish I were a pirate so I can make some here walk the plank.

  6. Pogo, Edward put up a good link on ISIS on the Saudi thread last evening. They have to be crushed, by any means necessary.

  7. Let’s just say that it is no longer disputable that the intense religious devotion to an apocalyptic version of 7th-century Islam is incompatible with the West (and the rest).

  8. spiral, Good response. If the good will was not recorded, then it could obviously not be part of the edited version. In surveillance footage like this, you are dealing w/ many variables. When I’m shooting “on the fly” I can’t always have my camera up and shooting for many reasons. Maybe someone else is eyeballing me and I don’t want to blow my cover. Maybe it’s unsafe, I’m driving and would be dangerously distracted. Those are 2 common reasons, but there are many more, all legit. Additionally, this guy is not a shooter of surveillance for a living. It is tough! I have taught many new PI’s and some never get it. Here’s what should tell you Klein is legit. If there is no video of the kindness on the raw footage, he could have simply said it didn’t happen. He acknowledged it.

spiral, I have been cross examined sometimes where I was quite certain I could say something, or leave out something, and never have gotten caught. But, it was my parents, nuns, Jesuits, who taught me, “Character is doing the right thing even when no one is looking.” On one case, I lost a client because I admitted something that was exculpatory but not on the footage. It was a situation when a person limped to her car before I could get the camera up and running. Understand, you can’t have the camera on all the time. You have battery life to consider. When I’m watching a residence my camera is off. Sometimes I’ll turn it off and on hoping to catch it right, but it’s a crap shoot. It takes several seconds for the camera to fire up and for the shooter to focus on the subject. In this case, the subject was out her front door and in her car before I could shoot. She was definitely limping. And, I know it wasn’t an act because she knew someone was watching. It was real. I testified to that and it hurt my client. It seems Klein did the same.

  9. ” everybody from every background is a target.

That may be true, but it is the Muslims perpetrating violence worldwide.
For example, here’s just the last week:

    2015.02.16 Somalia Mogadishu
Four airport workers are machine-gunned at point-blank range by al-Shabaab.
    2015.02.15 Denmark Copenhagen
A 37-year-old Jewish man guarding a synagogue is gunned down by a Muslim radical.
    2015.02.15 Nigeria Damaturu
A teenaged girl blows herself up at a crwded bus station, taking at least sixteen bystanders with her.
    2015.02.14 Denmark Copenhagen
A gunman praises Allah and fires into a cafe hosting a free speech event organized by a cartoonist critical of Islam, killing one participant.
    2015.02.14 Pakistan Shalman
The driver for a polio vaccination team is murdered by fundamentalist gunmen.
    2015.02.13 Pakistan Peshawar
At least twenty worshippers are massacred by Jundallah gunmen with suicide vests at a Shiite mosque.
    2015.02.13 Iraq Samarrah
Two children and a woman are among a family of six disassembled by a Mujahid bomb.
    2015.02.12 Nigeria Biu
A female suicide bomber slaughters eleven people at a packed market.
    2015.02.12 Nigeria Akida
Twelve villagers are massacred by Boko Haram.
    2015.02.11 Iraq Baghdad
Ten civilians lose their lives when terrorists send mortar shells into two Shiite neighborhoods.
    2015.02.10 Afghanistan Kunduz
Five suicide bombers manage to kill only one other person.

  10. Haters gonna hate, period. Cases of islamaphobia both in the US and abroad are still at post-9/11 highs. Cases of anti-Semitism have also captured worldwide attention. If you look hard enough, you may remember we are a tribal species sorting ourselves on a silly basis and all thinking we are better than our neighbor. It’s life. To paint the Jews as some special victims of this is just silly as at some point in history in some part of the world, and often repeatedly and endlessly, everybody from every background is a target.

  11. I thought Muslin women wore what they do for fear of what would happen to them if they didn’t.

  12. Nick Spinelli, I do not question your expertize, but you missed the point.

You say, “This is one of my areas of expertise. The complaints about editing of this video are BOGUS, unless there is footage edited out showing Muslims exhibiting kindness to this man.”

The point is if you reread my post, that Klein himself says (as per BBC) that even in those Muslim neighborhoods some people came to defend him but that none of that was RECORDED! question is why not?

BTW, I have no axe to grind; I had read the article on BBC earlier in the day and then I read Prof Turley’s (who I do / did admire) post. I am trying to be fair and complete. For the record, I am neither a Muslim, nor a Jew or even a Christian.

  13. Ari, San Diego has a good mix of Middle Eastern Christians and Muslims. They seem to interact well, but that is just casual observations. Not your level of experience by any means.

  14. Po … “you” (or whomever you try to speak for) will never take over the USA and implement Sharia law. Where do you get such ideas? Or was that tongue in cheek?

It certainly does not represent the vast vast majority of Muslims I know and I do know a few, so to speak. They’ve made the most of the opportunity for entrepreneurship and adopting to the general US of A culture, while keeping their traditions as well. Some I know have moved their kids from local schools to others within the city because of issues like you seem to cite…just like any sane parent would if they have the opportunity. A few radicals can spoil a place, and my neighbors seem to know that and act accordingly to avoid the extremists. Sharia has no more chance here than Wiccan ideas or fascism…and I am talking from within the largest Arab Muslim population in the USA. Do you think I’d say I like it here if the prevailing thought was to establish a barbaric 7th-8th century system? I have witnessed nothing of the kind in 30+ years now.
