We have previously discussed the struggle that creationists have with the daily disclosures of scientific research, particularly the discovery of fossils and other items that are dates in the millions rather than thousands of years. It is hard to maintain that the Earth is less than 6,000 years old given the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. However, Canadian Edgar Nernberg has shown just how easy it is to live in denial. Nernberg was not just confronted with a fossil from over 60 million years ago, but he actually found it in his basement. However, Nernberg does not think God is trying to tell him something. He maintains that “There’s no dates stamped on these things” and it proves nothing if you just reject isotopic dating and basic geology.
The University of Calgary will unveil the five fossils this week and the results of the dating process. These fish lived just after the dinosaurs were wiped out on Earth and are important evidence of the explosion of new species in the aftermath.
Nernberg to this credit recognized the find right away and preserved the fossils. Indeed, he is seeking cast of one of the fish so he can put it on display at the creationist museum.
“Philip Johnson, author of “Darwin on Trial” is a Harvard graduate and is, or was, a law professor at U Cal Berkeley. You’d have a hard time labeling him a “crackpot”.
He makes a very good case that radiometric dating is an invalid methodology for determining the age of rocks. You should read the book.”
I wouldn’t call Johnson a crackpot, but I also wouldn’t call him a scientist. If he can prove the radiometric dating is invalid, then he should publish his findings in a scientific journal such as Nature or Science. Such a revolutionary finding would probably win him a Nobel Prize.
But he won’t, because he can’t. You should read scientific books written by actual scientists, and not ideological tracts written by non-scientists.
just like the typo I just produced above…confuse…um, confused…
I’m not confuse at all…it was a typo on my part…
Stanton:
You’re a bit confused on your list. Anicetus was the tenth pope. The third was Anicletus.
Labman57,
Did you read David and JMRJ’s comments? If so, then feel free to enlighten us as to why you think these two are wrong? I am not a science guru, but I am willing to read your counter argument if you have any?
Not only do these “thick” creationists refuse to accept the fossil and biochemical evidence of evolution, they also deny the chemistry and physics of radioactive decay and radioisotopic dating.

We creationists do not refuse to accept fossil and biochemical evidence. We embrace the evidence. We point to the evidence and develop a model of understanding around the evidence.
We also do not deny the chemistry and physics of radioactive decay and radioisotopic dating. It is the interpretations of the chemistry and physics that is sometimes called into question. As pointed in this article, most of the time dates are assigned to fossils without any kind of radiometric dating.
Furthermore, when radiometric dating is done, there are numerous assumptions made that might not hold up. For one thing, an assumption is made about the original parent material being present at 100% concentration initially compared to 0% of daughter material. For another, a constant radioactive decay rate is assumed. And thirdly, we assume that it is a closed system. Did you know that rocks from Hawaiian lava flows that were known to be only 150 years old were dated by radioisotopic dating to be nearly 3 billion years old? And sediment in the Colorado plateau for which radiohalo evidence indicates was compressed over a 20 year period was previously dated to be millions of years apart.
Another general concern is that the radiometric methods all are based upon similar physics. It would be nice to have some other empirical clock that was not based upon the physics of the electromagnetic spectrum. That way the assumptions made and dating results can be cross checked. There have been other empirical clocks, but they are tossed out because they do not yield the expected results required by evolutionary theory. Just as religious people might ignore evidence that do not fit with their Bible interpretations, scientists do the same thing with evidence that does not fit their evolutionary model. If a human tooth or tool is found in strata millions of years old, alternative explanations are given to discount the evidence.
There is nothing wrong with you disagreeing with a creationist model, but at least be honest in your criticism and avoid the ad hominem slurs.
Megan’s eyes are to far apart…nice legs though…
i work with a woman, who is laltina who is so gorgeous, it makes my “head spin”…she has a singing voice like and angel…and the biggest, brownest eyes, I have ever see….just being near her for a moment, makes me weak in the knees…she’s a goddess…
There is no ‘date stamp’ on Genesis, either.
Seven, like forty, are spans of time denoting ‘many’.
Of course forty is ‘many’ more than seven.
Just like a flock is to some sheep.
It’s just a couple of zeros…
Someone up there criticized males for watching Fox News to check out the chicks. Well I put Megan up against anyone. She is a good reporter and it is not bad getting a look at her. You humans would do well to give her some support instead of criticizing her for being a fox on Fox.

@PaulCS and Isaac
I guess I will have to raid my father’s library next time I am over there! I gave up on stealing several of his books and just ordered my own copies.

aaaaaah…
these are historical facts…without equivocation…the Catholic Church is like a “roaring” lion…one loosed from it’s cage, it can very ably defend itself…
393-Council of Hippo, The Catholic Church determined which books are inspired and are to compose the New Testament, Canon first fixed by Council of Hippo, 393, later confirmed by Council of Carthage in 397. Thus ends the transmission…

I’m reportedly for the Brownist camp as many of John Robinson’s followers were. There is one gap in our genealogy around the 1615 to 1640 period. We are direct descendants of the Robinsons of Bennington, VT.
I can not subscribe to any of the religious dogma of the Romans and find them to be quite unconscionable in their historical actions. Just another nation state hell bent on benefiting themselves at the expense of everyone else. Their dogma in my opinion was just a ruse to abuse their fellow man. Tithing and taxation are the sins to me and both have been contently abused by the political and religious oligarchs throughout history. Sometimes I feel as if we are still under Roman rule of might over right.
“to eyeball all the newswomen in short, tight skirts, with high heels and no hose”
Sounds like someone who’s done a lot of ‘research.’
“In fact stories seem to be what is causing most of the problems.”
What stories are causing the riots in Baltimore?
What stories are causing Obama to lay waste the Constitution?
The only reason men watch FOX news is to eyeball all the newswomen in short, tight skirts, with high heels and no hose…FOX news is “mickey-mouse” journalism at best…”yellow” at worst…but guys turn in to see all those tanned legs…man needs to have custody of his eyes…
