We have been discussing the bizarre situation of the two major parties nominating the two candidates with not just the highest, but unprecedented, negative numbers with voters. The presumptive nomination of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have renewed calls for reforms to challenge the control of a duopoly of power in the country. This week there are new polls showing not only that Trump and Clinton are roughly equal in the high rejection of the majority of the voters, but 58 percent say that they are considering voting for someone other than Trump and Clinton. That could be a huge boast to the Libertarian and Green candidates this election. It also may reflect the dangerous gamble of the establishment in the Democratic party in securing the nomination for Clinton.
Given the huge negative ratings (and deep untrustworthy figures), the polls show that (in an election that should be a walk for any Democrat) Clinton may be the most vulnerable candidate to lose to Trump. While negatives tend to increase with nasty elections, both of these candidates are starting with breathtaking negative views.
New polls show Trump either pulling even or ahead of Clinton while Sanders continues to beat Trump by a healthy margin. Indeed, some polls purport to show that Clinton’s negatives may be higher than Trump’s.
Pollster Douglas Schoen’s recent poll shows both Clinton and Trump are effectively tied among likely voters in the low-40s. However, the majority of voters are looking for another option rather than choose, as Sanders recently said, “between evils.”
The Libertarian party is likely to benefit the most since it is the only third party that will appear in all 50 states. A Johnson/Weld ticket may be seriously considered by voters as a socially liberal and fiscally conservative option.
WOW, so the gumshoe complained.
Robespierre Principle: If you gain power by convincing people that those in power should be sent to the guillotine, sooner or later the people will notice that you’re in power and should be sent to the guillotine as well.
Political dynasties are more akin to an aristocracy than they are a democracy or a republic.
steve, Isaac came here claiming to be against the duopoly. If EVER a 3rd party had a chance, it would be this year. Like most Canadians, he has no stones. Even if Trump wins, I bet he won’t be elbowing women who disagree w/ him like that pretty boy, stupid, French Canadian, PM. That loser will be gone soon.
Nick, agreed. I couldn’t believe Trudeau did that. Spoiled, and way over the top. He’ll never rid himself of that glaring grade school character flaw.
So great to see how posts like this bring out the crazy in everyone.
Hillary is indeed an inside player. too much money from bad companies and people and too little spine to have her own opinions.
But still ten times worse than Trump. He thinks he can apply business principles to running a country which has failed every time it has been tried. Countries are not companies. And quite frankly his experience running companies is not very good. There aren’t really any bankruptcy laws he can “take advantage of” as president, other than defaulting on debt, which he will probably do. He’s a terrible bigot, nativist, misogynist, and racist. He tracks will with Hitler’s rise to power, and apparently likes reading Hitler’s speeches.
It would be a great year for Sanders. Hope he sticks it out in spite of his horrible media treatment.
phillyT – Sanders has been screwed by the DNC since day one. Hillary is the anointed one. This is her year. They only let Bernie play in the sandbox because they didn’t think it made any difference. When he started winning, they hobbled him and have been hobbling him since.

What makes Bernie Sanders great is his backbone, notwithstanding the resistance from the Establishment. Here are two of my favorite examples (via the Jimmy Dore Show):

steve – I don’t agree that Bernie is great. He walked out of a TV interview here in Phx when it appeared that his wife didn’t get the dirt on Sheriff Joe that he wanted. She went to Tent City to do an expose for his campaign and Joe showed up and showed her around and answered all her questions. She actually was a fan by the end of the, what turned into a fan experience.
Most voters want good-paying jobs and financial security for their family. Both parties have allowed American wages to deflate while expenses have inflated while losing good jobs.
It’s always about good jobs!
First of all, I predict the oligarchy will win the election. If we don’t want this to happen then it is time to do several things.
1. realize that a citizen can do a heck of a lot more good sending their money and spending their time trying to accomplish the things which need doing than trying to elect a president. This is discussed by David Swanson and I believe it is very much worth hearing out. http://davidswanson.org/
2. I will consider voting Libertarian now that the Green party has sold out its membership completely. Once Jill Stein offered to give Bernie the top of the ticket and place herself as VP, The Greens (lots of pretty green in off-shore accounts) showed it has the same depraved indifference to human life and suffering as any legacy party. (I keep asking the Green party to explain how they reconcile Bernie’s targeted murders and wars to their platform and I never do get an answer.) So yes, I will look into other third parties and see if they are O.K. are just other minions of the deep state.
We can’t keep voting for the so called “lessor” or two evils. That has not worked and it is time to be honest about the failure of this strategy. So on to other ideas pronto. Look at other candidates, but more importantly, realize that as citizens we can pool resources for our true common good. This may be more effective as a way to get what we really want.
Hillary Clinton belongs in prison and we live with our fate.
Unfortunately the only way to rise above the situation of the ‘lesser of two evils’ choice with which we are now confronted is to avoid the chaos and anarchy that would be the result of a Trump Presidency. The GOP is so dysfunctional that it would be chaos within the Republican leadership. The Senate will probably revert to Democrat control as either a safeguard against total Republican dominance and therefore destruction or a bolster to a Democrat Presidency to maintain some sort of stability.
The choice is electing a continuation of the establishment and hoping for more intelligent judges appointed to the Supreme Court, just look at the damage Scalia did before he left, who could hopefully extricate American politics from the control of private concentrated wealth, and a roll of the dice on Trump. Trump brings chaos and lies. Clinton brings stability and lies. Pick your poison, all in for the big gamble or play the odds for a win in the future.
Issac writes, “Trump brings chaos and lies. Clinton brings stability and lies.”
And they both will murder more people, as Obama has done. As a result, I cannot agree with your theory of the lesser of two evils. I cannot vote for a murderer. Worrying about who will be appointed to the Supreme Court while mothers lose their babies and while we could be trying to strengthen third parties by voting for them seems a relatively inconsequential concern.
stevegroen – my final decision for President is: who has the nuke codes? The one with business skills or the one who throws things at her husband. At least that is where I am right now. Mickey is not off the table.
Paul writes “stevegroen – my final decision for President is: who has the nuke codes? The one with business skills or the one who throws things at her husband. At least that is where I am right now. Mickey is not off the table.”
Isn’t that sort of like, well, a simplistic approach? Do you care about any other issues, like which countries and locations within them will be his primary targets and whether the resources we pillage in the aftermath will be shielded from radioactive fallout? We need someone who can anticipate these contingencies.
Glowing every time one fills his or her fuel tank even with a decrease in gas prices seems weird.

Reblogged this on THE ABSURD TIMES — STILL and commented:
What an election.
I imagine that most of Sanders’ voters will probably end up voting for Hillary. I think the prospect of Trump will be too much for them.
“in my opinion”, and here are just one reason for each candidate, why I believe this: All three remaining major party candidates are members of the ruling oligarchy and have been for many years. Clinton just had dinner with the Rothschilds; $100K a plate. Trump has been meeting with Kissinger who famously was quoted as “The illegal with do all the time, the unconstitutional takes a bit longer” and Sanders, an acknowledged socialist even after experiencing the last 50 years of what advancing social policies have done to the middle class in our country and seeing what 21st century socialism is doing to Venezuela at this very moment + he’s also a liar.
From a Wall Street Journal Article: “Mr. Sanders has also regularly attended the DSCC’s retreats, either during the winter in Florida or during summers on Martha’s Vineyard, including one as recently as July. Guests at the retreats are donors who have donated the maximum amount to the party, or raised more than $100,000. Many attendees are lobbyists, lawyers and members of the financial industry.
Similarly, at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, Mr. Sanders attended a luncheon with a group of roughly 30 senators and donors who had given the maximum to the DSCC for five years in a row, or a total of $500,000. The group was called the “Legacy Circle,” had been organized by New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, with the goal of enticing more donors to pass that threshold.
Several donors who have attended the retreats said Mr. Sanders fully participated in the events, including socializing, and didn’t take the opportunity to tell Wall Street lobbyists that, as he says on the stump, their industry’s business model is fraud.”
“He was just like any other senator hobnobbing with lawyers and lobbyists from DC,” said Rebecca Geller, a Washington attorney who attended with her husband, a financial services lobbyist. Ms. Geller, who has donated to Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, said Mr. Sanders was happy to take photos with her family. “My kids have fond memories of him hanging out by the hot tub.”
We have little choice but to go else where with our votes and the Libertarians are the only Party who has during it’s entire history, tried to severe the collusion between special interests and government. This is what needs to be done and the average voter is finally becoming aware of it. Ron Paul was just a Libertarian in Republican clothing and why he was ostracized by the leaders of the Republican Party and main stream media during his 2002 campaign. The ruling oligarchs do not want libertarians, who won’t be bought off, in office. The Libertarian Party Pledge that all candidates must sign, is very important because it prohibits them from voting for social polices that benefits special interests, at the expense of the majority.
It is intellectually dishonest to compare the ascendancy of Trump and Clinton. Trump defeated the establishment of the Republican Party. Clinton is a Dem Machine creature. The Dem Machine has been apparently more effective in crushing insurgency than the Republican Machine. I use the word “apparently” because Lady Macbeth ain’t got it yet.
Israelis forewarned of 9/11 attacks – ODIGO INSTANT MESSAGES
well-known Israeli instant messaging application
Many Israelis maybe thousands, who worked in the WTC, were evidently forewarned of the attacks hours before they occurred through an Israeli instant messaging service called Odigo. This is very clear evidence of Israeli prior knowledge of 9/11 attacks

Jewish Senator Al Franken Admits Being Warned About 9-11 Beforehand
by Chris Bollyn
http://buenavistamall.com/AlFranken2.jpg
“TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I GOT THE JEW CALL.”
In his book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Sen. Al Franken admits to having been warned not to go to work at the World Trade Center on 9-11. Why have the government and “free press” in the United States not investigated this report? Senator Al Franken admits in his book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them (2003), that he received a call from the former mayor of New York, Ed Koch, warning him not to go to his office in the World Trade Center on 9-11, using the Hebrew calendar as a reference for the date, which was September 11, 2001.
Franken refers to this warning call as the “Jew call.”
“Al”, he told me, “don’t go to work on the twenty-third day of Elul.” Al Franken may have been a comedian who went to Washington, but this is not funny. Being forewarned about 9-11 is a criminal matter. Calls to Sen. Al Franken’s office in Washington at (202) 224-5641, were not answered, although they were made during working hours. Furthermore, Franken’s press secretary, Michael Dale Stein at (202) 224-4645, did not answer either his office phone or his mobile phone during business hours. Stein’s mobile phone said the mail box was empty so messages could not even be left. This is representative democracy?
The following text from Franken’s book is clear: he was warned in advance by Mayor Ed Koch, a fellow Jew;
