Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R., Ill.) went on CNN’s “The Situation Room” to declare he is very certain there is very likely “something going on at the Secret Service” … and it could “potentially [be] very criminal activity.” It is also very very late (as was the subpoena of former President Donald Trump) to be asking about the lack of preparation for Jan. 6th riot.
On CNN, Kinzinger told Blitzer that
“there is something going on at the Secret Service, either pure incompetence all the way on the scale to potentially very criminal activity or just having a preference for one side or the other.”
Kinzinger noted that inconsistency in the testimony of former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson who claimed that Secret Service assistant director Tony Ornato told her that Trump was “irate” in the limousine upon learning he couldn’t go to the Capitol. She also said that Trump lunged at his security detail in the car and toward the steering wheel. I previously wrote about this alleged incident. Ornato denied the allegation.
Kinzinger said “It’s not for me to say at this point whether they lied or not. There are some inconsistencies that we’re going to pursue. There are a lot of questions, things they said earlier that maybe witnesses have countered.”
Much like the very public move to force the wife of a sitting justice to testify, the question is why this is the question that Kinzinger would cite as a key focus for the Committee going forward. I do not fault the staff trying to confirm if anyone knowingly lied in these different accounts. However, this would not seem like the type of dispute be a priority for the Committee in answering what work needs to be done.
Moreover, different recollections of a conversation are generally not going to be good grounds for prosecution. The judge in the Danchenko trial just threw out a count based on the uncertainty of language.
Moreover, the Democrats in the final hearing hammered away at documents showing that the agency knew about violent threats in the days leading up to Jan. 6th. However, the Democrats have refused to pursue the lack of preparations on Capitol Hill as a focus of the hearing. On the day of the riot, many of us noted (before the breach of security) that there was a relatively light police presence around the Capitol despite the obvious risk of a riot. Once the crowd surged, they quickly were able to gain access to the building. Conservative media have featured a video showing an officer standing by as crowds poured into the building.
That obviously does not mean that there was not violence or that Capitol police did not bravely fight to protect the building. Most of us have denounced the riot as a desecration of our constitutional process.
Moreover, at some point, officers may have shifted to deescalating as crowds surged into the building. The question is why there were not more substantial barriers, like those used at the White House. Instead, some barriers were composed of a few officers using their bikes.
The available evidence indicates that the House was warned and that the need for National Guard deployments were discussed. There is a concern that, after criticizing such deployment and fencing around the White House in the earlier riots, the Democrats did not want to be seen following the same course.
An Inspector General report indicated that police were restricted by Congress in what they could use on that day. Previously, it was disclosed that offers of National Guard support were not accepted prior to the protests. The D.C. government under Mayor Muriel Bowser used only a small number of guardsmen in traffic positions.
That focus was rejected by the Committee members, including presumably Kinzinger. There have been no dissenting views voiced on the Committee as well as a virtual bar on opposing explanations or interpretations of evidence.
Yet, Kinzinger insisted “there’s a lot of answers we simply don’t have.” That may be due to a lot of questions that the Committee had not asked in the highly scripted, one-sided proceedings.
Whether there is “very criminal activity,” one thing is very clear: there has been very little interest in pursuing the question of who was responsible for the woefully inadequate security around the Capitol on Jan. 6th.
I happen to think the Professor is a very gifted interpreter of our Constitutional law, he tempers it with compassion, and I admire him greatly. But I agree with the dissenters. For some inexplicable reason, malfeasance on the part of our modern Democratic party seems to be off limits beyond simple criticism, and hoping that some judge somewhere might put the hammer down. I absolutely appreciate the analysis here, but come on. There is no defending any aspect of any tiny detail on the part of this party (the Democratic party) for at LEAST five or six years, though I would count it in cumulative decades. I can’t decide if it’s whistling in the dark or something else. There is cognitive dissonance here, and that is not going to remedy anything. All I can say is thank the Gods for the rule of law continuing to prevail against this utterly mendacious administration. The folks that watch and believe the MSM have no idea that their pariahs have been struck down in court quite literally every single time they have been challenged at this point – that level of attention is beyond their grasp. I don’t know what to do. But I am grateful for Professor Turley’s site, nonetheless. When Republicans trounce this year, there will be unrest the likes of which we have never seen, Dems, particularly the Marxist contingent, are going to lose their minds over free, democratic, elections – the *people’s* choice. It will be very, very ugly. Guaranteed. It is all going to become very difficult for liberals to defend at some point, and soon.
James,
Well said.
If the midterms go the way I think they are, I agree, the Marxist contingent are going to lose their minds.
Then, as in 2016, they will claim there are fascists around every corner, behind every tree. MSM will declare we have entered a new dark age, or something similar. There will be columns of rage at all those who did not vote for Dems, voted for authoritarianism. Various people will decry as a result of the election, they feel they are not seen! Or that their lives are in danger, and they dont feel safe.
In short, it is going to get stupid. More so than now.
The rest of us will watch on and quietly ask, “What is wrong with you?”
I think I’ll take a break today and watch the last episode of season 1 of The Rings of Power and try to match the various characters from the story to politicians currently in power. By comparison even Sauron is more interesting. Obviously dangerous but certainly more interesting.
@GEB
I wish we could just throw a ring into a volcano and everything would be fine. At this point marginalizing the wealthy globalists pulling the strings would be more like a fumigation (it is so entrenched due to wealth and a variety of other reasons), and as you know, a fumigation requires leaving the premises for a prescribed amount of time. We are talking about a very large country of states, and I just don’t think that’s logistically feasible. I do appreciate the humor, though. Realistically, at least for now, voting and marginalization are the best bet. Show the Soros brigade their money doesn’t matter.
GEB,
You made it to the last episode?
I found myself scrolling down to the bottom to see how much time was left of the first episode! I even opened other tabs to check other sites while it was playing and did not mind if I missed anything.
To me, the writing was that bad.
Almost as bad as the Jan6th hearings.
Turley’s ability to deflect is just amazing. Here’s the overarching scenario: As predicted by virtually every poll, Trump lost the election. His massive narcissistic ego doesn’t allow for the possibility of failure, so even before Election Day, he concocts a plan to defeat the will of the American people. So, he comes up with the Big Lie as a means to hold onto power he never rightfully held in the first place. The insurrection was well-planned in advance, with meetings between the Proud Boys and others at the Willard Hotel, with the direct participation of Trump’s inner circle, plus a cache of weapons stored in a Virginia hotel room across the Potomac waiting for Trump to give the command to invade. In addition to putting out the Big Lie as often as possible, including going on “Stop the Steal” tours, he pressures state election officials to invalidate Biden votes or “find” votes he didn’t get, there was a slate of fake “electors” who tried to “certify” his nonexistent “victory”, and pressure on Mike Pence to reject valid certified votes. He encouraged his fans to go after Mike Pence because he wasn’t “doing the right thing”–which was refusing to accept certified votes, which is a non-discretionary ceremonial function. Then, there’s 60+ lawsuits that failed for lack of evidence. When none of this worked, he exhorted his followers, some of whom were told to “stand back and stand by” to invade the Capitol. Ginni Thomas, wife of a sitting SCOTUS justice, was directly involved. So, does Turley attack her for being involved in a plot to prevent the peaceful transfer of power? No–he attacks the J6 Committee for going after her, as if it’s OK for her to be involved in such matters. Does he criticize Clarence Thomas for being the sole dissenting vote on matters involving the J6 committee? No. Does he criticize Trump for continuing to divide this country by maintaining the Big Lie, or stealing classified documents, forcing the government to compel their return, and then fundraising over his theft? No.
So, the Proud Boys and other para-military engaged in reconnaissance before Jan. 6th, plotting on the various means of entry into the Capitol, and how to distract the Capitol Police at one entry point in order to break in at another entry point. This is from a British reporter who was embedded with the Proud Boys. Does Turley criticize Trump for inciting these neanderthals by telling them to “fight like hell or you’re not going to have a country any more? No. His criticism is focused on lack of additional police presence, the need for more and better barriers, deflecting the fault away from where it belongs. Jan 6th should never have happened, and it’s not because Democrats or others didn’t put up more barriers around the Capitol, or add additional security–IT’S BECAUSE TRUMP LIED TO HIS FOLLOWERS AND ENCOURAGED THEM TO ATTACK THE CAPITOL ALL BECAUSE OF HIS MASSIVE EGO THAT REFUSES TO ACCEPT DEFEAT. That’s the truth. The rest is deflection.
+100
Turley’s ability to deflect is just amazing.
Yours? Pathetic. Your tale of events leading up to Jan. 6th is completely undermined by the lack of adequate security preparations for that day. This is not that complicated. Intel leading up to Jan. 6th went ignored and/or wasn’t shared. The President authorized the use of the National Guard in advance of Jan. 6th. Neither Bowzer, the Capitol police or Pelosi requested augmentation of the security perimeter by National Guard troops. This is where your logic fails you. If we had learned that Trump ignored the intel, that Trump hadn’t authorized NG troops and that Trump told the audience to storm the capitol. then there would be a strong case against Trump. But the opposite is true. The failure to adequately secure the complex against the known threat is what made the breach possible. And according to you, that’s still Trump’s fault.
Olly: tell us: what prior occupant of the Oval Office. after losing the most heavily-monitored election in history, ever encouraged his fans to riot in order to prevent the rightful election winner from taking office? WHY did the rioters attack and WHAT was the reason for invading the Capitol itself, as opposed to picketing elsewhere? WHAT was there to protest, and WHY hasn’t proof of the “widespread election fraud” that your hero insists happened never surface after more than 2 years? The fault for the insurrection begins and ends with Trump and it is outrageous for any rational person to argue otherwise or to try to shift blame to anyone else. WHY did these people come to Washington, and WHY on January 6th? In the criminal trials involving Trump’s fans, they testified it was because Trump told them to–he told them the election was stolen and that they should “fight” to keep him in office because he won a “landslide victory” that was “stolen” by fraud. That lie was planned out long before Election Day because all polls predicted he would lose. The peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of our American system of government, something my ancestors fought for. Nancy Pelosi does NOT control the National Guard. In fact, no one would or should have been injured or died that day except for the massive ego of a pathological liar who will go down in history as the worst POTUS ever. The “breach” only happened because of Trump.
I want just one of you Trump fans to justify him sitting on his massive butt for 187 minutes, watching the violence unfold on television, and ignoring pleas from multiple people, including Ivanka, to stop the rioting. WHY wouldn’t he stop the violence and desecration of our Capitol, OTHER THAN because he was basking in the glory of his adoring fans? Why, when he finally told them to quit, did he say he “loved” them? WHY can’t people like you perceive this public display of the mental illness known as narcissism?
Don’t let facts get in the way of your emotional rant Natacha. The riot at the capitol complex would have remained outside the capitol complex had the authorized national guard been requested. P E R I O D! Your fabled mastermind of the so-called insurrection is the individual that authorized the national guard for additional security against the known intel threat of rioting. That same individual told the crowd to peacefully and patriotically protest. That must be more of Trump’s 3D level chess maneuvering, hmm? The most reasonable conclusion is one of two things: 1. There was a known possibility of a riot and the Mayor, Pelosi and the Capitol Police Chief incompetently managed the security preparedness. 2. There was a known possibility of a riot and those three competently enabled it to breach the Capitol building so they could call it an insurrection.
I’ll go with both.
More projection: first, you accuse me of being someone else. Then you accuse ME of ignoring facts and being emotional. Third, you ignore the root cause of the riot: Trump’s Big Lie, the result of his serious mental illness, lack of decency or honesty and a lifetime of conning and cheating people. He is used to cheating, threatening and abusing people to get his way. Don’t believe me? Ask Michael Cohen. You don’t know how far the riot would have gone with more police because these people had weapons. Some had guns, and they had guns available a short boat ride away. Just how many police should be necessary to quell a riot initiated by the POTUS? Mainly, you project fault away from where it belongs: with Trump. Your hero threw in the word “peacefully” to use as a lame excuse in the event that things would get out of control, which he hoped would happen. He WAS hoping his fans would injure or even kill Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi. This was his last stand: everything else failed. HE is the reason they erected a gallows and noose and chanted “Hang Mike Pence”. Why didn’t your hero step in immediately when he saw this happening?
You just cannot respond with logic or facts, especially as to Trump’s refusal for over 3 hours to call off the riot he instigated and refusal to defend Mike Pence, so you attack me. What he did is indefensible, and it takes some sort of serious delusion not to see the truth and to blame everyone except Trump.
Natcha back in the saddle
Kinzinger is auditioning for a spot in the msnbs lineup of unhinged talking heads. The other day I heard a snippet of Nicole Wallace interviewing Maddow. It was like listening to one of those overnight AM radio talk shows about aliens. They each had their own crazy to get on the table they kept talking over each other. Kinziger is hoping for a spot, but I don’t see him being able to out crazy the firmly entrenched. CNN is publicly trying to change couse, dumping existing hosts for more centrist talking heads, bet time will be the real test to save their ratings. Kinzinger has crazied himself out CNN consideration.
Kinzinger claim is exactly like all the rest of the claims around President Trump since 2017. Fodder for msnbc
Kinzinger just needs to name a crime. But as I pointed out here last week. Naming a crime, creates a list of elements, required to bring charges. Those elements require facts. Since there are no facts, there can be no crime.
Why would anyone watch CNN after they spent three plus years touting the false narrative that Trump was a Russian agent.? CNN has to be punished and made an example of.
Focus professor. The headline is about the Secret Service. The post is all about better fencing or the lack of National Guard presence
I become increasingly convinced that Trump touched Kinzinger inappropriately and he is suffering PTSD as a result.
I think Trump failed to touch Liz Cheney inappropriately resulting in a similar situation.
These are some broken people.
This is all noise for the Inside the Beltway crowd to pontificate to one another about. The rest of America really doesn’t care. The latest Harvard/Harris poll show just 7% of the public even cares about this.
https://harvardharrispoll.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/HHP_Oct2022_KeyResults.pdf
That poll was really telling how much the Democrats are out of touch with reality.
It’s what happens when you live in a bubble and never talk to anyone outside of your peers. It reminds me of the old anecdote from 1972, I can’t remember who said it: “I can’t understand how Nixon got reelected. I don’t know anyone who voted for him”.
A few months back, Kinzinger was sure that the Jan. 6 committee has “proven” a criminal case against Trump. Yet, a few days ago in his interview on ABC, when asked if the Committee was going to refer the case to the DOJ for criminal charges, he said that it wouldn’t be necessary to do that because the DOJ was already pursuing Trump “pretty hard.” Translation: the Committee found absolutely nothing they could use to incriminate Trump, so now let’s see if the DOJ can conjure up something. The Democrats have thrown everything against the wall, but none of it stuck. And, despite zero evidence of criminality, foolish Democrats will continue to insist that Trump is criminal. Meanwhile, they ignore actual evidence of the crude criminality and influence peddling of Biden & Son. We’re dealing with very psychologically sick people in the Democratic party
“something going on at the Secret Service”
“potentially very criminal activity””
What does that even mean?
Is this a set up for the next bombshell they have been promising us all these months?
” just having a preference for one side or the other.”
What? Like all the FBI agents who lied to get the FISA warrants?
Or is he referencing the recent Michelle Obama driver and SS agent harassing a woman?
Or is he referencing the SS agents involved in the Hunter Biden lying on ATF 4473?
“The available evidence indicates that the House was warned and that the need for National Guard deployments were discussed.”

When you’re trying to destroy a society (at the behest of WEF) you refuse to defend its institutions even if you’re running them. I’m looking at you “very Catholic” Nancy.
Time for Kinzinger and the disgraceful January 6 Committee, his membership on which is entirely dependent upon his remarkable lack of curiosity and deficient integrity, is running out.
mespo…….didn’t Nancy coin the phrase: “Ave Maria, gee, it’s good to see ya!!”? 🙂
There were cameras all over the interior of the Capitol, yet Pelosi refused to allow any of the videos to be released.
BabyTrump is flat-out wrong: Republicans selected two representatives to be on the Committee, but Pelosi refused to allow them. That’s when the Republicans called the Committee a sham and chose not to participate. It is a highly-scripted show-trial, one-sided, without due process or opportunity for dissenting views. Very typical of trials in Russia, Communist China, Cuba, etc. Authoritarian/totalitarian. Yes, the riot was wrong, no doubt about it. But please don’t tell me that the Committee is a reflection of a democracy.
Republicans selected five representatives for the committee of which two were refused and could have been replaced with other Republicans. Get it right. I’ve seen dozens of videos from inside the Capitol, I guess you can’t find them where you watch media.
If you let the Speaker select the opposition members of the committee, you have the Stalinist model for a show trial.
Pelosi slandered these members as insurrectionists. Have any of them been called to testify?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ohio-rep-jim-jordan-says-he-wont-testify-before-jan-6-committee/ar-AASCRiS
Pelosi wouldn’t have selected the other three nor their replacements. Jordan’s role has yet to be determined yet he was talking to the President that day, according to him.
The raid of the chicken hen:
The fox is showing videos of the chicken hen to prove he didn’t do it. Enigma believes the fox, while the fox hides the rest of the videos.
What missing voideos are you looking for?
Go back to sleep. You have no clue what they have been hiding, because you watch CNN.
The ones that have not been released to the public. Many personal videos show a different story than the videos released by Pelosi. Without question the Capitol cameras should have captured the same things and more.
Why don’t you know this already?
What is the story you think hasn’t been shown? I can’t possibly know what’s in your mind. Which is a good thing.
Don’t be stupid enigma. The videos were held and still all the videos have not been released. No. Some of the videos initially held proved one J6 protestor innocent. Someone messed up when that video was released.
Before many of the videos were released personal videos showed the Capitol police letting people in. Had it not been for the personal videos we might never have known that or they may have been released later.
You should have stayed silent rather than prove yourself to be a fool. Not that Capitol police didn’t let some people in. Let me guess, you think they were Antifa of BLM. Try listening to the testimony of Oathkeepers and Proud Boys. That’s the more revealing story.
Enigma, don’t make things up. The videos demonstrate the capitol police letting entire groups of people in. The videos taken in the west tunnel show a protestor *on the ground* being beaten with a baton or stick by a black police officer. That protestor was a woman named Roseanne Boyland. She died.
By the way Enigma, I don’t prove myself a fool or you could prove it. You do and that proof is littered all over the blog.
S. Meyer, how do you know videos were withheld? Exactly how many in total are there? If you know then you would know they haven’t shown all of them. So how many videos in total are there?
“S. Meyer, how do you know videos were withheld? Exactly how many in total are there? If you know then you would know they haven’t shown all of them. So how many videos in total are there?”
Take note of how you ask me questions because much of the time I have answers. Take note of how you don’t have answers. You have guesses that are mostly wrong or demonstrate a mind that is childish and ignorant.
Why should I do your research when you will make the same claims despite the research and request the research again. It is not how many videos there are rather how many hours of video they have. Your statement shows you don’t have any understanding of the thousands of hours on the video. You also don’t follow the news since there were a lot of dumb answers as to why the government couldn’t provide them all.
You are really dumb.
Svelaz, you never disappoint. You show up with circular points that lead nowhere. I’ve made it a game to seek your responses out for a SMH laugh.
Look in the mirror, you are the one making a fool out of yourself.
You’re right, when I allow myself to get into arguments with fools, it is a bad look.
One thing is painfully obvious about the Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans in Washington DC, they will do anything to stop any information that doesn’t agree with their January 6th narrative, or cast doubt on their conclusions, from reaching the public. The Democrats have shown their true colors. It’s very clear to me that there’s ongoing active collusion to intentionally obstruct a full disclosure of the events leading up to January 6th and the events of that day, and the best evidence if this active collusion to obstruct the January 6th Committee itself, it has been a 100% one-sided witch hunt actively building of a one-sided propaganda narrative and openly suppressing any contradictory evidence and anyone that denies that fact is a bald-faced liar.
As far as I’m concerned, the January 6th Committee are actively obstructing justice.
Jonnie, the ‘desecration of our constitutional order’ took place when the Dem/RedLeft/Globalists/RINOs/DeepState/BigTech folks all acted in concert to ‘fortify the election’ which of course meant ILLEGALLY preventing Trump’s re-election. And for those of you who will tell me that’s a conspiracy theory, I just laugh. They published what they did, they were so proud of it, in that Time Magazine article. If you haven’t read it, do so. And then just consider the CTCL did with providing hundreds of millions to election boards (which HAVE TO BE NONPARTISAN) to target low motivation Dem voters with mailin ballots and ballot harvesting to drive ridiculous turnout rates and support for Biden in key areas to swing several states. Zuckerberg spent over 400 million on this. When you couple this with the Deep State and Media and Big Tech’s collusion to suppress evidence of Joe Biden’s corruption on Hunter Biden’s laptop (stop referring to it just as his laptop – it’s the evidence of Joe’s fraud that’s important, not his lowlife son’s pecadillos). In fact we have solid polling data showing that if this smoking gun evidence of massive, long running official corruption by Joe via his family that 10% of the population would have change their Biden vote. Fyi, that would have resulted in a landslide for Trump. Or consider just how the tech/media companies suppression of conservative thought and promotion of Prog-Marxist values was an illegal, ‘in kind’ contribution to Joe Biden’s re-election.
Responding to the desecration of democracy isn’t more desecration, rather, Jan 6th was the inchoate cry of the MAJORITY of Americans who have been left behind by elitists like you Jonnie. I mean, I guess they are supposed to just suck it up and say ‘Oh well, those Dems are sure good at cheating at elections, I guess we’ll get them next time’? Just how disconnected from reality are you and many others reading here?
Turley: “Whether there is “very criminal activity,” one thing is very clear: there has been very little interest in pursuing the question of who was responsible for the woefully inadequate security around the Capitol on Jan. 6th.”

I think that the Democrats, Pelosi, etc, wanted a Reichstag Fire excuse to declare an emergency and take yet more autocratic measures. We have gotten to the point that there will always be an ‘insurrection’ or Covid or Monkey Pox, or Whitmer Kidnapping to justify yet more Stalinist measures. If they don’t happen by chance they will be manufactured by those who are sworn to protect the Constitution and country while caring for neither. The Mafia looks moral compared to these people.
We all know why the Committee won’t pursue the lack of preparations on Capitol Hill — because that would plop this whole mess in Nancy’s lap, and none of the Democrats and wanna-be Democrats on the Committee will do that. Nancy set up the Committee as her third “get-Trump” attempt, but again without clearly thinking through to the end and the consequences it could have on her own party. That’s the problem we see with Democrats on most issues, from immigration to involving the US in wars that are none of our business. Democrats never think things through to the end. They are like impulsive addicts who want their fix now, and forget about any consequences for tomorrow.
No. They carefully think through all of their schemes. They’re just wrong. EVERYTHING they do is carefully designed with the goal of cementing their power.
Go back to the 2008 financial meltdown. How many times did you hear Obama and Democrats refer to it as the “worst recession since the Great Depression.” (It wasn’t. GDP declined less than 4% from peak to trough.) The recession was officially over by June 2009. Yet the stimulus package Democrats enacted was designed not to have immediate impact – when people were hurting the most. No, they designed it so the maximum economic impact would be in the months leading up to the 2010 midterms. They believed that would help them hold power. Instead, voters gave them what Obama called a “shellacking” in one of the largest landslides ever. But make no mistake. They designed it in such a way they believed it would give them the greatest electoral advantage.
EVERYTHING they do is carefully designed to increase their power. EVERYTHING.
Harry Reid nuked the filibuster for judicial appointments so Obama could stack the judiciary with far left activists. Then when they lost control of the Senate, and the presidency, it had the exact opposite effect. But the ONLY reason why Reid nuked the filibuster was for raw political power.
About 90% of black Americans vote Democrat. So Democrats campaign on one of the most blatant vote buying schemes they’ve ever concocted. They want to give blacks a big fat stipend for their vote, everyone is supposed to nod and pretend their vote buying scheme is to compensate blacks because Democrats enslaved blacks a century and a half ago.
Whatever the issue, the Democrats will concoct a “solution” that is intended to concentrate their power. It’s just that voters still have a say. Yet, no matter how often their schemes to concentrate power backfire in their face, they keep trying.
Last week Biden admitted publicly he was coercing Saudi Arabia to lower oil prices before midterms by threatening them with consequences. Is that quid pro quo? Should Biden kinda, sorta, maybe be investigated for impeachment in Congress? Yes indeed, add it to the list of Biden’s clearly impeachable offenses.
Last week Biden admitted publicly he was coercing Saudi Arabia to lower oil prices
The media is burying the story. But the railroad strike that Biden supposedly White Knighted, is still on. The only thing Biden did was get the unions to wait until after the mid terms to strike. No contract negotiations have reached any agreements.
The corruption is so deep in the Dems it swallows all that comes near.
“Biden admitted publicly he was coercing Saudi Arabia to lower oil prices before midterms by threatening them with consequences.”
So can he, and the rest of his environmental nihilists, be made to suffer the consequences of raising all energy prices?
Perhaps those consequences are coming in November.
Question the very obviously biased FBI and they call you a traitor, accuse the Secret Service of lying…fine. Accuse the Border Patrol of whipping migrants…fine. Throw Molotov cocktails into police cars…probation. Burn down Federal Courthouses…fine. Walk into the Capital, years in prison. Block a highway for hours to protest something on the left…fine. Protest an abortion clinic, swat team time baby. Be a Democrat and argue against electors, as Jamie Raskin did on his first day in office, fine, claim the election was stolen, as Stacy Abrams did, fine, argue that the Russians stole the election, as Clinton did, fine, be a Republican and question an election and you are an ELECTION DENIER to be on the same level as a Holocaust denier.
The new double standard is the gravest danger to our way of life that we have seen since Joe McCarthy who by the way was more right than the J6 Committee.
This is America of the left, or as I like to call it Doublestandardstan.
Here comes Svelaz and Anonymous to say “but Trump and Fox” in about 100 comments each. Two guys with no life, no imagination, no honesty and no trouble being the male bullies of the room.
What makes you think the commenters you mentioned are male? That’s some kind of … ginistic!
Dennis, I was waiting for someone to try to make some point about me calling Svelaz and Anonymous males, and you accommodated me. After reading these two children in about 1000 comments it is obvious to most that they are males by their actions, attitudes and language. Now I don’t think that gender can be assumed by any particular trait, but in the “totality of the circumstances” it sure seems like these two are guys.
I would like to add that, most importantly, I through out the “these commenters are male” line as an ironic way to put them on the defensive by using a leftist tactic of “shaming” guys for…being guys. I wanted to make these two weak thinking lefties see how it feels to be attacked for “mansplaining”, or in other words being a man with an opinion. Oh, the horror.
Let’s keep a couple things in mind here. The Repos could have been part of this committee, they chose (chose, get that, chose) not to be part of it. So any complaints about opposing points of view are utter BS. The Repos chose to make this a political point. January 6, 2020 will go down in history as an insurrection after the sitting president failed to get reelected. Disgusting.
Secondly…Cassidy Hutchinson said she heard that there was a struggle in the limo. JT says “I previously wrote about this alleged incident. Ornato denied the allegation.” Keep in mind Cassidy was under oath when she made her statement. I do not believe Ornate was under oath when he denied the allegation. And I also believe there has been other corroborating evidence of a struggle from more than just Cassidy.
Trump and his ilk rarely say truthful things. I believe it was Don Jr that recently said the Repo party is dead, it is now the Trump party. One of the few true statements from a Trump.
BabyTrump: Here’s another thing to keep in mind: McCarthy did propose two Republicans for the Committee, but Pelosi rejected them out of hand. That sent a clear signal that she wasn’t going to have anyone on the Committee that would ask hard questions or question the narrative that she put in place. The republicans then realized that this Committee had an agenda, and it wasn’t about getting to the truth — McCarthy was right to refuse to participate in a show trial. So if you’re going to lecture people to keep things in mind, at least get your facts straight. As for Cassidy Hutchinson, are you really that naive to think that someone wouldn’t lie under oath, especially if they have the nod from the Speaker of the House? And as for “Trump and his ilk rarely saying truthful things” — have you not been listening to Biden these last 2 years? Or are you just so blinded by TDS that you can’t see what’s in front of your face?
Facts strait? hahahahahahahahaha
The Repos selected 5, Pelosi rejected 2 that are complete imbeciles. Those 2 had an agenda and Pelosi said no way, give me 2 others. McCarthy cried in his beer that he was being rejected so he took his toys and went home.
If Cassidy lied under oath, she can be charged with perjury. Ornate has not been under oath. Which is telling the truth? We don’t know for sure other than Cassidy has had her testimony confirmed by others. Ornate is a political hack hand picked by trump. He is a trump wanna be so has a reason to say what he did. Cassidy has no agenda to prove anything, to my understanding.
Biden is no favorite of mine. I wasn’t talking about him at all so how do you know what I think about him? Did Biden and his son use his position as VP to make money? IMHO, most certainly yes, along with 95%+ of all Congressman and Senators. Did Trump and his kids use his position as Prez to make money, IMHO, most certainly yes.
“ McCarthy did propose two Republicans for the Committee, but Pelosi rejected them out of hand. That sent a clear signal that she wasn’t going to have anyone on the Committee that would ask hard questions or question the narrative that she put in place.”
No, she rejected them because it was obvious that they were not going to be there to investigate but to obstruct and obfuscate. PLUS they were participants in the whole thing. Republicans STILL had the option of appointing two different members of their party. McCarthy didn’t want to do that because he wanted the two Pelosi rejected. Republicans HAD the opportunity to have equal representation if a commission was created instead. Republicans voted NO. That’’s on them. The moment they rejected an equally bipartisan commission they abdicated their right to complain. Pelosi offered them ANOTHER chance to have members in the committee. After throwing a fit over the two rejected members AND having the option of offering two different ones and WITHDRAWING them except Liz Chaney and Kinzinger republicans lost any rights to complain about how “unfair” or “biased” the committed is. It’s their own fault.
Stop replying to this bot. The lie like they are told to lie.
All of this has been explained often in these comments. With all the supporting links to backup the truth. Notice the bots don’t us links.
“ Notice the bots don’t us links.” S. Meyer is a bot? Now THAT is surprising.
Iowan2, It HAS been explained multiple times how Republicans were given plenty of opportunity to joint a bipartisan commission and how they rejected it and then offered another opportunity to joint the committed and they rejected it too. They have no one to blame but themselves. They lost the right to complain the moment they said “NO”.
Democrats interfered with the legitimate choice of Republicans. Therefore, Democrats destroyed the committee and made it invalid.
You say that but you are unable and afraid to prove it.
“Democrats interfered with the legitimate choice of Republicans. “ Yes
“Therefore, Democrats destroyed the committee and made it invalid.” Yes
You just want to mouth off.
Of course, the media stated there was something wrong with Trump as he was slowly walking down the ramp at West Point. But now he’s Bruce Willis in the back seat of his Limo.
“. . . they chose (chose, get that, chose) . . .”
Sure. About like this is a “choice:”
You puncture my tires. Then accuse me of “choosing” to not drive.
Your focus on the lack of high level of security is an enormous issue; one deserving much more attention and accountability. Was there an intent by the Democratic leadership in both Congress and the office of the DC Mayor to allow and hope for a riot, chaos, and security breaches that would then be used to incriminate the America First, MAGA and pro Trump population? Did these people get rolled, duped by the Democrats in charge?
JOHN P PATTERSON JR wrote, “Was there an intent by the Democratic leadership in both Congress and the office of the DC Mayor to allow and hope for a riot, chaos, and security breaches that would then be used to incriminate the America First, MAGA and pro Trump population?”
That’s an interesting question; however, even if it’s damningly true it does not negate the fact that people rioted and illegally entered the Capitol building. The rioters made a choice, a bad choice.
Steve Witherspoon: Yes, the rioters made a bad choice. But that doesn’t magically turn a riot into an insurrection. Having studied revolutions throughout history, I can tell you that revolutionaries and insurrectionists are usually armed to the teeth. There have been no cases of them wielding only cameras.

Please note that I did not write “insurrection” and I never will use that word to describe the riot on January 6th because there was no insurrection there was only a riot, period! The false propaganda narrative of an insurrection is a LIE and they’re trying to ram that false narrative lie down the throats of the public.
Remember: “repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth”, is a law of propaganda often attributed to the Nazi Joseph Goebbels.
The Trump supporters made a bad choice a willful choice coerced into it by Trump himself. Even the rioting Trump supporters have been saying they did it because he told them to.
Again, you never disappoint. LOL, on cue!
unarmed… wearing hook em horns hats
Even calling this a riot is pushing it – to use the language of the left J6 was mostly peaceful.
The only people killed were killed by cops.
Real violence was limited to only a few locations.
Most people walked in, walked around and walked out.
While there is alot of information about being unprepared.
I do not honestly think they needed to be that much better prepared – they needed to be less stupid – or less devious one or the other.
The violence occured because the capital was locked down. When has that happened when congress was in session.
The 2500 member capital police were capable of leaving the capital open, searching people as they entered, limiting the number of people in at one time. There is no evidence that these protestors would have acted violently had they been given the ability to do as they wished and “petition government” which is their constitutional right.
My suspicion is that Pelosi deliberately locked the capital because she was worried that more republicans would cave and object tot he election – if there were protestors marching through the capital demanding that. I also suspect that she hoped that locking the doors would trigger violence.
I think she got exactly what she wanted.
Steve: It does however change the legal ststus of those taking part in the riot. It’s one thing to be organized and to conspire to commit a crime and yet another to spontaneiously make a bad choice, as you put it. I think the disorganized, haphazard behavior of the crowd shows that there was no grand conspiracy behind their actions. There very well may also have been preplanned conspiracies by groups that egged on the rest of the people to riot and enter the building. We should have all the facts sometime early next year when the Republicans retake the House and expose the facts. Gen. Walker, the House sergeant at arms is already on record criticizing his boss, Nany Pelosi, for failing to prepare even as he catalogged security meetings that occurred a week or more before the riot. The J6 commottee is about to get weak knees as they realize 1) they didn’t accomplish much of what they hoped for and 2) their replacements will do the job they purposely failed to do.
Do you have a source for the house sargent of arms remarks regarding pelosi.
I am aware of many other factors undermining the idiotic naratives of J6.
But I was not aware anyone close to the top of the sargent of Arm’s office had spoken out.
What mitigates the fact that people illegally entered the capital is the CONSTITUTION – specifically the first amendment right to petition government. I am not aware of the US capital ever being “locked down” while in session. Frankly I am not aware of ANY state capital being locked down while in session. Why is it that LEft wing nuts are allowed to take axes into the capital to protest the confirmation of Kavanaugh
And republicans get the doors locked on them.
Petitioning government is a right, there is no place more central to doing so than the US capital.
Long ago with respect to free speech the courts have ruled that you can not get arround the first amendment by limits on time and place that are clearly efforts to limit reach. You can not say – you can speak freely, but only on Sunday nights in the shower.
Pelosi could legitimately have asked for assistance from the National Guard which we all know was available to her. Though I do not honestly think she needed it. But she was not free to lock people out of the capital while Congress was in session.
Why does the DC mayor have anything to do with this ?
One of the big problems here was that The Capital area itself is controlled entirely by the capital police, The Sargents of arms offices and the leader of the house and senate.
The Executive has NOTHING to do with it – not the AG, not DOD, not the Park Police, not the DC police.
The president has authority throughout nearly all of DC – not the capital.
We have no proof of anything. and even if we did – Pelosi did not plan what happened – but I do think she deliberately “rope-a-doped” trump
He tried to stage a protest/political action in HER HOUSE and he failed to grasp the ways she could make things go wrong.
I beleive locking down the capital was malicious and deliberate.
On the one had we have everyon saying they were not prepared for a threat – on the other locking down the capital sure looks like they expected problems ? It is not logically consistent that you shutdown the capital but do NOT call in the NG when offered – unless the whole point is to see if you can make a protest go to h311
“ Moreover, different recollections of a conversation are generally not going to be good grounds for prosecution. The judge in the Danchenko trial just threw out a count based on the certainty of language.”
Funny that he mentions this because this can apply to Hunter Biden an the possible charges against him. How ironic.
The evidence — at least that has been made public — is all written down in emails and on tax forms and on applications for a gun license. It is not based on recollections of converstations
