Pronoun Lockdown: Almost Half of Millennials Want Jail Time for “Misgendering”

A recent survey by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek, found that 44 percent  of millennials (between ages 25-34) favor criminal charges for people who use the wrong pronouns for others or so-called “misgendering.”  We have previously discussed how misgendering is now a crime in countries like Great Britain. Misgendering has been referred to as an “act of violence” at some U.S. universities.

There has been a concern that we are seeing the rise of a generation of censors, who have been taught since a young age that speech is harmful and even violent.

Yet, hate speech is protected in the United States. Given that fact, it is astonishing to claim that a pronoun violation could lead to incarceration. Only 31 percent of the millennials disagreed with the proposition.

They are not alone.

Recently, Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.), who is a lawyer, said that “if you espouse hate … you’re not protected under the First Amendment.” Former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean declared the identical position: “Hate speech is not protected by the First Amendment.”

Even some dictionaries now espouse this false premise, defining “hate speech” as “Speech not protected by the First Amendment, because it is intended to foster hatred against individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, sexual preference, place of national origin, or other improper classification.”

If hate speech is constitutionally protected, pronoun use or misuse is also protected as a criminal matter. (There is ongoing litigation of the protection in an employment setting for civil liability or disciplinary action). Yet, the most serious concern is the inclination of this generation to use criminal laws to police such questions.  It reflects the erosion of free speech principles with younger generations.  That crisis of faith could prove disastrous with free speech in a virtual free fall in Europe.

  1. We had one in our Volenteer fire dept. I refused to call her “him”. I was not going to play into this kids fantasy. The kid needed help and instead most just validated her mental issue. And, the fire dept lost another potential female to lead as an example for others.

  4. There are those on this blog who absolutely support the sexualization of children. They even hate a movie that brings to light the child pornographic industry in America. Why? Here’s some hate speech for you. A person who wants to sexualize children is simply a pedophile. Oh shame on me for using hate speech to explain the pleasure that they receive through there “minor attraction.” These people are indeed different than me and I hate them for what they want to do to children and all the propaganda they put out will never change that. I am not calling for violence to stop them but I am calling for more police funding to stop them from executing their perversion on the most innocent among us.     As a gay man I REFUSE to stand any longer with LGBTQ! DO NOT trust them and I told others years ago they would try to push depravity and here we are!
    There are quite a few in the culture I know that are fed up with this BS as well and just want to fit in and get along. We don’t shove our lifestyle in people’s faces, respect people’s positions on protecting children, and do NOT condone public depravity like it has been occuring in the prode fairs.
    Initially, all we asked for was job stability, insurance for us and our spouses and to be able to marry and yes there are those of us that do respect our vows and monogamy!
    Others have taken it way beyond that to the point of absurdity, an utter depraved circus trying to get our society to allow mental illness as the norm while grown men that make complete a—s out of themselves wearing a wig calling themselves a woman or idiots seeping into the political arena like Brinton, Levene or Jones making a complete mockery of government roles. They lack common sense, integrity, self respect, manners, idea of right from wrong, or any shred of morals period!

    This has gone way beyond acceptable and many of us who are gay and lesbian WILL NOT be lumped in with mentally F’d up people!

    This is majorly sick people and this is coming from a gay man! Start taking action before the mental left takes over this country! They have a good foothold and this is unacceptable!

    1. I have been surprised that more gay men and women have not spoken out along these lines. Especially since many of the children identifying as “trans” would likely simply be gay if they were allowed to “desist” as nearly every one of them would. Deep down, trans ideology is nothing but conformity to gender stereotypes, with the added element that if you are “gender non-conforming” you should mutilate yourself to conform.

What’s truly frightening is that an entire generation (as well as those right behind them) have been educated in a way that would make Mao proud. The public educational system and much of higher education has become a fifth column seeking to destroy this country. If something is not done to clean out this hive of scum and villiany, America has no future, at least not as a free nation.

  12. I saw this coming and warned about it post 911 – there were reports about free speech in Europe and people being incarcerated for having an offensive sign in their shop window or voicing against Islamic terror.
    We also had the many reports about the demoncrats wanting to be more like Europe, and of course Canada having some of the same incarceration issues against free speech, as well as the UK and Germany directly cited in articles for egregious clamp downs and prison sentences.

    So now it’s blossoming and coming home to make it’s destruction the new way forward. Obviously it’s the movers and shakers not bowing to the woke religion that have been attacked relentlessly.
    It’s okay though if you attack whites or traditional males or males in general or Christians in general, all the hatred you can muster, all the violent speech is great and encouraged.

    It’s really amazing how sick and twisted it is and the covid reactionaries and massive liars across the board are another indication.
    I knew immediately what total bogarts were in charge of that.
    No family jabs, NONE.
    No tests (all fraudulent anyway see Mullis the inventor), no masks, etc.

  17. Why isn’t this compelled speech, which the Supreme Court just said is a violation of the First Amendment? The government cannot stop someone from using pronouns in a traditional way, based on sex as opposed to claimed gender identity. To hold otherwise would be to countenance compelled speech.

Just few examples (deplorable, raciest, Karen) or a slew of other words or phrases they use to define their opponent could be defined as hate speech. The doors to this issue may not have an exit sign when accepted word definition is arbitrary.
