The voting continues with the ABA. Some would say that we are outmatched in second place with 66 votes to The Legal Satyricon with 106. But every great movie from Rocky to Star Wars has the underdog struggling before a thrilling victory. Yea, that’s us. Part Rocky, Part Jedi. Worse yet, that means a planet will be destroyed (who needs to threaten kittens) if we lose. By the way, the low numbers over all are the result of a weirdly rigid and awkward voting system. The result is that it suppresses the votes overall and requires people to go through a couple of steps. Below is your weekly inspiration to get the vote out.
Remember this my friends: We few, we happy few, we band of brothers, For he today who sheds his vote with me shall be my brother, Be he ne’er so vile, this day shall gentle his condition, and gentlemen of other blogs now abed shall think themselves acursed they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whilst any speaks, that fought with us upon ABA Blawgs days!
Folks, I was never one tae cheer on a team that I knew was a’losin’. I have survived many defeats in my 60+ years and I aint makin’ no predictions at the outcome of the vote.
However, I kinda feel like ol’ Verne more that I feel like ol’ Bravehard:
Please Mr. ‘Custard’ I don’t wanna go, Forward Ho!
Theys uh injun waitin’ out thar fixin’ tae take my hare
Whatta I’m doin’ here…
Dredd–
I must look into this. We had no plans to “body snatch” the Bobblehead of Babble and make exact duplicates. Spread the word: No podding of Palin–PLEASE! One is definitely enough.
Optional Addendum #2 to the Turley Blawg Cheer:
Boo who? Boo
The Satyriconistas.
Belt ’em in their blawg
And kick ’em in their keisters.
Gyges,
Great video of a great speech. I like Jill’s idea of multiple email accounts as a way of being able to make the proper number of votes in favor of the JT Blog. We all need to get to work and produce a victory from this current second place showing. Where do we get our personal Pod Person?
I have it on good authority that the dreaded other blog is going to harm kittens no matter who wins, they may even kick a puppy and punch a mime. O.k. so that last one isn’t so bad.
Barry Manilow has a lot of friends.
Vince and rcampbell,
May I suggest a g-mail account?
We simply must view everything in the proper perspective….
Que Sera Sera
I tried to vote as John Marshall, Salmon P Chase, Harlan Fiske Stone, and Earl Warren, but was rebuked by the pettifoggers at ABA.
When R.B.Taney was asked to cast a vote for Turley, he began rotating in his grave like a whirling dervish.
We need a change of venue! It appears the ABA voting is not being done in Chicago as I had hoped. I tried to vote for ONLY the second time and was turned away. What’s up with THAT!!!
“Over?
“Did you say over?
“Nothing is over till we decide it is.”
Elaine M,
I was wondering where that second Sarah came from …

Her husband doesn’t mind, next time he will buy two of them …

C E. Kook suggested going negative, a time honored strategy. All those other blogs only got into this category because Max Baucus was having an affair with their authors. I’d also consider getting all those Nigerian princes to send out pleas for votes while they are soliciting money to claim their inheritance.
Hmm, This is sounding like the World Series of 1908. Do I hear 10,000? Shoeless Joe, are you here with us in spirit? Is it the roaring 20’s already? Are you gonna get banned for life, yet again? Are we repeating history a century later? Is there just something about those folks that like the Chicago White Soxs?
Done!
Now go win this thing, kid.
JT–
I’ve found an abandoned greenhouse far from the madding crowd perfect for mass production of our pod people. I’ve also purchased gallons of Miracle-Gro to ensure rapid growth of our exact human duplicates who will “be birthed” in time to vote for the Turley blawg before the competition closes.
Elaine M:
Excellent. The location will remain hidden from our competitors. Our army of pod people shall overwhelm the competition!
I thought a little Turley blawg cheer might be in order. Here’s a rah-rah quartrain with an optional boo-hiss couplet:
Turley’s, Turley’s…that’s the blog
For the best legal dialogue…
Keeps its readers all agog.
Let’s give three cheers—and drink some grog!
Addendum (Optional)
The Satyriconistas are a bunch of swillers…
A band of malevolent kitty killers.
I particularly like the addendum. I
On the plus side, I actually could make sure we win this. By a landslide. 4:1.
That, however, would be cheating. We leave that kind of behavior to neocons, lobbyists, trolls and blogs that threaten kittens here at Res Ispa Loquitur. I’m not saying they ARE cheating, but if they’ll threaten the kitties? Eh, it’s a small step.
Being the good guys may have some constraints, but hey, everything has a price including being on the side of justice and equity.
Unlike a blog that would threaten lil’ baby kitties.
VOTE FOR JUSTICE AND EQUITY! VOTE TURLEY!
BIL:
I draw the line at Elaine’s army of pod people. But the night is young . . .
We got moral Turleytude dudes … you only got turpitude … give it up!
Alternatively…
