I recently wrote a column about how “American politics has become a matter of simple amplification.” This week, Lia McGeever vividly made this point at the San Francisco Board of Advisers by choosing to simply scream into a mike as her statement on a recent case. The Board has nothing to do with the case, but McGeever wanted the cathartic moment. Nothing says the age of rage as much as a primal scream session in a public board meeting.
The Board is one of the most liberal in the country and is currently working on a massive reparations proposal to pay black residents up to $5 million each for past racism (California was a free state).
McGeever, however, begins by heaping insults on the Board as reactionary and craven:
“I live in [District 6]. I hate a lot of people on this board… for the reasons that led up to Banko Brown’s death. So, often I prepare something — maybe it’s a little historical, may even be a little poetic, whatever. There’s a lot of performative people on this board who will say one thing and support Black people, homeless people, trans people, and then immediately stab you in the face — being racist, transphobic, anti-homeless.
So I don’t have any words prepared today. I just want you to feel our pain. I don’t know if you can at this point, based off your policy choices, but I have to pretend you have some form of empathy left. So, I am going to spend the next minute screaming cause that is what is going on in here.”
She then give a prolonged, blood-curdling scream and added “That is what the trans genocide in this country, in this city, has brought me to.”
No, that is what an age of rage has brought all of us to. This entire scream session was due to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announcing that her office would not prosecute Michael-Earl Wayne Anthony, a Walgreens security guard responsible for the shooting death of Banko Brown, a Black member of the transgender community. Jenkins declared that “the evidence clearly shows that the suspect believed he was in mortal danger and acted in self-defense.”
Our politics is now reduced to a collective scream session with zero content beyond pure unadulterated rage.
As I noted earlier, this trend was previously captured by Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) who is shown on videotape screaming about gun control in the Capitol as his colleagues left the floor following a vote. When Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) asked Bowman to stop yelling, Bowman shouted back: “I was screaming before you interrupted me” — which could go down as the epitaph for our age.
A great many of us warned about the society-wide coddling when there was still time to intervene. Nobody listened, and here we are. It is only going to get SO much worse. Sorry, but it is. Dark times ahead.
Interesting that neither the Japanese nor Chinese who were discriminated against for generations and often barred from owning real property in the covenants of deeds, or that the Japanese were placed into concentration camps during WW2 which required them to leave their homes and sell them at pennies on the dollar, for example from Japantown in the Fillmore where for many of the Black Americans migrants from the South who came to work in the war industries eventually settled.
And what about California’s Native American population that lost much more that any of the others through theft of lands, treaty violations, discrimination, etc., etc.,
This is not to minimize or ignore the discrimination (whether imbedded in the law or otherwise) against the Black population in California- though $5 million is a nonsensical figure pulled out of a hat – there seems to be a ‘feel good’ dual standard when it comes to reparations.
Ed, supposed.y the state of California is 22 billion dollars in debt. One of the geniuses that came up with that figure for reparations said they didn’t use math to come up with that figure. Really!
People who should be receiving mental health treatment are, instead, being allowed to invade city council and legislative meetings. They’re even given a microphone so they can demonstrate, in real time, the failures of our mental health system. A nation that can’t take care of the people living in it should not be opening its borders to millions of undocumented illegals. That’s only going to crush the health care infrastructure even more. Democrats caused this, yet they’ll be the first ones screaming into the mic when they can’t get services for their alphabet groups.
This tickles me.

And I was right then. Greed was good.
America needed greed and risk-taking
and leverage to get to become the
superpower we are… or were. And
capitalism needed greed and risk and
leverage to become the economic
platform it has become… but those
same attributes that got us there are
now the liabilities that threaten to
destroy us.
So greed has been redefined. Who
knows — maybe it was always like this
and like everything else in this
world, it’s good and it is evil.
Because people — it’s greed that
caused someone who aspires to own a
seven-hundred thousand dollar house
they can’t afford, to take on a loan
they’ll never be able to pay back…
and it’s greed that caused their
mortgage lender to give them that loan
then sell it right away… and it’s
greed that caused the buyer of that
loan to slice it into a million little
pieces then spit them all over the
world… and it’s greed that caused
the rating agency to give that toxic
loan a triple-A rating just because it
was mixed in with some good loans…
and it’s greed that caused the
insurance company to insure that loan.

When we abandoned time-tested cultural parameters for such things as parenting and acceptable social behaviors for such untested anthropological experiments such as Dr. Spock’s methodology for raising children and the concepts of a welfare state and affirmative action we destroyed the foundations upon which western civilization based. What we were givien as a replacement is a multicultural mish-mash that allows for the individual (usually now left with the emotional control of a toddler) to feel as if his self-centered needs outway any commitment to the larger society in general. This person screaming at a public forum reminded me of my two year old when he was denied a cookie. We will not survive as a society or nation unless we can dispence with the prog/left agenda now wanting to “fundamentally transform” the world in general and America specifically.
Consider the following quote from a newly published academic paper by 3 scholars, a Dutch philosopher, a management professor at Rotterdam, and John Ioannidis, MD, PhD at Stanford. John Ioannidis is the most cited physician researcher in the world. He waged a fierce evidenced based data war against COVID lockdowns including targeting the WHO and the CDC, in various published papers. He was mocked ruthlessly by the MSM and many in the science community, but now we all know he was right all along. We are in a death spiral, according to Ioannidis and colleagues:
Ants rely on each other for survival and often hunt for prey together. They use pheromones to locate each other and they follow the ones in front of them. This usually works quite well, although sometimes the ants get locked in what is called an “ant mill” or “death spiral”. This can happen when a subset of ants gets separated from the main foraging group and begin following each other. They start forming a continuously rotating circle, and the ants caught up in this death spiral often die from exhaustion. It has even been observed that dead ants are being pushed out of the circle, while the ants maintain their rounds. This “ant mill” or “circular milling paradox” seems to be the evolutionary price that army ants pay for an otherwise successful strategy of collective foraging (Delsuc, 2003). The pathological, dysfunctional behavior is the other side of the coin of otherwise functional behavior.
The authors argue that a death spiral reflects some of the following traits: “a vicious cycle of self-reinforcing dysfunctional behavior” that includes denial, distrust, micromanagement, and learned helplessness. Corporations, governmental agencies, medical organizations, and others have fostered a death spiral, per the authors. Key markers such as government overreach, overintegration (interdepencies in networks) and distrust in institutions come together like in a vortex that results in a “collapse in legitimacy”. Sound familiar? They draw from theories such as Conservation of Resources Theory and management theories, among others, to describe the decline of groups, companies and societies.
It’s heady stuff, but incredibly persuasive. Happily the authors discuss an evidence-based solutions to stop this death spiral. Will the elites listen?

People argue that gender dysphoria disorder is not a mental health disorder despite decades of scientific study that clearly show that it is. This individual’s incoherent rant and primal scream just provides a great deal more evidence to the fact that this person suffers from a profound mental health disorder combining gender dysphoria disorder with narcissism, incoherence, There is some Marxism also in evidence which I would maintain is also a mental health disorder since people keep following it despite scientific, social and genocidal data to the contrary.
All of these “marches”‘ and “protests” at various red state State Houses is being done because of bills passed by legislatures that are all, every one of them, aimed at protecting children. There has not been one bill passed that has anything at all to do with drag or trans adults.
Leave the kids alone.
Given that the SF Board has no control over the District Attorney or her decisions, one wonders what Ms. McGeever hoped to accomplish by her public temper tantrum?

It was difficult to read this entire article, as I wanted to scream! What has happened to these people? What has turned their brains into cesspools of confusion, anger, hatred, self-indulgence and utter insanity? So very disheartening. How this person was able to so courteously articulate her feelings should provide onlookers with a true sense of wonder at the miracles being performed on a daily basis by the teachers and professors who instruct in our unheralded schools and universities. They obviously cherished their study time to have become such a fine, valued, and refined member of our society. Mental illness? Please!
