“An Interesting Name”: Biden Associates Testify on the Influence Peddling of the President and his Family

Below is my column in the New York Post on the testimony of Biden associate Rob Walker, who confirmed details on President Joe Biden meeting with Chinese figures as well as the use of the Biden name to generate millions in foreign payments. Yesterday, the House heard from Tony Bobulinski who confirmed that Biden was the “Big Guy” who was referenced as receiving ten percent from a Chinese deal. He also confirmed that, despite the President’s denials, he met with Joe Biden to discuss these dealings.

“Whites are Psychopathic”: UC Speaker Uses Black History Month to Launch into Racist Attacks

The University of California (San Francisco) is under fire this week after hosting a racist speaker who attacked white people as psychopaths and claimed that black women could be legally raped. A conservative campus group posted clips from the event in which author Dante King lambasted the United States and its institutions as racist and maintaining a white “rape culture.” Imagine if a speaker or professor gave a lecture that called blacks “psychopaths” and responsible for a rape culture. The university would be quickly shutdown in a campus-wide effort at introspection, condemnation, and healing. Instead, King’s lecture was followed by applause.

Can Biden Be Removed Under the 25th Amendment? Don’t Bet on It

Below is my column in The Hill on the applicability of the 25th Amendment to remove President Joe Biden in light of the Special Counsel report detailing his “diminished faculties.” Despite the various calls for using the amendment, it is neither practically likely nor factually warranted on the basis of his report.

Here is the column:

The Rasputin Effect: Biden Moves To Make Podesta the Climate Czar With A Crown… or a Confirmation

Below is my column in the New York Post on the move of the Biden White House to shift work of the “Climate Czar” from the State Department to the White House. John Podesta will now reportedly wield the power without the title and, most importantly, without a confirmation hearing.

What’s the Beef with “Cultivated Meat”? Florida Moves Toward Putting Cattle Before Capitalism

Florida this month may be forcing the question of whether the people prefer cattle or capitalism. A bill in the state would ban lab-grown meat, an effort supported by beef suppliers who want to slow the production and demand for the alternative product. The alleged “ethical and health concerns” remain speculative and unclear. As Adam Smith noted “this is one of those cases in which the imagination is baffled by the facts.”

New Filing Accuses Fani Willis of Misrepresenting the Date of her Affair with Nathan Wade

There was a notable filing in the ongoing scandal in Georgia over the intimate relationship between Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis and her subordinate special prosecutor Nathan J. Wade. Defense lawyer, Ashleigh Merchant, claims to have an affidavit that Willis lied about when the relationship began — a critical fact in her defense against ethical allegations. “That is Not the Judgment of the Press”: The White House Calls the Media to Heel With Disinformation Campaign

“That is not the judgment of the press.” Those words from President Joe Biden were a telling moment after a reporter noted that there is widespread concern that he is mentally diminished. Biden’s cranky response was overshadowed by his confusion on other points during the press conference, including mixing up the presidents of Egypt and Mexico. However, it captured the sense of license and expectation of the Biden White House that the press is supposed to toe the line, as it has for three years. The “Unassailable” Theory Faces a Potential Unanimous Rejection

This week, the argument before the Supreme Court in Trump v. Anderson captivated the nation as the justices considered the disqualification of former President Donald Trump from the 2024 presidential ballot. For some of us, the argument brought back vivid memories of covering Bush v. Gore almost 25 years ago. While one justice (Clarence Thomas) remains on the Court, the last major intervention of the Court into a close presidential election is a matter of distant history. “The Spirit of Aloha”: The Hawaii Supreme Court Challenges the U.S. Supreme Court Over Gun Rights

It has been 65 years since Hawaii became a state, but the Hawaiian Supreme Court appears to be having second thoughts. In an extraordinary ruling, the unanimous Supreme Court rejected the holdings of the United States Supreme Court on the Second Amendment as inapplicable to the 50th state. Hawaii apparently is controlled not by the precedent of the Supreme Court but the “spirit of Aloha.”  While Queen Liliʻuokalani would be pleased, the justices on that “other” Supreme Court may view such claims as more secessional than spiritual.

Supreme Court Hears Trump v. Anderson: What To Expect

This morning I will be joining the live coverage of the Supreme Court of the arguments over the disqualification of former President Donald Trump from the Colorado ballot under the 14th Amendment. When I am not on air, I will be doing my usual running analysis on Twitter/X. I have been a vocal critic of the theory under Section 3 as textually and historically flawed.  It is also, in my view, a dangerously anti-democratic theory that would introduce an instability in our system, which has been the most stable and successful constitutional system in the world. Dartmouth Restores Use of SAT Scores Despite Claims of Racism

In a welcomed move, Dartmouth has reversed its decision to stop using Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores in admissions. Many universities have yielded to claims that standardized testing is racist or inimical to diversity, including the entire California college system. This push has ignored ample research showing that these scores are the most reliable predictor of success. Instead, they rely on grade point averages (GPA), which are dubious given grade inflation and radical differences in grading systems. Torching Free Speech: Republican Candidate in Missouri is Running as a Book Burner

GomezLast year, we discussed a Democratic candidate (Will Rollins) for Congress who was running on an anti-free speech pledge to increase censorship in the United States.  Now there is a GOP candidate for Secretary of State in Missouri, Valentina Gomez, who is literally running on a book burning platform. “Externalizing the Difficult Responsibility of Censorship”: Higher Education in the Censorship Triad

This week, the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government issued a new report on the Biden Administration’s massive censorship system. The ongoing investigation has exposed the coordination in a system of blacklisting, throttling, and suspensions of targeted citizens and groups. Now, it appears that the Biden White House also pushed for Amazon to target dissenting books to suppress sales by blocking promotions. After all, why burn books when you can bury them? “Innovating Ways to Resist, Heal, Liberate”: California Educators Defend Contract for “Woke Kindergarten”

We have been discussing the decline of public education as more families are seeking alternatives in home schooling and voucher programs. Public school boards and the teachers unions are killing public education by lowering standards while pursuing social and political agendas. Those issues have come to the forefront of a “Woke Kindergarten” program in the San Francisco area. Glassbrook Elementary in Hayward, California, spent $250,000 in federal funds, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. After two years with “Woke Kindergarten,” students’ scores declined but a quarter of million dollars went to this controversial group.
