FLOG THE BLOG: Vote Now or the Orcs Will Inhabit the Blog

It has come to this. We are facing a 50 vote deficit with ten days left in the battle for the blogoshere. It is time to pull out the video that most captures the moment (as supplied by Mespo). You are not the first to face an overwhelming army with many assuming certain defeat.

Do you want the orcs to win? Do you want Frodo Baggins stuffed and used as a plaything for Uruk-hai children? Who among us will return to the safety of our virtual homes rather than hold the line?

We need 50 bloggers to step forward and join us at the Black Gate of the ABA competition.

  1. I should have guessed Marco was humorless when he didn’t understand why he was being taunted for threatening kittens.

    Interesting that.

Perhaps it’s not Satyricon as in “satire” but as in “satyriasis”.

They both have their root in the word “satyr” and marco’s actions are starting be a bit root like. I would say “root grabbing” but given his last name I don’t want to encourage any of those Jersey Boy Italian stereotypes. Some of them can actually walk with both hands free. After all, heritage sometimes has nothing to do with one’s root, er, roots.

Oh . . . I am so ashamed of myself for going there.

    Nah. Who am I kidding?

  2. OOOPPPS…once again! In my previous comment, I meant to write: Maybe Satyrs/Satyriconistas don’t catch the humor of PROFESSOR Turley and people who comment at his blog–BUT they sure can dance!

  4. Think I found where he went to recruit votes: (from wikipedia)

“AutoAdmit, also known as Xoxohth, is a network of websites for prospective and current college, graduate, law students, and lawyers best known for its largely unmoderated message board. Its law school message board is its busiest section. The message board, which bills itself as “the most prestigious admissions board in the world,” has drawn the attention and criticism of some in the legal community and the media, most notably the Wall Street Journal, and National Public Radio for its lack of moderation of offensive and defamatory content.”

  5. Dear Marc,

People say I’m a different person when I’m depressed, so I voted for the second time just now as my other self.

P.S. I recommend a fine organic merkin for your chapped ass.

  6. Jill: What is XOX? So what do you think happened? I love a good conspiracy!

I found the updated posting at: “AutoAdmit:The most prestigious law school discussion board in the world.” a blog that appears to be for law students and people that want to be law students.

Randazza’s posting has as it’s subject “Subject: Requesting XOXers help” At first I thought that was the name of the thread or forum but maybe not. It could be a law school year designation. Here’s the link:

  7. lottakatz–

I understood that Nal was making a correction. When I wrote “Whom you correcting?”–it was my attempt at humor. I guess it must have failed.

    FF LEO–

“Nal’s a treasure on many *fonts*”

    LOL! That’s a GOOD one!

    **********
    Mespo–

    Thanks for that video clip!

  8. Nal, Thank you for the Html code. I will save them to a Word page and experiment with them.

LOL! And you doubt that you are one of my Fav-0-Rite posters?

  10. To create a link:

    <a href=”http://jonathanturley.org”>Title</a>

If you double (triple?) click in the address bar, the URL will be highlighted, and then CTL-C (copy), you can then CTL-V (paste) the URL into the space between the two double quotes.

  11. Ah, nanny Tim has called us out for having a little fun. In reply, I offer him my favorite scene from “The West Wing” so he can have something to say at his next “monthly meeting of the ignorant tight-ass club.” Note the opening reference to falsifying voting tallies:

  12. FFLEO:

    = GT

Then, by substituting: (no spaces required)

LT i GT Text to be italicized. LT / i GT

LT b GT Text to be bold faced. LT / b GT

    Test: /Text to be italicized./

    Test: Text to be italicized.

  13. Jill asked,

    What is XOX?

Jill, that may be too personal of a question. I think it means kisses and hugs…

Hey Nal, how’s ’bout providing the directions to making HTML boldface, Italics, underline, et cetera, using WordPress and post those within this or the corrections thread?

    Thanks

  15. L.K.,

I’m most likely using the wrong term and being confusing. I think FFLEO should go to Marc’s site and post his analysis of the votes under comments.

What is XOX? So what do you think happened? I love a good conspiracy!

  16. Elaine, Nal was correcting Randazza’s posting title:

“Call For Votes in the ABA 100 (who you calling a “nazi”?) SB: ”
    Should be:
“Call For Votes in the ABA 100 (whom you calling a “nazi”?)”

(Sorry Nal, I can’t replicate the boldface in your original posting.)

Nal is a treasure on many fronts.
